Guys,
I tried the AOKP Schizoid rom, which has too many controls within and a odd setup for screen based buttons, and then i tried the unofficial CM10 preview which has issues of its own. I am still running the ICS rom that came out, with no camera working.
What is the best rom to flash via CWM.
Thanks !
If you want an AOSP based ROM you can grab the slim ROM from my CM10AOKP thread.

There is a camera fix you can flash for CM9. Its in the development forum.
What I will never understand is how CM ROMs always come out with broken cameras, yet someone else always manages to make a camera fix. Its almost like the folks at CM hate cameras, and maybe even break them on purpose.

Thanks ! I did load it up, but the AOSP keyboard kept on crashing, along with no buttons for settings.....is that normal for your ROM ?
LMK ! Thanks !
slim rom is experimental and a work in progress at the moment.

I'm interested to know the answer to this as well. most if not all other ROMs pale in comparaison with Imilka's.
Sad to see the developement of two of the best roms for the note being discontinued.

The CM team has gone public by saying that they will officially support Note. So imilka thought its no nlonger required to continue his work off CM and hence stopped it. Sad but his work was definitely awesome!!
I liked Milka's work but more dev's working on CM9 for the Note the better.
When pulling from the Nightlies you do have to be picky. On CM7 for the Evo, there were many crappy builds that come out. Seems like every now and then they take a few steps backwards. But sometimes they have some pretty neat mods that pop up too.
He will be missed I hope he starts work on aosp again.

Sad but I dont want him to abandon note!!
He is a great Dev (Respect+)
It will be a great loss I hope he stays and brews his ol good magic!!
Thanks for support guys but unfortunately, or more likely fortunately, it seems my work isn't needed anymore.
I can not believe this :-(
I happily donated to your work
And am sticking to v3 now
This made me realize I spent most of my time (past few years) searching for the perfect combo (hardware/software)
Been flashing and testing everything I could from my first android sartphone, the holy HTC Hero then acer liquid->motorola milestone->galaxy s->htc desire z->optimus 2X->galaxy s2->galaxy note
Used to spend most of my time browsing the web searching for optimization, tweaks and so for my smartphone
For the first time I feel a great relief and start using my smartphone actually
Can't find the words to express my gratitude but you really brought my GNote to everything I expected from it
BIG THANKS, imilka ... and Cyanogen teams for galaxy s2 CM9, Samsung for the GNote and XDA of course !

Please at least continue work on the AOSP ROM. I'd definitely go back to that one from CM9 if you proceed with development for it. Tried all ROMs in the Dev section for the note and none is as polished and stable as yours.

i always loved your work (aosp and cm9 so far) and i'm kind of sad you discontinued.
anyway, i want to thank you again this way for sharing your roms with us!

I think there is no reason why you should not,
The imilka's CM9 v03 delivers a very strong, reliable stable ROM for daily usage
And is by far a better option to stock GB, IMHO of course ...
Even it's discontinued, it's a very good option to go while waiting something more official comes out
Enjoy it !

I was running your cm9 from the first release and being happy with it 'till your stop. Thanks a lot for your time spent and the good work.
I'm so glad I found imilkas cm9. On on v3 at the minute, and it's certainly a keeper for me.
One thing concerns me though, I've only had a quick look around the net, but couldn't find anything official that the cm team will support the note, can anyone share a link?

I've only read rumors so far and someone listed some code commits from the cm9 repository. I've checked the Cyanogen Mod home page yesterday and haven't found any pointer to the galaxy note.
Hi,
I just bought a SGS+ and I am curious what ROM shoud I choose?(I`ve seen a lot here) Because stock ROM lag`s every time I unlock phone, sometimes apps lag a couple of seconds and I would preffer ICS based ROM but I can try JellyBean too.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Thanks.
Really comes down to your preferences. Some are feature rich, some are slimmed down, still others are aimed at gamers and performance. Personally I'm enjoying the Tsunami builds in the 4.1.2 flavor. Just check out a few until one suits you.

There are many good ROMs, you should try them and decide what is the best for you.
If you want more performance or if you don't want lag, you can flash a kernel with OC support, you can change the governor and the IO scheduler.
Good luck
I too own a SGS + and for me Bio Hazard is the perfect ICS Rom.
While Gigabread + is the perfect Gingerbread Rom.
But that are my views, it may not be the perfect match for you, so just try out all the ROMs, and one last thing, Jellybean at the sec is a little buggy so stick with 2.3 or 4 !
Ty Brahmnoor! I've tryed Biohazzard and it is a great ROM! Till now!
the topic can be closed! ty all!

no probs !
I strongly recommend using Jelly Bean ROMs rather than ICS ones. There are several reasons for that because JB is clearly an upgrade to ICS and not to mention the notorius ICS media bug.
You can start working with cm rom's i find them very attractive. although flashed today MagicBean rom, pretty nice to.
All you need to do is start working in that, keep on trying
My two favs...and the only 2 i switch between after trying almost everything there is.
1. CM9 + Devil Kernel (ICS)
2. Saurom + Semaphore 2.7.4 (gingerbread)
Currently using Saurom + semaphore 2.7.4
Just recently flashed this and im very impressed and pleased.

I would suggest trying out the JB ROM by Ivendor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000828). I'm pretty happy with it, especially since I do not use the features mentioned in that thread as buggy/not working.
The overall performance is awesome, the user interface is very smooth and battery life is better than I had with CM9 ROM.

well cm means(cyanogen mod) they are devs share their sources and its good one.
aokp means(android open kang project) and also they are devs share their sources and sure its diffrent from cm.
aosp(android open source project) that type google it self make it and share their sources and its the clear android version without any changes just the original view that nexus devices have.
and pac means (paranoid +aopk + cm) that means this kind of roms have the whole those thing above together in one rom and its pretty awsome
and for me i used cm10.1 by biel and use scripts (this make the rom more smooth and more active ) so i used the script by slaid480 and it called(fly on mod) and everyghing work good for me
thats it
hope you understand

I have only used CM(7.2) till now...
But here is what i know/read and can sum up:
•AOSP-Best ones (performance wise). They are most stable since they are official. They are released only after extreme alpha and beta phases... but not as customizable as others.
•AOKP: They are modded versions of AOSP. Customizable. But I have read somewhere that they drain a lot of battery.
•CM: More fast. More Stable. They are the ones that give you unofficial releases of ICS, JB, etc.
•PAC: Its a hybrid. Cant guarantee battery life. But can be awesome if you put it to use in right way.
However, if you are new to flashing, I'd recommend CM 7.2 (further ones are not as stable as 7.2)... Rest can be used after you get hold of things.
But its up to you to decide.
Best Of Luck....
Plz hit thanks if you think this was helpful.

Everyone have different experience with roms...i have same battery life with aokp and cm10.1,but i use aokp as its faster and smoother..aosp is smoother than cm and aokp, but its not customizable.

In simple words,
1) CM offers customisation and control but not as handy as aokp.
2) AOSP roms are the ones that offer no customisation at all unlike cm, aokp etc. They just give you the pure Android experience like your stock rom.
3) Paranoid Android is famously known for bringing tablet like ui on phones with customisation & controls much similar to cm.
4) PAC rom is an integration of all, i.e., aokp, cm and paranoid android.

I admit it! I cheated on you CM! There - it's out! Did it for weeks. Flashed and flashed all sorts of Sense custom ROMs and thought 'I'll never go back to CM!'. But, as always, I return to the master - will you forgive me?
However i need to know if you can offer this cos i can't quite tell from the current crop of CM related ROMs over whether this is available or not:
- HTC logo to access menu - I think this is in some of the custom CM ROMs maybe?? I just can't do with that horrible three dot menu thing - erkkkkk! - can this be removed in the current CM ROMs??
-Is there a downloadable custom kernel??
And CM - please forgive me - I shall never cheat again no matter what new dressed up Senseual comes along and flirts with me and shows a bit of leg. And you do know - I always come back ...
I did the same thing. I was on stock ROMs for a week. I couldn't take it any longer why even root its just like stock. Ran cm for 2 days but still missed AOKP then saw it when official and I was all over it.
I've been on AOKP now for 24hrs and I'm never going back to stock ROMs.
This is by far the best ROM I've ran on a phone

Yeah I've googled it. They "sound" very different but in practice they feel the same.
I'm only asking for the main differences between them.
Back in the days of 4.1 ROMs dmod etc all the ROMs were very different. Now they don't seem that way.

I think that they are very different in the settings but their interface is the same cause they are all basedon the aosp project. If you want to see the differences search videos read the Rom posts or just download them and try them both....
