Wondering how good the Omap processor is.
I got this with a crappy sd card, remember that it is writing a full hd screen, makes graphics a little slow.

If you google "Omap 4470 Benchmark", you'll find some results. anandtech has a few articles on the processor, including fairly full results via the Archos 101 XS which uses the 4470.

Some benchmarks I ran on my Nook HD.

Hi all
On of my friends has miui running on his htc desire. As well all know both desire and milestone on stock roms does not have very good i/o. But on his desire with an ext3 partition had a beastly i/o. I mean really beastly. His i/o was the same as his processor score pushing the quadrant total way past 2000. So why is the i/o on miui so fast? Is it because of that i/o performance patch on miui? And can us milestone/droid users share the supercharged i/o love

What do you mean by I/O? Input/Output? Which Input? Which Output? SDCard I/O? User interaction?
Please be more specific

I think he might mean UI..
Nope I mean i/o input output. And this is based on the quadrant benchmarks and I can't get my head around how his i/o score is over 1000.

Depending on which ROM you have, you can get over 1000 in Quadrant. I was able to on Cronos 1.3.0, FroyoMOD 2.7.0 and iceandfire 2.2
How? I'm on iceandfire too but me I/o isn't that high and I have working ext3 on my SD card

What scores do you get? With Quadrant, you need to run it about 3 times to get a fully consistent result.
I get about 250-3300

Oops. That's meant to be 250-300

What's your overclock?
At 1100 I get 1000 minimum... on CM6 I'd get about 1500 alot
Its set at 1.1ghz normal voltage.

First of all, Quadrant sucks. Let's start by clearing that up.
You can cheat, especially with the I/O score. Here is how:
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-cheat-android-benchmarks
Now, if you want scores:
With CM7 and 1GHz, I get 1000.
With CM6 and 1.1GHz I used to get 1450.
Nice cheat heh
300 is freaking low tho

I think my quadrant is a lil messed up seeing as how the 3d benchmark doesn't work properly on gb-they are just white polygons :L

I just downloaded quadrant standard and I ended up getting only 1000 in total and my fps rating in the 3d section seems to be lower

And babis is cm6 any good? What's gaming performance and memory management like

I love cm612
Memory management is good with minfree tweaks to bump up free ram a bit.

What about gaming and battery life?
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
I really can't say, as I don't use Milestone for gaming. Only for Angry Birds, and it can be played on every ROM I've tried.
The other day I installed Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden and it plays well on CM7, so I guess it would play just fine on CM6.
First,sorry for my bad english.
In the quadrant benchmark 3d test, the Planet and DNA performance is very bad,it worse than the moto milestone 2 which use the same cpu gpu.
Anyone know how to fix it?

Its due to very poorly optimizes driver by samsung.unless some dev step up and make new driver and kernel there is no hope.

I was messing around with Quadrant yesterday and looked at the system info selection after running the app a couple of times. I noticed that Quadrant only recognizes the Droid Bionic as having a single core, does anyone know why that would be.
Cause Quadrant is dumb, and useless, and is only optimized for one core.
That being said, I still try to get higher scores each time....
H obey comb is the only android is which currently recoginizes and uses both cores.
ICS is bringing multicore and multiple thread support.
OMAP4 was chosen on nexus prime because it is the only multiple hread processor on the market.

Interested in keeping this thread alive to see if there is a benchmark program for our Dual Core machines.

I've read Quadrant only recognizes the Xoom's dual core processor at this time. I'm not confident in the source, so feel free to investigate further.

Did you not read my last post.
Dual core implementation is a limitation of gingerbread.
Honeycomb is the only android OS that allows apps to use both cores.
ICS is sopose to bring that feature to smartphones.

Aka I have a dual core processor phone that only uses 1 core due to the OS.....awesome. Going to have to research that a bit.
What do you think? Will those games run on tegra 2 at acceptable framerate? For transformer prime its 1024000 pixels vs 384000 for 2X. Maybe option to lower graphic settings.. if not i think it would be stupid move from nvidia and developers to throw away tegra 2 owners..
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda premium
I'm pretty sure Tegra 2 will be able to run Tegra 3 games, and hopefully someone will hack them to run ot T2 (chainfire?).There is still plenty of juice in Tegra 2, and i didn't see it's full potential (Only Shadowgun is serious, but i don't think it fully utilitizes 2 cores).
Yup few days ago ive tried to run it underclocked at 615mhz silky smooth.

My guess is that tegra 2 would run anything tegra 3 polygon wise, but with reduced shaders quality/lightning/shadows.

Dead trigger can be played with full effects on our phones even tho it was a t3 req for highest quality setting in game...and it can run nova 3 also with full effects and i read somewhere that they got sonic4 running and thats a t3 exclusive

As it is possible to use tegra games on non tegra devices it shoud work.

Nova 3 lags like hell with full effects. T3 version of sonic was lagging too on t2. Sonic 4 is not t3 exlusive anymore.

Hi, I was testing my phone specs and I just downloaded quadrant I dont know if my phone has a double core proccesor or just one core
see the pictures
Please see the pictures I can't post link meh
Use cf benchmark. Its more reliable. Besides, quadrant doesnt recognise dual core afaik.
