Hi everybody,
Phone Model: Samsung Galaxy S I9000
Made in Country: Korea
Current ROM: 2.3.6 (i flashed this OS by Odin). Baseband: I9000JVU. Karnel: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVT-CL617736 # k16-11
Build: Gingerbread.XXJVU
Internal Memory: 16GB
Listening Music, Capturing Photo and Video, wifi, Btooth, etc are OK.
Current PROBLEMS:
1. Force Close Box Shows at start-up.
2. After Start-up maximum programs r shown on menu but not run. (example-air control lite, aldiko ebook, allshare, angry birds etc).
3. Internal memory is anyhow fixed(1.4 gb used, 12.4 gb free), not deleted anythings, no pasted on it, not formated.
4. Restarting Several times in a day.
5. Outgoing Call is ok but incoming call is not OK. when a call is made to this no, only a ringtone is heard for 1 second and then the network signal is vanish, then after a few second the network come again.
6. Mobile tracker is on, i can not off. i dont know the 8 digit code.
Solution i HAVE TRIED:
1. Flashed by ODIN with Froyo(2.2.1), Gingerbread(2.3.6, 2.3.4)(PIT, CSC, PDA, PHONE).
2. Flashed by Heimdall with GB and Froyo.
3. Format internal SD with PC by USB storage, BY Phone Settings, By CWM recobery option, By normal recovery option, by PC with MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 7.1. Also tried with Convert to rfs/ext4 by cwm speedmod karnel. BUT I CRIED and crying, no result, old files r back as king stupid.
What should i do? I hope there will be the right person who can solve the problem. BUT i dont know who is THE BOSS.

You can try flashing a jellybean or ICS ROM. That's not a solution, but a good workaround.

Yes I will agree try to upgrade your firmware to either custom Rom > ics or jellybean..
If problems persist then you might have hardware or software problems..

Odin is only used to flash stock ROM eg froyo, gingerbread
To flash ICS or JB you need working memory, because you flash from recovery.
Not long ago I had a problem with my phone. Only stock ROMs worked, ICS and JB bootlooped and I couldn't use the internal memory. I saw it in file managers and Windows, but I couldn't create our paste any file onto it. It turned out to be faulty internal memory, which just died. I gave it to a Samsung repair centre and after 2 days they fixed it.

Thanks all of you. I think my device is dead anyway

am sry if this is a repost i actually searched but couldn't find a post ,
well i flashed my galaxy tab with gingerbread 2.3 everything seems fine but the only problem is that the internal sd card memory just shrinked to 209 mb instead of 16 gb plz any help would be appreciated
Let's see if I can help you, but first can you provide more details on what actual version of GB you flashed and how you flashed it (ODIN or official signed zip)?
first of all i tried the honeycomb by spacemoose1 and after the reboot just got a blank screen so i then flashed this file P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJPZ_HOME.tar with P1_EUR.pit as pit file which should have gave me the gingerbread and it does but the 16gb just shrinked to 209 mb
from where u got this pit file ? is not for this rom and for ginger
u need to flash stock froyo with pit to solve this bloody issue and then pleas use one of samfirmware.com gb roms without pit file as inside the tar "rom" there is pit file
chhers
Sort of what I was going to suggest...

thanks bro for ur advice , but all am confused of now is finding the right froyo stock rom with compatible pit file , cuz don't wanna loose my tab for another foolish trial , may u help me on this , and thanks in advance
i got this link hxxp://droidangel.blogspot.com/2011/05/all-samsung-galaxy-tab-froyo-22-and.html but it has a lot of versions and firmwares am i supposed to choose one of them if yes , according to what am i supposed to shoose it ?or just anyone of them will work ?
i think that P1000JPJis wat i need since am in arabic region, will it b fine to flash this version of froyo ?
Personnally I would go for the P1000XWJJ7 (not the NEW) which appears to actually be JJ5. I found that Kies actually recognized this as a valid version.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
so u prefer that i go for the P1000DDJJ5 P1.PIT Version 2.2 October 2010 ?
is this wat u meant by (not the NEW)?
On the list from the link that you sent there are two XWJJ7 roms - I recommend the 1st one; I've tried them all and this was the best one with an unlocked bootloader.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
ok after i get the rom what is the best way to flash it ?
open odin, load it in the pda area , check repartition and hit start , after finishing wipe the cache and do hard reset from the recovery mode , that's it ? don't i need to load a certain pit file ,
also i've been told that pit file is used to repartition the internal memory of the tab so wondered if there a certain pit file that can repartition my tab
Yes, except that you should use the associated PIT (P1_add_hidden ) file for that rom as that was probably what went wrong last time - the internal memory wasn't partitioned correctly for the GB release.
did the whole process as k0sh said still the same problem ,the firmware is working perfectly and smooth btw i realized the device memory (1.19gb ) is intact and working all the problem in the USB storage memory instead of being12.8 gb it is 209 mb
Did you flash a stock Froyo release together with the associaated PIT file and with Re-Partition ticked, using Odin3 v1.70?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
ya i did exactly what u r saying but unfortunately still 209 mb :S:S
Mmmm.... my next step then would be try and flash a safe stock gingerbread rom as provided by the Overcome development team. Don't flash the overcome rom itself (unless you want too) but just flash the safe stock GB to see if it returns your onboard SD memory.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
and that's exactly what i did and it solved the whole sh*t , thanx man for helping throughout this issue, and of course thanx to the overcome team for such rom
Glad to hear it, enjoy.
I have a Galaxy S currently on Gingerbread 2.3.4, a Samsung ROM that I found on a forum, loaded with Odin.
It's version: I9000XXJVP
Kernel; 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVP-CL264642 #2
Build: GINGERBREAD.XXJVP
I usually load many software and games on my phones, and the suspect is that is always something of these that bring problems, not the Operating System Itself. Maybe some software in nor written very well.
So the problem is that the phone sometimes "die" during the day.
I took it out of my pocket, it should be in standby, but when I press the home button or the on/off button on the side, nothing happens, it remains black.
The only way to have it working again is take the battery out and restart.
It is not a "low battery" problem, and it seems not to be related to some specific software that I use or have used during the day. This lock don't happen every day, and sometime happens even if I have not used any software (just Gmail, phone, or other "stock" functions)
I had other problems with this Firmware, sometime loosing memory or becoming slow, and a good solution I found was to schedule a complete restart every morning at 6:00. I still have this reset running, and it seems a good thing. But even this cannot be related with this "lock" problem.
What do you think ?
Thank you
Ser
I'd reflash the rom again bud to see if it is a firmware issue

Try flashing latest version of gingerbread XXJVR.The firmware that ur using has this bug and even when i was using XXJVP,i use to get this problem. So get the XXJVR firmware from ramad thread and flash it
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Thanks Androiderrr.
Please give me a link to this "Ramad thread" where I can get the JVR.
I think I should load with Odin ?
Another question, if you can help:
when I change firmware it seems to me that the (5,7 Gb) internal memory is not cleaned, right ? I always find pieces of soft installed in previous rom....
Which is the best way to "start clean" when upgrading firmware?
Thanks !
Ok iam providing you link.Download stock XXJVR.When u will unzip it,you will find 3 files(PDA,PHONE,CSC).Now while flashing throug odin just replace CSC file of XXJVR with any CSC file of other gingerbread ROM.Like you can use CSC file of XXJVP.It is beacuse XXJVR was released for swisscom oprator and if u will use CSC file of original XXJVR then you will get custom swisscom boot animatiln

Now comming to ur question of fresh flashing. All you can do is take following steps
1)First backup ur apps.Use my backup(root) from market. If ur not rooted then use my backup(it comes with 30days trail and donot require root permission). Also backup ur music, videos and important files from internal memory to pc
2)Now take out ur sim card and external sd card.
3)Now hard reset ur phone by dialing *2767*3855#
3)After this reboot into revovery(switch off ur phone and press volume up+home key+power switch). Now do factory reset and clear dalvic cache.Reboot
4)Now flash ROM using Odin.Remember when ur using 3 files to flash like (pda, phone and csc) then always use .pit files(512)
5)After flashing again, reboot into recovery and do factory reset and clear dalvic cache
Enjoy

Hello guys,
I'm currently on:
Froyo 2.2
Kernel 2.6.32.9
#91
FROYO.JPJPG
I want to upgrade to RemICS v1.3 (ICS 4.0.4), and my phone is already rooted, so my questions are:
A. Do I need to upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.3 first?
B. Do I need to use ODIN in order to upgrade the Kernel to ICS as well as the ROM.
C. I've almost consumed most of my internal SD memory, so if I do a Nandroid Backup; where would it be stored? and would it include the apps as well as the data, or just the basic data without the apps?
I'm leaning more towards using ODIN than to put the ROM on my SD card, so that if something goes wrong I can flash it directly from there again.
I appreciate your help.

First flash GB rom (best to do via odin). Kernels are usually included within rom so you don`t have to worry about that.Nandroid will be stored on sd but you can move it to your external sd or computer. If you`ll need it later for restoring you`ll simply put it back on int sd. Nandroid does complete picture of your phone, so everything will be backed up. BUT! You can not use nand restore done in GB directly from ICS. You`ll have to go back to GB rom before preforming it.
1. Yes. You need the gingerbread boot loaders.
2. Also yes. You will need Odin a second time to flash an ics kernel with cwm in order to flash the pics zip.
3. A nandroid does everything. Literally. Do one of them, go to another rom, when you come back its exactly as before. Down to the wallpaper and homescreen layout and wether Wi-Fi was on/off for example.

You don't actually need gb bootloader to go to ics, but I recommend it as if anything goes wrong it means as easy reflash to gb , rather than going back to froyo, gb bootloader are needed to get onto cm7, which is where the confusion lies
I made the leap to GB 2.3.6 using Odin. Amazing difference from that stupid Froyo. I'm enjoying GB right now until I find a solid stable ICS.
Thank you guys for the info.

If you want stable ICS I recommend ics333 extreme. Worked flawlessly on my good ol` s1. Since I bought s3 don`t know really how is with development on that rom but you can check it out on forum. Many different roms and ppl with different taste out there. Almost everyone has his favorite. This one worked really good for me.
I upgraded last night to Jelly Bean using these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775373&page=11 . The last ROM i had flashed was a gingerbread Apex ROM a long time ago, and I think it had i9000 bootloaders (I think this because an i9000 screen pops up first thing when i turn it on, before the devil kernel logo pops up). I ran in to some issues while upgrading so I used Heimdall 1 click without bootloaders to get me back to stock gingerbread and then when I flashed Jelly Bean and the Devil Kernel everything worked (camera, music, etc.) except it doesn't detect any wireless carrier, APNs aren't saved, it doesn't detect when I take my SIM card out, and it also shuts down randomly. I suspect the problem is with the i9000 bootloaders, but what I have read on this forum makes me think installing new bootloaders is somewhat dangerous so I wanted to get advice before I tried anything else. How should I try to fix this? And if I do need new bootloaders, what is the safest way?
Thanks

Will do as soon as I get home from work. Should I use the same Heimdall method?
While you are in Ginger Bread, you should back up your EFS Folder. I believe that your IMEI was changed in the flash process, and the network could not recognize your phone. In should a case, you could copy the backup of your EFS folder to your JB phone, and restore the IMEI.

I used titanium backup before I flashed, and also copied all of the contents of my internal and external sd cards to my computer before tinkering with things. So do I already have my EFS Folder? If so, how do I restore it? And if not, how do I back it up when I get back to GB?
For anyone else that might come across this problem, I solved it by flashing this modem, then flashing the kernel again

You do not want to go to ICS, risk of bricking.
For the rest, i have no idea what you are talking about.
@Srajal Ag you can root your phone and then you would have access to Data folder under which you would find logs and lost+found which creates lots of files and takes up the space, you can delete them once you have root access. You can search for Dr. Ketan's thread on how to root. you need philz kernel (.zip version) matching your build number, put the .zip file on external sd card and reboot to recovery (volume up+power+home button) and from there flash the .zip file and you should have cwm and root. Then you can install any file explorer like root explorer grant root access to it and delete those files at the said location above.
