Since we are stuck on GB until Hash can get a stable ICS/JB, I figure it might not hurt to make it as smooth. I noticed that scrolling was smooth but on GB it was crap. Overclocking the GPU to 384 MHz helped, but wasn't fullproof. I googled tonight and found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411317
I did it and it seems a lot smoother. Just a tip. Also the Smali link is broken, so try this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/alexvhtcroms/files/baksmalimanager.zip/download

Hi everyone,
I have question. My result in Quadrant Standard is something about 800. A lot of people have higher result that's mine. There is any method to do SGS faster and get better results or where is problem in my phone ??
if you want higher quadrant scores you need to do a lagfix. the market has one called one click lag fix but it roots your phone. imo quadrant scores arent indicative of real world phone speed. if it feels fast, it is fast. go to the development section and read up on why this pone lags and all the different lag fixes available. but basically samsung uses a slow file system which causes 'lag' but i guess its all relative to what you are used to.
Everything is ok now. Thanks for your help
I have read many threads and there someone says something about they have got easy 2000-3000 score in quadrant.I have tested everything and i have get max 2300 scores with super optimized kernel and 1400mhz oc with xjpu. Now i tried with darky 9.3 final and newest super optimized kernel and oc i get only 2200 score.
What i have done wrong? Can someone tell all tweaks and lagfixes what do you use for high scores and smooth galaxy =)

I got 69000!!! But but but with my laptop (keep in mind' it's a phone, not a bench toy)
What's the point of getting super duper high quadrant scores if your battery will last but 2 hrs, and you not being able to use your phone as a, well, phone

Open the App 'SpareParts'
> Window Animations >> Very Slow
> Transition Animations >> Very Slow
This looks like butter! So smooth
and if you want fast repond then you do fast or something like this you download and try,may be it will solve your problem

Are you interested in running ACTUAL applications, or are you interested in testing quadrant. Because Quadrant is a testing tool, not an indication of real world performance for the apps you run.
No,i want it is fast ,because now some applications can open more than 10sec.And my galaxy s freeze sometimes. And if i install aplications it will lag for 10-20sec.

Ignore Quadrant score it cannot measure the SGS . 1500 is the score on my super smooth non laggy phone .
Wipe phone i would even suggest you go back to stock to clear all the bits left over .
Build your own rom from the rom kitchin and ignore Quadrant and any other benchmarks use the phone .

hello, xda people,
i am new in XDA and this is my first post. And it is a query about some Antutu scores where i saw galaxy notes clocked to 1780 mhz, 1768 mhz, etc; greater than the 1704 mhz i see on roms like rocket rom and romow rom. I am really new owner of galaxy note. I would appreciate some explanations. Thanks in advance.
Does it make a difference? The 1.2GHZ kernels for the ICS leaks are plenty fast enough, and honestly if you try underclocking your max speed to say 500-800mhz...you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. Half the reason stock Galaxy Note feels so laggy is the painfully slow animations...but maybe that's just me.

I don't know...just don't understand what difference some 60hz would make?

Top benchmark scores?
thanks for the response, people.
i am just wondering if there are other roms or kernels that have higher clock speeds, or may be it's an ICS thing. lags will always be there even with high clocks. but i am wondering ( just saying) gadgets like PSP, which i had many years ago never had lags even if it was on CF or custom kernels or whatever those stuff were. I hope the laggy experience we get in the note will really be fixed to appreciate some sick animations or what not. well anyway, thanks a lot.
I cant even get over 1600 with AbyssNote
Whenever I get it more than that with SetCpu the phone works perfectly but as soon as I try a benchmark (Quadrant or Atuntu) my phone freezes on the cpu 1/8 part and I have to restart it... so how come you guys can go all the way to 1.78 ?
I am using rr22 and abyss note 4.2. My note can be set at 1704 MHZ. apps like games play very smoothly but of course battery saps fast. RR22 is a great rom. The highest point i got from antutu is about 7900, with abyssnote 3.9. I think abyssnote 3.9 is good, but i wanna try BLN that's why i installed 4.2... quadrant always crashes on my note. mate, it's just uberclock. overall performance on decent battery life is still the beast.
Hey guys,
Posted under general questions and to my surprise not one reply in a week. So, I'm curious to know somethings about overclocking these tablets. What settings are you using? Have you had any issues with overheating and shutting down? What settings are recommended for web browsing, gaming etc? Let's talk linpack and benchmark testing. Where do you rank and how did you get there? Let's talk SetCPU benchmark scores, what kind of results can you squeeze out out of your device? How does someone pull off 41916.7 MFLOPS?! (Nexus) I'll start......
GT-7310 Running 3.2 / Motley Kernal / SetCPU
SetCPU Scores
Long Bench @ 178ms / Native @ 621.5ms
Linpack Scores
Single thread @ 42.4 MFLOPS / Multi thread @ 83.2 MFLOPS
Obtained running 1504MHz max / 216MHz min
Note: I have overheated and shutdown at 1504 web browsing. At 1400MHz I have had no issues. I see some scores are through the roof. I'm not to familiar with Overclocking and just would like to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks in advance. I may of posted this in the wrong area and I apologize. I would like this to be a thread on the topic rather than a Q & A.
Well I personally run my tab @1200Mhz with -25mV on the 1000&1200 steps, but anyhow, due to the interactive governor the most used setps are 216, 456 and 1200. I don't undervolt the lower test for stability reasons as I mostly work on the tablet so I don't want to test yet how low uV can go, don't have the time to test it right now. (Even though I'm pretty sure -25mV even on lower steps is still largely stable)
As for the set CPU test I tried them out on 1504Mhz: 150 and 595ms. I once pushed the tab to 1600Mhz but it ended up in an immediate freeze so I will skip on trying that again.
I don't have linpack but tried running GLBench 2.1 Egypt and the score was pretty embarrasing
Thanks for sharing. Since my post I have flashed aokp-34 galaxiansoup with v-3 of the Motley Kernal. Running 1400 on 216 no undervolting and am seeing a tiny increase in numbers. I'm still stumped on these linpack scores. This thing runs great. No complaints whatsoever. Anyone want to chime in on the best bench testing app or what the stock numbers on these 7310's are?
everyone will tell you that benchmark scores aren't very representative!
run the test 5 times and each time you will get a slightly different score.
i don't really care about benchmarking, as long as i feel that my tab runs smooth (which i think it does) im pretty happy. im normally at 1,4ghz and everything is smooth and stable!
Thanks for sharing. I couldn't agree more. My tab runs great at the same speed settings as yours. I just don't understand the numbers and how certain device's have like 100 times my mflops......I'm a numbers guy by nature, I like to see it on paper....but I am content with my device. Just always looking to make it cleaner and faster.....you know the addiction I'm sure.
Are you happy with this kernel? I found it stuttering and laggy...

Yes, I've not ran into any issues. Totally impressed and content with v3 motley. If there is a better kernel out there I'd love to hear about. I have yet to look, no need.
Been running a few custom profiles via Setcpu peaking @1.5GHz on B37 for a few weeks now. Other than a force close or two and an occasional browser freeze, which is normal with these roms, this thing is running pretty snappy. Gotta watch the temp though.

I sure hope that you've set up your profiles so that your tab overclocks to 1.5Ghz only occasionally, it's a thing that you HW can handle it, but will it on the long term?
Also, I regret that you can't overclock the bus frequency to get an overall performance boost (the GPU could really use it..) as on the Galaxy S
Yeah, I'm only pushing 1.5 on occasion, per profile. I normally run 1.4 all day everyday for the last 3 months with heavy use and no issues. Just gotta watch the temp. I've had mine to 113 degrees which kinda scared me.

Anyone used this app? Some users reported to have significant lag reduction when starting apps but in my case my O2X was already snappy so the difference is not night and day with this app running but it might have improved a little. I am still on stock GB (Spica's V20q rebuild) + Gueste Kernel 2.2.1 HOC SC

Please share your results here! (mention your ROM / Kernel)...
I tried it and it should be working, but I don't seem to see any dramatic improvement.
Sure, there is a bit of improvement but it might be subtle or just placebo.
I'm running the CM10 on new bootloader btw.

Well, that explains why I still lag out in Beach Buggy Blitz, and why that's no noticeable difference on my phone.
Ricardo Cerqueira said that it doesn't work, look at his post in G+: https://plus.google.com/115049428938715274412/posts/GWr72W9zmY2
Saw RC's comment about it before even knowing it existed, still tried it and might have experienced a very small difference which I still don't kown if it's just placebo or some part of the script which somehow speed things up a little.
This following discussion is pretty interesting though:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=42265#c114
I tried and I can see some difference, opening times are different, not instant opening, but better. Placebo? Placebo effect is documented to function... Anyway, still discussion goes ahead, and something new still comes out.

arcee said it has something to do with maintaining higher cpu frequencies, thus making apps launch quicker
It works great on my one. One word that is satisfied.

i was thinking about it, so i changed minimum frequency to 1000mhz instead of 216 or 312 mhz. It's definitely snappier when i unlock the phone and start using it. but switching between apps, is still faster w/ seeder on.
