Could you stop spamming the whole forum with this stupid question? Wait for a final ICS release, then we ll see, what we can do. Why dont you start learning about kernel compiling and how to add and remove stuff? This is not a site for: I want xyz, can anyone please do it for me...

for your kind information...i am not spamming any thing. this was the 1st question i asked about it...before tat i have not asked about the kernel developer.so ans only for the question, don't want any other stuff

Hi Guys
I already searched through this forum but did not find a thread for this. Is it possible to port the sgs2 stock rom to our O2X? From hardware point of view both are pretty similar (tegra 2... ).
Thanks for your help.

The SGSII isn't a Tegra2 phone. There are plans to release one in some markets, but I don't think they have yet.
I know it is an exynos phone but i read that some people received a model with tegra2

The tegra version should be GT-i9103 but the source has not been released yet.
But you never know, they might never even release that tegra 2 version.

do you want the whole rom?
just the launcher??
there´s a TW4 launcher supposed to work with any phone...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883
try it and tell us!
or else i will when my P990 arrives

I think you meen the rom because all apps there ex. Camera and radio and so on works with 2.3. But what is with the internal. Because the devices are different hardware. The tegra chip is not the whol phone

hi
looks like i wasted my time opening this thread
link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101123
the purpose of the same is to keep the development section clean and also provide a place for those who feel they wont get a reply if they post in the general section
pls understand it also becomes a repository for all the noobs who have all questions they can go to the same thread and look for their answers
i request all the helpful guys here to support me on this and ask members to post their questions in the above link and to keep an eye on the above thread and answer the questions asked
in future im gona just move the questions asked here to general without any waring just move them to general or close the thread
i hope u understand that my idea is to keep the development thread clean and only related to development
i have done the same in the Jade, gene & tattoo forums and with the help of the members questions are only being asked in the above stiky thus keeping the development thread clean
kindly support me on the same
Hi! Today I was browsing MIUI's forum and I found this notice:
http://forums.miuiandroid.com/showthread.php?8833-Notice-MIUI-for-Upcoming-Devices-***3vo-Update***
Does it means they are thinking in porting MIUI to our device? It seems like if we are able to have an stable version of CM7, we could have MIUI in our device.
As I can see, they are giving us the same priority as other HTC devices as HTC Sensation.
Its great, isn't it?
Regards
Lol, as soon as CM7 is out, they most likely will kang it and get MIUI for Black.
While MIUI is a good and optimized ROM, even though visually tiring, they usually only release for a device after the CM port is done.
OMG, another spammer!
There's already FOUR threads about MIUI!
What device do you want to see running MIUI?
Will we get MIUI Rom on Optimus Black?
[Q] Miui
Port of MIUI?
Next time, Sly90, move your lazy a$$ and use SEARCH button.

No need to be rude. This is the first topic where you can read, that MIUI port is actually waiting in a que. It's not one of those silly topics "+1" for MIUI. Please read the notice on miuiandroid.
For me - this post was a great news!
PS: And "thanks" was by a coincidence...

I posted it because its a great news that MIUI community has an eye on our device and it's not like all the childish and stupids "+1" posts I've found here.
And you don't have any right to treat me as you treated, because I was respectful with anybody, so don't be so rude and stop being jerkish.
I posted it in developing section because in the deep end, its a developing news from MIUI. Anyway, thanks to move it to General Section.
knzo, it seems like MIUI sources could be based on Cyanogenmod's ones, so maybe thats the reason they need a full port of CM7 to develop MIUI. After all, having it, they only have to work a litte bit to full port it.
Regards!
Please support here for optimus black!

I hope so... just to make sure...

lucasmalaguti, do you know anything about a possible MIUI port?
If you can send us sources, I'd appreciate it a lot.

In Miui forums, they say which steps have been done and what is not done yet. We can see that they're waiting for CM7.

ok guys this thread says ics 90% complete http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335094
does blagus keep the name for this thread so that users see it ???
i think is just some kind of joke to say that there will be no more fxp rom
and that we stop asking them to support x8 in future
There will be next FXP roms but not everyweek

I´ve also been wondering about this strange title, but the topic seems to be chosen to make us read the thread, and not because there´s a "real" ICS port, just think about how long it took the devs to make 2.3 fully working!
squad your topic got closed and I don't want to spam your inbox. How could you delete your source? It can't be a too big file?

Hello,
I'm new to all these smartphone's tech but since I'm a Linux lover, who knows howto compile kernel with custom confing etc, I'd like to help with porting 4.1 Android to Galaxy Mini 2, but first I'll have to sort some things out....
Anyway, as I have seen so far, squadzone been working for some time with s6500 and he produced custom kernel for 2.3 android, which OC'd CPU from 800mhz to 1,1 Ghz....and I'm thinking, do we really need sources from squadzone? Perhaps we should start from scratch, firstly looking for some NFO at http: // source.android.com/source/building-kernels.html
Second, I'm aware lots of these "modds" are not being released under any kind of opensource. What I mean is, can we trust these modds? Having a botnet with smartphones would be an good idea.... but NVM.
If u guys wanna make some mods/porting/etc please try to make it opensource at the beginning of project. No putting hidden/unknown code.
BTW, what about maclaw? He have been working on galaxy mini afaik, he might have some experience in this field?
Just a thought
Cheers

I ask you to get involved in the DEV thread and help trybicki14 & TheWhisp in making CyanogenMod 10 - Jelly Bean. :good:
tip: We don't need OpenMax driver because we have armv7

Hey.
I was going through the xda-university site, and i think its pretty amazing. However, one question lurks in my mind and its regarding kernel development, as the title states. Is there any universal method to develop a kernel for any phone? to be honest it seems like a dumb question, but how would it be possible for me to learn how to develop a kernel for xperia u as i don't have a htc desire and the guide for kernels on the site deals with basically htc desire.
Also, if this isn't the appropriate place to ask this question, where could i as when i tick "yes, this thread is a question!" it says it isn't.
Thank you.
[Q] would work.
developing from scratch will take you a while, since you dont know how anyway. start by getting kernel source for your device and learn that way.

There are 'usually' two places you can start building your kernel from:
1) OEM (your phone's manufacturer's website), It already has board support and all 'necessary' stuff in it. All you need to do is change what you want and do a simple make build after choosing the config file for your board.
2) Vanilla/Stock linux (kernel.org or android.com), This will be extremely hard and is only for boards that don't have support in linux kernel already. This is what engineers at manufacturers do.
If you don't understand the meaning of any word/term in this post, feel free to google them (helps really) or to reply here.
Is there any place that have patches so we can use to kernel if we can't make our own???like governers I/O etc??

You cant. U just look for a kernel that has the governor added. You will understand that its very easy. Its just a few codes of addition.

Hi sirs, im glad of this concept "XDA University". I have a question, lets say I have SGS2, with modified kernel and I would like to extract modules kernel from it (/lib/modules/usbserial.ko) and apply to stock kernel. Would this be possible? Can somebody point me to a link on how should I start?
Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!

Try pulling the kernel off of your device first.
