I read somewhere that galaxy tab2's cases work with the nex 10 so I bought this http:// http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-920-003594-Samsung-Galaxy-Case/dp/B005KSATVC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1353963568&sr=8-5&keywords=samsung+galaxy+case it works well as a keyboard and the 10 fits inside in lanscape mode just fine but it doesn't stay in place in portrait or if you want to use it as a protective case it doesn't fit either. however, if you are looking for something to have a physical keyboard and and can wait on an actual case this isn't bad.
has anybody found any good keyboard cases?
P.S. i'm using this keyboard to type this post
I pre-ordered this one. Hope it turns out OK

galaxy note 10.1 keyboard case
I was searching Amazon for his last night looking for a Bluetooth keyboard case. After comparing dimensions, I decided to take a chance and see if this keyboard case for the Note 10.1 would work with the Nexus 10. Since I never post, I can't post the link. Just search "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Aluminum Keyboard Case Cover" on Amazon and you should find it.
It should get here Wednesday, so I'll let you all know asap. I'll post pictures too.
It doesn't fit, at least not as a case. My friend has one, I tried and posted on it. I'm still thinking of getting one just for the keyboard though.

Was the case too tall? What exactly didn't fit? Could I get like a silicone case to put over the nexus to make it fit?
The tab was too big in the middle. I didn't force it so I can't tell you if the corners fit. It worked really well as a keyboard stand for the thing.

I think you might be thinking of the keyboard case for the Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1, not the Note 10.1. The Note 10.1 keyboard case doesn't have corners, it just has two clips on the bottom and on in the middle on the top. The tablet is supposed to just rest on the keyboard; it's not really a case.

You're right, as the original question had to do with the Tab, albeit the Tab 2. At any rate, I'm looking for the same type of case that the Tab has, but (obviously) for the nexus.
I like these keyboard cases, they're thin, sturdy, protective, and most of all they hold your tab at a fixed angle so you can type on your lap or very small surfaces without having to worry about the tab flopping backwards. As I said, I was thinking of getting one (used, on Ebay) for the time being just so I have a typing platform for seminars and other work related stuff.

My mom has the logitech aluminum keyboard case and it's awesome. I really like these keyboard cases as well.
I have some great news. The Galaxy Note 10.1 keyboard case is almost perfect. When using it as a stand + keyboard combo, it fits perfectly ctly in the groove since the note and the nexus are very similar in length. This case was made specifically for the device to be used landscape; the keyboard will not support the tablet in portrait. The only problem is the the nexus is just a tiny bit to short for the clips to hold it in when you use it as a case. A bit of padding on the top clip or a very thin silicone or body case for the nexus should make it fit perfectly.
I have "case" in quotes because it doesn't provide protection to the sides of the device (like the Galaxy tab aluminum case or the logitech ipad case) or the back of the device (since it's the device is face down). I wanted to try and connect the device when I first got it, but it doesn't come charged or with a charger. But of course I have a charger with me. I'm charging curing class right now and will give you guys an update on how it works as a keyboard. As of now, this looks like the keyboard case to get if you want more a compact (and might I say attractive) keyboard and not a protective case. This will definitely ease the pain until an official case is released.
update: the keyboard connects and works (I'm using it right now). It has more keys than are one a macbook pro keyboard, which means that the keys are smaller. I wish they would have taken some keys out to make more room/make keys bigger. For example, there are separate + - * / keys, but those symbols also accessible by holding the function key and pressing other keys. Also, a recents and menu key are oddly missing.

i think it looks and seems much better than the Ionic one, this one doesn't cover the camera, 360 degree rotating back, sleep/wake function and detachable keyboard.

I will try it with a very thin tpu case. The only one online to order doesn't ship unit January 7th. For the time being, I put a small piece of folded up napkin between the top clip and the tablet, which seems to do the trick

It's made for the Kindle Fire, but it fits the N7 just fine. It doesn't fully close. What I mean is it doesn't clasp the side since the tablet is skinnier then the Kindle Fire. But it does the job until something better comes out. I got it for $15 at Marshall's

It looks exactly like the yoomee case for the kindle, and they say that it also fits perfectly for the nexus 7. That case though is only 5 dollars with free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime.
That case is branded by several (hundreds?) companies. Good design. I've been using one on a Galaxy tab 10.1 for six months. Good slim protection and holds it well.If anyone is wondering: don't get one of those cases that covers the bezel. You might not like bezel, but you'll hate those cases.

From my experience, cases that cover the bezel can be really tight. So tight that it effects your ability to use the touch screen and can distort colors due to the pressure.
Clips only for me forever.

A few issues:
1 - thicker and heavier than other cases
2 - pain in the ass to put the tablet into and remove
3 - covers the edges of the screen from some viewing angles
4 - different light quality on the edges versus the center
5 - (this is the most important) affects your ability to interact with the touchscreen for things on the edges or for certain swipe gestures. With the nexus this will be particularly important because it has a tiny bezel on the sides.
I just ordered one of these, $5.99 and free 2 day shipping with Prime.
Looks nice. Thanks for sharing.
Picked this up last night. Looks and feels nice. Only down side is that I find it hard(er) to hit the power, and vol buttons. The back also does not have holes for the speaker but I can still hear sounds just fine.

QUOTE=janedoesmith;29056481]Looks like nova launcher.[/QUOTE]
Ah thanks
I am actually picking up this one until more premium cases come out:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008IEGS9W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A29LLD0WGS56WE
I purchased the same case in red (I wanted black with black stitching) since it was 4.00 on Amazon with 2day free prime shipping. Mine isn't branded targus, but it is the same case but less than 1/3 the price, and without the white stitching I find so unappealing. It really is a nice case. I planned on buying this to hold me over till better cases come out, but I'm going to stick with it now.
Since this particular case is made for the fire:
No speaker cut outs, but if you have the case set in portrait stand mode, the speakers are exposed. Perfect for me. The clasp does close, you just have to bend the clasp inward. If you look in picture 5 or 6, you can see how far I bent the clasp in. It fits like a glove now.

Thanks. I see that it's a case for the Kindle Fire, though. I suppose it doesn't have the magnet for the smart wake/sleep function?
I got my i-Blason case in today. It is a little different then the one one the youtube video. This one is also smart case that will put the Nexus to sleep when closed. Case fits great. Every port and sensor is exposed including the mic.

Screen is completely exposed. I'm finding its much easier to type and play games with the added bulk. The speaker is not covered and sounds as loud as it always has. I like the white stitching and plan on getting a friend to cut some white vinyl stickers for it.

It appears to me that the folding piece is actually separate from the actual case that hold the tab?
Slightly confused, but this does look like a winner.

I agree with this. If you look at the second pic, its seems as thick as there nexus tabs stacked on top of each other.
Although this does seem nicer than most.
It is 2 piece which allows for landscape or portrait standing. Its thick but not too thick, it just adds protection and makes it easier to hold.

The only thing it has ever gotten in my way when doing is moving widgets between home screens. Sometimes my finger hits the case before triggering the blue line to jump to the next homescreen. I dont have this issue with drawing apps or games, only when moving icons or widgets. I just have to roll my finger or move my finger up and down the side to get it to work.

No regrets. I noticed a stitch around the screen is a little frayed but that is all. The hinge seems like will last a long time. You do have to train the hinge to set flat when you are in kickstand mode but mine does it naturally now. With nova launcher installed and almost all my apps have a landscape mode, I dont rest it in portrait mode much but at some point I will need to and I will be glad I can.

I got the red case and I like it so much I just bought the black one. I really hate things that bulk up my devices but there has to be a compromise sometimes on protection and bulk. This case has protection with minimal bulk. I can of course put the tab in portrait or landscape. If I really wanted to I could just take it out of the case easy. I have front and back protection on it from Xtreme guard. Loving this case! Oh yea magnet works great too for waking and putting to sleep. PeAcE
I just brought the same case but it doesnt rotate and it comes with a stylus and a stylus holder built into the case. Overall its great build quality and works perfectly. Im not too happy with the stylus but hey it came free lol
Not feeling it myself, but thanks for taking the time to make this post with the photos to help me decide.

is this the same one?
Got mine today....not really liking it that much. The cut of the inner sleeve leaves the tablet crooked unless you REALLY force it in there and stretch the leather, also on mine the holes for the mic and speaker don't line up exactly as they should. They aren't FAR off but they aren't spot on either. I also thought I wouldn't mind that the inner sleeve is only attached to the outer case by velcro...but I do. It just doesn't leave me with a "it's definitely secure and won't fall out" type of feeling. I do like the auto on/off feature though, works exactly as advertised! Fast shipping too!
I am a proud owner of a white galaxy note 2 for a week now, i bought it from expansys.. and alltough i allready has the note 1 i am amazed how good this new version feels and its improvments...
Anyway i found it very stupid that even though such a premium smartphone comes out and the companies dont bother to release accessories with it.. you have to wait so long to get them!
Good news is i ordered a Genuine Samsung Flip Cover (white) from www.mobilefun.co.uk and should have it in a few days time..
Its the first company i found that has availability of this case, which as you might know replaces the battery cover and protects also the front screen.
I am now waiting for a samsung car dock with usb ingector to come out as the note1 which was perfect..
The blue looks cool think it would look good with the white note 2 , 40bucks is kinda steep though, any coupons or rebates

My flip case arrived this morning. I have a white Note 2 but thought the silver contrats with it pretty well after seeing some video of the case fitted.
The back part of the case is actually slightly thicker than the stock backing. This is to accomodate for the hinge where the front cover attaches. You can see that the chrome surround on the lens sits just slightly below the level of the back case in the photo below. It also feels thicker when you unbox it as there isn't the flex in it as per the stock back casing. Fits lovely and looks real nice though. The micro-fibre lining on the inside is also a nice touch as well as a slight recess for the home button to sit in when the cover is closed.
Hope the pics are of help if any.

It's a very nice cover and really thinking about it.
However, this case is going to cause problems with use in a car holder (for GPS)
How practical and durable are they in use? Making calls for example, if you have to fold the flap back will the hinge distort, crease, or break over time?

No issues doing either.
I'm getting the White Galaxy Note 2 & just wondering is the grey flip cover a better suit for it then the white version of it?
I myself would only change the back cover only if I thought it looked good & matched well with the white GN2.
my only concern with the flip cover is it doesnt provide enough protection to the phone. Its not going to cushion any fall like a wrap around case would.

The only thing i don't understand about this case is why they didn't make a hole for the notification led.
I got mine today and that is the first thing i noticed about it.
I will end up making a hole myself in it but i think it is a design fault
Oh i got the grey one and i heard that the notification led with the white one is visible although it is also missing a hole in it.
After $24.50(ebay) and 30M days shipping to the US, it is finally here.
Take a look.

I Think the only option is EBAY, mine came from Hong Kong. I saw that all the Chinese sellers where shipping the case World Wide.
hey robrob777, I noticed that on picture 8 and 11 the front flap doesn't fit properly over the screen after being folded to the back? (there's a small gap between one of the segments and the N7 screen)
Does this cover turn the device off when folded completely behind it like most of the Chinese smart covers?
I have this case as well and I am completely happy with the quality and build. It performs as described. Smart cover feature works as designed.

Yes there is a gap, it doesnt sit flat on the screen, the inside segment of the cover doesnt touch the screen maybe beacuse of the material. Anyway on off works perfect. Magnet is very good.

No , when it is folded behind the device, it doesnt sleep the device. It works as you would spect it to work. I read a lot so i fold the cover behind, never had a problem.
i Am very happy with this cover. I would buy it again
Bought a secondhand nexus 7 yesterday and it came with one of these cases. Very nice quality. Would definitely recommend over the cheaper ebay cases... I have one of those but this is much better
Look what i just stumbled upon:

The gray one is nice... too bad I already have the black one Anyway, I can honestly recommend it - nice design, very good quality.

hey rob thanks for the pics.
off topic question. i noticed your mouse in one of the pics. which one are you using?
i been looking for a good bluetooth mouse but they're quite expensive. then there are the cheap ones from China but i'm not sure about their reliability.
thanks in advance for the info.
I kinda feel like getting this one. Does the cover lock to the case or will it slide off if you say flip the tablet over?

Which keyboard is that with your N7?

thats the HP touchpad keyboard.
can get it around 20 - 25 on ebay.
really good keyboard. the feel of the keys are solid and the keyboard itself is made from some sort of aluminium or metal.
downside is i can't find a file that re-maps the keyboard to utilize some of the buttons to work better with android.
Case looks great.
Flap doesn't stay closed does it?

Unfortunately no, the flap just rests on the screen via pure gravity. Smart wake does work though.
Hey everybody, I've been looking around here and Amazon for a car mount for my nexus 7 that will also shrink down enough to fit my Galaxy S3 if I forget my nexus. Has anyone seen such a mount?
Thanks,
Justin

I use the mini suction mount version for the siii but this will also do http://www.google.co.uk/products/ca...a=X&ei=nSCRUMOkDKmN0AWowoHABQ&ved=0CDMQ8wIwAg
Thanks. Does it hold well in the car?

This is the one I have. It worked great on my most recent trip. I was on vacation for a week and stuck it in the rental. Stayed on so well I almost forgot to take it with me when I returned it after a week. Fits the N7 in landscape and can rotate for it to be in portrait in case you want to use your polarized sunglasses. It held my galaxy nexus with androidtified case just fine as well from the top and bottom of the phone. It's cheap enough to test it out for yourself.

I have the same mount. GREAT for the Nexus 7, not so much for my HTC Sensation with a tpu case on. .
I backed a kickstarter project the millimount to see if it would fit both. I guess if its for a phone only, it wouldn't be a total loss. The kickstarter project, if funded successfully, will ship out by Jan 2013 though, but I think they have all the supplies needed when funding comes through.

Hey guys, I'd like to mount my Nexus 7 in my 2012 Honda Civic, but I find the dash to be kind of awkward to do this. Any ideas? Here's what it looks like below

It does yes, it works better in portrait mode though. Ive had it a couple of years and its been fine for all my phones, saves having to buy new mounts.

I see no guarantee that it will fit the nexus 7 in landscape. Also the nexus 7 weighs about 4 times heavier than any phone on the market so I'm a little concerned about the weight pressing in he CD player. If you can vouch that it does indeed fit in landscape and holds well I may order this today. Windshield space is in short supply for me.

I agree, I doubt that would fit the nexus 7 in landscape, it's "compatible" because it would fit portrait, which is counter intuitive if you ask me.

it doesn't fit. at least from my research it doesn't. there were a couple people who said it didn't fit. i actually have one on the way for my galaxy nexus and i will give it a try with my nexus just to confirm that it doesn't fit.
I've been looking at Halfords...found this which DOES fit the Nexus and can hold a phone as well....

does your phone slip out? I actually have all 4 prongs installed and it's a tight fit for the GN but it works.
I just ordered the following tablet mount and should be receiving it next week. Will most pictures when I get it.
I was originally planning on building a custom mount that covered my radio but that would have cost me a lot more money and this seemed like a quick solution as a gap-fill.

My sensation wont fit at all. The phone is too long with the case installed. So I am on the hunt for another mount like the exogear or the kropsson models. The kropsson model I am looking at has charging options built into the thing, looks very interesting...a two fer!

Would you also possibly measure how small it is when it shrinks down? My GS3 is just a bit shorter than my N7 when the nexus is sideways, I'm hoping it'll fit, if so I'll probably bite on that one...it looks pretty sturdy.

Justin - Sure. If you need any other measurements let me know.

Just found out Clingo holder. Wondering if it can hold a Nexus 7 too...

Might just go for magnets. 2 35mm for nexus and 1 for S3.

That would prevent you seeing the road through the windscreen! Is that why people blame GPS for driving them down a cliff edge?

In my car (Peugeot 107), there is a cut out area on the dash which I would mount the holder to rather than to the windscreen.
It's not in the way either....
