Hi,
I'm not able to export S-Planner events on to PC using Samsung Kies.
When I try to export it is getting interrupted in the middle. Any clues/suggestions?
Note that I could export other things like, contacts, messages, etc...
thanks.

Hello,
Is there a way i can sync contacts without Microsoft outlook. I don't have the program, and i really don't want to buy the program.
I have vista home premium
Can anyone help me please
You could try http://www.upvise.com
(From FAQ):
Can I export my Upvise contacts back to my phone address book?
We don't currently support exporting your Upvise contacts to your phone's native contact list. You can however use the Upvise contact manager directly to search, call, email, edit and view a contact, etc...
You can also export the Upvise contacts from your web account as a CSV file, which you can then re-import into third-party desktop contact managers.
Dashwire is similar, http://www.dashwire.com/

Have you tried to import using gmail contacts? I have always used that.
I did see that when you open the contacts > menu > more > import/ export > import from SD card or Export to SD card.............searching for vcard

What are you exporting from? Vcard isn't as universal as it should be. You could try creating a contact on the phone, then export it - import on your pc and try to find out what is different.

I'm using the import/export feature built into the phone. I chalked it up to having 500 some odd contacts.

So you are trying to export contacts on the phone and re-import them - like the group/ringtone fix - making dupes on phone of the ones in google?
Someone on another forum, found that birthday's with no year caused a problem for google contacts. It could be something like this, but I don't know where to start looking.
Having same issue.
Captivate cannot read vcards it sends to itself through email
I created a new contact on my Captivate, sent namecard for the contact using email, sent the email to myself. After receiving the email on my phone, I clicked Open using Contacts. I then get an error:
Reading of vCard has failed ... I/O error.
WTF ? Crazy !!
I had some trouble trying to put contacts directly into the phone.
So, I just loaded them into the gmail website contacts from the PC.
Since then, no problems, and they stay synced up.
In any standard .vcf file, you should be able to open it with a text editor to eliminate corrupted entries. Just compare files that import to those that don't and you will figure out what is breaking import.
Anyone here knows how to transfer contacts from Phone to Google!?!
You can use KIEs to export your contacts, and then import it into Gmail.

[Q] How to import contact`s categories from Outlook 2007 via Samsung KIES ?
Well,
I have problems syncing Galaxy S contacts with outlook via Samsung`s KIES app.
Everything is imported except categories.
I do have all my contacts sorted in 5 categories and I want them imported.
I tried searching but I could not find anything similar.
Anyone?
bump. x
Cant belive its not possible.
No one managed to import categories from Outlook to KIES?
1) Export .csv from Outlook.
2) Import it to Google Gmail Contacts. You will get "groups" from your Outlook categories.
3) Sync Google Gmail Contacts with Contacts on the device.
Long way but I don't think there are the simpler alternatives.
Hello fellow XDA users!
I'm considering upgrade from GB to ICS. My only concern is related to my contacts. For some reasons I prefer not to store them on google. My question is how to transfer my current contacts from Samsung app to ICS contacts app? Do ICS supports storing contacts in phone or I have to sync them with google? If I export my current contact list to vCard (vcf) can I import it later in ICS? I would like to keep all additional information like emails, photos, companies etc.
You still can keep your contacts local. But the birthdays of your contacts are not shown by calendar apps anymore (except Calengoo) because there seems to be no local calendar DB on the phone. Calengoo has a workaround for this.
ICS supports importing contacts from a vcf file. (not sure how much info vcf stores, since I don't attach photos to my contacts)
I have 450 .vcf files, which i transferred through Bluetooth, from Nokia to Galaxy S Plus (CM9 ROM).
If i select one contact at a time to import, it works.
I i choose import all, it shows a message box saying "caching to local temporary storage, actual transfer will start shortly".
It doesn't do any thing ... even after a long time....
:crying:
On gingerbread, just transferring through Bluetooth would add the .VCF to contact list.
I selected 25 - 30 vcf at a time, then its able to add them to contacts.
I went alphabetically, first imported all A, then B..... till Z.
Was a tedious job.
Actual problem was that Contacts app does not like few VCF files, and stops transfer if one bad VCF gets selected.
I don't see a good future for new Contacts app in ICS.
use your sim card
