Download the KFHD SRTool from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
Don't worry you shouldn't need a factory cable. There is another way to enable fastboot.
Power off your device and unhook from the computer.
Unzip the tool and run SR Tool
Choose option 1 or 2
It should say [waiting for device], at this point plug in the device. It should automatically start to boot (if not hit the power button) then go to a screen that says Fastboot Kindle Fire and the tool should start sending the image. This is going to reflash the system image. Be patient it can take awhile to finish. More than likely it is what is causing the problem depending on what you did to cause it. If some applications you downloaded are causing problems I would recommend erasing cache and userdata after the script completes.
To get out of fastboot hold down the power button for 10-20 seconds
Let me know if this works as I have not tried to enable fastboot this way on the HD7. Should work though, it does on the HD8.9 and the original.

Did it go straight to that screen or did the Kindle Fire logo appear first? Like it was trying to boot but then went to that screen. Did you try selecting an option? Did the command prompt change? sorry for all the questions just trying to get a feel for what exactly is happening?

Yeah I just had someone also test that method and it does not work on the 7" hd models, sucks!
To answer your question about factory cable,
Yes it is, and its really easy if you have a soldering iron(don't really need it but helps) and are handy. Basically a usb cable has five leads but only uses four of them. You have to make a jumper with a 1k resistor(thats what is recommended) from that fifth lead to the power(red) lead. Pretty easy.
Here's a link with more details and there is a post by someone in there who sells them, cheap at that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693
Thank you again ill try it and tell you what happened with me
so now i made a factory cable and connect my Kindle to the computer and fast boot start computer can recognize the kindle when i used the Kindle Fire Utility to install fire fire fire it turned off and never start again :S

First of all not to be an ass but why would you do this? First the kindle fire utility is for the first gen KF. Second how could you not have seen all the news and articles talking about the bootloader on these devices being locked down. It's probably one of the most talked about aspects about this device right now. What has happened is by trying to load fire fire fire, which is a custom bootloader for first gen, you have flashed over the original bootloader and hopefully not but possibly bricked your device permanently. If you can manage to get it back into fastboot I can send you a backup of the bootloader partition you can reflash. PM me and i'll walk you through it.

Help! I successfully rooted my Kindle Fire HD 7" following your tutorial "[ROOT][HOW TO] Root the Kindle Fire HD and 2 with Windows - Noob (Simple) Version", and then installed Google Plays etc. following "[ROOT][HOW TO] Install Google Play Store Noob (Simple) Version". I then got to the "[How to] Install Go Launcher EX and HD Noob (Simple) Version" tutorial, and everything went down hill from here.
After following the instructions of tutorial 3, and error message popped on my screen saying that "October has Stopped" and my device froze. I held down the power button, but my device wouldn't boot up - instead it went to a screen with a "Red Warning Triangle". I tried everything from this screen to reboot/reboot my device, all to no avail. Eventually the battery died.
I was able to my Kindle Charged again using the wall charger. However, when plugging into my computer via USB, it doesn't appear on my list of devices. Thus, tools such as KF First Aide are of no help; they cant't communicate with my device, and get stuck on the "<waiting for device>" message.
Any advice?
Can I fix this? How Is my Kindle Fird HD 7" dead forever?

Yes you can fix it,In Fact, You need to have done a lot worse than that to completely fry your kindle, Don't worry, But you will need a factory cable now, Do you have one?
If you don't you can either
A) Order one from SkOrPn
B)Make one yourself, It's easy if you know how to solder
Once you acquire i'll tell you how to completely restore your kindle!
Yes he is right. You can order a factory cable from prokennexusa by PM.

The simplest tool that can restore your kindle would be
KFHD System.img Restore Tool KFHD SRT
All you need to do is download this tool
KFHD_SRT_v1.2.3- 7.2.3
This is a large download, System images are ~600Mb
Originial Thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
Open SR Tool.bat
choose option 1
Or option 2 if you would like to have Go launcher or Apex launcher installed along with it, And google play store!
The tool will send the system image to your kindle, This will take about 7 minutes
Next, you should choose option 3 to wipe cache and userdata, This is recommended but not required, You will lose any files you transferred to your kindle, You don't need to do this if you want to keep your files!
If you need help just ask

UPDATE
I wanted to update everyone on my situation. I followed the threads advice - and it worked!
Specifically:
1. I ordered a factory cable from SkOrPn - got it in 3 days after placing order (shibby!).
2. I charged my device by plugging it into wall charger.
3. I installed the Kindle Fire ADB drivers on my compter - directions and links can be found on the thread [ROOT][HOW TO] Root the Kindle Fire HD and 2 with Windows - Noob (Simple) Version
4. I installed the toolbox KFHD_SRT_v1.2.3- 7.2.3 - from the thread KFHD System.img Restore Tool KFHD SRT
5. I plugged my device into PC USB port using the factory cable - it immediately went into fastboot.
6. I used KFHD_SRT_v1.2.3- 7.2.3 from my pc (SR Tool.bat), followed the instructions, and presto.

How long did it take your kindle to charge? When I plug mine in the wall charger it only turns on for like 5 seconds and that's about it? Also did you use the factory cable to charge or the usb cable that came with the Kindle?
bricked .. red screen
I was able to root my KFHD7 with Root_with_Restore and then Qemu .. rooting seemed to work fine.
I then tried to use Fire Flash app to load Hashcode's freedom boot image and TWRP recovery image.. clicked the flash button, it rebooted to a red screen.
I made myself a fastboot cable, when I plug it in, I see the Fastboot logo on the kindle, but my PC never detects the device.
Not sure where to go from here.
I've downloaded and tried KF2_SRT tool and no go. Also downloaded and tried KFFirstAide .. same deal.
All tools stay on <waiting for device>
remove factory cable after it is in fastboot

So, basically.
1) I rooted
2) got google play
3) tried to get twrp with fire flash, and this is where i screwed up
Insted of using hashcode's twrp img i used the actualy twrp (blaze) img. so im in this constant reboot loop thing.
So i got a factory cable and I am in flashboot. I got KFHD recovery tool 1.3.5 and when i click option 1, it says <waiting for device>.
I think this is due to the fact that my drivers are not installed correctly, so i tried to reinstall drivers but it just doesnt seem to be working. My thoughts are, If i can just get my computer to recognize the device we might be ok. but i cant seem to make it do that.

KFHD7 turns off after 5 seconds
So I've basically followed all steps here and in numerous other threads, but one problem still persists: the Kindle Fire HD 7 turns off after 5 seconds. If I press the power button, nothing happens. If I plug it into a charger, it'll turn on and display the "Kindle Fire" logo on the screen then turn off after 5 seconds. If I plug it into a USB port, it'll turn on and display the "Kindle Fire" logo on the screen then turn off after 5 seconds. If I plug in the factory cable, it'll turn on and display the "Kindle Fire" logo, then display the "Fastboot Kindle Fire" logo then turn off after 5 seconds. I've left the unit on the charger for hours on end, then attempt to turn it on using the power button or plugging in a normal or factory USB cable and it'll do the same thing, turn off after 5 seconds.
OK you may have a 50/50 shot if its doing this because of a bad boot loader, but it could make things worse and end up in a hard brick if it shuts off mid flash, but if it happened to be something wrong with the battery then you would risk this for nothing, but I'm more inclined to think its the bootloader since it doesn't warn u of a low battery. If the fastboot device needs its drivers still, try installing the ones in my signature in that small time frame. If u can manage that, get a copy of the boot loader for your device and check the md5sum of the file( very important) and make sure it matches. Once you have that setup, you need to flash the boot loader onto the device, so I would suggest putting the boot loader in the same folder as fastboot.exe and running "fastboot -i 0x1949 flash bootloader bootloaderfile.bin" and let it say waiting for device, then plug you fastboot cable in and see if it will successfully flash within 5 seconds. If things go south it will hard brick though from an incomplete flash so just warning you ahead of time its up to you.

hi all
I have a question, I have a Kindle Fire HD 7 with TWRP Recovery everything worked but the application nova launcher disappeared could not delete it or reinstall it so I did a wipe, but lost the root when you try to do it again had problems with coomand SU, with wire factory try doing a factory recovery with my backup.
appered after to restore a red screen and my computer does not recognize any new device
micro usb cable = kindle fire logo and red screen after
factory cable = fasboot logo and not recognize any device
not a problem for drivers is a problem with the tab
any ideas to fix?
tnx
Have you tried everything available to you first? This includes: factory resetting by booting into recovery and doing a whole system wipe, SD card included; see if you're at luck and ADB or fastboot still works by flashing the stock Amazon OS, assuming CMD still recognizes your fastboot.
Other than that, I'm out of options. I'd try to return it and hope for a refund or an exchange. However, you're only dealing with a soft brick, because if it's a hard brick, the whole tablet won't turn on at all, so at least it's not a paperweight at this point. I'd try to reach out to Hashcode or Soupmagnet or Reverendkjr on this forum and ask for help.
Yes, all that and tried
It sounds like your kindle updated to 7.3.0 the boot loader hack doesn't get along with that...read the last few pages in the boot loader three I think you'll fix your problem

There's actually a way I can think of, but I don't know if it will work. As long as you can find the bootloader files for the tablet, you can try to ask someone to JTAG your KFHD7. The process involves taking apart the tablet, using electricity to provide power while re-writing the bootloader so you can end up in fastboot mode. It's not very expensive, a regular Galaxy S3 takes 45-60 bucks and within a week. That's the only thing I have left for y'all.

Can you send fastboot commands to it? Try "fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot" and see if it reboots. As long as you can send fastboot commands to it, you're good to go.

Fireflash
TWRP
CM10

Please XDA's community !!!
buy a fastboot cable
this helped me with a red screen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
The reason this happened was because you was on 7.3x of the AmazonOS, you needed to flash the 7.23 bootloader first before installing the second bootloader. Only a factory cable and the restore tool will save you now.
I did the same thing and the fast boot cable saved me. Good investment.

Actually, I've used the FireFlash method twice now on my Kindle Fire HD, and it's worked flawlessly both times, and takes less than five minutes to complete. But hey, whatever works.
i was also stuck in a red screen loop!
you really need a factory cable
what i did was turn off the kindle fire hd then plug in the cable, i turned on the device, and boom just use the toolkit which you can find on the development thread
i hope this helps!!! i was so frustrated as to why it wouldnt work
also you must have the kindle fire adb drivers.
ONLY FOR THOSE WITH A BROKEN POWER BUTTON: and if you dont happen to have a functioning power button like me, wait until the tablet dies, after just plug in the tablet to your pc with the factory cable that way when it finally recharges it boots up in fastboot, otherwise your tablet will be in red screen forever
Hello,
While trying to upgrade kindle fire HD to Jellybean , I bricked my device. Now , when I switch-on it turns on but the screen shows black with backlight on. Sometimes , it shows lines on the screen but no logo or anything like that. The problem occured when I had installed Jellybean and then it never booted again.
I have factory cable now but don't know where to begin. Can anyone redirect me to any post which gives complete procedure how to unbrick the device?
Can I directly install jelly bean during this process.
Many thanks for your time and support.

Plug it into the your computer and then your KFHD. Fastboot should come on the screen. Now you know fastboot should be working on tablet. Now unplug and press the power button and hold for 30 seconds until the tablet powers off.
Now you want to head on over to the KFFA thread and read it a couple times. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888 Kindle Fire FirstAide will restore your tablet to stock (provided there are no major issues.) I would choose full restore to 7.2.3 because Hascode has a matching boot.img to make flashing a custom rom/twrp much less of a headache. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128848 All the way down to number 4. Not step 4 of number 2, but number 4. This is if you are going to flash the rom. Otherwise, use his thread to get a rom installed.
First though, after a full restore, go ahead and root and and remove OTA from KFFA as well. This will be done with the USB cord.
Now back to the rom install. should you want to use FireFlash and flash use the boot.img explained above and use the TWRP image he has too as it is optimized for KFHD 7. Make sure to drop the rom on the root of your SD card before flashing it in case you bootloop into TWRP. This way you have something to flash.

I tried to use the tool . After installing the tools and setting. I connected cable between KFHD and PC and I could see fastboot on the screen. After that I open KFFA tool and choose the options for recovery. However, once the message "daemon started successfully" , nothing happens.
What to do?
I waited for sometime but it seems nothing happens.

Hi,
I am trying to get CM11 on my Fire HD tablet (Tate). I started following the tutorial (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_tate) .
I went through all of the parts in step three but it says "If all has gone well, then your device should now be in recovery." My device does not go into recovery. The following step is an ADB push but that is not possible because I am still in the fastboot window.
A reboot brings me into an infinite boot loop which says Kindle Fire.
Any ideas what I should do? For the record, I think I had version 7.4.3
EDIT: I have the factory cable which allows me to get into Fastboot
Might be able to help.
i have 2 ideas that might work.
idea 1 will only work if you can see the blue kindle logo.
1) turn off device then turn back on (Reboot it xD)
2)When on the yellow logo hold the power up button (The one furthest away from the power button)
3)let go of it until the blue logo comes on
4)You should be in recovery now
if you are in recovery then just flash stock cm11
idea 2
1)Download this https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B4lZEJI5lYeMb1g5bW9tQW00LUE&export=download
2)go back into fastboot
3)Then open SRtoold.bat
4)select option 1
5)When that is done select option 4
6)Reboot device then it should boot up back into stock and you could try to flash cm11 again
Make sure you select option 4 after option 1 i did not do it (there was no tutorial on how to fix the problem i had so i did not know that i had to do it until i broke my kindle) if you don't you will stay in a boot loop i can not fix it because i do not have a way to get back into fastboot if you could send me a link to where you bought the factory cable that would be nice unless you made it yourself or you used adb to get into fastboot if so then unfortunately you need to buy a fastboot cable but i am unsure on which one to buy.
Edit: Just read the bottom of your post you do have a fastboot cable so you are fine.

I just got the tablet back and have successfully set up the kindle stock firmware thanks to your post.
I didn't notice your question about the cable, bought it on amazon, link below:

Are you in the US?

OK. I actually was able to put FireOS back on it but I am having trouble putting CM on it. I downgraded to 7.2.1 but that's as far as I got last night.
I'll try again tonight if I have some time.
Thanks again!

sorry for late reply but if you haven't fixed it by now then sometimes if you wait and leave your device on it will upgrade to the latest FireOs then after you can get TWRP again and CM.
Edit: I don't think there is any way of getting TWRP without upgrading because i think the whole reason you go into a bootloop was because TWRP does not support That Version Of FireOS

I haven't tried since. Do you know which files I need to download to work with the latest version? I did a lot of reading and trying and in the end I gave up because I didn't seem to get compatible downloads.
Thanks

Download that then open it up then whilst connected to ur pc and in fastboot type 2 then after that is done type 3 then 4 reboot the device and with in a couple of your kindle will start acting weird just restart it and it should be the latest Kindle Version There is no way of telling how long it will take to download i would wait until the kindle acts weird or after an hour reboot after its rebooted ur kindle will keep rebooting for a while (Maybe once)
I'm very glad to find this fresh thread! So I'm having pretty much the same problem. I have a Kindle Fire HD 7" (tate). It has never been rooted. Recently, I tried booting it after the battery ran very low, and it quit booting properly, instead it's doing the infinite logo "bootloop".
Fortunately, having a fair bit of Android experience, I own a Fastboot cable! So, I do have fastboot access, but no adb access.
Thus, I tried using fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000, as well as various versions of KFHD_SRTv1.x.x. (and various combinations of 7.2.1, 7.3.5, and 7.4.9 stock firmwares) (I'm unsure what version of firmwares was originally running.) Unfortunately, nothing has worked.
Is it possible that Amazon has blocked the ability to unbrick the bootloader, or that I need some other firmware version? I'm fine with recovering using custom firmware/recovery, but without ABD access, it seems my options are limited. Any advice?
It sounds like you're battery is too low to get a full boot. You may want to leave it on the charger overnight
