Downgrade 4.0.4 to 2.3.6 (no backup whatsoever) - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have update my phone (galaxy s plus) from 2.3.6 to 4.0.4 by puting the CM9 to sdcard and enter recovery mode, and select update from sdcard.
I have no backups, because i couldn't install TWRP.
I want to downgrade because is more laggy now.
Can you hellp me finding a tutorial or something so I will not brake my phone?

Why is it laggy? It's not necessary to downgrade your phone. Which CM9 did you installed? Did you flashed with CWM? Have you done a full wipe before flashing new ROM? Did you fix permissions after install? If you did all this is shouldn't be laggy.
Still, if you want to go back to stock use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922505.

I only wipe ( 2 types of wipeing, can;t remember specific name) and than update the rom.
Is laggy, when I swich or close a aplication, and often I get a error like "this app isn't responding, 1.wait, 2.report. 3.close"

Thnx, it worked!!

You could read Dr Ketan's guide in Development a couple of times and then explain properly what you're doing if you're still struggling.

i already try Easy rooting toolkit and after my note reboted i see that nathing happand
from what i undestand i need to use "Get root access on Newer GB ROM (non rootable directly)" ?
if yes so
"fter updating to newer ROM, you can flash CF root kernel from here
according to newer ROM kernel. And Flash it using Mobile Odin OR CWM."
my kernal is not listed there ,can i use LB1 ?
anyone. ..?
anyone pls
Could you post the details of your device? Go to Settings and About phone.
Your ROM is non rootable
You have following option
-Flash Pre rooted ROM, and update to existing ROM with Mobile Odin / CWM
-If you want to switch to ICS, flash it after wiping device and Root it.
Guide you can find on same link sahil have suggets you.

He wrote earlier LB2 kernel thats enough to decide.
about my option
about my option
1)after i flash pre rooted rom how can i update to my rom ?
2)what is the option to wipe ? it delete the all device ? becouse if yes how can i put custom ics,if there is nothing on the device ?
1. After flashing Pre rooted ROM you will have CWN
How to use is depend on which custom ROM you want to flash
For stock ROM this is the way
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20963730&postcount=3
2.Don't understand what you want to ask
about option number 2
the second opion seem to bee more easy than the first one
my Q is : the option wipe is like format in computer ? and using after that with odin is like to boot with bootable cd with os in computer ?
No, Format in computer requires to Install OS.
Here wipes means your device will reboot to factory set. Means everything will be there except stuff you have installed manually.

IMHO=In My Humble Opinion (just in case you were wondering what it meant)
Follow dr.Ketan's advice,a1shay1.
First root successfully, play around with simple things(stock, safe stuff) then think of modding.
Its very very easy,(believe me) to turn your Note a simple, humble paperweight.
suggest
A friend just suggest to root with
I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK.tar
And then to put the stunner from sd card
stil not good

For future reference, don't perform any wipes under re packed kernel, they have the bug. There shouldn't be a need for these re packed packages anymore steer clear of them. Don't do wipes or nandroid restores under ics kernels AT ANY TIME or you risk bricking.

You sure you have enough battery on your phone? Go to download mode again and flash gingerbread, root the phone. Then copy the slim bean into your internal SD card. Now go into CWM and do three wipes (Cache, Dalvik and Data). And flash the ROM....It should be up and running after that...

If it doesn't boot flashing GB again sorts the problem out, thats GB again! It means your IMEI has lost. You need to go back to stock rom to retrieve your IMEI. Download any gingerbread stock rom from net.

Sorry if I interrupt, but i have a quite similar problem. My SGS DOES boot though, and works okay... BUT it isn´t recognized proberly by my pc(although having all drivers installed) tried reinstalling both drivers and whole OS. Also tried other computers and cables. Phone boot fine in download and recovery mode but isn´t recognized by Odin, heimdall, oneclick etc.? My question is as following: Is it in anyway possible to grab a OTA/STOCK .zip to flash in Recovery 3e??
Thanks

When you flash from GB to ICS or jb and even fro. Ics to jb it will reboot on install then you need to go back into recovery and run the install a second time this is due to a partition change and the kernel needing to be rebooted into one compatible with those partitions so basicly flash cm9 or 10 twice for it to boot correctly

That root method with Odin is for Android 2.3. You tried it on 4.1.2? If yes, then download your JB firmware again and install it with Odin (like you did with that root). And use this for root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087424

Guys, I've encountered another problem and I thought it wasn't necessary to open another thread. So..I managed to root my phone and I would like to install a custom ROM but I have problems with Clockwork mode. I found a thread about temporary CMW for JB and I tried it but it doesn't seem to work. I installed it but when I want to navigate through it's menus (for example going to the "install zip from sd card" menu) it restarts. Even when I try to reboot my phone ("reboot system now") it doesn't work. CWM just restarts. Any thoughts ?

Install CoCore with Universal kernel flash, and use permanent cwm. You need to unzip it, and use kernel.bin.md5 and you must have some root explorer installed.

1. Reboot into <Stock recovery 3e>
2. Root your device

Always after flashing a STOCK rom via Odin boot into recovery and do wipw data factory reset and wipe cache partition too in order to avoid the bootloop
Don't remove the launcher you need at least one to use your phone
Your data mount problem could be solved if you flash an Android 2.3.6 Firmware
(Try with ddq8 or ktm)

Flashing stock firmware with Odin will not delete your data from SD card. You will probably need to do factory reset, it will delete your contacts, sms, apps... But stuff from internal and external sd will remain there.
You bricked it because 4.4.2 uses preload partition for a swap, and it is partitioned in different way. And on PA 3.69 is probably different.
Or ROM zip of PA was corrupted.
thankyou and one more question

You can't brick phone with clearing cache. Did you wipe system partition? Try to install same ROM that you had (if you had).
Give us a screenshot of Odin fail. What exactly happen. And what is the full name of md5 that you put in pda of Odin. Try different version of Odin too.

Go back to recovery, and if you have ROMs zip install it again.
Ofcourse you shouldn't wipe system partition, system files are there...
And if you can't install ROM again, what error do you get in Odin?

I didn't think twice before wiping it. My bad.
Anyways, That's the issue. I can't go to recovery. Phone only shows the odin mode (if i press VOL. DOWN+HOME+POWER).
Odin simply says FAILS.

Well then you did not just wipe system, you installed some GB based ROM over?
You have log window in Odin, where it fails? Try to redownlaod firmware again, and then install again.
What version of Odin do you use? Try 3.x.

ROM is fine. And you was on GB or JB before? If you was on GB then this problem you got is normal. You must be on JB (flash JB firmware) if you install JB ROM.
And again, if you get FAIL on Odin DO A SCREENSHOT AND POST IT HERE. To see what cause that fail. Left part of this screenshot is a log http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gkWcapOu2...gingerbread+s5570jpq8+samsung+galaxy+Mini.jpg
Blue, where it says Message.
This is for other phone, do not pay attention on that, I just told you what I need to see.

And no, you must install Firmware not, not ROM. Because you probably installed JB ROM over GB. That is why you do not have working recovery.
Finally unbricked !!!
