Try to get your hands on a factory cable and boot into bootloader mode. Then go on over to Hashcode's 2nd-Boootloader thread in the 7" Android Dev forum. Go to the last page, and move a few pages back. Somewhere within those last few pages near the end, you'll see one of his posts with an Amazon OS 7.2.3 u-boot (bootloader) file, ending with .bin. Flash that and see if it works.

A factory cable will not work because the bootloader hasn't even been loaded. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about it.

No ROM, can't flash, brick??? Please help!!

Hello everyone,
First I want to say thank you all for the work you have done. Recently I started messing around with my HTC ONE from Sprint.
Well I think I screwed everything up. First, I want you all to know I spent the last 8 hours searching the internet and trying different things and well, I am about to throw in the towel. I am hoping someone may be able to help.
I somehow deleted everything on my device, including the rom. I cannot get past the HTC screen now nor can I get any roms back on. I have tried twrp but it will not let me mount the /data nor will sideload work, it just fails. Adb doesn't seem to work at all, never sees my device yet fastboot sees it every time. I have tried using fastboot to upload a rom yet I get strange errors like some sort of android text not being in the rom. I tried the stock RUU but it doesn't seem to want to take.
So with all that said, can someone please help me. I have the HTC drivers installed and it shows "MyHTC" under my devices in the control panel. I also have the SDK tools installed. When in twrp and under the "mount" option, it says storage has 0mb. I can't think of anything else to do but rip my hair out. I have honestly been working on this for hours straight.
EDIT: I also have my phone unlocked and it was rooted before all this mess. I still have s-on and havent figured out to turn it off now that it is all messed up.
Please help!
Thank you!
I would highly suggest pm-ing big daddy619. If he is willing, he can get you up and running. Also to start make sure your sdk tools are updated to work with 4.3 it's rev 18 or 19. Plus big daddy has a very intuitive guide at top of q&a section. Good luck!!
Did you re-lock your bootloader when you ran the RUU?

When I run the RUU is says my current image version is 3.04.651.2. It doesn't get past the sending portion. Then I get an error 155 and it tells me to get the correct rom update utility.

Once you get the ruu done do this to install the drivers properly(they may install in OS,bootloader, recovery)
ADB = OS & recovery
Fastboot = bootloader
Unplug your phone
Uninstall everything HTC
Reboot your PC
Use these drivers http://d-h.st/FXC
Install above drivers
Plug phone in and let the drivers install (in OS,Recovery,Bootloader) if your PC and phone still don't talk to each other in all 3 modes do this
On your PC go to device manager and find your phone(usually M7WLS), right click and select properties
Select the driver tab
Select update driver
Select browse my comp
Let me pick
Look for ADB USB device or similar should be one of the first couple choices
Select MyHTC install and you should be good

Is there ever going to be an easier stock rom dump for VZW?

So since I apparently am the only human in existence that doesn't own a computer (because I don't need one) so far the only option I have for running the stock ROM is by this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/rom-stock-rooted-vzw-212-55-26-t2829123 unfortunately this requires the use of a computer. Are there not other options to flash the stock system rom without the use of a computer? I have tried to flash this rom that I have linked but it doesn't do anything other then sit there and bug out.

Um...that ROM is only for those with unlocked bootloaders or safestrap.
If you ARE unlocked, you CAN flash that with no computer.
If you aren't unlocked, no such luck.
Why don't you clarify a bit.....are you unlocked or not? How are you trying to "flash it"?
Not having access to a computer really limits what you can do with these devices. Especially if you run into issues, then a computer is a must. If you have no way to use a computer, it's seriously best not to mess with the phone. Or you may be buying a computer just to do a simple fix.
Just my 2 cents.

And as said above, without an unlocked bootloader.... You can't "flash" anything. You can RSDLite the stock image, with a computer. That's about it.

I am indeed unlocked.
However when I try to flash it (like a normal rom) it fails during each time. I cannot take a screen shot because I am in bootloader.

OK, then you are doing it *completely* wrong!
You don't flash these types of ROMs from the bootloader -- you flash them from Custom Recovery (TWRP). Have you flashed TWRP? Are you rooted?
Normal ROMs (SBF / FXZs) are flashed from the bootloader. Recovery roms (like the one you liked above) are NOT.

Two posts ago you said you were in the bootloader. No reason to yell - the bootloader is not TWRP.
OK, I see the problem now. THAT flashable zip does not include the Kernel (boot.img) or the radio. A computer IS required for that to work. All I can suggest is borrow someone's PC to finish it.
Some ROMs include boot.img, and some do not. This one doesn't. You will need to use fastboot to flash the kernel and baseband.

Here is a suggestion:
If you can find someone who has --already-- flashed this particular ROM, you can ask them to take a TWRP backup of JUST boot (it won't take long, and it won't be that big). You can flash the backup from within TWRP.
It shouldn't hurt to be on an older baseband (modem), so that could get you going until you can access a PC.
If you intend to use a flashable zip in the future, make sure it includes BOTH /system AND /boot.
Sorry I didn't check on that earlier....it sounds like you had already tried to flash it though. Hope you aren't stranded in a non-working state right now though. If you can get your hands on a friend's PC for 15 minutes or so, that would be best.

[Q] phone freezes entering the recovery

I unlooked the phon on the HTC website and tried to root it. I used DooMLoRD_v2_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su, DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su and a few other images, all with the same result. After flashing the image successfully and entering the recovery the phone shows the white HTC splash screen and freez.
Thanks to DooMLoRD for this easy tool. What do I wrong?

Thanks for your support.
First I found "RUU_RUNNYMEDE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.2_Radio_20.70.30.0832U_3831.16.00.16_M_release_258303_signed" and tried it. But the image is to old, Ver. 2.31.401.2, I have Ver. 3.33.401.153, and downgrade did not run. Then I noticed your second link and tried out. Flash of the custom recovery was successful, but booting in recovery still freezes my phone with the white HTC splash screen.
Any further idea?
I don't think that the problem is the recovery image or how to bring it to the phone, I think the problem is something else.
Use windycityrocker's universal tool to reinstall a recovery.
That is to say your phone is not completely rooted.Rom with OTA cannot be completely rooted, use cityrocker's tool.

[Q] Stuck in boot screen, even after wiping data and cache

hi, im using 4.4.4, my device is unlocked and rooted.
i was trying to enable the advanced options in Camera+ as mentioned here in the forum, changed the line on build.prop, rebooted the device, and it got stuck at the "bootloader unlocked" screen, not passing that anymore.
so, i got in to recovery > and wiped data and cache. the device rebooted itself and now is stuck again in "bootloader unlocked" screen.
now if i press power button to turn off it gives "2 vibrations", like its doing something (but is in this screen for past 5 minutes)
any help apreciated.

You could always mount the system partition with twrp and edit the build.prop to put it back to its original state. It is also possible you need to fix the permissions on the build.prop file.

i will look into twrp as i'm not familiar with it. i also thought about the file permissions may be the problem cause i did not edit the file, i modified on the PC and replaced the file on phone. maybe this was the cause? cause i installed a lot of apps and Xposed stuff before that reset, so im not sure if exactly that was the problem. but as i didn't know how to edit the permissions on the file with the phone in that situation, i didn't even consider possible to fix it.
but i flashed with the same ROM and the phone is now fully working (at least this i could do miself )
thanks dobbs3x and Steve-x for the help! :good::good:

Unrooting Verizion nexus 6 on 5.1.0 build number LMY47E

I have been rooted for a few months now and need to get a replacement phone from vzw. I have been searching for the better part of 2 days on how to completly unroot my nexus 6. i used the method used in "[HOW-TO] The Nexus 6 All-In-One Beginner's Guide By xBeerdroiDx" to root it. Which installed TWRP, with any other phone ive rooted i could just go to SuperSU and click full unroot and it would do it. That is not the case now. Can i get a step by step directions from someone on how to unroot my phone please.

sure.. get the factory image from the google site, download it to your computer, unzip it, then flash each part of it individually via fastboot while youre in your bootloader. thats the only real way to "unroot" a device.every othet way removes root but keeps the changed files. so they think that youre still rooted.

i havent dissected the files for this phone, but all past device img's i have, has a wiping command of some sort in there somewhere.
its usually something like "erase userdata" or similar.

you need fastboot(and adb for other things). you can get that from google or you can search google for a smaller download. its in the sdk( i believe), but that download is huge. i installed a fastboot for dummies version a few years back, with adb as well, and ot turned out to be only 35mb.
