can the lock screen apps be changed on the droid bionic after the ics update?
The only way I know of changing the lock screen apps is by installing a replacement and freezing the stock app. For example, installing Go SMS Pro and freezing the Text Messaging app. This works well, but only allows you to replace the lockscreen apps with duplicate functionality. Beyond that, you could try a lockscreen replacement app... they've gotten a lot better lately.

I know many people here have reported lag associated with the stock lockscreen that comes with the device. I was curious to know that if anyone has tried a new lockscreen and seen better results? Such as installing a vanilla AOSP lockscreen in place of the blur one and see if it makes any difference?
I dont know if the lockscreen is an actual .apk you can change out easily or not, as i have not poked around myself, but i do know that when i owned my incredible many people were switching out there sense lockscreens for vanilla ones and it didnt seem like a big deal
+1 for this question / desire. I too would like to switch out the lockscreen (and indeed some other APKs/items) for "stock" if possible...
Well, I'll tell you this. I use ADW launcher and have not noticed any lag at the lock screen. I've also seen others using custom launchers that also have said they notice no lag.
I've used adw and launcher pro and still have lag on the lock screen on 2.2

Go look up Widget Locker. It's a sexy lockscreen widget that removes lag COMPLETELY (it actually disables the android lockscreen and you use it instead. Works fansmic, allows tons of widgets on it, including shortcuts to your favorite apps fast, and security locks.
$1.99 in market - search widget locker.
The only thing with Widget Locker -- in my experience -- is that turning on the phone sometimes shows the default lockscreen for a second before fading into widget locker.
Does the home button bypass widget locker?

No lag using flyscreen either.

If you disable screen lock in Location & Security in the settings, you don't get that issue anymore.
I had the same gripe about it until I found that option to uncheck.

I didn't find the option to disable screen lock, but I turned it off using extended controls widget, which should have the same effect. Either way, thanks for the tip!
Not that this has anything to do with your op but htc does not make the droidx as per your signature. Thought you might want to know.

I don't have this option, but I downloaded "No Lock" from the marketplace and it works great with Flyscreen. (I'm using the Froyo leak posted recently)
Hey guys,
I'm on CM7 and have WidgetLocker. I'm wondering if I am able to still use a sort of phone/screen lock (Pin, PW, Pattern) without having the default Android lock screen first.
What I mean is straight from WidgetLocker --> Enter Password --> Homescreen.
I played around with the settings and the closest I came was I ended up having to go through 2 lockscreens (both the WidgetLocker and the default one) and the code, which is a bit redundant.
Side question: How do I change the statusbar icons? (Signal, Wi-Fi, Battery icons) Do they come along with released themes? Or can I mod them manually?
Thanks, appreciate it.
I believe that you can do this by using the pattern lock screen but the others won't work basically after you unlock it should pull up the pattern lock screen.
Oh and the easiest way to get themes is to search the forums here and the market for CM7 Themes and then just download and use the Theme Chooser App.
CM7.1 includes a setting to disable the system slider before security.
CM Settings > Lockscreen > Disable lockscreen on security
CM7 doesn't, but you can use WL's Root Helper's Autoswipe instead.
Thanks for the help guys, I got it to work using the Root Helper.
One last question: Is there a way to have these WidgetLockers as the screen to answer calls instead of the default Android one? Thanks!
Thanks for your help!
I'm on ARHD 20.1 and I would love to have a cleaner look on my lockscreen and remove, the clock as well as the defaults apps which are in my dock. It used to be you could edit and choose the apps that are displayed in the lockscreen but now i can only edit the wallpaper.
Any ideas ?

The only way to remove the apps on the lockscreen is to use a different launcher and remove all apps from the dock in Sense before switching to the 3rd party launcher, or, don't have any apps in the dock if you want to use Sense. With regards to the clock on the lockscreen, the only way to remove it is to use ViperOne ROM which has an option to disable it by way of a built in Mod (which I did ask the Dev about releasing it as a standalone Mod as I don't want to use Viper, I had no reply though) ... The other workaround is to delete HTCLockScreen.apk and use the default, Android lockscreen, this has issues though such as having to unlock to answer a call, no message notifications other than in the notification pulldown and same goes for missed calls ... The one positive though is you would do away with the weather and the apps on your lockscreen, and, btw of running some command in terminal, you can enable the ability to have different widgets such as cLock which lets you change colours and depending on your wallpaper, would allow for the possibility of having no clock (purely by having, for example, a black wallpaper and setting cLock up so that the fonts are black, this would essentially hide the clock from your lockscreen.
I use Apex Launcher but I edited a lot of apk's icons manually and they are incorporated into my ROM, same with Mods. I edited icons, menus, alsorts lol to get it set up right and flashable in one go rather than flashing loads of different Mods, it looks the same on Sense does mine btw as the icons in my dock are actually edited right in the apk rather than just chaging them on Apex ... It looks like this:

How did you remove the carrier name?
Hi,
is it really impossible for the moment to have a normally-working lockscreen or "no lockscreen", that does not eat the battery on HTC One?
I have noticed by "OS monitor", that even if I set "HTC no-lockscreen" active - idlescreen process keeps accessing my phone constantly and eating the battery, because it accesses WeatherProvider all the time! I don't want to use weather at all while my phone is locked and besides, I have a third-party Elecon HD weather app that I do use.
When in my custom ROM I set AOSP lockscreen as active - I have to unlock my screen on incoming call and alarming, as described here.
Just want to make sure: no any solution for the moment - to MAKE HTC lockscreen not to access weather service to save battery OR to customize side-lockscreen so, that it would auto-unlock my phone when alarming or incoming call?
Hi guys
Wondered if someone might be able to help. I have just started using Minimalistic text, and I love it. What I want to do is use the clock widget on my lock screen. I am running ARHD 51. I know I cant add it to the first default lock screen on sense, but can add it to the side screen. But that is no good as it doesn't come up straight away when you wake the phone. I have managed to go into the system app folder and backed up the htc sense lock screen, and then uninstalled it, this has given me the default android lock screen. By doing this I was hoping I might be able to add widgets to the very first screen, but it wont let me change it at all. I want to try and avoid using a third party lock screen from the play store and stick with the originals if poss, I use the Greenpower app to toggle the Data and wifi when I lock my screen, but third party apps don't work to well with it.
So can anybody help me get the minimalistic text clock onto the lock screen.:fingers-crossed:
Hi there,
Is there a theme that shows notifications on the lock screen like stock Lollipop (e.g. Nexus phones)? I think this is one of the biggest missing features of Lollipop that should have been integrated into EMUI.
Is there a way to get such a lock screen (stock Android) with possibly root, without having to install a 3rd party application?

Every theme works but you need to choose in the theme app as lockscreen the magazine unlock
