I have been looking for an optimized T-Mobile WiFi calling ROM, looks like no body cares about this feature because it is only few ROMS using this feature. I am using the stock rooted but it is bad with the battery and I am used to the battery use in Chrome ROM. Could someone point me to a good rom with the best features and battery with a WiFi calling enabled? Thank you.

its only available in stock(or stock based ROMs?). its added in by tmobile, and not open sourced(yet?). and the majority of ROMs are based on aosp, and the code wasnt put into aosp(yet?). so if you want WiFi calling, you'd have to use stock, or m.

The wifi calling bits aren't part of AOSP, a few people have tried to "reverse engineer" it, but with limited success from what I understand. I think part of the problem is finding a developer that has T-Mobile. Being that some of our devs are from all around the world, and even the ones in the US are likely not going to have T-Mobile. This makes their testing slower and/or harder.
I think there are a few that are still working on it, but I don't think it is a major focus of anyone. I know a couple have sorta given up on it.
tl;dr - No custom AOSP (or variations of it) currently have it that I know of, stock ROMs are the only ones (plural because this includes M dev preview) that offer the functionality.

You can get the factory images directly from Google, here. Or there are versions you can flash in a custom recovery and slightly customized versions floating around these forums.

Try the JDX M preview rom here on XDA. Rooted, unencrypted, busy box and a few other fixes. Load that and hellscores latest m kernel and you are good to go

No. Just about any ROM that has been updated in the past month or so should have it built in. The OP of every ROM should state if it includes it, and if it doesn't then there is a good chance it doesn't.
Just as a note, kernels also matter for getting wifi calling to work as well, if you decide to flash a different than what is included with the ROM.

PureNexus is optimized for Project Fi now, and T-Mobile calling is working fine. Been my daily driver since the first release July 5... I kind of miss crack flashing, but it's stable and has lots of great extras! Plus the Dev and community are super helpful!

You'll find WiFi calling in Dirty Unicorns, and in PureNexus as has been already noted, plus Chroma, I believe Minimal OS, AOSiP, as well as most stock based custom roms (include Gapps)...from what I can tell, no Cyanogenmod based rom has it...I'm sure there are others.
Best to flash and try it before fully setting up the rom itself. Here is why...if the feature is important to you, it can take a bit of tweaking to make sure it works...for starters, if going the AOSP route, you'll need a WiFi calling kernel (Lean kernel version 2.10.6 works perfectly), a proper T-Mobile WiFi calling modem, and those include 14R, 16R and 17R...and sometimes you'll need to toggle WiFi calling on and off, reboot, and you also may need to dive into developer options and flip the switch aggressive WiFi to cellular handover.
Good luck!

Aosp based 4.4.1 with minimal tweaks. I haven't updated it in a bit, but I've been running it for a month now, needing a reboot once a week or so. I'll get back to working on it eventually.
Edit: It has some issues, but nothing major. Chrome likes to crash with an assload of tabs open for an example.
Can you post the link for me please? It sounds like a good reliable ROM, I would eventually like to learn how to build ROMs.

I was really hoping there would be an answer in this thread. Chroma dev doesn't really seem to care, so I am debating about just going back to stock rooted where it actually works. It is pretty annoying not having VoLTE working. With xposed getting more stable for 5.1 that will probably give me most of the options I need anyhow.
Well my goal was to find a ROM with it working andfigure out the solution and then pass it in to zephik but clearly that's not gonna work ha
Ok ALL 5.1 Roms it works. However there is a catch. On "stock" based 5.1 it works right after flash. On CM based roms or cherry picked roms you have to flash a stock based rom first. go through setup...... Make sure the VoLte is working. Flash your preferred , reboot make sure it is working, go to recovery , "wipe" , reboot and setup. Something with connecting to the network. But anyhow. There is issues at times with Cm based roms and VoLte . but not to many. I cannot vouch for stock based as i do not run them full time.

As stated above, this only works (at least on Chroma) if you never reboot. Once you reboot the device, you have to toggle it in settings to work again.

I run Euphoria and Liquid smooth and never have had to toggle it. But we all know different roms different issues.
I was under the impression that only the stock based roms have volte working. That it didn't work on cm 12.1 based roms & only chroma kinda had it working as described earlier. I'm dying to start flashing, but I'm not giving up volte for a few features. Am I wrong?

Still not 100%, most still need what vikramjatt11 mentions a few posts ago, new CM12.1 include,. Benzo seems to work or at least did a few days ago.
Flashable fix for call audio that is kernel independent and will patch International based ROMS to work on your T/W8 variant.
You still need a kernel that is T/W8 compatible flashed for this patch to work.
Code:
You can get it [URL="https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952614440"][B]Here[/B][/URL] for 5.0.2
And you can get it [URL="https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347831878"]Here[/URL] for 5.1.1
Updated 5.1.1 package to BOI6
This patch can also be implemented by ROM builders who wish to build a F based rom for their T or W8 devices Just remember to give credit where it is due. This was a bigger pain in the butt to track down then it appears.
Let me know if you find any issues that may be relative to the fix. Tested and working by my self and a few others.
This patch can also be implemented by ROM builders who wish to build a F based rom for their T or W8 devices. In that regard it *should* also work on Edge variants as well.
Rom builders: you can also use this to build a truly universal ROM one flash to cover it all.
Download my kernel and examine its structure. specificallt look at the scripts that probe device variant and then copy the required files and kernel. You can adapt this to work the other way . But always run it *at the end* of the installation script so anything it patches does not get overwritten by your usual installer code

True. Found out what the problem was and it had nothing to do with this. You guys are good!
I've tried this on the G925T (The TMo S6 Edge), but it didn't seem to work with ktoonz kernel. Not complaining, just letting you know. Thanks for your hard work and assistance (both of you).
*Edit*
Installed Simpl Kernel with this mod and it worked. I'm using XtreStoLite ROM, but didn't work with ktoonz at all (with the fix). Flashing Simpl with with the fix worked just fine. Still need to get used to the Intl ROM.
My apologies beforehand, would you mind clarifying what this patch allows us to do. Can we patch Roms from other providers, I'm just a little confused.
I'm getting the Nexus 6 from Verzion next week. I'm looking for recommendations for good 5.1 ROMs that can use VoLTE and is good for Verizon. ive been rocking cyanideL as my daily for two or more months now. mainly because it has the best nav bar editor (havent tried new one from bliss). was flashing different roms twice a week before that. thats if you are okay with cm based. other cm based roms with that navbar editor are exodus (the creator of the navbar editor in question) and fusion. thing about cm, be careful about encryption being forced, and compatability with some kernals.
if you go aosp, chroma is good, pure nexus is too. if you want stock based, i like N6Shamu, which has gravitybox as an installation option in the aroma installer. TraSmooth is stock based with a lot of optimizations, and some of the m preview stuff.
another option is the m preview stock based roms. jdx is an m preview stock based rom that is good at keeping up with those previews.
if you are on t mobile and need wifi/lte calling, there are only a handful that have ironed that all out.

Hi, due to multiple problems on Lollipop ROMs on MI3, I finally came back to the latest sMIUI ROM.
I know that the new Kernels can be applied to KitKat ROMs, but is there benefits for it? I mean, will it bring back the 5.x problems like HDR not working, etc?

Ah, good news! But HDR isn't the reason I left Lollipop, I kept having network and touchscreen problems :
- Impossible to send or receive MMS (no matter what APN or setting I use)
- Impossible to access to some services or update applications data over 3G (couldn't download a file on Google Drive, couldn't see a video on YouTube, couldn'd refresh posts on 9gag...)
- And sometimes, the touchscreen was buggy, it didn't responded well, so I had to lock-unlock the phone a few times before it start working properly
So for now I'll stay on MIUI KitKat, but I would like to tweak it so it will be at its best
