Maybe you can calibrate sensors from in- game settings (some games have option to recalibrate sensors). Works only for that game, I know, but it can help for easier gaming.

Is there a way to adjust the accelerometer sensitivity in CM 6.1? It seems like the slightest movement of my hero turns my screen 90°......

I want to know that to it seams like a lot of roms have it turned up to a extreme lvl, hope someone knows a fix for that tnx.

Bump. I would love to know this too.
Someone suggested going into GPS Status and calibrating pitch & roll as a way to do this. Tried it , doesn't seem to completely do the trick, but helps a little....

Hello so i was playing temple run today and i realised that my tilt was going off. So i opened doodle jump put my phone flat on the table and it was going to the right by heaps. Do is there any way i can calibraye so it is accurate?
Thanks.

Settings, screen. On cm9 accelerometer is not smooth. On cm7 with any custom kernel too.

Oh. I dont have a custom rom. Im on stock. Is there an app that can do this?
All i know is how to recalibrate "with" root. So if you ever root your phone... let me know
Can you write it here?

In 2.3.6 official europe rom go to settings, dispaly, horizontal calibration, then put it on a table press calibrate and you are good to go.
Really. Im on the austrialian one 2.3.3 and there is no calibrating thing
Google's project butter is the best thing to ever happen to android in terms of visual polish but I was curious as to why it still was jittery despite all its freaking gpu/cpu cores.
Turns out full gpu acceleration is not on by default so I went into development in the settings and forced 2d gpu acceleration. Disabling the overlays does more harm than good it seems.
This thing is BUTTER. Try this in rom toolbox, before scrolling was jittery and after it was perfect. Same with tapatalk.
What it breaks:
Google movies
Moon reader+ fonts

Should work out for the most part, but some apps out there may not function properly with HW acceleration.
Ah, that works much much better. Before it seemed only a little faster than my old Kindle Fire ICS Rom, but now it's flying.

Disabling this also fixed my stuttering problems on YouTube app and 720p movies stored internally. Don't really plan on using Google movies that much anyway.

Since it's so easy to change (no reboot even required) it shouldn't be a big problem for most people. Its a very dramatic change in fluidity and silkyness you wont forget to turn it back on.

As a rule anything that improves performance draws more power so I'm betting this is no exception.

Yes, there is no picture in the movie. I don't think overlays need to be turned off for speed, overlays should be supported in HW by the GPU as well. So if you force GPU 2D rendering, that is enough to really speed up the UI.
Or maybe I am wrong?

It seems like disabling he overlays goes more harm than good, forcing 2d acceleration seems to be the best route.
Oh and this will use more ram, but when was the last time you ran out of ram anyways.

Funny seeing this tweak brought up here. We went through 6+ months on prime messing with that tweak. I believe it more so just enables older apps to use hardware acceleration. Most newer apps and jellybean rom in general already uses hardware acceleration in the coding by default. Regardless of what you see in developers settings. This was the case in ICS. Likely the same with jellybean also. Alot of developers chimed in on the subject that we might be seeing more of a placebo effect. It likely does work but for older coded apps n such. Most new apps should already use hardware acceleration by default(regardless of what developer setting is showing). Some apps will have issues with it though. Some apps not made to support hardware acceleration so just keep a tally of what apps act up and add them to the op. The new NVISION app for example. At first it messed up with that setting. Cut it off and the app works fine. They eventually updated the app so the setting wouldn't mess it up anymore.
It'll also raise your 2d scores in quadrant, I believe. This will drain battery faster though. I know on prime, it was hard to tell if this was really working or not. To me, it seemed to be working. But down the road I cut it off and things were just the same. So who knows..lol. I know Y nexus 7 doesn't need it. Give it a shot if you experiencing lag somewhere and see of it helps. There's a good chance though that its just a placebo effect. Thouroughly testing needs to be done with it off n on. Jellybean by default already has hardware acceleration for apps n other things. Regardless of what developers option show.

No placebo effect here, this genuinely works even in new apps especially tapatalk and rom toolbox, you should try those with the setting off and then on. Those two apps were bugging me the most. I'm sure it will drain the battery more but I already get three days of use out of this thing anyways.

Hey everyone,
I have been playing games like Shadowgun (non tegra optimized version), Mass Effect and Dead Trigger, and the games look and run great except for one issue... the frame rate appears very choppy when doing slow/precise movements with the right thumb. For example, when I load up Shadowgun or Mass Effect and just slowly move my right thumb to move the camera, the movement is not smooth at all. The camera moves in a large choppy imprecise way. Is this normal? Am I just expecting too much out of this device? If its not normal how do I fix it?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I posted about this in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29095910&postcount=44
I fixed most of the issues when I installed a CM10 kang.
The only issue I have noticed since is what you're describing. The screen chops a bit with very slow precise movements. I wonder if that's just how it is on this LCD panel.
Interesting... I don't think my issue is dead spots necessarily. I looked at your video in the other thread and I don't have that problem. Mine is more just related to choppy camera movement in games. I'll try to take a video eventually. I found that turning down look/aim sensitivity in the game options usually helps make it smoother as the cost of slower controls, bit at least I can tweak it a bit that way.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
In Dead Trigger the aiming isn't very smooth, but it is in MC3. Seems like a game problem too me.

The choppy aiming in dead trigger with small movements seems like a new problem in the 1.10 version. Hopefully they fix it.

If it's just Minecraft, I have the issue as well.
The kernels are fine. They have multi-touch fixed.

I have not found any solutions as yet, I think it is related to some service getting killed or something related to memory or IncS hardware limitation. It is quite possible that it is issue with games (due to above) because I remember testing touches with YAMTT app and touches worked fine, probably you can check it for your phone.
As a workaround, I lock-unlock again and see if it works. If it is still not working, long press home key to get app running history, remove that game and open it again (restarting game ). I remember on rare occasions I have to restart my phone.
P.S.
I am not expert, we have many experts here in this forums, so few of above may be incorrect

Thx for your reply I already used this solution (sorry if I forgot to type) for a loong time and I actually hate it... Sometimes I wanna play multiplayer games with friends and when the game is loading I look so something else, my phone locks its screen and then,... My screen is TOTALLY MESSED UP and I gotta do the whoooole process again kill task, go to home, lock screen unlock start app and if it still doesn't work, redo the cycle and I'm tired of doing that thx anyways

Yes, same here, its irritating. Have you tried SVHD 2.1 ROM with kangaroo v19 kernel, I am getting the best performance from my phone amongst the ROMs that I have personally tried. At this moment I am not playing games heavily, but have not faced this issue in svhd ROM. I would suggest that you keep ROM for 2-3 days to conclude if that ROM works for you (like performance, battery etc)
Meanwhile let's wait for solutions from experienced user or expert.
