Hi,
As I changed my Gel case for a thin TPU one, I now have a small problem
I'm using a budget screen cover and all around it, there is a 3 to 5 mm zone where there isn't any protection.
I didn't notice it earlyer as the case was a lot more thick...
Could you please advise me a clear screen cover which is closer to the border of the phone ?

The pic isn't great, but shows the problem

Funny just received my skinomi for note 2, it covers the entire screen. S-pen works, don't press to hard to void the squeak.
I have used skinomi for every gadget I own, but I since I have a cruzerlite case I need a screen protector that does not cover the entire screen.

OK one for skonomi
Anyone else?

You may want to check out the Just Like Glass. I haven't seen or used it myself, but the CEO does come on here and discusses the product.
From what he says, it's designed to leave 1/16" around the phone so people can use it with cases, such as a TPU, and not have the case push on the edge of the protector, per user requests. Sometimes, the cases push the protector up, which can lead the dirt getting under it or peeling.
I'm going to order one when they become available again, which is expect next week. I'm coming from using Zagg protectors the last four or so years.
That sounds great! Exactly what I need. I'm gonna have a look at it

Most screen protector manufacturers don't go all the way to the edge because of the rounded glass samsung used. I can attest to this, you don't want a protector up that far on the glass, because it will peel after a few times going in and out of your pocket. I only had this happen with wet application protectors (Ghost Armor and Zagg HD are two I used, both failed). I switched to SGP's Ultra Crystal, which feels like the original glass and doesn't reach the rounded part.

I just got it, best case ever. Feels very good, very safe. Will be posting video review up later for those interested.

And don't forget the useless plastic screen protector. Got my glacier Defender this Saturday, went through 3 at local Verizon store - all have the same problem with a gap underneath of plastic screen protector. Completely kills the experience using touch screen. Plus, s-pen left marks on the plastic screen, couldn't even wipe them off easily. The same problem described in every review on Amazon, and other forums/posts. Yes, you can punch it out (use hair dryer to soften up glue and push it out), but what a disappointment with Otterbox rushing this release. I called them up, they created a case for replacement since I was hoping their manufacturing process was corrected. But it sounds like they are having delays and I might not get a replacement in time before my 2wk store return period is over. So, I'm returning it back and will wait for Defender v2, whenever its available lol!!! Right now, the only case I'm looking forward to is UAG! But unfortunately its on back order

The glacier defender is brilliant! Yes, the screen protector sucks, but I have always been under the impression that everyone removes that and uses a stand alone screen protector.
The defender with the Zagg invisible shield hd is proving to be a perfect combination for me.

But wouldn't removing the screen protector will void the warranty? Then, if you have an issue with your case (outer rubber part or inner plastic case, interlocking tabs, etc.) - how would you send it back w/o screen protector? and if you save it and glue it back, wouldn't they notice it?

As far as I know, that is not how Otterbox does business. Mind you, I have never returned a product to them for a refund but I have had about 6 replaced over the past few years. (for different devices)
They do not require that you send the product back to them for a replacement. If you file an online claim they will ask for pictures of the case.. But by calling them to file a claim, I have never had to send pictures.
Their customer service is outstanding.
And if you've had the case for more than 6 months they are more than willing to provide a replacement.
Popping out the included screen protector doesn't rid the shell of the glue.. So if you save the protector, you could stick it on and make it look like it is still attached, if they need pictures.
I'm perfectly happy with the protection so far, getting used to the screen protector. I'm not really falling for the urban armor guard.

I am wondering, is the otterbox the best screen protector for protection? It seems like it is, since it sits off the screen, and would be really hard to scratch, but is a DBA or Amzer, or one of the just like glass ones better? just wanted to see people's opinions,
Thanks,
Pretty much I want BEST drop/scratch protection!
I ordered a voyager 2 tempered glass screen protector. I HATED that built in screen protector and the plastic protectors don't work for me so well since I work and go to school in full fluorescent lighting. Should be here in a week.

I wouldn't dream of any other case than Otter Box. I've had one on each of my Notes and one on a work phone. Keeps phones in pristine condition.

Top bulky for me I'd rather break my phone on one drop than hide it that much. I use just like glad easy install, that is if You aren't bugged by a wet install. The only thing is it has a rainbow effect to it with the screen off only though so it's not that bad .

I use both the JLG and Defender protectors at the same time. No issues.
The main issue with the Defender is that the gap between the home button can allow dust/sand/grit to get under the protector and scratch it up. The JLG prevents that Also if I swap cases for whatever reason, the screen will still be protected.
I bought a 5 pack or regular ones off amazon and the work great. Had an otterbox but it seemed like the screen protector was super thick.

What are the best options for screen protectors right now? Has anyone tried the spigen ultra crystal for the g2, i have had good experiences with them in the past. I know that with my galaxy nexus the glass was curved so much that a normal screen protector couldn't fit across the entire screen and the wet apply screen protectors were a mess and looked horrible. Does the g2 have the same problem?
I was wondering the same thing. Anyone bought a screen protector they're happy with? Not a big fan of the wet application type
I used one of the wet application ones from Phantom Skinz (sp?) on my Nexus. It worked so well that I plan on ordering one for the G2.
I actually got the ones from T-Mobile and was quite surprised on how much I like them! They are a dry application, very easy to install, not sticky at all (feel very much like the natural surface before the screen protector), and what I like most...very, very clear and fingerprint and smudge resistant. The only downside is they are a little bit more than I usually spend on screen protectors, $17 for 2.

Wow that seems like a good sign, the best screen protector is one that you can't tell is on the phone. I'm curious, how much of the screen does it cover and do you have any pictures of it installed that you could share?
I got the only one that AT&T stocked. It's a glossy as opposed to an anti glare but the fit and finish is spot on and I can't even tell it's there. Very pleased.
/except for the glossy part
I picked up a few screen protectors from xtreemguard .com. pretty much the same thing as best skins ever. Used code fall80 for 80 percent off. Order was 3 bucks for shipping and two screen. Shipping was fast. Not amazing but definitely the best under $10.
I'm currently rocking the XOSkins wet application screen protector and like it so far.

I have the iloome flex tempered glass screen protector on order so I picked up the Supershieldz off ebay (6 for $5 shipped) as a hold over. They're dry application, fit well, and have decent clarity. Probably not terribly different from most plastic films, but man it hazes up from fingerprints like nothing else. I cleaned it off today with rubbing alcohol and it has already picked up some mild scratches. Guess you cant expect too much for less than a buck per screen protector.

I use the Spigen Ultra Crystal. My third phone whith them. Would not use any other. It actually seems just a tad small but I guess that leaves room for a case. It leaves about an 1/8 of an inch around the sides.
I use to pay the big money for ZAGG. When I bought my G2 (9/12) there wasn't anyone that had screen protectors, so I bought the 3 pack from VZW. I still have the first one on, and no issues. Paid like 10 bucks. It works fine for me.

I bought the overpriced crap from Verizon and they just peeled up with the gel case I bought from them too. Ordered the 80% off xtreme skins or whatever they're called and they're great. Fit nicely under the case. Only gripe I have is the screen isn't as slick as the ones from Verizon or the actual screen.
Well this time I just tried a bit different.... its not Zagg one...its not Spigen..but this time I tried Privacy at Fommy.....
heard a lot about it from one of my friend and after wearing it on my G2.. I can say that the thing it says..it delivers..now I can easily check out my official mails at crowded place and am not worried about the guys standing around me as its not visible to them..that is something I really like about it and moreover it is very finely gripped on the phone and does not even give the feel as If I have placed something on the screen.....I know its quite new one but I am liking this product...
Go with the iloome tempered glass protector I had one on my note 2 it works great and it curves to the edges

Just wanted everyone to know that I picked up these from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EL94VPQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and although they fit well, the adhesive is too weak and they are slightly too big. The is a little lifting around the edges but the poetic case does not interfere with it.
I use these:
http://www.techarmor.com/by-device/...acement-warranty-3-pack-retail-packaging.html
Easy to install and the edges do not interfere with my VZW shell/holster case. Been using on my N7 with poetic case for several months and still looks beautiful. Comes with lifetime guarantee too.

Scare that the screen will be cracked and I don't want to use the flip case. I wonder is that necessary to use the screen protector like this :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...otectors&var=460214742391&hash=item25833c60f5
it looks really good but the problem is will it too thick? and the price is seriously too high (for a screen protector).
Any suggestion?
But the glas.tr on amazon. It's tempered so if you drop the phone the screen protector might crack but your actual phone screen won't. Check some YouTube videos. Extremely durable.

It's a good glass protector albeit at the typical high price. No regular screen protector feels as smooth as a tempered glass protector but you'd have to wait for the generic ones to show up on ebay if you're looking for a lower price.
I think a good Screen protector is definitely worth it. when I got my Note 2 last year I didn't use a screen protector and chipped my screen within a week of getting it.

Ya, I check couple of youtube that's awesome to watch they use screw and hammer try to destroy it
Thanks for remind me it also sell on amazon and their company locate in CA which pretty closed to me!
I had one on my last device. Dropped it pretty nasty on concrete and while the Glas.Tr screen protector cracked in the corner, the device's screen was minty fresh and had no damage. If you drop your phone as often as I do, it's definitely worth it. I'm waiting till they officially release from Spigen on Amazon so I can use Prime on it.
Are the people on Amazon crying about bubbles popping up after a few weeks with the GLAS protectors typical morons, or is it not just a matter of user error?
Both lol they work fine. Ams Definitely worth the money

i am looking for suggestions for a thin case that covers the body and have s-view window...
any suggestions ?
Spigen bounce for me. Its thin and form fitting around all the corners. Only problem is 2 color choices, black and grey (light black).
Costs more than a generic tpu case but it looks and feels better.

It makes the phone even slippier
Would not buy again

I could have told everyone about the spigen neo hybrid from my experience with their S4 case. It's one of the most overrated cases on the market, I'm not sure why people love it so much.
It looks and feels much cheaper in person than in pics and it makes the phone much bulkier and wider than it needs to be. And it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is.
Thumbs way down, I will never buy a spigen again.

If you want a fairly inexpensive no frills case, check out the one from Caseology. I got one for $3.50 on a deal from slickdeals and it's a great case with decent protection for the price. Even at the regular $8.50 price I would say it's well worth it.

Cool. What about screen protection??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I'm using an iSmooth screen protector. Application was the smoothest of any screen protector I've used so far - but I don't know how much of that is just practice applying them. The screen looks beautiful, with no rainbow patterns, and grease resistance is good (the Spigen ones I used before on my original note, I had a harder time of applying, and both Crystal and Oleophobic ones accumulated grease like nobody's business, particularly the supposedly oleophobic one, and the crystal had slight rainbow patterns visible in the right light).
As for cases, I'm not using one; I don't like the added bulk from them - I instead used Sugru to mold little bumpers directly on the corners of the phone. The corner around the S-Pen is kinda tricky, since there's what looks like a mic on the long side, and very little space between the pen and the speaker on the bottom. I used 3 little pieces of sugru around there. I also put a little bumper below the volume rocker, so I can quickly find the volume buttons when the phone is in my pocket. The sugru comes off cleanly (scrape it off with a fingernail). It lasts pretty well, but it will need to be redone at least once during a two year contract, more if the phone is handled roughly.
Thoughts on the S view case?
I think Im mostly concerned with the glass cracking than anything else...
Right now i am rocking the Incipio DualPro case and am waiting for a case from Cuzerlite to come in.
I got the Tudia Melody and it's perfect. 8 bucks to boot. It adds a nice grip to the phone and covers up the chrome lining on the front. You know the part that looks terrible even with a minor scuff? No screen protection except for the raised edges.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
If you want protection and don't mind added bulk the Otterbox Defender is the only way to go. I personally have large hands and prefer the thickness and bulk the Defender adds. Plus you can throw it at a wall and it will not hurt the phone. The built in screen protector is hard plastic and will protect from most surface scratches. Of course direct impacts to the screen will almost always break it on large device like this and there is no case or protector that protects from direct impacts. So for screen protection you just have to take what you can get.
For me the Ottorbox has been the only way to go for my last five phones.
@Solarenemy68 while last year me would agree with you, I found another case company called trident with a similar design.
