So, I already ordered my Nook HD+ and now I'm searching for a good and sturdy case. My two first choices are these;
1. Ionic Rotating Stand Leather Case
2. Poetic Slimbook Leather Case for Nook HD+
Haven't ordered one yet, but I'm trying to make up my mind. What do you suggest?
I'm looking for somebody to do a reseach on this for me as well, in fact even better a stylis keyboard case which have pocket for stylue(included). And one more thing, the screen protector. I can see my fingerprints are all over the place here.

Use a Zagg Invisible Shield -no smudges, fingerprints or glare. This screen protector is military grade with a lifetime guarantee. No more oily fingerprints. Pricey but worth it. The one on my NC is over a year old yet looks new. The clear plastic on the 10 inch shows finger prints and scratches. You get what you pay for.
I use a book/folio Javo Edge cover on the NC for portability and use a BT keyboard case/stand on the 10 inch tablet.
In my past experiences, I had 2 Zagg Invisible Shield products before. One is an extremely old for my old Fujitsu Lifebook T4215 and the other was for one of my old tablet. I have to say they were OK, but kinda hard to install. Their product is an amazing quality IF they got install correctly and perfectly. After that I have tried SPIGEN products, and I have to say they are a lot easier to install and give a very good look. The install doesn't look perfect, as they leave a little room and make the screen protector a little smaller. But the end result is that it's a lot easier to install and it's just as good. So, I would definitely pick SPIGEN over Zagg. But I don't think they have one for Nook yet. I haven't even try looking for it.
All of the cases I've seen so far have been pretty ugly, but the Ionic at least has the advantage of being cheap. I picked up the B&N 360 case/stand from Target for $40 because I needed something if I was going to get any use out of my HD+ and it doesn't look like any 3rd party covers will hit until after the New Year. Perils of early adoption, I suppose.
I felt kind of ripped off when I first got the 360 out of the box, but it's growing on me. Functionally it's great--sturdy build quality to protect the tablet and a good mechanism for the stand. The cons: weird flak-jacket material on outside, no magnetic clasp or any kind of closure (though it stays closed pretty well once it's broken in), and no access to the SD slot.
I also had a Javoedge cover for my Nook Color which looked great and worked well as a stand, along with softening the hard edges of the device and providing full protection. Even if they put out some nice HD+ covers, though, I'll probably stick with the one I have. It occurs to me that B&N was probably going for the look of a hardcover with the outer material on the 360, but hardcovers usually have a dust jacket--maybe I'll throw a dust jacket or old school brown-bag textbook cover over my case!

I tried a few jackets and pretty much gave up on the idea, actually made a brown bag cover but found it too scratchy to be comfortable (maybe I just need more calluses...) and was in the process of posting that the idea was a wash (though with potential, if you want to use better paper) when my eye happened on the copy of Hero sitting next to my desk. It's a perfect fit in more ways than one, considering the thousands of stories I'm carrying around on the device :good:

Very nice!
no one's made a case i like yet. they all add too much bulk to the tablet. i always get the portfolio style that doesn't have a pocket for holding tablets and uses tabs instead. so mine is butt nekkid for now.
well heck they do have on i'd like:

it's even got the the little hand slip thing to keep a grip on it. gotta wait til after christmas since it's not shippping til then.
I came across these :

I've ordered the eBay one with some screen protectors so should be here within a couple of weeks
The Poetic cases actually don't look half bad. I like this one, going for a slim Moleskine look. I just needed some kind of case here and now if I was going to get any use out of the tablet.
Pls. confirm how's this one, when you receive it

What's the view on the $40 case that B&N sell? Any good? (Other than the high price)?
If you make any use of the SD slot (I'm currently alternating between a 16GB CM10 card and the 64GB card I use w/ stock), DO NOT get the B&N 360 case. The card slot is inaccessible and the device is a pain to get out of the case. The swiveling hardshell mount on mine cracked the other night while I was pulling the HD+ out of the case. It's still usable, but I should think taking the device out of the case would constitute normal use and shouldn't result in damage. Better yet, just practice case design 101 and give me access to all buttons and ports in the first place.
It's a shame because the slot design on the HD+ is actually quite good--one of the best I've seen for having the card secure but also easy to access.

Hi, just want to say that I used a Target coupon (read about it on another thread, still available from target until Dec 29th) offering 50% off HD and HD+ accessories and bought the black 360 cover for $23+ (tax included), added small patch of velcro to keep it closed and added a small magnet on the countercover aiming at the upper left corner of the bezel of the tablet, which triggers the auto-sleep feature. I like the final product for the price.
I forgot to mention that I filed the opening obstructing access to the micro sd card and now I have access to it without having to unmount the tablet. Not much work at all.
love that auto sleep! I'm looking for a case for one for my 8 year old son. Yeah, I'm thinking kevlar reinforced steel... Anyway, Ottercase makes good ones from nook color, et. al. but nothing for the HD yet. Does anyone know if HD will fit in Color case?
i never swap out my SD card so love my Nook 360 case.

Just an update on this one which arrived today. Pretty happy with it. It fits perfectly and allows access to all the buttons, headphone, and power slot but you do have to take it out the case for the SD slot. It adds a bit of bulk overall but does the job.

Zagg doesn't show a screen protector for the nook hd+ yet. We have these on several of our phones /tablets and like them quite a bit. I have a Caseen Glareshatter screen protector on my nook HD+ for now and I like it just fine. It's a dry mount so make sure you put it on in a dust free area.
I am extremely happy with the rooCASE Slim-Fit (Black) Folio Case Cover for Barnes Noble Nook HD 9 Plus Tablet (Support Auto Sleep / Wake Feature)
I have one for the Nexus 7 and love it for that device too. Below is a link and its cheap price but WELL MADE!

I ordered the Poetic one from Amazon yesterday. It came today. It's well built. I like it. Only problem, the little pockets that look like SD pockets are a little small for a full size sd card, yet have holes underneath so microsd cards would fall out. I only tried the full size sd card because I thought maybe they expected you to put the microsd in the adapter so it's easier to grab.

I recently purchased a Poetic Slimbook case for my Nexus 7. I got it for $7 from Amazon. It's up to $10 now.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008IEGSGU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
I don't have my camera so I can't take pictures, but the pictures on Amazon do an excellent job of showing it off. The construction seems quite good. There's no cuts or anything in the leather and the stitching is neat. As you can imagine, it adds a bit of weight and some girth to the tablet. I consider that a good thing, because my Nexus 7 seems very well protected. It seems like it could survive a big fall, but I don't intend to test it.
The device goes in easily. You wouldn't think that a leather flap could keep it in, but it's not going anyplace. Nevertheless, it is easy to remove the device from the case if you want to. The lid is held shut by magnets on the top and bottom right. The "smart" cover also turns the device on and off as expected.
I think there's going to be a break-in period before I feel comfortable using it as a stand in the nearly upright position. It's pretty stiff and quite wobbly. It seems to work fine in the lower position (see the Amazon pictures for details/explanation). Since I didn't really intend to use it as a stand much, it's not a big deal for me.
All of the ports and buttons are easily accessible, although it is now a smidge more difficult to press the buttons. The speaker in the back is completely exposed. It does cover the bezel, but the good news is that the cover does not come right up to the edge of the screen itself. There is a little bit of bezel visible. That means that typing, etc., is not impeded in anyway. I like the bezel being covered because I know that there's no way my Nexus 7 would slip out.
On the inside of the cover there are little pockets to put things like business cards, tickets to sporting events, etc. There's a larger pocket behind those where you could put a check, cash, or something like that. There's also an elastic band that you can use to hold it without fear of dropping it. It works well enough, but the case itself isn't slippery, so I'm not sure how much I'd use it. It's nice to have in case I need it.
Overall I'm very pleased with the purchase. I was expecting much less for $7 with free shipping. I thought this might be a stop-gap case until something nicer comes out. As it is, I don't think I'll be in the market for anything else. Now I can stop being paranoid about my kids dropping something on the screen.
Hopefully you don't mind if I also post a review in your thread...
OK, I had originally thought I could go without a cover on the Nexus 7, until I found the Poetic Slimbook cover on Amazon for under $7 shipped. The case has not disappointed at all, but how can you for disappoint for $6.95? The smart cover capabilities work great and are a nice feature (see attached video for a short demonstration). The cover is held in place with magnets that fit firmly, but not too firm, you can hear the magnets snap in the video too. As revmra mentioned, the case adds some weight and girth to the tablet, but compared to previous tablet cases, one being an otterbox, it is really minimally invasive. The leather and stitching seem high quality, as well as the hand strap. All ports, buttons, speaker and camera are open and accessible. The volume rocker and power button are a little tougher to access since the side of the nexus has a curve to it, but with smart cover tech, I can't see myself using them that terrible much. The hand strap works well and the "kickstand" abilities of this case work better than my other leather case that I had for the Kindle Fire. I will echo the sentiment that the case appears to be able to withstand a fall and give protection to the N7. The edges have leather protruding outward, which should cushion the fall if it lands on a side or corner, and the case has a little padding if it falls flat on the front or back.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008IEGSGU/ref=ox_ya_os_product
All in all, it is a great value for $6.95 and probably still worth it for $12.95 which it has shot up to now. It will be good for me until something cool comes out, like a case with a backup battery, microSD slot and USB port or something like that...

Are any of you finding the case to be a bit "stiff" when it's brand new?
I just got my case today, and I am finding 2 issues:
(1) the front cover does not sit flat when closed. Specifically, where there is a fold in the leather, it pops out ever so slightly.
(2) the stand function seems a bit flimsy to me. When I put it in on its stand (where the tab is at its most vertical position), I find that the tab isn't holding the flap very well, such that the tablet has a tendency to fall down on the screen.
Does it put tablet to sleep when the cover folded back?

It's a little stiff, yes. The "fold" in the cover is so you can use it as a stand, so it won't lie completely flat. Not a huge deal and probably will get better with use. The tab on the back is VERY stiff on mine (which is probably good), but I think it will work better as a stand over time as well.

Did you read my review? There are magnets that hold the cover closed and a magnet to active the sleep/wake feature, all of which work very nicely.
thanks for the review but i cannot understand how anyone can use a case that covers up the bezel.
not only does it look ugly (IMO), it hinders functionality. it makes it so much more difficult to swipe in from the side.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or beer-holder, as the case may be). That's why I made the specific point about the fact that the bezel is not 100% covered. Every part of the screen is available, plus a small amount of space on the side. I have not found functionality to be limited in any way, even though I was kind of expecting it. With the bezel mostly covered you know the device is not going anywhere.
I do know what you mean, though. I've got a case for my HTC Desire where the bezel is covered. I often found myself taking it out to use it because the case interfered. Having said that, that case saved my bacon more than once when I dropped my phone. Of course, the Nexus has a far more substantial bezel. While I heard some people complaining about that, here is one situation where it is a definite benefit.
I looked at some of the cases that just hold on at the corners. I think I'd be too paranoid to have one like that. To each, their own.

Agreed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I had an HTC Flyer w/ the Bluerex case. My brother also purchased this Nexus 7 and got the Poetic case that sort of reminds me of the Bluerex, where the tab is held by 6 tabs, but leaves the bezel completely accessible. I'd agree that the case my brother got is a bit more attractive, but I felt like the Slimbook offered a tad bit more protection since it covers the bezel. The design of the slimbook is adequate, in my eyes, plus at $7, I'm not complaining.
It's all a matter of opinion.
I got one similar to this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008IEGS9W/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 sorta looks the same. Everything the first two poster said is true. My n7 fits perfectly , the fit feel and overall structure of the case is by far more then what I expected for the price. Giving that it also has puts the n7 to sleep when close is just lovely. I have yet to test it out in stand-up mode seems a bit trouble some to do. Bit if that works well it will be great for gaming since it only stands up in landscape mode. Other then that for the price its a great case.. also fast shipping I ordered it this pass sunday and got it yesterday or today (did t check the mail) its winner in my books.
Also it was $9.95 at the time of purchase
I just got a Poetic Slimbook from Amazon. I paid a bit more than some of you guys, but it works a treat. No issues whatsoever with the magnet. It locks the screen when closing the front cover, and it's not so strong that it causes the Nexus 7 to lock when it's folded back.
I'm already making use of the stylus loop. The only thing I think could be better is the angle when it's set up as a stand. It's too high, Otherwise, I couldn't really ask for a better case. The holes are in the right places, it's got card pockets, and it has a stylus loop.
It would be nice if the card pockets featured an integrated bag of holding, but I suppose it's a bit much to ask for magic at that price.
I have it, and I'm really pleased.
Does anybody know how the auto screen lock actually works? It really intrigues me!

I'm not sure what the proper terminology is for identifying these cases, but I'm comparing the thicker leather cases that wrap around the tablet versus the ones with 6 prongs that kind of latch onto the tablets edges to hold it in place.

vs this style:
I have one of each right now. I have the i-Blason case that wraps around the entire tablet's front side, and I also have the Blurex case which has the 6 prongs to hold onto the tablet. I'm a little indifferent on which one to use full time, as silly as that sounds. I figured I'd ask here to get your opinions and see what you guys think.
I personally love both cases for opposing reasons. The Blurex case has a latch on it, which on one hand I like because I feel if I would drop the tablet, there's no chance of the front flap coming open during the tumble. On the other hand, I use my tablet SO frequently at work, I'm continually opening and closing it, which makes me wonder if I'll see any wear signs from the clip on the side continually sliding against the tablet to form the lock. On the one hand, it's slim enough I can fit into my back pocket even with the case, but this isn't something I like to do since I fear that I may forget about it and inadvertently sit on it.
As far as the i-Blason case goes (I have this one here), I like it just as much, but there again for different reasons. I personally couldn't stand the vertical/horizontal features of it, because the entire thing is held on by velcro. Really? Velcro? I ended dumping some epoxy into it which permanently joined the two parts. As a result, it's a horizontal only type of case, which I prefer anyway. I'm not overly fond of the leather that wraps around the front of the actual tablet, however it's cut neatly enough that nothing is overtop of the actual display. Likewise, the front flap does not have a clip on it. Instead, the magnets used to wake up/sleep the device are actually quite strong and hold the front flap in place securely (unlike Blurex's equivalent case located here which has the absolute weakest magnets I've ever seen). This case does not fit into my pocket like the other one and is indeed a bit thicker. That said, considering how much I use it at work, sometimes it makes me feel more secure with it.
Pros and cons in each scenario. That said, I'm curious what you guys prefer. Any takers?
I absolutely hate cases that cover the bezel. I do like those blurex style cases as I've used them before on a few different tablets. However, they are pretty thick (seems to double the thickness of a nexus), and the clasp sticks out when you fold it back.
I think I'm with a number of other users here when I say that I have not found a case that I want for my Nexus. The poetic portfolio case that is being discussed in another thread is close to what I want, but I think lacking in the quality that I'm looking for. I'm really surprised we haven't seen more high end cases like this yet.
I like the case I have a lot. Its a similar case to the one you like.
Here's my review.

That is my same fear that if I buy a prong type that it will leave a scuff mark or such on the tablet

Appreciate the suggestion, but I'm not seeing any black ones like that from this seller on Ebay.
I'd *really* like to opt for Amazon because I'm taking a trip soon where I'm leaving Tuesday night. At least with Amazon I have greater control over shipping speed, whereas Ebay listings are often base line ground shipping.
EDIT - This one sure caught my eye...

I really wish I could find this exact case... but without the 360 degree rotating thing... Then again maybe the 360 degree thing wouldn't be that bad?
Love the smart cover. The face of the tablet is mostly uncovered and it's held in with a plastic mold. Of course, the sleep/wake feature is awesome as well. I don't think I'll ever use another case. The leather folio I used before was junk; it says it was for Nexus 7 but it was too big and the tablet shifted around all the time.

I'd love to get one and have it for when I leave on Tuesday. I'd prefer to get it on Amazon where I know I'll get fast shipping if I pay the extra. Some items I've bought on Ebay from China (like this case I'm seeing) took up to a month. Yeah.

Yeah, I got it on eBay for just under 8 dollars. It shipped from California in about a week's time. I haven't checked Amazon, so I couldn't say for sure if they have them too...
And yes, buying from China is not fun
Neither, sorry. They're bulky and gross looking. I think the dodo case and portenzo cases can't be beat, style wise.

I also have both style cases and I prefer the blurex-style one because it doesn't prevent me from using Chrome's tab switching gesture.

Unless there's a better + quicker option on the table, I might go after this case here:
http://www.amazon.com/Worldshopping...sories/dp/B008RVE54G/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I'm not sure how much I'd use the vertical aspect of the case, but it seems like the platform would be wide enough to keep it stable. We'll have to see, though.
EDIT - Figured, why not. Ordered this case above. Guaranteed shipping by Monday. I'll report back when I get it.
I purchased the MoKo(TM) 360 Degrees Rotating Case , and it has been perfect for me. The fact that it clips on all sides both when open and close makes it feel alot more secure than other flip-cover cases; and you cant argue with the rotation capability. Also, it makes the tablet feel much more substantial without making it feel bulky or heavy which I am definitely a fan of. My friend bought the Blurex Ultra-Slim Case for Google Nexus 7, but not only is half of the tablet free when it is open, but it also has fewer prop-angles and the padding does not feel as robust.
I have the blaston one and it's a really nice case but I still don't like have the bezel covered and I don't like the back flap. I want a different one. Who wants to trade!

The one I just nabbed looks very similar, with the most notable difference being no bezel coverage. If you like your case I'm sure I'll have a similar opinion of mine.
The only thing I was semi concerned about was how flat it would lay when closed up. But then I began to wonder, why does it matter? If it's closed, it's not in use.
I am trying to decide between the:
Roo Case http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008F05Q2E/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A2IHZFOHOQ0WG8
or
Poetic Slimbook (with handstrap) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008IEGSGU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A29LLD0WGS56WE
What you guys think?
Guys, don't repeat my mistake. DO NOT order that "Worldshoppingwhatever" case that I linked above, found here:
http://www.amazon.com/Worldshopping...sories/dp/B008RVE54G/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I wrote a review about it. I'll paste that review contents here even though it's available on Amazon.
I'm going to try really hard to pull what positives I can out of this review, but beware, there's hardly anything positive to say about it.
First, let's start with the overall feel of the product. The exterior feel of it is quite nice. Nothing to be overly excited about, but it feels decent, moderately durable, jet black color while presenting very little shine. It has a leather-like surface to it, which is quite nice. If you open it up you're presented with a plastic mold that your Nexus 7 attaches to. My Nexus 7 attached to it perfectly and was flush at all corners. I thought it'd be cool to have the swivel 360 feature as this case has, but I didn't expect it to be this terrible. The plastic mold spins freely. Literally. In fact it has extra wobble in it as you spin it, allowing you to spin the mold like a kid's pinwheel. This makes it undeniably frustrating to use when you have the front folded back and you're trying to hold the device in one hand while use the touch screen with your other, as the tablet will continuously shimmy left and right. If you're going to have a swivel function, at least make it so it provides some degree of resistance so it's not THIS movable.
At this point I realized that the "fold" (aka hinge) of this case seemed extremely flimsy. It has absolutely no strength whatsoever, which is weird because the front has some degree of a more durable "cardboard-like" backing to it, but the hinge itself is just completely loose. It feels as pliable as a microfiber cloth - I'm not kidding. This, of course, presented me with some concern about how well it would hold up my tablet when propped up. I'm here to tell you... it sucks. I'm not exaggerating. It won't even prop up my tablet in the majority of scenarios I tried. There's two notches in the front flap of the case which allows the bottom to be cradled and therefore prop it upright. I'll identify them by calling them notch A (closest to the hinge) and notch B (closest to the edge).
Notch A - Horizontal - Tablet stands upright. Hooray!
Notch A - Veritcal - Falls without hesitation. Fail.
Notch B - Horizontal - Falls without hesitation. Fail.
Notch B - Veritcal - Falls without hesitation. Fail.
I can only attribute this to the unbelievably soft/weak material. It just flat out doesn't work. The lack of strength leaves something to be desired. I admittedly got a little excited when I first opened the item because the exterior finish isn't really bad. In fact it's quite decent for a low end product. That alone is the only semi positive thing I was able to draw out of this product. I'm exceptionally disappointed and find the product a complete joke. I would expect (and have first hand seen) better quality tablet cases out of Five Below and other various "everything's 5 bucks" general stores. 15 bucks online? Including another 7-15 to ship this piece of garbage? Are you absolutely insane?
I have to admit, just prior to purchasing this tablet I couldn't help but to think that "Joanna" and "Ashley" (the only other two posted reviews of this product at the time of my purchase) were fake reviews, considering they both haven't posted a review before and both uploaded their review on the exact same date. Seems all too perfect, eh? Well, evidently it was. I'd like to highlight a few key points as these undoubtedly fake reviewers point out:
Joanna claims that: When open, the stand capabilities fully support the weight of the N7 and it is at a pretty good angle for viewing.
No. It doesn't. I can't even begin to express how much this statement enrages me because it is absolutely false. This thing can hardly withstand the weight of my cell phone, let alone my tablet.
Meanwhile, Ashley claims that: I am very accustomed to recognizing build quality, and I have a high level of technology expertise. I have already recommended this case to numerous people, including coworkers that have also purchased a new google nexus 7.
WHAT! You're accustomed to recognizing build quality and think that this thing in any way shape or form demonstrates even the most minuscule degree of build quality?
Look elsewhere. Please. I beg you. I cannot stress this enough. Buy anything else. Really. Anything. i-Blason, Blurex, Moko, rooCase, I've used countless cases - close your eyes, take your pick, you'll be happier off with anything else.
Using a case so terrible like this just makes me realize how completely flipping awesome my Blurex slim fit case is.
I just got the Asus travel cover and I must say I like it. Fits really well. The texture is nice. I know with use it can only get better. I ordered the poetic slim book. Just waiting for it to arrive. But until then this will do.

I have the Blurex Slim case and I like it. It's not that bulky.
First off, let me describe what I look for in a case/ sleeve.
First and foremost, I want a premium look and feel, preferably leather, but other materials will do. I paid a large sum of money for this gorgeous tablet, and I would like to put it in a gorgeous case. In my opinion, getting a slim tablet and putting it in a tank like case defeats the purpose of the tablet being thin in the first place.
Typically the premium factor is limited to sleeves. I have not found any high end leather CASES, they're all either pleather, or low quality leather, and look poor on the tablet. Also most leather cases that double as stands look weird, or have too much excess material to secure the tablet to the 'board' of sorts on the back of the case.
Shown here:
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-Leather-Function-Warranty/dp/B00A6X4048/ref=pd_sim_pc_2
As far as cases go, cases that have a cover, but then fold back to form a weird angled stand like so: http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Google-Elastic-Included-Warranty/dp/B009RZPH1G/ref=pd_sim_pc_10
are just weird in my opinion, they look odd, and I don't want that much snapping on and off the corners of the tablet, it'll create ware.
However Sleeves often do not have a clasp, or a securing mechanism, but as far as I can tell, friction will do it's job of keeping the tablet in the case, especially due to the Nexus 10's grippy back.
So far I have found two cases that employ both form, function, and a premium feel.
A sleeve: http://www.dodocase.com/products/durables-sleeve-for-nexus-10
(Although it is neither made of leather, nor does it have a clasp)
and a Case: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-Leather-Function-Warranty/dp/B00A6X4048/ref=pd_sim_pc_2
(Also not leather, but the leather texture will do if realistic enough. At least I don't think it's leather)
I do have one question about the poetic slimbook case I just linked to, would the cover of that stay attached and covered if held upside down via a magnet of sorts, or is it rather flimsy, and just flops around, as a slave to gravity?
To close, I would like to ask a few questions.
Does anyone else have a want for a premium case or sleeve, or am I the only one?
Has anyone found cases or sleeves that are similar to the ones mentioned above (the last two, not the first two)?
Any word on that smart cover that the nexus 10 was unveild with, shown in the video from The Verge Hands on and such.
Also I'd like to mention that I'm really interested in buying a product from http://www.vajacases.com/ however they conveniently do not have a nexus 10 case.
You hit the nail on the head. My thoughts on cases are basically yours. And the Vajacases are really awesome but in my opinion too much premium and therefore too expensive. I think i'll wait for the verge-video-case which hopefully seamlessly attaches to the N10. It can't be too expensive as well. I'm curious when we'll get more information on the same.

SF bags offer some good looking high quality sleeves.
http://www.sfbags.com/products/nexus-cases/nexus-slipcase.php. In this slipcase video, it shows kindle fire slipcase and it shows that even when turned upside down, the kindle won't come out.
they have plenty other choices but it's pre-order for now and start to ship at 11 december. The prices are kinda steep but since you don't care much about price, might as well try it out. Personally, i love the citysleek design.

I've looked through and seen all of the SF bags for the Nexus 10 a while ago, the suede jacket (http://www.sfbags.com/products/nexus-cases/nexus-suedejacket.php) seems to be to my liking. I personally would want something with a little more protection (I don't know how, but I feel like leather would protect it more than suede, despite them being virtually the same material).
The city slicker one is cool, and so is the out back one, but as far as the city slicker and other multipurpose/ travel/ compartmentalized cases go, I already have a North Face Surge bag, so I don't need any more space. I'm looking for a case or sleeve that would protect my tablet INSIDE of my other back, as well as protect it from day to day carrying outside of my backpack, such as if I'm driving to a friend's house, I'd want to case it and throw it on my passenger seat.
I know the previous sentance is a run on, but it's 4:30 am where I am, and I don't care about run on-s and grammar at the moment.

The Nexus 7 case was well reviewed. I'd like a quality case too, but $100+ makes me think twice considering the life of gadgets.
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like it's pre order now and becoming available at the end of the month.
Here is the sfbags.com sleeve with optional pocket for the Nexus 10. Ordered it Friday morning and paid for the FedEx ground delivery and was upgraded to the priority delivery for free and received it Monday morning. This thing is nicely made and it was exactly what I was looking for, tablet goes in snug and has 3 anchors to help to you insert it and remove it from the sleeve. The mesh pocket is a extra feature and I use it to carry my freedompop hotspot and a stylus pen. I am hoping that when the oem cover is release, it will fit without a problem but its a very snug fit.
Only thing I would change would be added a cord at the end to fully enclose the device inside. I paid $32 shipped to me.

I've actually been looking at this case since it appears that the nexus 10 is pretty similar in size to the note 10.1, and this case seems to offer good protection.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nimbus-10-U...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1355416000&sr=1-1
Anyone know anything about it or have any opinions?
EDIT: On closer inspection it seems the nexus 10 is too wide. Odd, I thought there was a different version of the case for bigger tablets but I can't seem to find it.
I just received an Ultimate Sleeve case from SFBags for my Nexus 10. This is one nice sleeve. It's very sturdy, well-made, and fits the Nexus 10 perfectly. I bought it to protect the tablet while traveling and I think this sleeve will do a far better job than the Case Logic case I bought and returned. I don't care to test it, but the SFBags sleeve has thick padding and the plastic insert sewn into one side should prevent damage for anything short of a drop-kick. I definitely feel a lot better about throwing my Nexus 10 into a backpack or suitcase. It's not cheap but it's worth it if you're looking for quality protection.
SF Bags Slip Case
Received mine yesterday. It is $36 (shipping included) well spent. It fits tight and looks good.
I got the CitySlicker from SF Bags. It's really a quality sleeve/bag. :good: I imagine it will be too big for some, but it's great having space for headphones and a cleaning cloth with the tablet at all times. Also looks and feels high end.
For the price, I sure hope it fits whatever I end up replacing the Nexus 10 with down the road!
I second SF bags. I have their slip case and couldn't be happier.

Hey Z3TC owners! I recently picked up the Official Sony case for my Z3TC on amazon so I thought I'd do a detailed review due to the lack of them on the web. This is more of a first impressions. Type review.
Originally I purchased I purchased the IVSO case (click for link) from amazon but the Black color was not eligible for Amazon prime and Its been like 2 weeks and I still have not received the case! Hopefully it will arrive over the next couple days. I will post a review for that case when it does come. Of course 3 days later that case was eligible from Prime and they had stock in US warehouses
Yesterday while updating my amazon wish list for the holidays i noticed the SCR28 was available on prime from This vendor with free overnight shipping!! I snagged it quickly as there were only 6 available. *edit* this item is no longer available on prime
Here are my initial thoughts on this case:
1. The case has a Very slim profile. It is a Leathery yet soft-to-touch material. It is a much higher quality than the universal 8" flip cases available at best buy and local stores. The tablet is held in place by a plastic frame which fits the tablet very snug and has cut outs for all ports and buttons. In fact, the Frame was so snug it was kinda hard to snap the tablet back out. I also use a tempered glass (0.3mm) screen protector and it works fine with it.
2. The Inside of the flap is made out of a Textured Rubberized material(images D1). There is a small grove in the front flap that is the size of the tablet. When you put the tablet into the Standing position into that groove the tablet stands at 120. (See image B1 & B2) This case is also compatible with Sony magnetic chargers/docks (image C1)
There are 2 reasons why this textured material is nice
-It makes it so that you can position your tablet at other angles and it still maintains a good enough grip for your tablet not to slide around.
-When you fold the flap back it offers extra grip on your tablet so that your not holding on to the smooth leather part or slippery metal part of your tablet.]
This is one of my favorite features.
Unfortunately when folded all the way back it does cover the camera cutout. However the case folds all the way around where you don't necessarily have to leave the flap hanging down. (See image A1 & A2)
3. Theres no strap or magnet to keep the cover down but when i set it on a table it pretty much stays closed all the way and doesn't open on its on. Also the smart open/close feature is a welcomed addition to the case.
Summary
Overall The build quality is very nice and compliments the design language of this device very well. (some people may argue that at $40 USD it should be much nicer, but from whats available I think its very well built) We will see how this holds up to the generic one I Will be recieving. It is a very functional case that adds little bulk to it. However, if you are looking for something more "protective" this is probably not the case for you.

When its propped up @ 120 degree angle, where the cutout for it is. Its sturdy enough to not have to much movement when used on a flat surface. Much better than the cases where the front flap folds into 3 to prop it up.
I really like the case as well. I am a little worried about the white case... Seems like it will get dirty real quickly but that's the case for all white cases.
You can also charge on the dock with this case on.

Its a leathery material (not 100% sure if its genuine leathee or pleather) it feels *kinda* similar to the back of the z2 tab but this blackone doesnt seem to attract finger prints. Ive never been a fan of white cases cuz they age faster and turn gray! If u end up going with it please share pics!
Got mine today great case super quality and don't add no bulk to tablet thanks.

Sony Scr-28 Cover and Stand for XperiaTM Z3 Tablet Compact Scr-28 White
Edit: Now it is fulfilled by Amazon...bonus!
Looks like it's prime eligible too!
As far as I see from your photos, SCR28 doesn't have cut outs for magnetic charger.
So magnetic chargher can be used only with the cover open ?
I wonder if anybody had the chance to compare Sony SCR28 with MoKo Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Case - Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart (also find on Amazon)
I think these two cases are the best option for our tablet but I'm not sure if the build quality of the MoKo cover is the same as the Sony SCR28.

Correct, I dont have the dock myself but the back cover needs to be folder back or put over the dock. However I've seen the MoKo case for an iPad and the build quality to me is not as "premium" feeling. But in terms of durability I'd say on par with eachother.

One is for back up. Im currently using the VSTN one. Its very thin and comparable to the Nillkin tempered glass I have on my z2 Phone. Basically edge to edge. Are you using the controller mount with the case?
I got this case for free when I bought my XZ3TC and I'm very happy with it. Soft touch, nice grip. Premium feeling.
The only disavantage I found it's that you have to open it in order to use the magnetic charger as I never open the flaps.
I got the 32 GB black model and decided to try the white case. After three weeks the case is as clean as the first day.

I copied the description from Amazon into the title of this thread and I intentionally left out 'slim fit' because this case is not that. I just bought the case at the following link and I've had it on my phone for all of a few hours. It looks great and I've always liked Spigen. But I noticed that it was pushing up the top corner of my tempered glass screen protector so I wanted to remove it to make sure the protector was not going to crack or come off.
Spigen Neo Hybrid Gunmetal Bumper Style Premium Case - Amazon
That's when the fun started. Removing this case is insanely difficult. While doing so it actually popped off the back cover which stayed in the case. I thought I broke my phone with the force I had to apply. This case also adds significant weight to the phone. I'm sure it is great at protecting it but I also need to be able to remove it every once in awhile.
I am in need of a slim lightweight case that doesn't make me feel I will break my phone by removing it. I will continue to check out other reviews on XDA but I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of the case they are using. Also, it would be awesome if the case that is suggested works well with Qi wireless charging. I haven't invested in that yet but I would like to. Thanks all!

I will continue to check out other reviews on XDA but I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of the case they are using. Also, it would be awesome if the case that is suggested works well with Qi wireless charging. I haven't invested in that yet but I would like to. Thanks all!

IMHO None of the Spigen cases I got for my Nexus 6 were "slim".
I've got a OtterBox symmetry case that is really lightweight, but it's not "slim".
For "slim" I just went and got several of the ones on eBay described as "ultra thin" TPU. They don't offer much as in drop protection, it's more for grip, bump and scratch protection.
These are the ones I like the most so far http://www.ebay.com/itm/391137523772 ( I always get one of these and are my favorite on every phone they make one for) and http://www.ebay.com/itm/181726434936 (this is one of the only ones that actually hold on to the phone tightly without being impossible to put on or take off)
I picked this one up. Its thin and light. Have used this particular case for the last 3 years on different phones and never had an issue.
I ended up placing an order for this one last night.

I'll know tomorrow if it works as expected.
I have that Spigen case and I really like it. I have always used bigger cases, so this one is slim to me! Or, it did, before I read this post. I'm curious as to what a true slim case looks like now. As for the Spigen. It was tough to get off the first two or three times. Now, I just pull from the top (or bottom - just use the short side) and that seems to work. The whole thing comes off easily. I'm kind of a klutz, so I need drop protection. I ordered a case before I had the phone and there weren't nearly as many choices as there are now (or I didn't see them). It'll be looking forward to your thoughts on your case. I hope it works for you!

Do you drop your phone though? I like the look and might get it as a backup case. I just need something that will protect the screen and the phone against impacts. In other words, something that'll protect against more than just scratches. :fingers-crossed:

I've dropped it maybe 3 times today if that says anything... I've thrown it accidentally halfway across the room onto tile.. still fine.
Never had an issue, as long as you don't drop it screen down on a rock that is..
my m8 was in mint condition cosmetically when I sold it, had this case on it for a year. (camera died due to having a magnet constantly near it - don't get one of those magnetic mounts for your car.. learn from my mistake)
Even got that case for my girlfriend's S6 - She beats on phones and hasn't had an issue so far.
It has a decent lip around the screen, and its hard tpu.. not that rubbery junk that bends just by looking at it..

Sold! Thanks for the feedback. It's exactly what I needed to hear. Going to pick up a green one. And I guess some new tempered glass. Unless it can be reused...?
As far as I know you can't reuse them. It looks sharp in green. I've only used the tempered glass on an old galaxy s3, I thought this had Gorilla Glass

I think it does. I use tempered glass anyway. I have read tons of accounts (Okay, maybe two or three), where people dropped the phones and shattered their screens only to remember they had tempered glass on it. Peel off the shattered tempered glass and underneath they had their original unblemished screen. Plus, probably 3/4's of people I know have a shattered screen. 100% of them didn't use screen protectors and those that had a case had one of the cheap cases that don't protect anything. But I'm kind of a worrywart so..... better safe than sorry!
Agreed, if ya need it.. Ya need it I've just seen some posts about the screen being not as responsive with the tempered glass protectors for the g4.
Let me know which one you get and how it does.
Yeah, I've seen those. But people complained about the general unresponsiveness with or without it Mine has been fine. I'd probably go with a different brand ad the cheapie I have can sometimes drag during swype, causing me to input the wrong words. I had a general/off brand one.
I received the Poetic Affinity case last Friday and it is better, and easier to remove, than the Spigen I have previously tried. The case is not a flimsy TPU and it could probably hold up to a decent drop although my need was for being able to grip the phone without feeling like it would slide out of my hand. With the case on the phone it is secure and not loose. Definitely more what I was looking for. Also, it does not bother the screen protector although the most likely reason that happened was because the glass protectors fit the screen completely so there is little room for anything else unless the case fits on top of the edge.
Overall, I am definitely happy with this Poetic case.

Hello,
how intense is the look of the green. Is it like shown in the product pictures, or more soft/washed out?
Thanks
Got Neo Hybrid, and paint is getting off from plastic frame (gunmetal painted), now have two white dots, first arrived after one week (don't know when)...
Maybe I should paint it my self
It was nowhere near as vibrant as the picture. I am used to it though. I don't even remember what the original green was supposed to look like. I love the case though. I don't even wear the Spigen anymore. It certainly is lighter in weight, that's for sure.
