Is there anyone working on a root method for the v6 update?
My understanding is that fast boot doesn't work with froyo on this phone, and it's needed for rooting v6. also, that fastboot should work with gingerbread, and that root is expected to shortly follow any gingerbread release. (And also allow TheCubed to finish his CM7 port more easily.)

I flashed ROMOW's v1 ICS build but i've been having the issue with the home button. And yes I have gone through all the pages of the thread. I have tried reflashing several times. Moreso I'm having problems WITH the reflashing. When I try to reflash in CWM, it goes to installing update, and the bar just keeps going past the end point.
Also kernal developers, it would be so satisfying and a lot of people would be greatful if you can please develop a kernal for the ICS builds *cough* developer of AbyssNote *cough*
Edit: Sorry I meant to put this in the General section, not Q&A....
once the sources for the kernels are available then development on a specific ics kernel can start
seems like you have the same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1511934
Hello. I don't know if this is the correct forum to post my question (I would rather put it in the Android Development section) but as I don't want to contaminate the quality of that forum with (maybe) stupid questions, I will ask here. If a moderator feels it's not the right place, please feel free to movemy post wherever.
I started building Galaxy Note's (N7000) ICS kernel following the Howto from here XDA forum.
I am looking for the JB Kernel source at samsungs website but couldn't find it. Just ICS and GB versions. Where do the developers get the JB kernel source from?
I also would like to integrate CWM recovery on my kernel build, but couldn't find any info/howto/tutorial.
I guess I have to integrate the sources found at https://github.com/ClockworkMod/www.clockworkmod.com with the kernel. Could someone point me in the right direction?
I have Linux experience and had build custom kernels for my own computers, so that, linux batch scripting, C/C++ is no problem.
Thank you very much in advance.
I've just discovered the existence of ANT+ sensors which look like they can do great things for the cyclist.
They require a USB adapter and therefore a phone supporting USB OTG , which I believe has been enabled by some ICS roms.
It's been a while since I've been messing with alternative roms and I'm running an Alliance , darky derived rom currently. Could anyone advise on a good ORG enabled rom to try this with?
Would I also need to get around google play's device compatibility sensorship (w00t a pun!)
EDIT: jeex I've been out of the rom scene for a while, didn't even know about JBs! I want a stable rom though, are they safe?
Wrong section. Another one. Don't post in development section please. There's a general and Q&A section. -.-
