The drain isnt caused by beats audio, it's v30b itself. You could try to use search, someone else already tried that. Then you need my system dump of v30b, replace the replaced files by beats and you ll be back to normal

Soo.. Beats isn't causing the drain? And btw, what is the average battery drain per hour with music being played on stock player, and 2g data connection switched on?

Gotta confess i didnt really have a close look at this yet, but what i know is, it s a lot... probably around 10-15% per hour, but i can only guess, since i didnt monitor it properly. But dont forget, that it also depends on the governor, iosched, other installed apps, that might keep the phone busy,... i ll try to have an eye on it in the coming days

Yep... That's what I'm getting... An hour of music, and around 15-20% drain

For me 1 hour of music about 10%... 15% isn't that bad too you know.. maybe you were listening at high volume, or used equalizers. But I don't think beats libs really acts as an equalizer..

Oh... I guess it's just an OB factor, then. My phone's like a year or so old. Should I replace my battery!?

How to improve ridiculously low battery life?

I am on cm7.2RC and i love it so far. Its fast, smooth and works like a charm. But the only one thing i hate about it is that it has terrible battery life. Within 3-4 hours of complete charge my battery runs down to 20%. I could flash a different rom but i dont wanna do that because i'm loving this rc build, well besides the terrible battery life.
Please help.

That's a problem within Cm7. It cannot be fixed at the moment...
Try custom CM 7 from KANG is awesome the audio is fixed and battery life is as good as stock!

All juice defender does is disable the wifi and 3g when not needed. I disable them manually from habit after use and because of that battery increase was 0.
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
you can do the same thing in tasker or even more as in juicedefender. Tasker is also cheaper.
Agreed, juicedefender will only disable wifi and 3g connections.
Do it manually, without the need to install other app, and save your battery... One day with wifi disabled you hardly will use more than 10% of your battery (without gaming, just music)
Juice defender no doubt disables wifi and cellular data and ofcorse you can do it manually but it has the option of disabling wireless connections when the screen is off which saves a little more battery life. Get the free version, coz i used the Ultimate one and besides more manual options nothing else is different.

[Q] Music apps & Battery...

Is there any Music app out there that doesn't drain the whole battery in 3-5hrs? I've downclocked the phone to 456mhz when the screen if turned off but that still doesn't help.
So far I've tried Stock, Google Music and Poweramp but to no avail... Using Stock kernel w/ CM 7.2.
I'm open to all suggestions.

I will try it again tonight. Maybe I was wrong.
Apples1n try the Vadonka's 3.0 beta kernel! This is the far best kernel in terms of battery.
Now I use django's stock rom with gueste kernel, but the battery is much worse then cm7+etana.
I made a test. I listened music with stock player, and play with Wordz game (continues wifi using).
8% battery drain/30 minutes.
I have one years old stock battery.

The main problem by me where the dsp-settings.
when i used that, my battery drops 10/20% a hour.
now i use a Poweramp patch ( Poweramp pro for free)
search on google.
in my opinion it's the best music player with the best eqalizer
and the patch is a lot more saving battery's
when i use poweramp my battery drops 3/6 % an hour
so my advise is:
when you are rooted, google the poweramp patch and download it !
And please press the "Thanks" button if you found this verry helpful.

I was using Incredibly Cool Sense v3, LTX Kernel 0.5, GB Radio.
Hope this helps

That is relevant. How many apps do you have, wich rom, task killer, good reception, 3G or GSM etc.
Every phone is different. I can hit the bottom after 5-6 hrs and if i don't use it to much i get 3d 12 hrs or somethin.
But normal i got 1d and couple hrs which is fine with me.

I think you can, but with some drawbacks, you can put your processor at 800Mhz, and it you use it only for Internet Navigation it should get you at least 2 hours bonus. It can be done using my kernel and SetCPU or Antutu CPU Master Free. I managed to get 5 Hours of continuous Gaming! To a total of 8 hours of activity, put it to charge at 15%.
Games tested using 800Mhz and working like charm: X-Runner, Rail Rush, Plague Inc, Slice Ice.

In that case it can. But we talked about stock rom without any changes.
i dont understands you guyes, on my sensation xl, 3g is also permanently on, and in one day i listen to music around 2 hours and surfing internet and xda around 2 hours, also sync with mail every 30 minutes but in the most off the roms from here i had tryed out the battery is always be around 25 to 30 % after a whole day with that use.
My battery life is crap
I have fshami's Miui xl rom with Vertigo's kernel, screen brightness very low, 3g always on (fastest one), gb radio and I got about 8hours in light use and 5-6 hours in heavy use.

With heavy usage i get 5-6hrs with 100% brightness on stock ICS.
hmmm I got Miui XL with LTX kernel, slightly overclocked to 1,6Ghz. HSDPA always on.
Phone runs between 10 hours and 2 days dependent on use.
With heavy use it runs atleast between 10 and 12 hours.
I guess thats pretty good
EDIT: oh and brightness is on auto
Yes it is, I have working on a cm9 build and that's very good to battery and still very fast. I think when we get a stable cm9 our phones will be so much faster. And the cm9 I have tried is even without any tweaks or mods at all lex is build a cm9 from source and he will get it working. The cm9 I have working on needs some stuff in kernel before the rest will work, therefore lex building from source , it is faster than keep fixing a ported cm9 build

My fully charged battery lasts for 12 to 14 hours. I do texting, use WiFi and about 1 hour of calls everyday.
Is there any way to make it better apart from installing taskkiller etc etc?

Never use task killer. It will make your battery life worse then ever. That batt life is good that you have. And frankly what can you want more from a 1600mAh battery anyway.....
I am totally agree. When killing system apps and user installed apps må ny of them just restart and using ofte more ram because they are not a cached prosess anymore.
Correct me if i am wrong only thing you can try is another rom that is better tweaked to battery, or simply underclock the prossesor can often give better battery but slower phone

[Q] What factor affect to Battery life?

I am a big fan of Samerd's Rom since it published version 5.0
Smoothness, Add Flipping animation ...
King Kobra makes my S.XL beautiful and wonderful
it's perfect! execpt one thing...
After Version 6.0 my battery graph show me almost 45 degree
100% goes down to 10% within 3hours
Moreover, some people experience same problem at battery drain,
but some lucky guys said that threre are no problem at battery life.
so, i'm curious about that there are any factors affect battery life?
For examples, performance of radio(may differ to country?)
that's a hard problem to me who din't have a knowledge to android development

Mostly it fixes battery stats but not bad battery life. What apps you have running in backround?

Xperia V - Huge battery drain (Google Services)

My Xperia V was draining much battery while sleeping, so yesterday I flashed cm-10.1.3-RC2 hoping it could get better.
But it's still draining almost 30% in a period of 8 hours, while I'm sleeping.
I can notice a huge drain caused by Google Services and have already greenified some apps.
It can't be normal, right?! Could someone help me?
Despite this problem, now I have a really better smartphone... So, thank FXP and, please, keep supporting Xperia V.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Not sure if this question belongs to be an own thread...but ok. here we go.
from my experience with Cm i can tell you, if you want better battery life, then you maybe should use a stock firmware!
I used CM and AOKP some weeks before, but the battery drain wasnt normal, not to say horrible.
But this is my experience. You should ask in your CM-Rom Thread, or CM Q/A Thread i think.
I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
30% in 8 hours means that on average your battery will last a day.
That is perfectly normal.
Also, if you keep flashing stuff and installing apps then it drains battery quicker. Leave it alone for a week and see if it settles down.
Sorry, i have a Xperia T.
in the xperia T thread of tilals unofficial CM build (development section) someone mentions also such problems:

30% in 8hours sleeping? horrible....but you are right, let it settle, fmlogin
Omg, my Galaxy s3 loses only 2% in the same period while sleeping, it's a BIG difference
I had been facing this problem since I bought this phone (2 months ago), that's why I tried to flash CM yesterday... So, I think that nothing will change if I just wait...
Anyway, thank you guys...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
apologies, I didn't see that it was 8 hours while you were asleep. That is not right. But it may be because its working hard after a flash. Please leave it for a while and it should settle, or install better battery stats app (Free on xda) and see whats keeping the phone awake.
Also check what your cpu is set at and the governor, if its on performance it will be maxing out all the time..

Some screenshots.
The graphs show another problem: it is like the phone just know that lost some battery when I turn on the screen.
For example: if I leave the phone with 95%, it pass the hole night "thinking" it has this value, but when I turn on the screen the battery instantly loses around 15%, this "fast drain" stabilizes when it reaches the "real percentage".
Could it be a hardware problem? The battery itself...
Has already someone noticed something similar?
