hi, i'm new on forum and i don't have permit to write on development page so i'm writing here my problem. i changed the kernel (to LTX Kernel) of my phone and it froze on boot, then i tried to recover on hboot but it didn't work. i did my backup with clockworkmod recovery. and now i can only open the hboot section not the clockworkmod. (i rooted it / i unlocked it ''htcDev" but it was still S-ON / ) i tried pushig and flashing lots of roms also the official one with adb but it gives me a "signiture error". i searched on google a lot, i tried anything i can do and also i gave my phone to the repairman but he also couldn't fix it. i'm out of solutions, i hope you have solutions. thank you and sorry for bad english
Download lexmazters XL multi tool. Make it s off with that, flash old recovery without touch , pics if you are on hboot 1.28 or 6.28 if on .25 flash gb recovery, without touch. Go to boot loader, you can do this by shutting down the phone, unplug battery put in battery hold down the volume down button and power button, go to recovery, mount SD card for PC, put in a custom rom and flash the rom. It should work

i'm so thankful for your reply, but here is the problem, i can't flash anything it gives me errors as "failed signiture", and my phone doesn't boot, runs the hboot screen automatically when i hit the power button, so i don't need to hit V- button at the same time. and now i just realized that it's written relocked on top. and for the s-off it says:
"Q: How to use your tool to S-OFF?
Unlock your phone, flash recovery, flash ROOT zip, boot your phone and hit the S-OFF according to your HBOOT version (1.28/1.25)"
i also tried to flash recovery_1.28.img (i have Hboot - 1.28.0006). so if it's relocked i can't do anything?
Flash ruu and root your phone to unlock it, s off it and flash recovery
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda premium
i also tried that it also gives the same error as "failed signiture":/
Try and see if you can make a logcat when going from hboot to recovery, using XL multi tool
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda premium
i'll try but i dont know how to use the logcat so i'll search and learn when i do that i will let you know
Well people, here's the thing, don't flash.things.when S-ON, and don't even thibk about using custom things with LOCKED or RELOCKED bootloaders, this is not how it's done, please read the threads before doing things, and stop using the term brick for phones that start, no matter.in what.state, but they start...
Brick is.pretty much dead, no start, no nothing, soft-brick in the worst case...
You are stuck mate now, if you can't get into recovery, and i figure you can't because of the locked bootloader, then you need to.unlock it again and access the recovery and restore your nand backup and after that S-OFF, and after that read before doing things

I absolutely agree with "Lexmazter". If your phone is powering on then it aint brick mate. You have Booloader locked than thats why aren't able to do anything. Unlocking Bootloader is the first to be able to start playing with your HTC Device and then of course you gota have S-Off.
Worry not my friend use this Tool to do EVERYTHING and get your device back to life I have fixed dozzens of phones with this tool and some of them were in a state in which your phone is

It wasn't from custom roms either thats the weird thing. I started after the phones battery went dead any ideas? Thanks for any help.

What is the SPL/radio, ROM, etc...? And what did you do prior of it getting stuck at HBOOT?
I don't have the specs right in front of me but it should all be stock after the dreaimg.nbh correct? I can boot in stock recovery and load the update.zip with signed rom's but still just hboot.
Sent from my HTC Magic/Dream using XDA App
OK! I am assuming you have the dreaming.nbh on the root of your SD card (if not, put it there.
Then turn off your phone (if it's on). While turning on your phone hold down camera + power. it should let you flash dreaming.nbh file, follow the instruction and wait until it's done. DO NOT pull the battery out.
Once it's finish then you can do the root instruction.

Please answer my other question, so I can assess what happens. There is not much info for me to go by.
Pull the battery and hook up to pc and rerun the drivers then try to root again. Sounds like you missed a step.

You need to do a data, cache, and delvik cache wipe 3 times each before installing a rom.

I just reply to you PM. Try running ADB and flash the SPL 13d and radio 2708 through fastboot.
Can you do that without root? And you know how to run adb with Ubuntu I never have?

I think you can, but I am not totally sure.

Back home working on getting the adb/sdk running now and see if i can get it running on ubuntu to find the g1 can the phone be in fast boot to recognize it??
root?
why is everyone talking about root?
from what I read no one is trying to root it.
Now that is out of the way.
boot process
tries to load kernel from boot partition
if that fails
tries to load kernel from recovery partition
if that fails
loads hboot (edit or is it just fastboot mode with 0.95.0000? I know with 1.33.x00x it goes to a black screen with fastboot in top corner and not full hboot)
OR if camera button is depressed load hboot
from what I read you have tried to reflash the dreaimg.nbh
I would assume that if it could not write to boot or recovery it would throw some error.
So can you confirm that the camera button is in good order?
and for fastboot you need to press back once you are in hboot, fastboot from the PC should then be able to see it
But, you are not going to be able to do a great deal with that SPL
Hi there,
I hope somebody can help me with this.
I have a htc IS S-off, rooted and running with a custom ROM (the mike1986 ROM, which is incredible!!).
Yesterday, my kid took my phone and start "playing" with it and when I´ve realized it, it was to late... He had entered into the recovery (Clockworkmod v3.0.2.6) and deleted some important/ sensitive data (i guess).
The situation is that, now, the phone doesn´t start working. It just stucks in the white screen with the HTC logo.I´m able to enter into the Hboot and, which is more strange, into the Clockworkmod recovery but when I reboot the system it just doesn´t start.
I´ve tried to reflash that ROM and other ROMS, but the result is always the same (Which gives me to the conclusion, speaking from my absolutely ignorance, that it shoudn´t be a ROM problem...).
I´ve also tried to make a "Factory reset", but the result is the same.
Important: When I enter into the recovery, it appears different lines of tex2t informing that: "E: can´t mount cache/ recovery/ command, log & last log. I´ve also browsed in the "advance" options of the recovery, and the system appears always unmount, and it doesn´t allow me to mount it (I don´t know if this is important or not).
Does somebody have an idea about how to fix this problem?
I would really appreciate if somebody could help me with it.
Thank you in advance!
Go to the mounts and storage menu ... format everything except your sdcard and flash mike's rom again ... see if it pops out an error ... should be fixed now ... temme if the recovery says anything wierd ...

If things dont work out ... here is a last hope-
*take the rom.zip from a RUU
*rename it to PG32DIAG.zip
*mount your sdcard to your pc in CWM recovery from the mounts and storage menu
*paste the zip unto your sdcards root folder
*reboot into bootloader and it will ask you if you want to update ...this will revert to stock and you can start the whole rooting process etc again
Also if you are alpharevx soff ... you will need a goldcard ... but not if your are xtc soff

You cannot install CWM without S-OFF. What else have you done to get your phone in the state it is in.
I have a dincs in the same state. It's stuck in a boot loop and won't do anything. Spent 20 hours trying to fix it and still no luck

On a side note. If he can not do anything with his phone being s-on could he not just wait till later this month and s-off through HTC since that will be an available service very soon?

My Vivid is unlocked, but I wanted to do S-Off to have more flashing capabilities. While going through the S-Off process, I changed my mind and decided not to do the wire trick, so I unplugged the cable. Now the phone just boots up directly to a JuopunutBear screen. Even though I can get to recovery and flash a ROM, when it boots back up it just stays stuck at that same screen. Help! What should I do?
I downloaded the latest Vivid RUU from the HTC website, but it says RUU failed. Can someone please help me get my phone back up, even if it's back to stock? I tried doing the Command controlbear.exe -r and controlbear.exe -f, but it doesn't work. I'm doing it on a different computer than when I first tried to S-Off....Do I have to go back to that original computer? I don't have access to that computer right now. If there's another way (flashing something else through fastboot), please let me know! I would be very thankful for your help!
So, my phone issue is now SOLVED! YES!
Here's what I did:
I first flashed the stock kernel from the HTC Vivid All-In-One Kit (I'm sure there are other ways, but I found this was easier.) Once I did that, I went back and relocked the phone using the same tool (It was unlocked.) After I did that, I flashed the RUU from the HTC website with no issues. I'm finally back to stock!
Hope this works for anyone that has this problem with the Juopunutbear screen stuck because of an unsuccessful S-Off!

The juopunutbear screen allows adb commands, so if you or anyone experiences this issue its as easy as:
adb reboot bootloader ( gives you a chance to install a new recovery in fastboot mode )
Or
adb reboot recovery (if you have an existing wcx recovery)
If you notice you have an s-off already proceed, and if you don't its a good way to get back into the bootloader to flash a signed ph39img.zip Rom without RUU.
In recovery, flash an unsecured boot.img ( which is selectable in dark raiders Rom ), then let your vivid start up normal, reboot to recovery then flash any kernel you wish. If you don't do this in this exact method, you'll get assert failed messages if you try to flash any kernel over the juopunutbear screen, and you'll just bootloop back into the same screen over.
Half the effort with the same great results.

of course I also got root permissions.

Also, which recovery you installed and maybe link us to the method you used so we can see what you did.
Also, for future reference you should post in the q and a thread within the general section.

3. Open up a command prompt in that folder (press shift and right click on mouse)
4. Type this in command prompt... fastboot flash recovery recovery_for_1.28.img
5. Wait for it to finish then reboot to bootloader
6. Go down to recovery and viola it should boot into recovery
If it still doesn't work you are doing something wrong somewhere

1.Your phone is not bricked, it just doesn't boot.
2.Reflash you ROM as i believe the ROM on which you tried to flash the kernel on is not compatible with the kernel.
3.Make sure you factory reset before installing a custom ROM.
ok...but i flashed a stock kernel and it worked...and now the phone is operativ but the wifi dosn't work.
