Sense UI for Milestone (anyone tried it yet?)

Theres a sense ui rom that i found, looks like that the developer abandoned it, iv tried to port it into my milestone...but im just a novice user...so dont know how to tune the rom...hope some one here can further develop it...

the developer didnt abandon it, it just that it was a port from and HTC Desire, and porting a rom from GSM phone to CDMA is HARD!!
so his release is only in ALPHA not even beta yet.
i tried the past 2 versions and unless ur gonna partition ur sd card DONT bother!!!
its quite Pathetic how slow and unusable it is.
i just use froyo + HTC like clock widget, and thats enough for me

Begs the question are we talking about the GSM Milestone or the CDMA Droid since the OP asked about the Milestone....
And how does one port a ROM to a device with a locked bootloader in the first place?! (Kexec is yet to be up and running properly remember?) That could be a reason why the OP is having a hard time!!
I ask since there is also no Froyo on the Milestone until Motorola release it...

The issue actually has nothing to do with the bootloader but the radio libs. The Sense based builds make specials calls intended for an htc based ril. If the Ril doesn't know what to do with those calls there are all kinds of issues, as in the case of the droid/milestone.
Running a custom rom on the milestone is possible, in fact I had the latest CM compiled for the droid up and running on the milestone, but there were many many issues with it that I just couldn't work out.

actually is main flaw was that he used the Droid port in order to apply it to the phone witch litterally brick his modem ( sort of speak), he s worked around that and will be releasing this soon .

Yep, the modmymobile one seems the more promising but loop on the HTC logo for me too :/

It seems that only the creator succeeded in making work it, anyway looking at the videos he posted it seem pretty much fluid, even if it has some problems in landscape mode.
Hope he will fix it soon...

Landscape would not be a problem for me. But it's weird it works on its Milestone and not our :/

Won't be a problem for me either, but it's very strange that it works only on his device :/
He also posted that reflashing the .36 ROM and applying the customisation led to another different result (works but not as fast as the previous try) :S

[Q] HORRIBLE camcorder quality!

Hey everyone. This is only my second post here (I usually use google to solve all of my problems) but I can't figure this out for the life of me. I rooted my phone a couple months back, and flashed Cyanogenmod 6. All was well, except I noticed the camcorder's quality went from OK to dreadful. I figured "okay, maybe it's the ROM. I'll flash AOSP 0.9.9.2."..... no luck, same problem. And in AOSP, the camera app also crashes sometimes. Does anyone have an idea of what could be going wrong? Thanks in advance!

This is because the working camera driver for custom builds is a hack at best. Until one of the later patches, it would cause the camera force-close on double-tap zoom. It's mostly stable on the camera side now (although picture quality still doesn't match the stock firmware), but the camcorder size has a lot of room for improvement.
Hopefully one day someone will step up and finish the job (or one day I'll stop being lazy and do it).

actually, my phone was so slow stock i couldn't send an sms message without keyboard lag.
i'm willing to sacrifice some stability for a major increase in performance.

did u ever do the software update because it fixed that

The latest OTA updates brought bugfixes and improvements in speed. I would highly recommend revisiting the stock firmware if you haven't used the latest updates.
If you're looking to make it snappier, I would suggest the ZenKernel or even the DecaFuct kernel if you don't mind it breaking your trackball backlight.
I was serious about the stock firmware being the most stable. I'm running it myself (albeit with an overclocked kernel), and the only issue I've found with it so far is that Facebook for HTC Sense is no longer able to sync contact photos (probably due to a Facebook API change). CM7 on the Hero still has many issues to be fixed.

Problems with any 2.3 Rom when I flash it.

Hey everyone, I'm not really new to these forums. I've always came here looking for new stuff and/or help with existing problems. I've fixed plenty of problems I'v had in the past by not being a noob as you all say. I do my research and I've come to the conclusion, I cant fix this next problem. Looked here and other forums and tried what they recommended and I've gotten no where.
Here's the problem.
Was on DroidLife's website and saw that the Dinc had a 2.3 leak and I could put it in my phone that same time. So I did. Had no problems. Everything worked. No bugs. No data issues.
Since knowing that there was a 2.3 leak, I came here to see what the fine and awesome developers have come out with. I really liked Kingdom Stock GingerSense 3.0. So I DL'd it and did the whole procedure to the T to flash it.
I was playing around with it and I when I was texting my wife, who also has the same ROM AND phone as me, wasnt getting my texts.
I did a lil trial and error. I came to the conclusion it was my phone and not hers. I also noticed I CANT text anyone in the Verizon network. IE. My wife and her family. I can text my buddy on AT&T all the way on the east coast.
I saw a thread about APN stuff. So I reverted back to the liberation ROM, the stock sense 2.2. The texting all worked again. So I used APN BACKUP&RESTORE and backedup's the APN setting and then I re flashed Kingdom stock gingersense 3.0. So as it was up and running I restored the APN settings and nothing is working.
I've searched all that I could and I'm hoping any or all of you awesome people here can provide a brother some help.

So when you flash another Rom everything works? When you say nothing works can you get into hboot. What radio are you running and what clockwork. I know your not a noob but let's trouble shoot. If you restore stuff from 2.2 that doesn't work or isn't compatible with 3.0 it wont work.

This' the Development section. Mods'll move it to the correct section.
It may have to do with the fact that some of the 3.0 ports are GSM and for optimum results you should use a CDMA ported ROM.

How many posts would you like to have before posting a apk?
Both apks are from feiyu. (Thanks a lot!)
This camera is working for me in Avatar 3.0 and in 3.1.
I have only replaced this apks and the camera is working well.
Maybe that the camera is working on CM10.1 to.
Try it or not.

Chill, see no evil, you need to understand that there is a huge risk of flashing custom/moded apps from unknown parties and a relative unknown user with only 1 post well you qualify as a risk.
Anyway thank you for sharing, so far the JB camera ported from LG G by feav is really really bad full of problems, but the one from ICS stock ported and moded by him also, works great. Let me try yours and see whats new because CM10 camera kinda sucks... and I don't know why, CM7 camera worked really good.

Frozen app many times especially after the first picture, reboots while using it or having it open and latter unable to open, have to clean apps data and cache but problems returned after a while, also conflicts with CM camera.
I gave an opportunity because I used ICS camera by feat and worked GREAT, tried the JB port and it shows it wasn't made for tegra 2 or our optimus 2X, went back to the ICS camera and I'm as happy as I can be, the only think I can ask is to delete CM camera but without loosing gallery.apk

I have installated the port and this work well on the avatar 07/08/13. No bugs for me.
But i'm back GB because camera Gb is the best for now.

Multiple text messages on custom Cyanogenmod image

Hi guys,
I built my own version of Cyanogenmod from source using the latest stable sources, but I'm having the issue of multiple text messages being sent on Sprint. Did I miss a fix or commit somewhere? I know this was fixed a while back, but I'm thinking I missed something while building the ROM. Any help I could get would be fantastic.

IIRC this has something to do with the ROM not "seeing" the Country code

Hm, didn't know that was a thing. Not sure how to go about fixing it, but nothing a little digging around can't fix.

Well, apparently that was an old issue. I am aware of the fix that was implemented in lollipop, just not sure what could be going on in the marshmallow version. Maybe some fix that google never released to AOSP. Gonna keep digging
