Hy all!
I have a very strange situation refer to GPS, more exactly GPS is working (find satellites and connect to them) in roms build from source but not on roms based on stock or others that have squadzone kernel.
Anyone have any idea why is happening this?
Any help is appreciated.
P.S. I even changed the baseband and still nothing.

gps will be fixed ,, i suggest using N00BY'S repack v2 , its better
If you are in asia or america, use pimp my rom to modify the gps config to your respective country. If in europe, use Dark Mod to use LTO download mode. This will allow faster gps connectivity but only for a short time.

I've just wiped my device from jeallybam CM10 and I've lost all my app (whatsapp, dolphin browser, maps...) and I don't want re-wipe and reinstall again. So, are there any solutions without flashing N00BY'S repack v2?

With stock ics gps worked , with iceboom it worked , with n00by`s it worked so i think the only thing you can do is a fresh "reinstall"
GPS test app worked for me I suggest to test it it wouldn't heart

ok, I've tried to use GPS TEST, and it says that my GPS works. but when I use maps or navigator, after 10 seconds I lost the signal and after that I can't see any satellites. well, I think it is better for me waiting for new ROM (especially ZEUS) or Marvel, where the problem will be solved.
thx
Hello,
I have problem with my GPS. The GPS sees only 3 satellites. I'm install Dmod V6 and PAC by Maclaw. And I have flash the fix by Benz (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2161857&d=1375530188) but nothing changes. And the connection is very long
My Galaxy Spica (on CyanogenMod 6) can see ten satellite.
I live in France.
It is possible to increase the number of connection ?
Sorry for my bad english.

try out the GPRS and GPS patch on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248470
once you have downloaded it, open the zip file and delete the build.prop file
then from there load the patch via cwm or twrp to your phone
it might help with your GPS issues
Dowload
You gps is slow ?
Can you open google play and dowload to GPS Faster
Hey there!
I had the same issue recently when I moved to the UK!
Try finding a file named gps.conf in your /system/etc/ folder, open it with your favourite text editor (root required) and find a line with something like
"NTP_SERVER=uk.pool.ntp.org"
where UK might be US or Europe or something like that, and change it accordingly to wherever you live. Here's a link with valid values:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200089
This solved my problem, I used to have 3 sats top, and now the phone sees at least like 14-16 every time.

good point, nope haven't tried it on 4.2.2 ROMs
Thanks for your replies!
I tried the gps.conf patch and used fasterGPS, still I get only 3 satellites. If I'm lucky i get 4, but that happens rarely.
If I put my p3110 next to my s3 mini i get 11 or more satellites.
I'm on a 4.2. rom so perhaps thats the issue

I just tried stock rom with android 4.1.GPS is working there. So it seems to be an issue with 4.2/maclaws cm rom.

from the posts I have seen so far there is no fix for the GPS issue on cm 10.1 ROM's
so if GPS is important to you then i would suggest going to one of the custom stock ROM's
or
just go back to your original stock ROM

you're welcome
WIth Oliver's new Rom (250813) my gps troubles in 4.2.2 are fixed.
Since I got my i9070 I tried some roms: Pure Vanilla, LightJB, CM 10.1, CM 10.2, Omni
I read all these roms threads, and everything I found on the General section, and also other GPS posts I found on xda and google.
The thing is that with stock, Pure Vanilla and LightJB I had no problems with GPS, without caring of which stock I´d flashed first.
But when moving to CM 10.1, 10.2 or Omni, GPS just gets crazy. Very few times it fixes without problems, most of the times it takes 10 to 15 minutes to fix and sometimes it doesn´t even fix.
I tried with different gps.conf configurations and nothing changed, also with fasterfix, gps status, gps fix and so on... but it´s the same.
What I´m asking for is, as I´m not a developer and I don´t know anything about coding, is what else appart from gps.conf makes the gps work? Are there any files I can try from other roms to test if by replacing them I can get gps to work?
I´ll be more than happy to test anything to make GPS work stable.
More than Kit Kat, I´ll be very happy to have a custom rom, such as CM, working fully stable for my device.
Thanks indeed.
If gps is working for most of users, maybe it is not ROMs fault. Maybe you should try with some other firmware (other baseband than yours now). And do you wipe cache and dalvik cache? And do factory reset after ROM change? That is a must for avoiding strange problems.
If its a question, then threads always go in Q&A.
Development is for development, no exception.
EDIT - Ive cleaned the thread or edited posts, they were all off topic. No point stating rules when your breaking them yourselves.
Back on topic please
Thanks :good:
Try with other baseband now. See what will be.
P.S. We all would be very happy with fully stable CM, but if you follow anything about CM's - we do not have needed sources. Developers are patching stuff and make it usable as they can...

For Argentina we only have 3 stock roms. I tried with the 3 of them.
If I use another stock rom, will I still have 2g/3g?

I am not sure about that. And I remember that phones with firmwares from Argentina had some problems on Omni...
Maybe try with Brasil or some other in your region. Ofcourse do not flash I9070P firmware on I9070 phone, and otherwise.

One of them was me. Also Tano and a couple of guys more... The same happened to us with CM 10.1 and 10.2
That´s the reason I made this thread.
Shut_down: thanks for your answers.
Baseband doesn´t have to do only with mobile signal? What I knew is that baseband was for mobile and data signal but GPS is a separate thing. Because of this, we can have no phone signal at all, no A-GPS, but GPS working. Something useful for hiking far from cities for example.

Maybe this what I bolded is crucial. Without A-GPS it is working lot slower... I remember on stock before I was waiting long for a fix. But on the other hand, now without internet it is lot faster on CM10.1 than yours...

I´ve already try it before, but I´ll try it again now I have CM 10.1 installed back from 0.
Well... aparently this time, it works!!!. More or less 1:30 mins to fix.
Question about this. Doesn´t if fix A-GPS?

The thing is that many times I´m in places without mobile signal.
Doesn´t A-GPS work only with phone signal by making a triangulation with antenas?

Not with this phone, I tried it with the Galaxy I had before. Didn't like MIUI.
Hello guys. I just wonder is there any solution for fixing GPS in CM ROMs? Because i read that we need to flash stock rom, set gps at high accurarry and then flash CM. I think its enough to write gps.conf file from stock rom to cm based (if yes, can anyone upload it here, because i tried from my brothers Z3, but still not working)? Or its other way to fix it?
Same issue in 12.1
