Increasing DPI in 4.2 above 213 - Nexus 7 General

Increasing the dpi above 213 in 4.2 causes the notification menu to change to one panel with a toggle that switches between the two menus. It also makes the menu full screen.

[Q] Disable Softkeys OR Tablet Mode on CM9

I like my Galaxy Tab P1C!
My current issue is that I don't like the Softkeys!
I have googled quite a few times looking for a guide to disable them, but have turned up empty handed so far...
If its easier to go from Tablet UI to Phone UI (WITHOUT CHANGING THE DPI), and someone knows how its done or can provide the files needed or even teach how its done, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Go to setting/rom control/power menu option and enable navigation bar toggle.then press power button and disable navugation bar.
For ph ui change tablet dpi to 240.on cm9 dpi modder from market works.its quite easy.or els

Thanks for the info, but I already knew how to do that...
As I said, I want the phone UI, WITHOUT changing the DPI...
Appreciate the thought anyway
If you change the dpi to 161 I think you will have the phone UI with nearly the same dpi, but you will have play store incompatiblity.
This is just a suggestion I never used CM, I have aokp installed in my tab.

But why do you want phone ui without changing dpi?

Ill try 161, I generally stick to the standard 160/240/320 for tablet/phone/hi-rez
I also use GMarket v3.4.7 modified for DPI and no-update, so the only issue I can see happening is if an app self-checks the DPI
Why do I want the PhoneUI you ask? Read the OP...
i'm runing cm10 on my 8.9 tab i don't want the tablet UI i want it to be like the nexus 7
can anyone help please?

[Q] sense based rom full screen (no status bar)

Hi. Does anybody know how to make status bar hidden while on action launcher using Sentinel rom?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
There is a Xposed module called app settings, which also have a full screen option per app
Thank you! Only downside is that when full screen mode is enabled, you can't access the quick settings or notification shade with shortcuts using pie. It will do until pie mode is made for my rom!

Don't know exactly what you mean or which pie app you use. But with LMT pie, you can set pie or swipe commands for quick settings or accessing the notificationbar as far as I know.
Yes this is true, but when the status bar is hidden by the xposed module, the settings and notification shade don't come down until I open an app that doesn't have the status bar hidden. If that makes sense? Haha
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Tried it. The full screen app seems to force itself on top, so when you set a swip command for the statusbar it does come down, but because the full screen app forces itself on top it's behind the app. When you close the app it's there. That's some kind of funny

LOVING this rom. No issues thus far. Haven't tried Bluetooth yet, but no fc's. If the battery life compares to AOKP, this is my new daily driver. Love the wealth of customizing options. Well done!

No.
But I want to get back on this rom. Do you guys or the Rabbit have any SD swap ideas for this rom? Is it possible on a 422 rom?
Pleasantly surprised with this ROM as I am not normally a big fan of combo ROMs. I would like to see an integrated SD swap like that is skrilax's version of CM 10.2, but otherwise I like it.

uXylon was like this. You need to enable the menu button in phone settings. I can't remember exactly where it's at, but you should be able to find it after digging around a little.

CM 10.1 Lamps Settings ?

Where Can I find the Settings for the Lamps of the Back - Home - Option button ? To change the Bright Duration or switch them off ?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I think there are no settings from CM itself but various other options like apps or customisation through build.prop or other system files.
Just search for button backlight on XDA

Changing DPI settings (almost prefect)

OK to start I am not a fan of the stock dpi of any of my phones (I feel they make everything too big).
Coming from a note 3 I pretty much know which apps to keep at stock dpi so the app doesn't break or look weird and found a few more for the note 4. But this time around a few got me scratching my head.
I changed my android system and system ui DPI to 320 using app settings from xposed
Corrected the apps that need to run at 640
Everything's great except
- recent apps when you press the button, dpi stays small.
Anyone have an idea of what apps I might have missed changing back to stock?
made thread for it

I posted this in a different dpi thread, but for the lockscreen, change keyguard back to 640. You'll need to do a full reboot for it to take effect (app settings killing app doesn't work). I also set it to include widgets in the app settings screen but I'm too lazy to check if that's needed or not.
No idea about recent apps.

Odd - I just double checked the settings I have for com.android.keyguard in App Settings and the only changes I made are:
- DPI: 640
- Checked the 'Apply res to widgets' box
It didn't change on killing app but did work after a full reboot. My lockscreen with fingerprint on looks perfect with lcd_density in build.prop set to 480.
I changed the dpi of the phone to 480 and modified the problem apps back to 640. So far everything looks good except the popup for symbols on the keyboard (the window that pops up when you press and hold a key on the keyboard). Keyboard was set to 640. Anyone know what I need to change to correct this?

checked the apply res to widgets
changed screen dp to 800x1280

Thanks, 480 worked for me! I'll probably end up switching to swiftkey in the future, but for now I'm trying to determine how important the floating keyboard is for me

no problem,
its why i kept it in the past put i got over it after i switched but its easy to switch back when you need it. when your in the text field and the keyboard pops up just pull down your notification bar (which i have programmed as a home swipe up) and click 'choose input method' and switch at will. just make sure you have the keyboards in question active.
any updates on the fix for recent apps? everything looks good on my phone at 420 DPI except the recent apps - not sure which app to reset to 640 dpi
