[Q] Who's having trouble with UPS? - Nexus 4 General

Quick Poll for XDA,
Who is having issues with UPS?
Here is my personal experience below:
My phone was "out on vehicle for delivery today" by "end of day" yesterday. Yesterday morning, the tracking status stated that it was on the road at 9:03 AM. At 11:30 PM, the status changed back to in transit. Today, tracking info states that it's out for delivery again since 2:51 AM. Now it is 5:10 PM with no package. Contacted CSR last night, no response. This is not the first time UPS has let me down.
Anyone else having similar experiences?

It's holiday season strange things happen, one time i got a package from them and the tracking was just changing from on truck for delivery to arriva scan even though i had my package already. Good luck

I am not looking forward to this. My brother in law is some sort of managment at the UPS facility near me. If I have a problem like this he will definitely hear about it.

I think I just got my Nexus 4 for free

Hey guys, I bought the Nexus 4 3 minutes before it officially went on sale so I avoided all the confusion and frustration of the site crashes and limbos.
I was charged the appropriate amount on my credit card once the device shipped and I was promptly given a tracking number which I have been watching my device moving closer and closer to my house in Newfoundland with.
But today I checked my credit card and instead of having nearly 500$ in charges I had 50$ or so. I called the bank and explained the situation and he agreed with me that they may have refunded me the price of the phone.
So now I'm curious about the expected delivery date of Friday, will I get the phone or not? It's quite the mysterious situation.

This doesn't belong in General and could have easily been asked in any of the existing threads..

Pending charges go after 3 days, they'll recharge the amount soon, same thing is happening for most people.
There is already a thread regarding this.

Google limits nexus 4 purchases to 2 AWESOME

http://phandroid.com/2012/11/27/nexus-4-limit-2-units/
A person in the market thread posted his order and it showed he ordered 7 on the 13th he claims that they were for presents but who knows. Anyway after all the high priced ebay items i was hoping there would be a limit and google came through. It seems if you ordered 2 the first round you couldnt order the same variant 8 or 16 from the same account. So a single account could technically order 4 phones. Another article stated that those who ordered more than 2 would only be shipped 2. Has this happened to anyone? Did you really need more than 2? I for one hope a lot over ebayers got their plans foiled with this one.
Too little too late.
If they could get enough stock in the play store none of these greedy sellers would be able to mark up prices so much.

The RMA shipping thread

I was searching pretty hard for a few days but have not seen a thread like this.
I ordered a replacement phone on the 3rd of December. The CSR quoted me within 5 days. But nothing had updated just like being in the limbo.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Btw I called google a few times but they said they know nothing.

Do you have a tracking number? If so, does the tracking page just have a yellow box indicating that a shipping label was created?
I ordered my RMA unit on the 29th and received a tracking number the following day. The tracking number wasn't updated to show any scan information until around 10PM on the 5th. The phone was delivered the following day (the 6th).
In the same boat. Called for a replacement on the 30th of November says it'll ship out in less than a week on my receipt for the RMA and I haven't gotten any confirmation yet that it's shipped, CSR I spoke to had no clue about it and thought I wanted to track the phone I was returning back the whole time when I called asking if it had shipped yet -_-

Dec 1 RMA request. No shipping yet. CSR aint know who Aaron Rodgers is they say they'll ask the "specialist"..
So we're in RMA limbo then? Joy!

Exact same for me.
When I did my RMA I didn't receive a shipping email till the night before it was delivered. The only reason I knew it had shipped was because of ups my choice alert emails

Requested RMA and ordered my replacement phone on Dec 3rd, haven't heard from them anything since.
I bet they ran out of RMA stock too....
Yeah, ordered my replacement phone on the 30th. Lady I talked to before ordering said it should ship in two to three days. Called after day four, they said I should've been told up to five days. Called today and the chick said I SHOULD get taking info today.
I did notice the date on the order in the play store changed from the 1st to the 7th. Hopefully that means something like last time.
I was more than willing to wait to get the phone but now they actually have my money and I have no device.

They don't have your money. That's an auth you see on your credit card. they charge when the phone ships.
I got my RMA on Dec. 6 and I haven't yet rec'd an email with a tracking number for the replacement. Their RMA process is a disappointment.
Did a RMA on the 4th and still no word. I emailed a CSR about it and they said they emailed a specialist to see what was going on with my order. The CSR will get back to me once the specialist responds to him. Wooo.. I'm fu*ked :banghead:

Ugh! I just called Google to see why I haven't rec'd a tracking number for my replacement phone. They told me that the customer service representative that I spoke to on Dec. 6 (when arranging my RMA) never submitted a replacement request! So, I am just now in line to get my replacement. They said it will be 3-5 days so hopefully I'll have a defect-free Nexus 4 by the end of the week.
Yeah I'm just worried I'm gonna get another defect, hope not especially after this wait we're going through (again)

Do you mean you've never received a link from the CSR to place your replacement order?
I requested a RMA on 11/30. I got an email from the CSR with a link to place an order for the replacement myself.
Anyhow, I am also in RMA limbo. No shipping info. The replacement order has not changed since the day I submitted it.

That's right; I never received a link from the CSR to place a replacement order. The CSR didn't say anything about it; she just said my replacement would arrive in a few days.
Damnit! Seems like I'm also in limbo. This will be my third nexus 4. They better get it right or i'll just grab a galaxy nexus. So disappointed from Google they basically killed my feelings for this phone..

are all you RMA'n for a different reasons?

Bad news for anyone who is waiting for a warranty exchange on their Nexus 4.

As I know there are many of us out there with defective handsets I thought I should pass this on. I originally received my nexus 4 on 11/29 (defective of course), I called the next day to order a warranty replacement and was told the process and that the estimated ship date was less than one week. This was actually stated on my receipt as well. After receiving no information by 12/7 I called to check on my exchanges status only to be told an error was made on my exchange request but they corrected it and it would ship at the latest by Tuesday, 12/11.
Soooo, I call today since still no word and I was told a specialist would research my order and update me directly within 48 hours. Now the clincher, this is what the specialist sent me:
"Hi again D____ ,
I've received a response from the specialist. Due to high demand, replacements for the Nexus 4 are being delayed in shipping out. The current estimate is that they will ship in 3-5 weeks.*I'm sincerely sorry for the inconvenience."
So, how do you like them apples?

I purchased my N4 the first day (US), and received it the week later. I had some SIM card reader issues, eventually got around to activating a new SIM to confirm my issues..still didn't work, so I called Nexus support this Monday night. They filed an RMA. The phone was shipped out Tuesday morning via 2-day air and arrived today. I am shipping my old one back tomorrow.
I hate to say it, but I think you got unlucky (I was very afraid I was going to have to wait weeks as well).
Yeah that'd really unlucky i got my RMA 3 days after I called. But at least u can hold onto the original till the replacement ships

When you do the rma, do they charge you for the second until they get the defect back? I really need to send mine in due to the charger port working maybe 50% of the time but can't have another 400$ tied up with Google that long again.

no, they will not do that. once ups gets it, google is informed.
OP if you check your nexus 4 status it'll say preorder. I got the same issue as you. Still waiting on Google to ship. I called them up asking about the the 21 days to return the defective unit if I don't receive my replacement in time. They said I'll still be charged even if they can't send it out in time. Her name isf Emily ( or Emilia ).
It's because of some idiots doing exchanges for stupid reasons. Know a guy who did one because he has a scratch on the back of the phone

OK a bit off topic..I ordered a N4 off ebay(unused/factory sealed) and should be here tomorrow. If, heavens forbid, the phone is defective am i still covered by google?/ in that case who do i contact for a warranty exchange??!
Seller doesn't accept returns and says under the product description "if there is any problem with the phone you go deal with google directly"
I called Monday about starting an RMA, was told by the CSR (Katie) that I would receive an email about it. I thought it was strange she didn't ask me to do a survey, and she was pretty much uninterested the entire call. I gave it till today, then decided to phone back in and see if I had indeed been started with an RMA. Shocker, I had not. Morgan, who was quite helpful, started up the RMA right away. I got my email and the cart to order the RMA, etc. If Google thinks they're holding a $349 authorization charge on my card for 3-5 weeks, they're ****ing high.
Let us know if you get any updated info.

You may get trouble going to Google and they may refer you to LG.
I make it a point to never buy from eBayers that do not accept returns.

Indeed! Keep in mind too that the warranty is only for the original buyer and not transferable.

I ordered an RMA replacement yesterday, just got my shipping confirmation and tracking number today.
Does anyone know if this will be stuck at the same yellow screen for another week, just like usual? Or does it actually ship?
If you're lucky it gets updated the same day, as I've seen. If you're unlucky you may get it tomorrow, or get lost in the abyss. Here's to hoping for you.

My Nexus 5 stolen by UPS

Ordered a Nexus 5 on Oct 31st and tracking showed it was out for delivery today. Could not wait to get it! At 6:15 pm there was a knock on the door and when I opened the door I saw the UPS driver walking back to his truck. I picked up the package and called "thank you" to the driver. Once inside I opened the brown shipping box and removed the inside retail Nexus 5 box. The retail box appeared to have some damage. The blue outer sleeve was torn back on one end and the end flaps of the inner white box were also torn. Inside the box was the documentation, wall charger, USB cord, and SIM removal tool, but the Nexus 5 phone was missing! I looked back at the brown outer shipping box and then could see that someone had torn the end flap on it as well. Once they had removed the Nexus 5 phone they used packing tape to seal the shipping box and that is how it was delivered this evening to me.
The worst part is that since I could see by the tracking info that the package was out for delivery today, I went ahead and listed my current phone on eBay with a buy it now price. I figured it would take a few days to sell, but no, it sold within a few hours. so now I must send off my current phone to the buyer who has already paid me and I have no new phone. Called Google and was told that they would open an investigation and would refund the full amount of my order, but that I would have to place a new order on the Play store if I wanted to replace the stolen Nexus 5. Of course the Play store is now out of stock and new orders are having to wait 3-4 weeks for it to ship.
Update:
I ordered my replacement Nexus 5 on Nov. 7th and this time selected 2 day shipping. Play Store said it would "leave the warehouse on Nov. 22". Got an email on Nov. 11th saying it had shipped and I received it on Tuesday the 12th. Using 2 day shipping the package did not go through the Vernon, CA hub as the one that was stolen did. I received a full refund from Google for the stolen phone 8 days after reporting it. It was a pain to have this happen, but all is good now and I am loving the Nexus 5!
That's terrible.. Same thing happen to me with USPS. Had to take a hit and yell Out screw you universe!!!
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Wow thats horrible! In my opinion thats worst then them loosing your package! Like you know your all excited it finally arrived and you get ripped apart emotionally because your upset! Hopefully everything works out for you!
I am really sorry to hear that. Such a ****ty situation.
If it's any consolation, it does look like those ordering this week with "2-3 week" and "3-4 week" shipping are actually seeing their packages ship immediately. So turn around time will probably be quicker than you think. It all still sucks, nonetheless.
this is some upside-down bs right here.
sorry dude. you have the imei on the box. i wonder if anyone can see where that N5 (imei) activates and starts pinging...
After reporting the incident to Google, I was sent an email asking for my consent authorizing Google to remotely disable the device with the IMEI/SERIAL number of the phone that was shipped to me. Of course I replied yes!
Oh you too man! I feel your pain. Here is my post.
BTW you should have replied I CONSENT.

This and file a police report!
I once lost my video card "delivered." To date I haven't figured out who the thief is!
you serously didn't call UPS yet to report the driver? tell them the time of delivery they'll know exactly who was on shift
even if it wasnt the driver, you need to report this, this is UPS losing credibility, comeonnow
Exactly. The more time you wait the note it looks like something else happened. Also. In thinking those with stolen phone should send pics and your stories to android police blog and other blogs so not publicity can be made. If thief's know people are aware there is an issue they may not rus riskh it.
