[Q] Cannot Pair With Apple Device - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
So I'm running Apocalypse ROM, and I've run into a few problems with bluetooth. However, it doesn't seem to be limited to the rom, as my friends with the same phone also have this problem. Usually I end up transferring files via Bluetooth (to other Android devices), if we aren't connected to wifi.
However, it seems as if I cannot connect to any Apple iOS device. I'm connecting it the usual way (turn on bluetooth, scan for devices, select pair, enter passkey on both devices, and then pair). The connection seems to fail when trying to connect to the Apple device, even when they're right beside each other.
The Apple device displays the following: "Connection Unsuccessful: Make sure (device name) is turned on and in range."
Solutions? I'm not sure if this is an issue with Android, or Apple. (I should also mention that I've experienced this also on HTC devices, and not just the Samsung Galaxy Ace).

Apple allows data transfer via bluetooth?

I think Apple device don't allow pairing with other devices like phones or pc but only with audio devices. To pair your iPhone with another device to exchange files you have to jailbreak the iPhone and install an app trough Cydia that allows you to do so.

bluetooth obex

What can I do with bluetooth obex?
Anyone else not able to search xda using the stock g1 browser?
with bluetooth obex you can send and receive files via bluetooth as long as both devices are rooted.
both devices have to be rooted? Perhaps I am reading into that too much but you can't mean we can only share with other android phones right?
I saw it says bluetooth FTP... which made me wonder if I was missing something, like if I could do stuff with my computer remotely. What is the significance of FTP on this apps name *when you open it*.
Sorry, would be nice if you could search on here using the G1s browser.
Bluetooth File Transfer Protocol meaning its a program used to transfer files over the Bluetooth Frequency.
so it is android to android only then?

Nope, I connected to my iMac. It can share with any other device that has the bluetooth file sharing enabled/available.

connected to my friends nokia 6265i ... its a regular phone not a smartphone .. was able to view his files and everything ... loving the new bluetooth app
ok so then how do you enable the file sharing etc on android ? I was trying to test with a friend of mine who has an android, and was unable to find the setting any ideas? thanks!
Yeah, my buddy has an iPhuckinsuck, we let our phones become available, we scanned, we paired, but then we could not connect, even after I entered the correct PIN for his phone.
Perhaps I just don't know how to connect, but I have yet to connect with a phone correctly. Same scenario with my wife's BB. Could not connect.

WP8 Nokia BT file transfer

Okay seriously!! I have not been able to share photos with anybody at all via BT, WTF? What is the use to have this feature at all? I am however able to receive from other devices but that is it. Like today I was able to receive content from a cheap Cricket Wireless phone but not send to it???? I've tried various phones including a Blackberry and an iPhone (which I know that iPhone blocks this). The only way I can send and receive via BT is from a laptop and that's it!!!! This is worse than the DFT hack version of BT file transfer.

You can only transfer from WP8 to WP8 and expected to support all other platform free support in future updates.

What the? Are you serious? I don't know anyone else besides myself with a Windows Phone; and I am not just saying that. So who am I supposed to share content with via Bluetooth? OMG, out of the 600 + employees at work I'm the only one with a WP8 device.
Are you kidding ?????
I can send any pictures via bluetooth from my Lumia 820 to any device with bluetooth. You first need to pair your WP8 phone with the device to which you want send file and accept data transmission. Before the moment I checked with the Nokia E52 - works as it should.
I just sent a Picture from my Lumia 920 via Bluetooth to my SGS2 and it worked just fine. I actually don't know what issue you are running into but the OS and Nokia device support this just fine.
What's not working is initiating BT File Transfers using NFC with an Android device. If you use regular Bluetooth for sharing there shouldn't be any issues. Another problem ist the iPhone but that is due to the fact that the iPhone does not support the standard OBEX object push protocol for Bluetooth (which is what basically everyone else is using).

Hum, that is strange. I don't get it then. It must be specific to the 822 or something.

Yea, on this last phone it tried it on it even had the option to enable OBEX; I paired the phones and everything and the other phone was able to send to my Windows Phone but anytime I tried to send something it would say error, the connection was lost even though they were connected.
I didn't even pair the phones - just set the SGS to be visible via Bluetooth, on the Lumia selected a picture to send via Bluetooth, it found the SGS and I said send. The SGS then asked if I wanted to receive the data which I confirmed and some time later the transfer was done and I was able to open the image without any problems.
What have you been trying to send?
I have also been able to send photos. Have you got bluetooth turned on before trying to send the photo? I've found that if bluetooth is off, then it's not an option to share.
The key for me is to make sure that Bluetooth is enabled before trying to share. Once that's on, then tap and hold the photo, tap share... and then select bluetooth (other options being messaging, mail, facebook onenote, twitter)
It then shows me any discoverable devices weather they are paired or not.
Option for share is "touch and send" for picture this is not NFC but BT.
Touch and Share is NFC. It uses NFC to initiate a Bluetooth Transfer and this currently does not work between an Android device and Windows Phone. Activate Bluetooth in Settings and below Touch & Share you will get the option Bluetooth which works fine.

[Q] Connect WP8 to windows 8 for bluetooth streaming

Hello,
I've got a Lumia 1020 and I'm trying to connect via Bluetooth to a windows 8.1 device. I'm able to pair the devices, but as soon as that process is complete, the connection drops. On my phone, I can tap on the name of my computer, and it will reconnect, but it lasts for literally 3 seconds, before dropping the connection again. I've tried connecting to both my Surface RT and my windows 8.1 ultrabook with the same result. The phone will connect to my car stereo just fine, and I never have to do anything with it. Is there some sort of protocol that's missing in Windows 8 to allow phones to connect via Bluetooth? My main use for this would be music streaming, and using my tablet as a handsfree device.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dustin
There isn't really any way to do that unless you are using something other than Microsoft's generic Bluetooth driver. I'd recommend checking out Trendnet's Bluetooth dongle or something that has broadcom drivers and they are extremely feature packed. My several year old BT 2.0+EDR from them works great!

Thanks for the reply, I'll give that a shot!
Have you tried opening "View Devices and Printers" from desktop control panel? From there you should be able to right-click on your Lumia and click "Control".
I haven't used any Lumias but I'm able to stream from and to my Ativ Neo with both my Surface Pro and Lenovo Lynx running 8.1
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your question.

BT Pairing to Windows 10.

I'm trying to pair my Nexus to my windows 10 laptop using bluetooth and have it so that I can accept and handle calls from my laptop. I recently purchased an Asus dongle - BT400 - that is compatible with HFP, HSP, and A2DP. However, my problem is that whenever I try to pair my phone to my pc I'm running into issues. What happens is that the phone will pair, however it will not connect afterwards. Typically I should be able to select the device in my BT devices menu on my phone to connect, however nothing occurs when I do that. Also when hitting the cog it does not list any services available, nor is Windows able to connect to detect services. I have verified that I am able to stream audio using the same dongle on my Windows 8 desktop. I have updated to the most current driver and still am not having any luck.
I should also mention that I am running cm 12.1.

Beats me but should test these things on stock. 10 out of 10 times it a CM problem. If works on stock then it is CM.

Sadly, I was presented with the same issue on stock. I actually put CM on to see if it made a difference. However, occasionally I can get the phone to try and connect, but I get presented with a BSOD. I've researched and it appears to be an issue w/ win10.

AA with two phones

Hi there!
Does anyone succeed in having two phones working with AA ? One stays connected permanently to AA, the second one is connected to BT for calls and texting.
My experience is that even if both are correctly connected when they are alone, once together all is a mess. As soon as the second phone gets connected to AA, the first one gets deconnected from BT.
I tried to break BT connection within the second phone. It gets connected anyway to AA, but this didn't solve the issue. The first one was ejected from BT,stating that another device was already BT connected (even if BT is broken).
Any help ? BT Mac address modification on the first phone to match second phone ?
Thanks in advance !
i been toying with the idea to do this.
sorry i just need to ask, even you disable auto connect Bluetooth in AA setting?

Haven't tried yet but surely a good idea ... On my way to test !
When you say that you've been toying, do you mean you get it to work or not ?
My purpose is to use a Nexus 7 2013 (not LTE version) as a permanent device connected to AA, and use my phone connected to BT, thus to avoid plugging/unplugging ...
No joy ... Using BT or not has no effect ... Phone is deconnected when tablet is connected to AA...

Deleting pairing has no impact. I even succeeded in breaking BT to avoid AA to wake it up but no joy either.
Whenever AA gets connected to the phone (via USB), any other BT connection is rejected stating that another device is already connected ...
Spoofing BT Mac address of soon to be BT-connected phone with the one of AA-connected phone might be a solution ? But not enough geek to try this one...
Seems strange nobody came across this idea ... please help if you did !
I worked it out, permanently disabling the Bluetooth using root. I described it in this thread.

Tried that already... Disabling BT doesn't prevent HU from detecting and kind-of BT pairing the device, ejecting in the same time the phone ... At least in my situation...
I reply to myself.
I found out a solution.
Strangely, disabling BT did not solve my problem. It seems that the headunit was retrieving information gathered at the first connection...
I then decided to hard reset the headunit. When asked to connect phone to BT, I complied.
In the meantime, I spoofed the BT MAC Address, copying phone's one to tablet. Now they both have the same BT MAC Address.
When tablet was plugged into usb for AA connection, the phone stayed BT connected. It worked and works since then.
Application to spoof BT MAC Address could be easily found on the G market.
i been toying wirh aa2. 9 or aa3. 0 because of non working issues
i accidently noticed my bt does not connect to my car but aa2. 9 still works.
i need to replicate this again.
if this work, 2 phone can still works

Try using "app quarantine". This it the only application that really stoped my BT for good.
So success with 2 phones?
Do you need to be rooted to spoof the BT MAC address?
Thanks

Thanks for this.
I kind of have it working but cannot control the phone connected by BT from the head unit (which still tries to make calls from the phone connected via AA).
Calls made directly from the phone do however go through the head unit.
Is there a way to control the BT phone via the head unit with the other phone connected via AA?
Android Auto on the navigation screen, iPhone connected via bluetooth for phone calls. VW Passat B8 2016
thank you to Pixege !
the method described it realy works (tested on Galaxy S7 and galaxy S5) in function on galaxy S5
it works ok if tha main phone it is conected in HFP mode
but because I have and rSAP mode and I'd like it want to use this type of conection but here are some problems..
the reason it is because I try to build from a galaxy s5 SM-901F (6.0.1, version MMB29M.G901FFXXU1CQE3 rooted with chainfire ) a standalone device im my car for use android auto in the car independent of my normal phone (galaxy S8)
so I want to use in the same time 2 android phones but both want to conect by bluetooth to the car (VW Discovery Pro)
to do that I disable via Esentiale root bluetooth proceses I found and works fine if the main S8 it is conect by HFP protocol
but if s8 is conected by rSAP (and I want to be conected by rSAP) when the second phone is conected by usb(with blutooth off) somehow disconect the sim from main S8 phone (but on the phone show like the rsim it is still working) but not conect to the second phone
if I first conect the android auto (S5) and after connect the phone (S8) rhe rSAP conection works fine
if I first conect the phone (S8) and after connect the android auto (S5) the rSAP conection not work on S8
anyway I want to disable the rsap on the galaxy s5 , how can I do this?
i solved in this way
