Hi,
I have Galaxy Note with 4.0.3 rooted already. I tried to installed the Ultimate JB v5.1 from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970626
Now I am having a problem. The Philz Touch 3 seems working now, but when I am trying to flash the rom. There is absolutely no progress BAR!
After 5-10 minutes the phone reboot itself. Then the JB rom was not installed. It stuck at a screen displays Installing applications.....
It will be like that forever.
and I can't go back to 4.0.3. I did not backup....
It seems like the OLD ICS is still on my phone but I can not enter the system. It says Installing Applications forever. Then if I connect a usb,
I actually can goto Setting, then I see the phone is still on 4.0.3.
Seems like I only partially wiped out the old ICS? I could not see the internalsd from my PC after connect the USB.
I have also formatted EMMC... am I screwed?
Is there a way to save the phone?
Please help.
Many many thanks
Tony
Are you able to go into download mode? If yes then flash a stock ics through pc odin. This should boot up your phone normally

Thanks for replying, I think I am able to Reboot Download from Philz Touch 3. I will certainly try that.
Currently it seems like I still have old system remained in my phone but partially. That might be why I could not boot.
I will try that option.
Thanks
Tony
Yes, there is; your phone boots so all is still well. Download odin, and put your phone into download mode (volume up + home + power; pressed at tge sane time it will automagically reboot and only when you see the galaxy note icon you release these buttons. Now also download a stock pre-rooted GINGERBREAD rom and glash this rom via odin, there will be 3 things to flash; csc, phone and if I remember corrrectly also modem. Now just let it boot and you will be safe again. Now you can experiment again....

Hello everyone.
I have just flashed the Darky's 9.0 ROM on my Galaxy S.
At the first boot, the device stuck at the Nexus S animation screen and vibrate every 1~2 minutes but cannot enter the home screen.
I would like to ask what should I do next? I have tried to re-flash the ROM but it seems doesn't help at all.
i didnt know darky had released his 9.0 ROM yet, last i heard about that it was still in BETA mode as it contains bugs and things.. Anyway Can you get into download mode. Volume up + home + Power button ?? if so i would just flash back to stock ROM and go for a different ROM maybe darkys 8.1 or below..
EDIT : Just seen darky has released 9.0 ignore me ive only just noticed...
You should ask Darky about his rom problems .
Or as the previous post wipe it off your phone .

Thanks for your reply.
I would also like to know what is the first boot normally looks like? Is it like my situation that keep "looping" the animation screen?
I flash the ROM again and I don't know whether to wait it or not.
well usually first boot can take up to 20mins in some cases, but reading through his threads few people are having trouble.. i am going to use his 9.0 ROM myself but i will be waiting another week or so till i know its running at 100%.
Also, what ROM did you have before ? if your so persistent on having it i recommend re flashing to stock ROM, install darkys 8.1 / 2, choose voodoo kernel, then upgrade to 9.0..
Thats just what i would do, if it goes pear shaped thats not down to me..

I have downloaded two stock ROM, both in tar format.
But I haven't put the two file into the internal SD card yet.
When I plug in the device. the PC cannot read it.
When I plug in under recovery mode, the PC can read 3 devices in "My Computer" but shows half-transparent color and cannot access them.
But I have just realize that the stock ROM is acompressed with the odin program
Can I install the stock ROM via odin?
you must flash stock via odin
Fix for boot loop
Posted a solution in the main ROM thread, here's the link to the fix
yes u have to do stock ROMS via ODIN, open up ODIN, select pda, find the .tar file (something like JPY_JPY.tar) make sure re-partition is UNchecked, then put the phone in downlode mode. Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button, that should bring up a yellow screen, then connect the phone to the pc. Make sure Kies is closed ( even in icon tray) the ODIN should see the phone ( something like COM 8 READY) press start and wait for the pass screen on ODIN.
HELP!!!
Im stuck on boot logo and I cannot flash anything on PC Odin. And I cannot access Recovery Mode (Neither CWM or system recovery). I can only go into Download Mode.
I was on CheckRom NoteHD and I used the kitchen app to download franco kernel and one of the mods (Use camera flash below 15% to be precise) and as soon as I installed, it didn't let me boot back into Checkrom!!! And Now im stuck on boot logo no matter how hard I try. I did try flashing the wipe ROM (Pre-rooted Open Europe 2.3.6 LC1), I also tried flashing the CF-Root file but still no luck. PC Odin says failed in between the process!!
Please Help me guys.. I don't know what really went wrong as I have installed stuff from the KitchenPro App before.
What can I do now?
Thanks

First this:Turn off the device and pull the battery, wait for 30 seconds and try to get in recovery mode, if that works reflash CheckRom. If that doesn`t work pull the battery again and get in downloadmode and connect to the pc and see if Odin recognizes the phone. If it does flash any stock rom.

I tried the exact same thing you mentioned and no, it doesn't go into recovery mode. and yes, it does go into download mode but it fails to flash. I tried 2-3 different firmware versions of 2.3.6, 4.0.3 and I'm pretty sure the downloaded files aren't corrupt!! I don't know what to do...
The only thing working is getting to download mode but then thats no point since I can't flash any ROM.

There are threads about reviving recovery i think on xda, haven`t needed them so far but look around and you will find them. If you can`t restore recovery or downloadmode then it`s off to the shop i guess
Does Odin recognize your phone, what exactly goes wrong when flashing with Odin?

i have the same situation like you before ...try this ..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886 i works for me..hope it works for you too...
"Battery Too Low, Can't Download"
Now there's another problem.
Not only I Can't flash anything, I can't even get to Download Mode because the battery is low.
When I press the Vol Down + Power + Home key, I get "Low Battery, Can't Download" in red font.
I left my phone on charge through the AC port and I had no idea it wouldn't charge. The only thing was that my phone was exteremly hot but still with zero battery. I even tried plugging the phone through the USB cable but still no luck.
I removed battery for few minutes upto 30 mins and put it back in and plugged in the charger but all I see is the empty battery symbol keeps flashing every 5 seconds.
Is there any way I can charge my battery and get back to download mode so I could try flashing the stock kernel to get past the boot screen? I even tried plugging in the USB jig that I used with my SGSII previously, but it was of no use as well.
Please Help!!!
your only option is to use a universal charger external, or borrow another note to put your battery in.
once your battery is full you can carry on the previous steps
good luck

Hey,
I managed to buy an external charger and I was able to go to Download Mode again.
After that I tried to flash stock kernel (stockKernelXXLA4.tar) And Odin said "Pass".
After that I was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Logo again.
I'm not sure what to do now!!
Please help.
Is there anything else that I could flash?
Even though I flashed a stock kernel, I still see a yellow exclamation mark..
PLEASE HELP, I NEED MY NOTE TO COME BACK TO LIFE!
Sorted this mess out!!!
I flashed "N7000JPLPD_N7000OJPLP7_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar" And the phone now works!!!
Stock kernels didn't do the work for me, but the official ICS release did.
Thanks to all that contributed in the thread.

Ok so I was on the Vodafone release of the JB update, the phone became real laggy etc so I decided to see if there were any more releases of the JB update, I found Australia's LT6 so I switched off my phone.
I connected to ODIN on my laptop and put the MD5 file into the PDA and clicked start, It failed, so I tried again from scratch and it failed once more, Since then I have tried flashing A copy of the old Gingerbread stock rom. Still no avail.
I can access Download mode and when I enter recovery mode I get firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in Kies.
Kies does not register the device yet my laptop makes the sound when I connect it.
What do I do to save my phone!
Info; My phone is not rooted or on a custom ROM All stock.

Flash the CM9 safe kernel in download mode using ODIN PC : here http://www.mediafire.com/?uhiges9y3zhs8oi and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1068597&d=1337343150
Then, you will be able to boot into recovery by pressing Vol Up + Home + Power.
Recovery will give you access to USB mode, put a stock ROM or Small Pristine XXLT5 on your SD Card (internal or external).
Do a factory reset, wipe /system/, flash the ROM, and you will be good to go ! :good:

Why do I need to use a CM9 Kernal?
I don't want to have root.
Where do I put the Kernal in Odin?
First of all you should tell as exactly what error you got when installing XXLT5 in PC Odin.
Maybe make a snapshot of PC Odin window with the error.
Not start more actions with other ways to install a Rom before it's clear what happened. If you do not know it might get even uglier.
Hi,
I'm a newbie who has a Galaxy Note N7000, 4.0.3 with kernal LQ3.
I wanted to root and install a new room.
I downloaded "PhilZ-cwm6-XXLQ3-OXX-v3.99" and successfully installed it via my microSD-card.
Without booting my phone I by mistake installed "gapps-jb-20130301-signed" and it worked flawless as well, so I thought why not try install the ROM directly as well - without rebooting the phone hence I started the installation of "JellyBeer-v4.32-29062013-101059-n7000". This was made without choosing "wipe data/cache".
Everything seemed to work fine, and it was in the stage "installing".
Without noticing the screen turned black and I got panic and after 20 sec I removed the battery. Now the phone doesn't react on either the power button or recover mode. The screen just continues to stay black. Can see any indication once connected to the charger either....
Can you please help me with advises?
Can you enter the download mode (vol down + home + power). If you can, download one of the stock ROMs from sammobile.com and flash using PC ODIN. This should take you back to the stock ROM after which u can again root using the Philz kernel. And before flashing, please read the instructions carefully. You have to flash the ROM first after a data/cache wipe and then gapps (if needed).
Hi,
It dosen't seem to react to the download mode....
Is it possible to do something by entering the phone's hardware? Remove battery - for cache restore or similar?

4. It Stuck on Samsung logo again
5. I was trying to boot recovery mode but it was not booting (to wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik Cache)
6. I am able to start phone in Download Mode only and not Recovery mode. (using Hardware Keys)
Can anyone help me out coming out of this. I still believe if i can wipe my data/Dalvik/System Cache using ODIN my phone will start.

kinda strange issue,
usually if you've already flashed the original Samsung firmware, it will come together with "built-in" recovery which "possible" to be access in any circumstances,
hmmm, try to do odin again, with different frimware version from different country (I also didn't use my own country firmware) :silly:
by default, try to disable "auto-reboot" option on the odin,
once you've complete flashed the firmware, try to remove the battery for moment, and boot into recovery,
should be working
give it a try, I used to do it in my S Plus, :silly:

hmm, strange, however I did do some research for this kind of issues,
and most of my finding stated it might to do with hardware issues (case where unable to boot normally, only download mode),
however, I do believe you can try with older version of firmware (probably last year?)
and try disable "auto-reboot" on the odin,
upon odin stated "reset" quickly pull out the battery (providing the screen is completely closed/off)
and try to reboot into recovery mode by it combinational keys, "volume up + home + power" (hold it a bit longer till samsung logo disappear) :silly:
I've even try to soft-bricked my S Plus, and try this one, seems I can boot both normally and recovery (to do wipe)
