Hi all, im looking for anyone that can provide the xperia ftf file for rogers xperia t version.
I have tried to get it by repairing my phone but i get this error; sony update engine doesn't have software available for your phone.
So even if you dont have the ftf file and can share the blob file i can make the ftf file.
Thanks
Just want to add a not for new LT30a phone owners.
Do not flash or root your phone with a rogers branded xperia t (LT30A) with out backing it up by running the pc companion update first. If you do you wont be able to go to stock until we have a FTF file here to use with flashtool (rogers is checking build prop or something that stops the update).
Now I have already had 2 rogers xperia t's and can say with out question the roms here are not for our xperia T's. they will flash but you will get horrible battery life (my phone dies on my desk in 4 hours just sitting there not even using it with a full battery).
Also you will mess up the LTE network, if i connect on LTE my phone gets hot enough for me to put it down. you will also notice that our versions of the xperia T have an option in mobile network settings under network mode to use LTE (preferred)/wcdma/gsm. well if you open that option LTE is missing. It's there on stock roms.
All the issue's above happened on both my Xperia T's.
Stuck with a pretty paper weight for now.
Any ways just want to save someone else from the headaches I'm experiencing.
Means its not on Sony's servers. Had that happen for the at&t TL too. Had to wait a week or so till they got it on there.

What version of the FW do you have?
If you have the latest version you will not see any updates - you will also not be able to DL the latest version of the firmware through the PC companion software because there is nothing to DL. This leaves you without the ability to create a ftf for your phone - just like me. I bought mine late last week and although I am very pleased with the current state of the phone, I plan on purchasing my unlock code and moving forward with Rom installation etc. once my intial terror of creating a lovely coaster is overwith. I'm on MTS and will legitimately unlock then get flashing soon.

Not true. There is always a repair option that will download and install the latest version even if your phone had that latest version
Sent from my LT30p xda premium app.
How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
here's what sucks, i had the uk generic .303 rom flashed and i can repair the phone with pc comanion. problem is it puts on the .195 o2 uk rom.
Hope it does not take to long to get the rogers ftf file here.

I'm updating right now. I'll keep you posted.
---------- Post added at 08:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:20 PM ----------
It finished and says:
Sony Xperia T (LT30) was updated with 7.0.A.3.195.
Kinda new to this, what's next or did I do it wrong.
---------- Post added at 08:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:28 PM ----------
OK I followed this guide to create an FTF and got it created. Where can I upload it to?
http://mytechencounters.wordpress.c...eate-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/
However, I don't know is the ftf .193 or .195? Does the "blob_fs" get created with the new update version .195 or does it generate a backup of my .193?
It will be the new version. You can upload to google drive easily enough. Just zip the file first.

Hello nice people of this forum, I've just got myself an Xperia V, running 9.0.1.D.0.10, and is looking for a method to root it without unlocking the bootloader.
I've tried googling it and searching the forums but came back empty. Perhaps some nice person can help me.
Thanks,

If you look in v android development there is an unsecure kernel, but this is for older firmware, maybe it works
Edit: you must unlock bootloader for custom kernel, i do not think bin4ry method works for newer firmwares

I have tried rooting by flashing that kernel but I don't seems to get root when I check with the root checker app. Would you be able to advise on this? I would have posted in that thread but apparently I don't have enough post count.

There may be a way to root without unlocked bootloader
Try this well-known way of rooting Xperia AX in Japan.
I guess it's also possible for V to root.
1. Here is a Xperia VL's old rom and you can flash this kernel.sin and system.sin with V's loader.sin.
I can't post the link, but you can find it in uploaded.net. The ID is 3gvvv3w6.
2. Then, Root.
3. Create /data/local.prop (ro.kernel.qemu=1).
4. Flash V's system.sin without wiping.
5. Replace ric, install Busybox and Superuser.
6. Flash V's kernel.sin without wiping.
7. Do Factory data reset to easily delete unnecessary apps.

Yup, no CM10 yet for TX, though FXP devs said on their website they will support it eventually.
Hold on to your S3 first bro, it is still better(or on par) than other phones available around. And this year is all about 1080p screen LOL. Wait a bit for those phones when it's already available in the store shelves. And don't forget also about the much anticipated S4 hehehe.

I just made a good deal and straight swapped my S3 to TX. Damn, the stock fw is 100x better than the S3 IMO. Not much bloatware compared to that, and screen is amazing. Will just patiently wait for JB and CM10 for TX. First off, will need to root the device. How do I determine that my bootloader is unlocked? This is sim-free phone.

See the sticky in all in one thread in q&a section by greg, everything is there.
To quickly know if your phone is bootloader-unlockable, input this in your dial pad, *#*#7378423#*#* then choose service info, then configuration, there you will see at rooting status:bootloader unlock allowed:yes(then you may start unlocking the bootloader on Sony dev site, just follow the procedure there)

No need to root if you are going to unlock your bootloader.
That "rooting status:bootloader unlock allowed:yes" refers to unlocking the bootloader whilst "rooting" the device using the runme.bat method just gives you superuser access.
They are different things,
If you unlock your ootloader, then just flash an insecure kernel, you automatically then get root access.

if you're not familiar yet with flashtool software with Xperia phones and if you don't mind unlocking your bootloader already(which may void your warranty), just go here to Sony dev site and follow procedure to unlock
after unlock, just fastboot an insecure kernel(w/ CWM), i used this -->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922925
then flash this SU binary in CWM -->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35641834&postcount=91

There's always an option to exclude the base band in flashtool....
I have latest Xperia TL with latest unbranded .140 Xperia T firmware with some custom locked roms
The only button not greyed out on Flashtool is the flash button and when I choose the firmware file all the sections/panes to the right are greyed out, why I'm stumped.

1 Install Flashtool.
2 Find a .140 FTF file for the Xperia T ( I suggest the EU version or UK ) and make sure its jelly bean http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918397
3 Flash it and it will say Exclude Baseband. This is a must and is always there even if you think its not
4 Flash and Play
When I downloaded the newest flashtool for my work computer, I didn't see any option to exclude baseband either. I had to install a slightly older version of flashtool to get where you can pick and choose what parts of the ftf you want to flash. Hope this helps!

Suggesting any particular ROM is against XDA Rules. It is disrespectful for the developers. It's better you head over to the development section and try few by yourself.

Hello guys i was wondering when 4.2 update for the Xperia Sp wll be released by Sony. Also when is 4.3 and 5.0 comming ?
Sony is skipping 4.2.2 for the SP and it will get 4.3 soon. 5 isn't released and we will have to pray and hope that Sony will ever give us that update.

Thanks for your answer and it seems pretty logical that Sony skiped the 4.2.2 but Xperia Sp was designed as a Mid to High End device so i am pretty sure that we will have to put custom roms in it after 5.3

When i was going to buy a new phone i was between Xperia T and Xperia SP and i went with the SP (better proccessor , more recent device , larger screen , better ppi , Adreno 320)
And someone in the forum mentioned that its is more possible that Xperia T will get the 5.0 update than Xperia SP so i thought that was right ,,,,
We aren't sure if or when 5.0 will be released and I'm 100% sure that the SP will get the update rather than the T.

Ok thats good to hear :laugh::laugh:
Stop making assumptions, no one knows if the SP or T will or not get 5.0, because it's not even released... 4.3 just came out. But I assure you won't get screwed by Qualcomm like in the S because they wouldn't drop support on the Moto X chip that quickly

breaking news for xperia sp

Sony is skipping 4.2.2 for the SP and it will get 4.3 soon. 5 isn't released and we will have to pray and hope that Sony will ever give us that update.
