Sounds like another case of the dreaded superbrick. You need another motherboard which if you've got warranty is free, if not, big bucks. You can repartition, but you'll lose about 3gb of space and it's likely stock roms will no longer work.

If no download mode, the they will not be able to see if it has counter or not. If it's not booting then they will not be able to see root. They will just swap motherboard and flash a stock firmware and send it back. Hopefully.

Hi,
After searching the forums, I have found no solution to my problem. Let me explain: I wanted my rooter Galaxy note, all went well until the end. He turned back into download mode. The recovery mode does not work and I can not restart normally, I try to re-partition "Q1_20110914_16GB.pit." it took time over 15min so I unplugged and I are extending the phone after that it turns more

Take out the battery for 1 minute.
Put it back in and then try to start the phone in download mode
Even if the screen stays black, it might still be in download mode...
Start pc din, connect the phone and see if the PC odin port goes yellow.
if it does then flash a complete rom with original pitfile nd bootloaders, since you seem to have screwed up your partitions.
can anybody please xplain me....
what are the benefits of rooting my GTN-7000..
waiting for the replies....
thanx in advance.......
You can do all the stuffs which you cant do on unroot.like mods(call recording, power and volume key press click photo) can change user interface.increase speed of your processor.increase your ram.and much more.root means that your phone is in totally in your hand.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
You can remove the unnecessary bloatware by which your ram usage decreases, you can flash custom roms of your choice, particularly in our note we have a bug(emmc), you can get rid of it by flashing custom kernals which are safe, you can overclock or underclock your processor, you can avoid all kinds of adds by installing an app like adfree
I installed beats audio drivers which is possible only because of root
Now i have transparent accuweather widget
U can use custom boot animations.
Hit thanks if i helped

and If you are on the latest ICS, you may flash Philz Kernel direct from stock recovery.
You will get root with SuperSU installed + CWM Recovery v6 direct + don't forget it's a safe kernel to do wipe data (eMMC brick bug removed).
Philz Kernel is a modded stock ROM with those 3 benefits, all credits go to him for his great work.
The easiest way to root your device.
BUT....
Find the suitable firmware you are on now at your device. Don't flash the wrong kernel.
Good Luck again!

What kernel are you on? Did you install philz kernel? If not then first flash a safe kernel like philz or speed mod or hydracore. Then you are good to go.

OP: the reason you are getting so many answers is because no one including you is sure if you have Philz kernel or are you on stock..
to make sure you have philz kernel.. boot into recovery (vol up+power+home).. if you see Philz CWM without having to install anything ..then you have the kernel.. if not flash a safe kernel

The reason here (and in many other threads) in getting so many answers is: some members only repeat what has been said before. It feels like these people want to raise their post counters by force - I assume they need a minimum of posts and thanks for a "recognized" in their profile.

If your device is rooted and CWM is there (it means thet you have CoCore kernel), you can copy that file onto SD card using a computer, and flash it.

first of all this zimage hasn't been test!!!
i made this kernel with little knowledge following couple of tutorials and thanks to OhHeyItsLou !!
remember if you gonna try this kernel remember it has not been tested and til i figure it out it probably wont be tested for knob ppl.
If you are going to try it and or you are a DEV "which i think you might know how to work this out" "flashing" please be free to do.
once again i wont leave instructions on how to flash it because i havent figure out yet how to do it!!
THATS WHY I RATHER SEE A DEV USING THIS OR HELP ME WITH FLASHING THIS ON MY OWN DEVICE
Be free to contact me on any questions
flash it at you own risk ! Which we all know while flashing anything can go wrong!
unzip file and you would get the zImage.

It won't flash in custom recovery because it's missing the "meta-inf" folder with the update-binary, etc. I'll try and write one tonight when I get home from work. Which will be around midnight central time.
I've got a meta-inf folder made and I've 're zipped it. Is this based on aosp or stock. Do I need to flash with my stock Rom or try with cm11
This die? Far as i can tell we need a kernel dev?
