I thought about doing that, but in the repository that is here in the forum there are many and I do not know which to use or install it from the pc
If you want the latest version of ICS justgo to htcdev, kernel source code section, configure filter by device (choose Incredible S) and download any of three latest.

and how must be installed?
It's an exe file, just install HTC sync on your PC, connect phone in fastboot mode to it, wait for drivers to install and run exe file.

Since you're from Mexico I think that LATAM version is suitable for you. However, all three RUU packs on htcdev contain the same RUU.

Try Nik's new rom, I'm downloading now, According to nik post and users experience, this rom works on any hboot with any condition
Sent from my Incredible S using Tapatalk 2
somehow, the code will look into your device root folder /data/local/tmp/ and trying to create new folder and copy the hb file into it and flash it through the bootloader. the reason why the .exe is fail due to the blackrose can't access to the folder to paste the file and you see the cmd stuck and force exits.
i get mine done by:
1. 4ext touch recovery
2. IceColdSandwich 7.2.0 FAREWELL edition
make sure you get this done before you use the blackrose:
1. android SDK + platform tools and htc sync (drivers only) installed on your computer
2. your phone needs to be switched on normally.
3. connected via USB and in charge only mode with usb debugging switched on
if still not working, flash other rom and try again.
hope the developer will solve this problem for everyone.

Since you are S-OFF, there is a work around, but it is not very noob friendly.
You should look at ARHD v3.0 since it is pretty close to the stock ROM.

If you have a SD card reader, then you can flash BlackRose 2.02.0002 via the PG32IMG.zip method. And then you should be able to copy the ROM to the sd card and install it from recovery mode.

What's in your "install.zip"?
If you are trying to install the BlackRose bootloader just use the file I linked to above.
If you are attempting to upgrade to the 4.10.405.1 RUU via SD-Card then you must extract the rom.zip from the RUU then copy it to your SD-Card and install the upgrade via CWM or 4EXT recovery.
If you have stock recovery & your phone has either a WWE CIDnum or SuperCID then rename the rom.zip file to update.zip to install that way.
If you want to install rom.zip via goldcard then rename it to PG32IMG.zip on your gold card & boot away to upgrade!
Good luck.
P.S.
I know it's been said many-a-time but, to extract the actual ROM-File from the Rom Update Utility (RUU) these are the steps!
In Windows:
Run the RUU<-*->.exe file
When it's done extracting the setup files to your Windows drive, it will pause for user input (like accepting agreements & a "NEXT" button)
Don't give it ANY input but, since the setup window insists on being always-on-top, move it to the edge of your screen to get it out of the way.
With "Windows Explorer" (or similar) navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\"current user you're logged in as"\Local Settings\Temp
Now, make sure you're in Folder/File "Details" view with "Date Created" as one of the details (View->Choose Details...etc.)
Click "Date Created" & scroll down to the 2 most recently created folders (the folders names will be meaningless in this)
Slowly mouse over each of these folders. One will reveal it contains slightly more data than the other (for example 356MB vs 348MB)
Open the larger folder which contains another folder which will contain yet another folder!!
In the last folder of this tree scroll down until you find "rom.zip", THIS IS YOUR UPDATE ZIP FILE!!!
COPY "rom.zip" somewhere else (like the Desktop) as it will disappear when you cancel the RUU Installer.
Now simply move the RUU window onto the screen again so you can cancel it.
THAT'S IT - YOU'RE DONE! You have now extracted the rom.zip from the RUU Installer & can put it to work.
If you're wanting to do this in Linux look out for this tool/file OpenRUU-Xtract-beta2.zip
I think it has a binary for *cough*cough*puke* mac in there too.
I am constantly bewildered why Linux(for computer Genii) is psychologically paired up with mac(for rich hex-illiterate morons) simply because they are both non-Windows!!
@n1cnak I'm very interested in the Virgin and Optus Sense 3.0 RUU's that you made mention of in the OP. If you could provide download links it would be very much appreciated.

You need to update your Revolutionary HBOOT 6.13.1002 to the BlackRose 2.02.0002 HBOOT and then your phone should boot correctly.

OK then it sounds like you need to create a PG32IMG.zip file that contains the BlackRose HBOOT image and copy that to your SD card and flash it that way.
The BlackRose installer relies on adb debugging being enabled, but if your phone won't boot, then that is why the installer stalls at "Waiting for Device".
I tried to flash a RUU in order to get back to stock but what ended up happening was that after the installation the phone would continue to boot up on the HTC screen and continue in that manner.
When I go into Hboot mode this is the information that comes up:

I know other people have had this problem and some of the solutions recommended were getting the rom.zip file from the RUU and renaming it to PG32IMG.zip and putting that on the root of the sdcard. I would like to know which RUU would be best for doing this as the one I previously used doesn't work.

Since you are S-OFF with the Revolutionary HBOOT, you can not simply flash a RUU to return to stock because the Revolutionary HBOOT prevents itself from being overwritten.
Also the RUU you are attempting to flash is an old Froyo ROM and if you have run any Gingerbread based ROMs, this RUU would have caused you to radio brick your phone. In fact you may have already radio bricked it and that is why it won't boot past the HTC screen.
You need to search this forum for the correct way to remove the Revolutionary S-OFF and return to stock.
I tried using this method to get rid of S-OFF but whenever I attempt 2c I get this: error: cannot load 'vivo_downgrade.img'

Hey guys, so this is my first post here on XDA, and being totally honest I am a complete noob who has no idea what technical terms mean. Terms like S-Off and H-Boot are all Greek to me. :/
Ok so I have an Incredible S which came with a custom ICS Rom. But since there's an official rom from HTC Dev I downloaded that, connected my phone to HTC Sync and ran the exe file. Everything went fine, the progress bar went on, but after the setup on my pc said that it was completed the phone just seems to be stuck on the HTC white screen. It was that was for over an hour and I knew something had gone wrong.
The rom that I downloaded was the NAM one.
I know how to get into the bootloader screen (power and volume down) and these are what I see there:
VIVO PVT **** S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.13.1002
RADIO-3831.19.00.19_M

Apr 1 2011,18:34:39
I thought I got a corrupted rom or something so I downloaded the WWE rom from HTC Dev as well, but when I extracted the rar file it's a whole load of folders and files I don't even know how to use, unlike the earlier NAM file which was a simple exe. What worries me more is that I have no idea how to even connect the phone to my USB and get a rom inside the SD card so I could flash it through the bootloader.
I went through so many threads on this forum but like I said, I don't really understand all the techy terms. :/
Many apologies, but I'd really appreciate a walkthrough on how I can get my phone to work again.
Present status with the phone is that it won't get past the HTC logo screen and won't connect to the computer.
Please help!
Thank you!

Your phone has the Revolutionary S-OFF HBOOT which is preventing the WWE RUU from running successfully. At this point, you have the new ROM installed, but it requires the stock HTC ICS HBOOT be in place to boot and run, thus the reason the phone gets hung at the HTC screen.
I suggest you reinstall a custom recovery such as 4EXT and then install mike1986's ARHD ROM. This is based on the latest HTC ICS ROM that you have attempted to install, but has a number of performance tweaks.

I suggest you reinstall a custom recovery such as 4EXT and then install mike1986's ARHD ROM. This is based on the latest HTC ICS ROM that you have attempted to install, but has a number of performance tweaks.

Will you not need Blackrose HBOOT as well?

Possibly. Although mike1986 has listed it on previous versions as being a requirement, it has run perfectly fine on Revolutionary HBOOT 6.13.
Follow Up: Reinstall Recovery

Hi tpbklake,
So I am new to this as well so bare with me. I have the exact same problem (WWE RUU not running because of Revolutionary S-OFF HBOOT) however I'm not sure how to go about implementing your solution. You see, I can open the bootloader however I can't get past it. Fastboot doesn't do anything for me. What can I do to get past this problem?

Do you have HTC Sync and the associated drivers installed on your PC? What OS are you running? It sounds like a driver issue to me.

I do have HTC Sync and I do have the HTC drivers installed. I'm running Windows 7. The problem is that HTC Sync nor my computer cant locate the device because the phone doesn't go past the bootloader screen. If I try to start the phone normally or in recovery mode it just freezes at the white htc screen.

OK, remove HTC Sync, but leave the HTC drivers installed.
Boot the phone into bootloader and then then select FASTBOOT from the HBOOT menu.
Then connect your phone with the USB cable and the phone menu should change to FASTBOOT USB.
Once you get that far, you should be able to flash a custom recovery using the command
fastboot flash recovery [name of the recovery.img file]
You should download the recovery.img file to your PC and put it in the same directory where you have the adb.exe and fastboot.exe.
THANK YOU

x.xx.709.x is in your list it should work
My recommendation is to install rumrunner using 32 bit ubuntu. Not 64. No worries about drivers.. you don't have to install ubuntu, just put it on a disk or usb, boot into it and select try instead of install. After days of tryng different methods, computers and versions of windows, ubuntu worked the first time . Rumrunner has a version for ubuntu and instructions on their site
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
can we post outside links? >.> i hope we can here try this http://rumrunner.us/downloads-2/

For sure? if it wont , the phone can brick or something?
im on 3.63 and i was able to S-OFF my phone.
So..
I tried to do that and its says after the dots:
ERROR: run rumrunner again and READ (no adb connection to device. Debugging on
Drivers?)
Press ENTER to exit
Drivers installed.
There is ADB Connection.
Debugging on.
1) are you on windows or linux
2) if your on windows make sure you reboot to fastboot first and connect cable so it can install the second driver
3) also watch the phone when its running at one point you have to allow the computer to connect in a higher mode or it will fail and still might but after you allow/accept this mode it should be good to go
I was able to set S-OFF on my ATT HTC One. I would suggest to make sure the drivers you have is the latest.
1. Android SDK - http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
2. Search the xda forums for latest compatible driver for your PC. Here's a thread with a collection of windows drivers - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089508
3. Make sure to see your phone appear in Device Manager when connected (if using Windows OS).
4. You can also use the following command after the Android SDK "platform-tools" is installed & phone connected: adb devices
Hope this help.
