I think I found a way to get white cover!!!

HI guys, I know that many of us are eager to buy the white nexus s cover but theres no way to... but I think I found a way!!! I was going through korean nexus s forums and I read that this person bought a white cover from Samsung's service center for 21000 won (about $21). Ill be going to korea this summer and I'll update this thread once i find out more. Wait patiently!!

the ns is rather new, and has been released worldwide during these few month, so it's not surprising lots of places are not available yet.
the last time I went to china they had black version and android version, but the white version hasn't even been released yet, so they are not readly available, may be when i go to china on the 28th, they may have them.

probably, since they're being 'officially' sold by the samsung service centers in korea. It might not be long before the covers hit the states

I may be able to get one from someone I know in Korea. He checked it for me and they indeed have the white covers. However, Samsung Service Center is out of stock (they said they'll have few by Friday).
But I don't think one person could buy large quantities though.

So I'm watching football and just saw the Lebron James Note 2 commercial. At the end, they said now buy one get one free flip cover from Verizon. Don't see this on the Verizon website or the Samsung website. Anyone have any luck with this, or my ears just playing tricks on me.

I saw the same thing, went to verizon store and they knew nothing about it and can't find it online, I was thinking I dreamed it up while watching football till I saw your post, lol. Chatted online with a verizon rep and they said there was no such promo?

I saw the commercial also. Been waiting for it to come back so I can take a pic. Told my friend about it but he got the same answer from Verizon, that they can't find the promo or haven't heard about it!

Went to the Verizon store and asked them about the BOGO offer on the cases. They were clueless even though one of the reps said he SAW the commercial. Went to the car and called Verizon, after being on hold for ten minutes they came back and told me it was a T-MOBILE COMMERCIAL. What? What a fail.

I saw the commercial too. I'm going to try the store near me tomorrow. Wonder if you need to be a Verizon customer...lol. Going to walk in with my ATT phone.

It's on the Verizon website. You have to log into your account, go to accessories, select your phone model, then View All Accessories. If i'm not mistaken, when I saw it, the colors are green and teal... I was going to jump on it, but the colors are tad too feminine for my taste.

Right 50% off at samsung is the same price for 2 as the BOGO with Verizon. I got a white flip, orange flip and a TPU for like $50 using the 50% off.

Operation - Trick Best Buy on Sale of Nexus 5

Here is an idea that requires everyone to participate.
Plan: Try and get Best Buy to sell you a Nexus 5 before official launch. Maybe they have stock already.
Action: Call your local Best Buy and act dumb. Tell them you want to buy the Nexus 5 and to put one on hold for you to pick up. Or walk into a store if you prefer and do the same. Ask them if perhaps they have a Nexus 5 sitting in the back of the store. Make no mention of the fact that it hasn't officially been announced for sale.
I forget exactly which phone was sold before it was officially released a years or so ago. I remember reading that this guy got a phone before time and he was a bit nervous about it but posted details online about it. So this is possible people! If you remember this incident and the phone remind us.
If everyone does it we might get lucky and have more info to share on the Nexus 5.
Of course report back if you are successful. It might even be fun to report the failed outcomes too. Be creative. See if you can snag an inventory screen shot. See if at least they tell you that they are back there but that they can't be touched.
PS - Don't be that guy. If you think this is a stupid plan be polite. Offer your opinion and insight in a respectful way. You can't say it isn't possible because this has happened before. Sure there are practices in place to prevent this. But all it takes is one rookie mistake and things go unexpected. This is all in good fun. We might get lucky!

We don't know if Best Buy is going to sell the Nexus 5. But they might. They sell all the other Google products (Nexus 7, Chromecast, Chromebook, etc). We also know from a particular Canadian store that there is Nexus 5 inventory. So the Nexus 5 isn't going to be exclusive to the Play Store. None if this is definite for Best Buy, but it can't hurt to try our luck. Perhaps Google learned from the N4 launch that Play Store only sales is bad way to launch a product.
... And I got my N4 and N10 from the Play Store on launch day.

Are you talking about those end cap displays? I thought they were only for N7, Chromcast

UK CarPhone Warehouse has 3,000 in stock according to a leak , I wonder if it would work there as in best buy? Does it depend on how clueless the staff is?

I think there is a definite possibility it will be sold at Best Buy. Google seems to be taking a different direction with this phone. More hype, and evleaks posted that it is going to be available on Sprint..

a friend of mine who works at BB as a manager told me they are expecting to sell the phone, but that they have yet to receive any units and might not get them until after its already out. This is on LI NY btw

If they're going to sell the phone it should be in their inventory systems; it's an easy thing to check.

Very true, that's why I find it's hard to believe that they'll have the N5 at launch. Someone should've posted a picture of the inventory already. I know I would if I was still there. (Like for the Wii's and PS3's.)

I'm pretty confident they are. I visit my local BestBuy yesterday and asked a customer service rep. He said he knew what I was talking about and went to ask his manager if he could sell it. When he came back 2-3 minutes later, he told me suddenly he wasn't permitted to talk about it because it's not official, so he couldn't legally converse over it. I'm going to try back at another location and see if I can get someone to pop early there, I also got my Nexus 7 2013 48 hours before launch just because I asked. Some guy went in the back and got it for me. Worth a try I suppose.

I am wondering if anyone knows when local Best Buy stores will sell this? I have seen a lot of problems on here so I am waiting for it to be available in store I think...

I am not sure when or if they will, but it cost them a sale. I would have paid a little extra to buy it locally. However, I ended up paying about $450.00 for it online and that included a two year warranty that covered drops, spills, etc! From what I have read so far, most of the issues seem to be with the dock. I did not get that anyway. I was already paying the limit of what I would pay for a tablet, and I think $150.00 is too much for a plastic dock, especially if it has quality issues.

Yeah I want to get it locally too but will probably buy off Amazon when its no longer under review and back for sale from Amazon again.

Yeah. Its not coming from amazon which is why its more money.

I was also waiting for this to be at Best Buy to get in stores, but they might not have it physically available... But you can order it in stores and it'll come in a few days for the price its listed for on their site or order it online and have it delivered to your local best buy. This could be easier in case of returns... I did this a last month with a 3rd party DLSR lens that was listed on their site on sale and was not available in stores and it came in 5days after I placed the order and paid for it in the store.
Also, just checked and Amazon has both the tablet and dock shipping directly from them.

Has best buy ever had the 16 gb version online? I've only ever seen the 32. Hoping to buy it there because I have some credit.
Edit: never mind, there is no 16 gb. Thinking of something else.

I was in my local Best Buy store recently, and asked an employee if they knew if when they were getting the TF701 in stores. The employee told me that more than likely, it would always be an item that is only available online. Of course this employee may very well be wrong, but they did seem to be very familiar with the TF701, whereas many other Best Buy employees seem to have never even heard of it before. Either way, it has definitely been available long enough to be in stores by now! This leads me to believe that the employee I questioned was correct. If it never makes it to store shelves for hands-on experiences, that's bad news for the TF701...

I was planning on buying one online and picking it up at the store on my lunch break. So far, nothing showing on their site. I am refreshing quite a bit. Already see it available on Play Store. Nothing on Amazon or BB as was stated it should be available today.

When I called Google last week because I lost patience waiting for tracking confirmation, I mentioned to them that if I wasn't getting it today (Launch Day), I might add well cancel my pre-order & just go to Best Buy today...
I was told that they have exclusivity. He knew eventually they'd all be available everywhere, but didn't know when.
I don't know how reliable a customer service rep is, and I don't know anyone from Best Buy... Just sharing my limited knowledge. Haha.

As far as I know, they are not available in the stores but we don't know for sure. We are mainly online support. You could try to contact the stores to see if they have them but they are not showing up as available online which usually means they're not available in the stores either.

I called a Best Buy here in Tampa by my office. They told me they were sold out. So it would appear that they may have had some available this morning but no longer due. With that in mind I have gave up and ordered one from the Play store.

No, it was just unsubstantiated rumors spread by all the tech blogs. That's probably the information they got at I/O, but nobody stated where they got that info from.

Best Buy
I also went into a Best Buy today looking for the Gear Live today. The Samsung rep just kind of shrugged me off and said she didn't think Best Buy was carrying those. I know better because on the Best Buy site Android Wear is listed as coming soon and every press release has said they'd be getting them. I just left wasn't in the mood to debate with her. I really wish Best Buy was more knowledgeable about their products especially the Samsung reps

I went to two Best Buys in Durham, NC and neither has the Gear Live. In store #1, the Samsung rep knew the watch existed, but didn't know that it was listed as "coming soon" on Best Buy's website. He did however ask the store manager if they had received any in inventory that just weren't being sold yet, and was told they hadn't received any at all. Store #2 rep knew what I was looking for and said he had no idea when they will be getting them.

Buying In Store
Most likely, it will be at least a month or two before they come to the store. Google did that with the last few Nexus phones and tablets for a while so it doesn't seem to far fetched if it won't be in store before August.

I don't doubt or argue that is what you were told, but I'd be very surprised if they actually gave you correct information. Perhaps they sold out of a different Gear watch and didn't recognize or even know that you're asking about the Gear Live. My in store visits and calls to local Best Buys all indicate a great lack of knowledge that the Gear Live even exists, and none of the 4 stores I spoke to (two in person) had any idea when they would begin receiving them. I think when they show up on Best Buy's website is going to be when they are actually available in stores.

Best Buy says pre-order for the LG G Watch, but only says "Coming soon" for the Samsung Gear Live...I just checked again 30 seconds ago.

I got mine from Play Store with overnight.

Yeah i didn't bother with what they had to say at BB. I ordered from the Play store at noon yesterday and it arrived at noon today. I am not complaining LOL
