Completed
Rooted Atrix HD rooted with jelly bean leak. Used voodoo to temp unrooted and updated over wifi. root restore once update was completed. No problems at all.
Rooted Atrix HD using
OTA 4.1.1
System version 98.4.20
Thanks to all who worked hard on root and voodoo
I've just received it. It's 98.4.20 and JB 4.1.1. I'm currently using JB leak 98.4.7 but I'm still be able to receive OTA JB. I've copied it to my sdcard. Updating in progress now..

Did you have to sit on your vanilla install unrooted before you were prompted for an update or did it prompt you without root? Does that question even make sense?

Your question makes sense, however it was answered by both posters...
They were both on the JB leak.
I am on stock and cannot get the OTA, and system update says device is up to date...
I am in the soak test BTW...
is this OTA update only for those who have flashed the leaked JB rom
Is there any leak or update for Bell version?
Mate im not received OTA Is it SoakTest or official OTA

Well since both posts were incomplete sentences it was hard to figure out if they went to JB leak after update or they were rooted and had JB leak before update, removed it and then readded.
Your reply cleared it up. Thanks.

pss I asked about if it was only for the AHD owner who flashed the JB leak, beacuse the capture above says it is 11MB.
This update worked fine for me. I was able to keep root as well.
I don't notice any real changes however.

Coulnd someone please post screenshots, any visible changes or a quick changelog.
hopefully this small update fixes some of the GPS probs, higher battery drain, and wifi wonkiness. link to the change log doesnt work.
Edit: Unfortunately, I cant update since I installed the 4.2 transformation pack, so i have modded system files, which it checks
I got update failed. Maybe coz I change the fonts and some modifications to the system. I also received email for soak test yesterday. That's really strange I receive OTA today. Now,I'll try to be back to fresh ICS and update to JB leak.
I was checking and checking it says your device is uptodate it sucks

My question is Idk if this has to do with what your talking about but I got in the soak test did the survey today will I be able to do it if I have apex launcher? phone is completely stock other then that.

Has anyone saved the update zip from cache?
Nothing to do with soak test. This is a leak OTA for the leaked JB update apparently. Maybe Security works now.
Did anyone save the update.zip?
Just got it too.

This for real? Anyone else see this update? I can't believe that there would not be more press on this if was actually rolling out.
No. We would see documentation from vzw. The op is either confused or lying.

It's Real!
The screen capture of the dialog is at:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/HU4aB6YX0F-9C2zqoRBSRA?feat=directlink
Funny thing when I did:
find /cache -mmin -5
I found the files were actually named:
/cache/Blur_Version.5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US.zip
/cache/Blur_Version.5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US.crc
I have copied these files to my sdcard, if anyone has a place to host them let me know!
From my logcat
10-30 17:59:19.468 757 1867 I WSBase : doRequest(): url: http://ws-cloud2-sdc100.blurdev.com....5.5.886.XT875.Verizon.en.US:-143928019&ssl=0
Interesting. Perhaps a vzw push mistake? Usually we see documentation before these go out.

I've tried to install twice and failed
Just to let you know, I have downloaded and attempted to install the update twice.
Once, foolishly hoping I could just update R3Blur3d, and again from close to stock.
This last time, I attempted the update from within Clockwork Recovery, and it gave me some details, the automatic update didn't:
assert failed for the file /system/build.prop, rebuild.fingerprint.
To me, it looks like, if the /system/build.prop file is modified, then this OTA won't go through.
I'm going to make sure, I'm as close to stock as possible and try again!
You would have to flash these in stock recovery on a forever rooted stock phone. Don't use clockwork.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Very Interesting
Once my phone was set totally back to stock, my phone said that there is no update available. It still says that it will not install the update zip file I have due to a problem with the build.prop file.
Originally, I was running R3Blur3rd, which had system files based upon 5.5.893. So, I'm not sure what this update notification meant.
OTA 5.5 Update is being rolled out in batches in an attempt to prevent another data outage like they had when the iPhone 4s rolled out. Fyi

When you get this flashed, please post a screen shot of your about phone settings. The 5.5 file is much larger than 5.6. The 5.6 file has a new LTE radio and webtop app nothing more. So technically, you should receive both 5.5 & 5.6 OTA.
Thanks

I have pushed this and then used the stock recovery to load it and has worked fine Thanks, saves me waiting for the OTA.
I've flash the update via CWM 6.0.3.1. Its work fine on ne GPE Rom. I must reflash the SuperSU, because it doesn't work after the update.
But my Kernel wasn't updated to "3.4.10-gd58931"... maybe this update also includes this kernel version not.

OTA's normally require the original/vanilla rescue system and not CWM
Is there anyway to update and keep root as thats the only thing stopping me from updating it
Just update and then flash the SuperSU package from chainfire

Then does the OTA Update do anything if you flash it with CWM?
Has anyone posted a stock system image from JWR66Y.H1 suitable for flashing with CWM recovery yet?
I know, I'm being super impatient I didn't have any luck flashing the full conversion, so I'm just running CWM Recovery + a Google Edition system image. And I want my updates! hahah.
Anyway I saw BlackJelly posted a lightly modified one, but I was wondering if anyone had done a pure stock one yet.
I received a software update last night (I believe the 5.1.1 update) and everything downloaded fine. During installation, though, I get update interrupted everytime. I'm rooted with pingpongroot if that matters.
Any suggestions or fixes?

As Sam said, you're going to have to either do a full wipe and Odin back to stock or wait and update through flashing fire. Also root may not work after the update so you may want to hold off if you want to keep it, unless you're cool with being a guinnie pig [emoji4]
Good luck with root also if this is 5.1.1 update you know they probably patched the exploit.
Pull the downloaded file and upload a link so everyone has it please.
How is this being pushed out by AT&T? No release news or info from them yet from what I've been able to determine. Would be great if you could grab the files and share so DEV's could pull it apart for us.
What software version are you on now? I doubt that it's 5.1.1.

I believe the OTA files are stored on /Cache section in the phone. You will need root access and something like File Explorer to access /Cache partition. You should be able to copy and move it to SD card so you can plug in a USB and download to a computer, then to dropbox or fileshare.
I dont know if it told you the file name, but you are looking for the 235.96MB file in that folder.

Maybe the manual update changed ur system partition so u now don't get OTA updates. Maybe flash back to stock 5.1.1 an n you'll get both the OTA 6.0 and small update mentioned above. I think Hovatek has a thread on this.

Hey, Ive been running mashmallow 6. 0 for quite some te now. I received it a and already have its backup. You can contact me of you still need help : [email protected]
I just updated to MM 6.0 but still haven't gotten any security patch update, like February Patch..... Am still on January 1st patch. Is it normal?
'Quadrooter' flaws affect over 900 million Android phones
Moto X 2nd gen is vulnerable to the Quadrooter according to this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.checkpoint.quadrooter
Since Motorola never released any security patch and Moto X is out of their future OS update program, what are the options left for the existing Moto X 2nd gen users who want to stick with stock ROM and don't want to part with their Moto X any time soon?
i allready check with Quad Rooter Scan and its possitive the mobile had the 4 vulnerabilities.....the only solution is go to cm13 ....for the moment when the patch is out go back to stock. I hope it will be soon, the news is everywhere so Qualcom has to do something.
I received a security update zip this morning. Unfortunately, I haven't posted enough on XDA to be able to include a link to it. Maybe someone will put it up for everyone.
I would love to have a version of it that I can flash while rooted. I'm not really looking forward to reverting to stock and doing that whole mess...

I had a tough time because I couldn't find the 6.0 system files. Are they available anywhere?
I've also been getting nagged about a security update. I'm rooted so I've been ignoring it. If it's important I'd also like to see a version that's flashable while rooted.

Put it on your internal storage and reboot to recovery. Select apply update from sdcard (or something like that). This will only work if you are truly stock with no modifications to the system partition.

Thanks, I was also thinking about that option in recovery if it will work, but never tried so was skeptical.
One more thing, if I update through this route then will my stock phone will turn into 'modified' one or will remain stock? Will there be any problem in case some OTA arrives?
This should leave you 100% stock

Received a security update today. Not sure if it fixes this bug.
