I dropped my HD2 and now i have a broken screen...but i can still see the wallpaper behind the broken screen and can use the hard button to receive calls.
Only thing that is not working is the Touch screen.
Now i dont know what to get...Should i first get the LCD screen and try to see if it'll solve all the problems...or should i get the digitizer? Or both?
Thanks
If the LCD is not broken then you need a digitizer. But the two are bonded together quite strongly, I am sure someone will tell you what to do for the best.
If you do get a new digitizer then you should make sure you get a T-Mobile one, the HTC ones have a different connector..
yes hello, big headaches here, bricked a g1 then got a hold of another g1 with cosmetic issues to use the motherboard, this new one was locked, so i unlocked it (using the trackball tho so i dont know if it also had a touchscreen issue to begin with)took the motherboard out of it and put it in my old g1 that i know for a fact had no touch screen issues, and now the touch screen is completely unresponsive in my original g1, so i took the mother board out again put it back in the one it came out of, and its touch screen is also completely unresponsive, my question is can the motherboard be the reason a touch screen isnt working? if so how and why?
also, the mother board i swapped works in my original g1, it has a signal, takes me to the touch the green android symbol to begin set up, also does this is the cosmetically challenged one i bought but neither one has any response to touch.
any help i would really appreciate.
thank you,
john.
Hey everyone!
Ive got a HTC Desire C and out of no where the launch bar on the home screen wont work at all.
Also to go with it, when using the keyboard certain buttons wont work in that same area.
I have tried factory reset, normal reset of phone, removing screen protector, etc....nothing works.
Any help would be amazing.

Sounds like a possible digitization fault, you can get this repaired under warranty normally depending on how old the phone is.
Hey guys so my D3 died a little while back as the touch screen is completely unresponsive and im trying to restore it to life. When it died it started slowly after I flashed droid steel ROM, at first the it worked fine after the ROM so it may have nothing to do with that, but about a day after having the ROM I went back to my backup of rooted stock ROM. then after a couple of days the LCD would not come on after having it locked in my pocket for a bit, at this point the touchscreen still worked and I could blind power it off and then back on and the LCD would come right back on. Then the touch screen would stop working when i slide the keyboard out until a power cycle, and now finally the device powers on but there is no touch functionality at all. Since then I replaced the main flex cable and used the stock unbrick to set completely back to stock and the touch screen is still a no go. The only thing i haven't done is replace the digitizer. Do you guys think the digitizer is the issue? or maybe the motherboard? The device has never had any water damage and has always had an otterbox on it so no chips to the outside either. Thanks
Probably is the digitizer.
Hi all. I need your assistance with my HTC one M7. It is running andriod version 4.3, htc sense 5.5, software number 3.62.531.1, htc sdk api level 5.65.
The problem i have is that the section of the screen just below the small icons at the very top ( battery status , wifi, signal, etc..) does not appear to be working when the phone is vertical. I can pull down the menu and all other parts of the screen work ok. When i turn the phone horizontal all section of the screen works perfectly...even those that do not work when the phone is vertical. The only app that seems to work full vertical is the camera...i have access to all buttons.
In vertical position when i open any of my web browsers i am unable to type in the URL...when i hit that section of the screen nothing happens. If i turn the phone horizontal it works! This is basically happening to all my apps. That little section of screen just not working. I though the phone may have been physically damaged but the camera works ok....i am able to use all buttons in vertical position. I tried resetting the touch calibration that did not help.
Please let me know if you can help me with this.

dial *#*#3424#*#* and do the touch screen test (line drawing test) If you can see that a part of the screen isn't responsive then its a bad digitizer and will need to be replaced.
Hi. Thanks much for the tip. I did the test and that part of the screen did not work. I guess its a physical issue. Do you know if it can be fixed or is the phone gone for good? If it can be fixed does it make sense to try to fix it or just replace the phone? I appreciate your advice.

Best Buy was clearing out their M7 stock for $149 .. their all over ebay now under $200 ..that should be cheaper than a screen replacement unless you still have a warranty
Thanks much.
