Screen Capture stopped - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else had this issue with Screen Capture: after saving or discarding the screen shot, the app crashes and after a few seconds the message comes up that Screen Capture has stopped...
BTW, I'm on KingDroid v. 8.

Anyone?

Reflash
Try re-flashing the ROM. Do a full wipe.

I was looking for something less drastic to start of with... like some folder/file permissions. But thanks.

I've taken a screen shot but not sure how?

Yesterday a screen capture image appeared in my gallery. I have noticed a screen capture apk in the system folder but have no idea how to take a screen shot other than the one I took by accident yesterday whilst texting. I'd rather not install a third party programme if the phone will already do this for me. I'm on froyo.
Could anybody enlighten me.
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken the key combo is:
Hold BACK soft button + Press HOME.
Ah! Thats great. Thanks very much.

Screen calibration

So my screen has always been a little wonky. I've never been able to hit that market search button on the first try.
I came across this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934500
which has an app for calibrating the screen. It definitely runs and calibrates ok. My initial 5 minute impression is that the calibration is better! Just thought I'd share!
Thanks for sharing. I've found that my top right corner is the least sensitive area of my touch screen, with the right and left edges coming in a close second. I've tried recalibrating the old fashioned way with adb, but I still don't get the best results. I'll give this a try when I get home.
I used the htc calibration tool and it seemed to do the trick. It was included with project elite when I flashed my droid over to it.

How do you install this app?

You simply downoad the apk file and tap on it to run it. When it is finished, it does not say so, but just use the back key to exit the app and you're finished ....... and calibrated.
By the way, works great on NookieFroyo for me.

Download the APK from my webserver:

Use ADB and type the following commands:
adb install [PATH TO THE APK]
EXAMPLE IN WINDOWS:
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb install C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools\HtcCalibrate.apk
3443 KB/s (102274 bytes in 0.029s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/HtcCalibrate.apk

seems to have helped a bit.... thanks for the find
You don't need to download it to a computer and use adb, you can install the apk directly.

The one I uploaded is not in the app store.
Seems to work here too. I am a little hesitant because it requires so little on the users part (don't have to touch anything??). Anyone have an idea how this app might be working?

The one I posted you touch the screen on random dots that the program places. If you are skeptical about the one posted feel free to try mine.

Bug on taking note while screen off?

I cant seem to use the erase tool, delete, or save when I take note during screen off. Does anyone have that problem?

Works fine for me - and by the way, I love this feature - being able to take notes on the screen without unlocking first - just awesome.
I found out that one of the setting in ceberus app that cause me not able to use the toolbar.

YES! Glad I found this thread as it was driving me nuts. Turning "Block Status Bar" in Ceberus did the trick.

delayed home screen

When i boot my phone and swipe up to go to the home screen after entering the pin number to unlock the sim card it takes 10-15 seconds before i even see anything on the homescreen. At the moment running stock android, rooted with supersu 2.82.
After the home screen is visible all works fine, no delays when going back to it.
It also happens with other roms, so not a stock only problem. It started about a 2-3 weeks ago. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
Disable lock to see if that changes it.
Settings, Storage, Cache, clear cache.

Disabled lock but result the same. Clearing cache does not help either.
Strange is that it does not happen every time i reboot the phone and when it happens the time it takes to show the home screen is sometimes longer or shorter.

Are you using nova beta? If so, go to the Nova beta G+ community to see if there's a similar problem or post a bug report. If not, in the "about community" section of that link, there a link to sign up for beta through Google play.

At the moment both stock and nova launcher home screens start almost straight after i swiped up after entering the pin code.
But both occasionally have showed delays of up to 10-15 seconds. I have no clue why this is happening and what the reason is.

Since this is happening on stock as well, I'd guess there is background activity "bogging" the CPU down. Maybe due to apps dozing then all clamoring for updates as the device wakes.
Grabbing a logcat through adb might give some insight. If you can get one when having the problem then contrast against one when the display responds promptly.

Thanks for the logcat reminder. Should have thought of that myself. Now all is working without any delay. But will pull a logcat when it happens again and try to find the cause of the problem.

Just a reminder, you'll have to pull a logcat every time you unlock until you catch the problem. It's to late after the problem occurs ?

Anyone able to figure this out? I have a Mate RS that I could turn off this easily, but seems I cannot find the setting in on my P30 Pro.
Here you can see how to do this.

Seriously. I mean i read, that they removed settings in emui 9.1, but why on earth would you remove features, from a perfectly running system. I mean first they break split screen app switching on android 7 and never come jund to fixing it and now forced app suggestions. If anybody finds out how to get rid of them help would be greatly appreciated.
