I am not a developer! I am just a Droid4 User in Europe who spent a lot of time with seraching for GSM Roms for the Droid4!
Be sure to visit the original thread and carefully read the instructions for flashing your new rom. No one is responsible if you brick your device. Use all stuff on your own risk.
Use the THANK YOU Button to say thank you in the original threads!
I flashed all three Roms below. All worked fine for me, using safestrap.
My Carrier: O2 Germany + Swisscom Switzerland. Data worked fine too. APNs worked after boot
Right now my favorite Rom is the AOKP Jelly JB 4.1.2. Everything is smooth and fast.

Great work!
I've been looking for a GSM ROM long time ago!
Hi.
Can I switch between GSM/UMTS and CDMA in menu?
Or it's "hardcoded" for GSM/UMTS only and to switch back to CDMA I have to use another rom?
Thanks.
Should've taken a better look Installing your rom, hopefully data will work for the Netherlands (Telfort)
And it doesnt.. using SS3.05, tried several roms and all show the R (roamin) icon, but the data doesnt work for any of the roms
[EDIT2]
And it DOES work! Did a factory reset and everything works So happy now haha! Didnt even have to adjust anything!

Thanks for the tip oleg, love it that you adjust the JB roms to be GSM friendly
Will there be an update soon? Saw something about 9DEC update bein' pulled for CM10.1, but dont think that would work for GSM as it is anyways.

no prob, you're welcome. I researched some tricks with 10.1, GSM is working there, but I got random com.android.phone FC issues, and I would say it's the alpha version and isn't the daily one of course. I decided to leave for a while 10.1, because of many bugs.
I'm currently on MyFishBear's non-hybrid Eclipse and its super smooth. No scripts or patches either, working GSM, no issues so far

Wow, amazing! Thx a lot!
Before I install the app, I "found a solution".
If I start the droid, the internet works.
Then if I reboot the droid, I have "no data".
Then I shut the droid off and on, the "no data bug" was gone. but this is a better solution to get internet on my droid.
Is it possible to add the "working apn address" to the current apns-conf.xml, to use the internet without the app "HIAPN"
Thx Testdevice

I went ahead and created some updated XT860 patches, you can apply them from CWM.
I have tested the AOKP one, not the CM9 one, so please let me know if it is working.
These have been updated to match the nightly build.props from 05/14/2012.
Weird, Ijust use the ics xt860 patch on hashcodes site. Works great here even with the nightlies.

Yup, but that version is a few months old and a lot of the settings in the build.prop file are old, as well these patches setup for Canada.

There are a lot of differences, in the CM9 one there are a lot of CM9 specific features that AOKP doesn't need, and vice versa.
dani: Thanks for these. Which rom of the 2 did you choose? I installed AOKP 05-15 nightly and came across a weird APN issue. It's in the AOKP thread, post 494 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26196280&postcount=494 )
Have you experienced the same issue? The simple solution for me was to modify the apns-conf.xml to only indicate the 1 good Rogers APN set, and re-install AOKP. I'm not sure if this happens for anyone else though... I was going to ask that you include the updated apns-conf.xml as part of the patch, but who knows... could have been a freak incident on just my phone.
Thanks again!

I just used the included APNs, and removed ALL of them except for the one you pointed out. Then I edited the authentication of that APN and set it to "none" (it is set by default to "not set") and everything worked.
I don't wipe whenever I change my ROM, that's too much work, esp when you're on nightlies.
Interesting... I may just do another install with your auth field trick and see if that works for me. Thanks man
I'm crazy about wiping when switching roms, but I haven't ever used nightlies before. I will try a non-wipe on my next nightly install for sure.
Thanks again

Setting auth to None got me working just fine... thanks! I am now on cm9 and it is working much better than aokp for me. Lots of free ram on cm9!
Is there a signal bar fix available? I seem to only get 2 signal bars max (even though I have great reception... so not a huge deal). I remember a build.prop tweak where you change verizonglobal to 0 but I see that it is already set.

Can anyone tell me if its possible to get data network on thrill.
there might be, but unless someone posts it actually working, dont use cm10. when i used it, i had signal the first time. however, after an hour or so, my phone randomly rebooted. after it turned back on, service was gone, and IT KEPT rebooting every 2 minutes or so. also, same goes for jellybean and pacman

It does works for the thrill. You just have to flash bernis u-boot and x-loader. I was using it on my v20p thrill. I switch back to GB because people on the other end of the phone were hearing an echo. If you can live with that it works fine. Just go to the o3d development threads there is a thread that explains how to install everything.

Is CM10 critical for you?
Because I installed ICS port by XBSA, samno kernel and v20c baseband and it's amazing, like new phone! (in Canada)
You can find all info in Optimus 3D development section. Our phones are EXACTLY the same, just different basebands. With v20c I have 3G/H in WCDMA 850 and WCDMA 1900.
It's challenging process but it worth it. I can help.
Good luck!

Yes, buttons work as suppose to IF you install custom kernel on top of ROM. I use one made by samno (lots of settings too):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077071
Hope it will help.
Good luck!
OK what phone do u have a lg thrill or optimus 3d also I heard the back and search button doesn't work with lg thrill and if i t does work do u want to help me.
Ok, my phone was originally LG-P925g with Rogers (Canada) - I'm not sure if it was officially called Thrill since I bought it used. Then I read and realized that it's absolutely the same phone as Optimus 3D (920).
So for last year I was using Prometheus ROM with iBluekernel.
Then I decided to try ICS port from XBSA. And it worked. Lots of hoops to go thrugh but works.
Then I put kernel made by samno (in 3D development section) and that kernel solved button issue. But I got another one - at home I could connect to wifi but couldn't go past router. So today I flashed kernel made by iodak and am happy surfer.
If you just flash xbsa port you will have all 4 buttons, but BACK button works as HOME and SEARCH as BACK. HOME is HOME and SETTINGS is SETTINGS.
I hope it helps.

Hey friends,
For those of you who have been waiting, here is the good news.
I am so glad to present the latest (not exactly, but not old either) MIUI V5 3.8.2 for our SHV-E120S S2 HD device.
Whats working:
Seriously speaking I have not done a explicit testing on this build, but have briefly gone through almost all the things and found those to be working. :good:
Whats not working:
There is no keyboard installed by default. You need to skip all the settings in the beginning and then you can install a JB keyboard and then setup your phone.
Problems:
I found the Camera app not fully functional. If you want to simply click pictures then its working great. But I found a few problems while video recording. The speed at which the camera takes photos is pretty quick and for the video is pretty laggy.
NOTE:
1. I am not the creator of this ROM, I have simply ported it to our device.
2. Make sure you have taken the necessary backup of your existing ROM before flashing this one.
Flashing Process:
1. Copy the downloaded file to your sd card where you can access it easily.
2. Boot into recovery and take a backup of your existing system (in case any thing goes wrong)
3. Cleaning up
3a. Wipe data/factory reset
3b. Wipe cache partition
3c. Go to Advanced option and wip dalvik cache
4. Choose install zip and point it to the location where you copied the downloaded miui zip. It will take around 2 mins.
5. Repeat steps 3a, 3b and 3c.
6. Reboot your device.
While starting for the first time it may take some time and any subsequent restarts will be much faster.
WARNING:
And I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong with your device. Please flash this at your own risk.
Although I flashed the same and had no problems at all. I have experienced a good battery backup with this ROM.
Those who flash this ROM, please share your experience with others. And it would be great if someone could put up a video of the flashing process and the performance of the phone once you have flashed the ROM.
Without any further delay here is the download link for the same:
Build 01: 2013_08_20
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BycWzcfvhoryUEd4Nnk1SXZQS28/edit?usp=sharing
Build 02: Coming Soon...
But I would need people to test it once.... coz I don't have enough time to test it.
Also if anyone would like to see the screenshots, you can find those here:
http://www.mediafire.com/folder/za31zscots5b5/MIUI_V5_ROM
Happy Downloading, and please hit the Thanks button if you like my work. I just hope if works for you all
Lastly I would like to thank
MIUI team, MIUIAndroid team, osm0sis and Tinus81 (the link you gave did the trick ) for helping me out.
Thank you.

You could brick your device (just guessing)....

Hi shrewdy I just bought a brand new SHV-E120S from ebay it should arrive tomrorrow so I am just downloading your rom ready.
I have been reading contradicting specs for this phone can you confirm what bands it actually supports ?
From what I can tell I can get gsm and 3g here in the uk but possibly lte because some sites say it supports 3 lte bands and some say just 850mhz
Would you say best option is to flash stock ics then cwm then this rom ?

Hey Buddy,
you can find more information about the phone at this link http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_ii_hd_lte-4198.php
The stock roms are not good enough for this phone....actually speaking none of the ROMs are absolutely perfect for this phone...coz there are not many developers who know about this device.
The phone itself is quite a capable device but its a sad thing that no one supports the phone directly...so people like us have no choice but to port different roms which i must say are not so perfect...
Anyways there are a handful of ROMs available for this device...you can try each one and see which suits you....I really need the camera working absolutely fine and so i use iR2 ROM (Version 3)...
Hope you find answers to your questions.
Thanks.

Yes shame there is not much of a following on this phone it looks good and was ahead of its time !
It would also be good if someone had the time to put in a thread all the different roms, download links what versions etc on main page here............as there are not many I guess it won't take long !
Yes I saw the specs on GSMARENNA but some say they are wrong regarding the bands that are on the SHV-E120S..........anwyay mine has arrived so its time to unbox and flash !
Do you have a dwonload link for the rom you recommend ? Does everything work ? From reading it appears that FOXROM is about as bear perfect as you can get ? but its ICS.

And here is another ROM that i have tried lately and was working quite well (not 100% stable though): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44948602&postcount=1949

Thanks for the links..............I put a modified stock version on last night and it seems to be stable but very battery hungry so I intend on trying the IR32 tonight which I am hoping is much better ! It didn't download in time !
Shrewdy I think the ROM I tried it was one you posted you tried because it was a zip of a MD5 file with your initials in the file name.
Also just to report for anyone in the uk who purchases this phone it appears that becaus the phone only gets 1 out of the 2 3g bands you can only obtain 3g speeds no H at all unless of course its the rom I am using.
I think the build quality of the phone is a lot better than the S3 and looks more expensive !
If I can get the battery lasting a day then I will be happy I am not bothered about the 4g or H speeds really thats what we hav WIFI for

I am sorry buddy but i really dont have any idea... i just ported the original thing to our device....
If the original MIUI has support for Spanish language then this will have it too..
I searched around and found these links which might be useful...
This one teaches you how to create your own language pack/or translate things
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789566
This one gives you a list of language packs you can download for MIUI (but older version)
http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/miui-v5-multi-lang-3-5-31.20664/
Now i am not sure if things work for you if you download the language pack and apply it to this rom...i dont know what will happen...
Hope something works for you...
Thanks.
Dude, can you help me port other roms for our device?

Shrewdy, I recently buy one of this one (E120S) and I've been looking for a better rom that "full of bloatware" official one. I know you're experienced a lot with this device, so my question is simple: is still this ROM the best stable and compatibility version that you have used? I know this is a noob question, but since your original post is in August, maybe you have a better experience with new a ROM.
About the camera, have you solved the lag during video taking?
Thanks for your answers!!!

Bro... this rom (MIUI 3.8.2) is not the most stable version... My rom is based on the MIUI's Development version which is probably never stable.
If you want a stable rom (which i dont think there is...) it is SVN ROM 1.2... this is the fastest, smoothest and most stable rom i have used until now on my shv-e120s.
Try that rom i am sure you will like it.
Thanks
Can someone port this to E120L please? Hehe

Thanks for that suggestion! I've reading for your post in several threads of forums-xda, and I found you put some links about it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45496210&postcount=54)... Now, is this ROM in english (or multilingual)? Because I couldn't find any information in the translated chinese post that you provided. And the other question is, what about the patches that you mention in your thread? They are specially good for something??
Thanks for your thoughts!

I have used the K version and like it but random silent calls make the rom unsuitable. has anyone a suggestion for the silent call issue? I find the same bug on all custom roms regardless of the Baseband I have flashed from stock I will test the latest baseband SHV-E120K[MK1]. here is a thread for the MIUI versions for L, S and K versions here Latest K and S versions are 3.11.22 L version is 3.7.12 Try this link here
I have been looking for an optimized T-Mobile WiFi calling ROM, looks like no body cares about this feature because it is only few ROMS using this feature. I am using the stock rooted but it is bad with the battery and I am used to the battery use in Chrome ROM. Could someone point me to a good rom with the best features and battery with a WiFi calling enabled? Thank you.

its only available in stock(or stock based ROMs?). its added in by tmobile, and not open sourced(yet?). and the majority of ROMs are based on aosp, and the code wasnt put into aosp(yet?). so if you want WiFi calling, you'd have to use stock, or m.
I was about to post the same question... any answers?

The wifi calling bits aren't part of AOSP, a few people have tried to "reverse engineer" it, but with limited success from what I understand. I think part of the problem is finding a developer that has T-Mobile. Being that some of our devs are from all around the world, and even the ones in the US are likely not going to have T-Mobile. This makes their testing slower and/or harder.
I think there are a few that are still working on it, but I don't think it is a major focus of anyone. I know a couple have sorta given up on it.
tl;dr - No custom AOSP (or variations of it) currently have it that I know of, stock ROMs are the only ones (plural because this includes M dev preview) that offer the functionality.
I'm using the m preview with newest radio and it works great

You can get the factory images directly from Google, here. Or there are versions you can flash in a custom recovery and slightly customized versions floating around these forums.

Try the JDX M preview rom here on XDA. Rooted, unencrypted, busy box and a few other fixes. Load that and hellscores latest m kernel and you are good to go

Is there an updated list of roms that have WiFi calling somewhere? I googled it and found this thread but that's it.

No. Just about any ROM that has been updated in the past month or so should have it built in. The OP of every ROM should state if it includes it, and if it doesn't then there is a good chance it doesn't.
Just as a note, kernels also matter for getting wifi calling to work as well, if you decide to flash a different than what is included with the ROM.

PureNexus is optimized for Project Fi now, and T-Mobile calling is working fine. Been my daily driver since the first release July 5... I kind of miss crack flashing, but it's stable and has lots of great extras! Plus the Dev and community are super helpful!

You'll find WiFi calling in Dirty Unicorns, and in PureNexus as has been already noted, plus Chroma, I believe Minimal OS, AOSiP, as well as most stock based custom roms (include Gapps)...from what I can tell, no Cyanogenmod based rom has it...I'm sure there are others.
Best to flash and try it before fully setting up the rom itself. Here is why...if the feature is important to you, it can take a bit of tweaking to make sure it works...for starters, if going the AOSP route, you'll need a WiFi calling kernel (Lean kernel version 2.10.6 works perfectly), a proper T-Mobile WiFi calling modem, and those include 14R, 16R and 17R...and sometimes you'll need to toggle WiFi calling on and off, reboot, and you also may need to dive into developer options and flip the switch aggressive WiFi to cellular handover.
Good luck!
