Hi everyone,
I have fiddled around with my Motorola XT860 (please correct me if this is not Droid 2) and I see that Motorola services has an e-mail and a jabber id assigned to my phone. I would like to use those services. Has anyone come across those?
You can check it by entering: *#*#4636#*#*
My ID looks like this:
[email protected]
How can I push a message to this address?
Thanks
The XT860 is the GSM version of the Droid 3.
Moved to Droid 3 General (lack of Q&A)
Cheers

I've seen plenty of information about the new google navigation in maps feature. It sounds awesome.
But I think I'm more interested in the voice search across contacts that I thought I heard was also part of the new "Car Home Suite". Does it finally deliver this ability? -->
Android phone connects to bluetooth set (in car, on ear whatever).
User presses 'call' or 'off hook' or 'action' button on the BT.
Android phone prompts user for name.
User speaks name.
Android phone confirms spoken name (sorta like Goog-411 but searches google contacts first)
User says "Yes", "Oui", "Si" or something similar.
Android phone dials contact number.
Has anybody acquired a Moto Milestone and tried it on the Tmo network?
I guess it pays to hang out at Droidforums:
Very Informative Link!
I live overseas but call back to the us quite often for friends, family, or work. My mobile provider provides an economical way of calling back to the us and to many other countries by replacing +1 (or whatever the country code) with an access code (ie 13200 and country code). However I still need to store all my numbers regularly with + and country code for text messaging and syncing to other devices.
Am I missing something or is there no way to easily edit a number from contacts before dialing? I can edit numbers from the call log with a long press. But this doesn't seem possible from contacts. The only way I can seem to do it is dial with the original number, immediately hang up, then edit the number. My old Nokia did the number edits easily through contacts. Any suggestions? Am I just missing something? Any assistance would be appreciated. Using froyo. Thanks.

Didn't get any responses, so bumping back up. Anyone else have some suggested approaches that I might be missing? Thanks.
Guys, is there an app which I can use to send txt's from the Xoom in the UK?
I'll be honest, I'm stunned that there is no txt / voice call ability on this tab, I have the 3G/WIFI version so was just expecting this functionality.
Can anyone help?
I was wondering the same thing. I didn't intend to use any sort of calling or texting functionality, but soon after putting a Three network 3G data sim in, a popup appeared with the title SMS Message (IIRC) and the text along the lines of Welcome or thank you for purchasing a Three Mobile SIM, you can topup by going to three.co.uk/topup etc.."
I tapped the back button rather than hitting OK and the notification for this message was sitting in the tray, but I had no other way of finding where this notification was to reopen it after clicking OK.
Handcent and other apps are set to not apear for our devices in the Market so that's a no go.
I just cant believe google and motorola haven't built this funtion into the tab, its just stupid.
By the way, does anyone know if or think that, the fuctionality will be added in a future update?
I've actually got Handcent to install but it wont send messages, just posted on their forum asking if they can add support for the Xoom.

you need a framework-res.apk modified to enable SMS/phone function, go find and request it at Dec section in 3G euro uastring thread..
Thanks, I will do that.

Yay, thank you!
I recently canceled my old number with sprint and then added a new line with the nexus s 4g on a new number. I am unable to verify my new number with google voice however I have tried and I'm getting voicemails to my new number on google voice but I can't check them until I log onto the computer.
any Help?
have you checked your forwarding and other options on the google voice page?
Some of them are kind of hidden-- anytime it says 'advanced' settings, check in there as well.
(This should probably go in the Q&A forum section).

Ya I try to check my new number to have it forwarded but it won't let me until I verify it. I put it in this forum because it is an app but you are right it could be moved to Q&A.
It sounds like it might not be specific to you or your device - have u checked out the google voice forums at google groups? You might have some luck there. I'll post if i find anything.
. . NS4G . . CM7 . .
YA I posted over there too. No luck yet.
Thanks
I've had issues with this on and off since I got my N4, never had problems with my Galaxy Nexus, but I finally stumbled upon this solution in a SGS II thread and it worked like a charm:

Ive seen a few threads about this, as well as several on the TMo boards and other boards about people not being able to send or receive MMS over wifi after the ICS update. I also had this issue and called TMo. I spoke to their 2nd level support, and the solution per Samsung is first send a picture to yourself via gmail (the gmail acct associated with your phone) while on wifi. After you receive it, you should be able to send and recieve MMS over wifi from there on out.
...
edit: the symptoms I was having was I would send an MMS, and it would sit at sending. If I received an MMS, I got the notification of a new text with a download button. Hit that, and it sits at download...

Note: I am on AT&T, the email address to send an image to yourself for AT&T is <your phone number>@MMS.att.net

That's been around for years. You used to be able to name that email address instead of the phone#, i.e., [email protected]. The place to get the name was somewhere in the maze of account info.
Not understanding this solution

Hi, I am not understanding how to use this solution. When you state that I should send a MMS to my gmail account, should I open a photo and send it in an email or do I open my texting app and send it to my phone number with the MMS.att.net at the end?
Do I use a gmail specific app like Gmail itself or can I use a mail app like Mailbox.
Sorry I am not more up on this. I did not even know that I had a MMS.att.net account to begin with so I need this broken down in baby steps if possible.
Thanks in advance.
