I have flashed V28G a few days ago and I found a small bug about wifi.
My home wifi has disabled the broadcast of SSID and I use the wifi provided in my university using 802.1x method.
When I turn on wifi on phone in school, although the SSID has been stored, the phone cannot automatically connect to that SSID.
I need to remove all my SSID stored and rescan the wifi network. After that, everything is normal.
Is there any workaround for this problem/bug?

Download and Install from Market WiFix manager using 3G, then change country code to where you live, then reboot .

Real fix for the problem with V28E&V28G is deleting every saved SSID from your wlan list and make them again.
That is caused by buggy google "recovery" about access points with V28E&V28G

Does anybode was another solution for that?
Is very anoying make this everytime we want to conect to a wlan with a special protection...
It should work normally after you once remove & reinstall all SSID:s from the list.
I just discovered that if I remove the SSID of WPA2 encryption, it can connect to SSID using 802.1x automatically!
So now I don't need to remove ALL SSID and them again.

Hi.
I recently bought my s730. Quite pleased with it, but one thing bothers me.
When i connect to my wlan at home (zyxel_2602hw_d1a WPA-PSK TKIP) i'm able to connect to the router, but I don't seem to be able to get an connection to anywhere outside my own network. I tried using Live Messenger, IE, Opera and Skype, but nothing happens.
When I'm using GPRS or EDGE it all works smoothly.
Any suggestions?
Do you have your connection set to automatic or only through your phone network? I have seen a few problems with that.
Also, double check that you are entering wep or any other security protocol correctly, took my 6 tries before it would work, it looked like it was connected to the network but it really wasnt (just personal experience with this phone.)

I do have the connection settings in both IE and Opera set to automatic. I's there somewhere else I have to change settings?
I'm quite sure i typed the password correctly. I also checked the client list on the router and the phone showed up correctly.
Gah, cant remember where I saw it but there was a setting in the phone itself for what to connect to.
Another thing to try under the wifi connection open your saved connection and go into it and see if you have it set to connect to the internet or just to the private network under "network type" in the Wi-Fi sub menu of Wlan settings. Its late and I cant think right, i'll see about checking more into it later...
I solved this problem - change your WLAN security on your WLAN router only on exactly MAC adressee (no any WEP) and your Wings is allowed to connect and all will be OK, work OK - Skype, IE, Opera. Problem was only to find MAC adressee my Wings
Wing + WRT54GL
Hi!
I have an S730 and a Linksys WRT54GL router. I've tried to use wlan with my phone, but it doesn't working. I want to use WPA2 with AES without Radius. Is the WPA shared key (router) same to network key(phone)? without security and encryption, it's working well.. I cannot see any syslog. That could be so easy..

I tried removing security for my phone MAC address, but there dosn't seem to be any options on my router allowing this. So I'm still stuck;-/

Did you check network settings? I mean e.g. if you don't use DHCP server and you didn't fill in right settings phone may connect to network but may not get outside. I know it can look like "lame" question, but sometimes even a master can do a newbie mistake..

usually it is in section WLAN Advanced setup - WEP Encryption - disable and in WLAN MAC Filters - active + allow asotiation with table of adress your Wings - aply . I have Zyxel Prestige 660HW.
I'm sure that DHCP is active, and that I get an IP.
I tried disabling security on my router, but same problem. Connects to my router, gets an IP but still nothing works

Your DNS are also provided automatically? Or could you ping (through some app) to any IP address of any server on the internet? If you succee, then we can look for a mistake with DNS.
Problem solved!!!
Okay. Found the cause for all my sufferings...
Power management. under WLAN-settings i changed power setting from power save mode to best performance...
thanks for all the help. hope next time I have a better question
wifi problem
hello everybody,i have tried several times to connect to my router at home but no chance at the end i got this warning saying:
cannot log on to the wireless network this network requires a personel certificate to positively identify you.
hello guys.
My HD7 cannot connect to wifi router. After putting in the password, it keeps trying to connect and after one min throws an error that sorry couldnot connect to the wifi connection. I am using a simple wifi router and not any N router
Authentication type is WPEA2
Thanks in advance
I found this article ( i am not allowed to post link) which says something about a bug in HD7 and venue pro which doesnot allow them to connect to wifi. Any workaround guys
Wifi problem...
Hi,
What is your network SSID name?
I had the wifi problem with my HD7 while my network SSID name had mixed capital and lowercase characters like "GedikNet"
Try to change your network SSID name to all capital or all lowercase characters. (like "gediknet").
Good luck.
Bye.
ssid is SHARAD. still unable to connect
can't have hidden ssid
Hi, if your network is hidden, unhide it. The darn thing cannot connect to a hidden network. I know it is extreamly annoying but that is what Bill-ware gave us.
Hopefully, they will fix it in the update.
Initial connection to my home Wifi was unsuccessful. I had to restart the router and all went fine. Setup: WPA2/AES, b/g/n mixed and SSID is not hidden. It is a Linksys/Cisco device. Check your MAC filter if it blocks your device. DHCP server has to be turned on.
Regards,
Cina.
i did not have an issue with the wifi router... all i had to do is get my mac id as i filter my pc, notebook and pda by mac id..
i heard the ssid must be visible it cant connect to those hidden ones...
maybe lowering the security level will help as well..
HAVE YOU resolve the problem? i can not connect my home wifi as well.
thanks
Seen an app in the HTC hub called hidden wifi but not sure if it helps

I'm getting WIFI connect..disconnect.continously (advanced settings set to NEVER off)
I just upgraded to a Virgin Media Superhub (WIFI and Cable modem built in)
I set the WIFI to "WPA PSK (auto)"
is this causing the problem
I am trying "WPAPSK2 AES" today to see if it fixes it?
Me and my house mate have a galaxy S and both phones are doing it.
is it my WIFI router or is it the Galaxy S's at fault here
apologies if this has been covered, i did a search but wasn't sure what to search for about this.
Cheers
@anyone
I tried WIFI tether and WIFI fixer apps but no joy
I had a WIFI connection before with my Netgear router in WEP. The super hub is a netgear router, i cant understand whats causing the problems.
its just connecting and disconnecting .
when ui set it up from scratch sometimes it works until i go out of range, then goes the connect disconnect route...
Also I unplugged the modem and turned SSID on (it found it and stayed locked) and then SSID off (it appeared to keep connection) ...? is this a clue as to why it keeps connect disconnect?
Any help welcome cheers
i solved this but I dont know how
i set up both to
WIFI to "WPA PSK (auto)
phone to wpa psk2
and then revealed the ssid in the modem. left it for a bit, then hid my SSID
it's worked properly for a few days now.
maybe it needed to do something to lock on?
....now if i could get my MMS working another story
I have the same problem... It's driving me crazy
all i know is this
get rid of juice defender if it's on
Turning The Virgin super hub on and off solves the problem temporarily.. faster than reboot the phone.
if your phone isn't rooted, don't enter the WIFI settings twice it can corrupt the wifi complexly needing a master reset!
also i set the Virgin hub to
WPA auto Broadcast SSID
also on Virgin Hub
settings
advanced settings
content filtering services
untick firewall and ip flood
i think broadcast SSID on your WIFI unit fixes it

are your setting for the phone and WIFI the same as the ones i posted above on the other posts?
I flashed CM7 and it works perfectly
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=galaxysmtd
give it a try...(you need to be rooted)
do you know your firmware version? i have the same problem. ive tested and the wifi sleep policy doesnt work at all!
my wifi reconnects every 59 seconds with sleep set to never. its the same with sleep set to never when plugged in. sleep when screen turns off doesnt work and is exactly the same, reconnects every 59 seconds and doesnt sleep at all. not as far as ive seen (watched for around a quarter of an hour before getting very bored). I dont know if this is anything to do with it but if you watch the WIFI scanning the Connection resets after every 10th scan. Im using a Belkin router but as said ive tried on several different WiFI connections and the drop out is always the same.
im using jvt firmware and semaphore kernel.
my phone was froyo before and wireless was fine before flashing.
ive spent a week on google with this. there are hundreds of threads and even vids on youtube. as yet though no fix.
ive changed router settings at home. with no improvement. the reconnection happens whenever im on wifi and i cant see mcdonalds letting me rummage through their router.
As far as i can figure the problem started in the jvs firmware. I havent tried jvs but there are a couple of google results saying that since updating to jvs wireless reconnects constantly.
same as above......
HELP!!!!!!!
Its driving me mad!
FIXED at home. Changed Belkin Routers Lease Time from "Forever" to "1 Hour". Guess outside connections will depend on what the Routers Lease times are set up as.
However the "Stop WiFi when screen turns off" still doesnt turn off Wifi at all (as far as I can see, as now tested for over an hour).

I have been having this strange wifi problem lately.. I am not able to connect to my home wifi network.
It says obtaining IP address but never connects.. This problem only occurred recently.. I was able use my home wifi before.
After googling around, i tried the following.
1. I went to advanced setting and used static IP. This time it got connected. But i was not able to connect to internet.
2. Did a factory reset.. Then flashed stock using ODIN. Still no luck.
3. I changed the encryption to WPA-PSK... Didnt work.
Can somebody help with this issue please?

I had this problem when I tried to update busybox. But since you have re-flashed stock.
Are you sure its a problem on your phone and not with the router? Try connecting to a different router.
Sent from my GALAXY Ace.
Remove the WiFi connection from your phone, click on forget.
On your router, from the configuration page, change the WiFi security to open then try connecting using phone.
If it works then remove connection from phone again (click forget), and configure your router to WPA or any other such algorithm. Then connect again.
My brother has this problem, have you tried other wifi networks? It may be able to connect to other routers. What does it say after "obtaining ip address", does it connect or do you get disconnected?

Hey bro , i tried what you say and there is no result unfortunately
I recently restored a backup of my AMCHA 4.4.4 rom (from p.a.n's CM13) and I can now not connect to any wifi network. It always sits on Obtaining IP address. If I select static IP and enter the details I can connect but not by using DHCP. Is there any way to fix/reset my wifi settings?
Thanks

Hi,
You should try several thnings:
1. In WIFI settings, forget your WIFI network and connect again
Or
2. Fix permissions of the file below using a root explorer app. Set 'read' and 'execute' for "user" and "group'" (and also maybe "others" if no luck)
system/etc/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-run-hooks
Then reboot the phone and try to connect to WIFI
Or
3. Reset your router

I have a wifi problem too, whenever I try to connect to it, it says saved. It doesn't even try to obtain an ip.
tried flashing stock multiple times but nothing worked. it's not a router problem as I changed my router and tried with multiple wifi networks, same thing is happening. dhcpcd-run-hooks already has read and execute for user & group. tried other but still doesn't work.
I think I messed up with the wifi settings using the xposed module "Phone ID changer" as when I try it launch it now, Advertising ID, wifi MAC and Wifi SSID is unavailable. The app can't assign a random one. I don't have a nandroid backup, my SD card got corrupted a while ago and I lost all my backups.
Do you know how to fix it?

I already had your issue a few times but after forgetting the network and connect to it again, problem was solved.... It seems to not be your case.
If you also have the problem with every router you can try (Wifi at home, at work, from a friend, etc.), it means the problem is your phone.
If you already tried all 3 suggestions of my post without luck and if you think something is messed up in WIFI settings, it means flashing official firmware + FULL WIPE should fix your issue.
If it's not the case, you should:
- Google a bit more (although I'm pretty sure you aleady did that...) because that's what I'm doing right now to help you.
- Ask yourself if it's not a hardware issue?
Sorry if I don't help much more. I really hope you will find the culprit :fingers-crossed:
Thanks for the suggestions, still can't get it to work on any network.
I wanted to avoid a full wipe, but i guess I'll give it a go. Cheers!
