Hey,
like a week ago i noticed that my cheap in ear headset will loose it's connection sporadic on my way to university. I thought it would be broken as they never used to work longer than 6 months, but then i discovered it affects EVERY headphone i use on the razr i.
I am really disappointed cause it is that tough-built, now one of the functions i use most is broken. When you turn the AUX pin, ou can see the headset icon disappear and about a second later the sound stops. Often the headset isn't even recognized, then the sound will be played on the razr i's speaker.
Does anyone else have this problem? As the stock launcher freezes the widgets, i am really angry that the phone i bought to be reliable already has it's second malfunction, this time not software based.
I am from germany, so my english is not perfect. Forgive me
I use the AUX nearly every day in my car at work, so far no problem.
But had this problem with my milestone, after three replacements I just gave up and bought a Bluetooth device.

Unfortunately, there is no bluetooth for in ear phones ... i guess you would loose them in 1 day. When i'm outside, i don't want big headphones, i was so happy the first time i tried in ear headphones. I plugged in headphones in my old DHD like 3-5 times a day, but the port never broke. But anything else on the phone was, lol ..
So i guess i will have to send it in.. Will be a nice experience as i got it with a contract by an online reseller for BASE, which is already behind in terms of signal strenght and service, compared to the "big ones" in germany.
There are a lot Bluetooth devices to which you can connect any headphones you want.
I use the Sony MW600 for example, they even come with in-ears.
But I would send the phone in anyway.

Hi,
I have a very weird problem with my Tytn II, which I bought little over a week now.
People I was talking to complained they didn't hear me very good, the sound appeared to drop. It occured to me that it was happening when I used the speaker (handsfree) of the phone.
I did some testing, and this is what happens:
I (with the Tytn II) call person X, and when I and person X are talking together, person X cannot hear me, the sound on his side simply fades to nothing, until 1 of us keeps quiet. The same happens when for example sound from my car is picked up by the phone, thus resulting in the device not being usable in the car, since there's always some noise. I however on my side keep hearing person X, it's person X that doesn't hear me.
It happens with 2 sim cards, everyone I call, did a hard reset, HTC support doesn't know the problem...
I'm puzzled. Can anyone suggest anything? Or is it faulty?
Thanks
no, mine does the same thing. I got it a few days ago and when i used speaker while driving, i could hear the other person perfect, but they cant seem to hear me. It feels like half duplex. i hope this is fixable
Damn, it seems widespread then...?
Anyone who can test it?
maybe it has to do with whatever noise cancelling algorithm is in effect is mucking everything up

Meaning that every single device would have this, and thus mine not being faulty?
I had the same problem but remembered that there was an automatic sound function which turns down the volume when talking is too hard and turns it up when to soft. Its called microphone agc and you can find it under system configuration. Now that it's turned off my dutch htc tytn II works fine in handsfree mode. Hoop this helps you also

It's already turned off :-( .
However, I just called with HTC, and they said it's because of the mic and the speaker being too close to each other, and thus it compensates.
They say every model has it however, they did a test today and the result was that it was a feature, not a bug...
Anyone here who does not have it on his device?
I have this problem all the time, both on speaker and just using the phone to my ear as normal.
People complain I am very quiet or that the sound is choppy and I sound like a robot
I used to have this problem on the O2 XDA IIs a few years ago.
Anyone else have it too? I'd like to know asap if this device is faulty, or if it's normal?
Sometimes, it seems that when I'm holding it to my ear, the sound seem to drop on the other side too...
I have exactly the same problem. People have trouble hearing me with loudspeaker switched on. Without speaker they can hear me perfectly.
I have the same problem too. Just try to disable the Microphone AGC thing and it fixes the problem. Thanks downnootje.
I have teh same problem , but I tried something and it is improved the Operation , try to minimize the Speaker volume to the minimum level and then it improes a little and it works for me ; not all the time but that is what we can do at the moment
I'm convinced now that it's a mojor problem.
Mine even got worse: since yesterday, it's happening without handsfree too, people can't almost hear me when I just hold it to my ear...
Is this a phone still, or can't it be used as such?
try enableing Microphone AGC thing, restart phone, and disable it
Me too. Juz got my set 2 days back. The other party hears my voice intermittently chop-off...
I have faced the similar problem on a particular China-made TV phone too. Tested two other units of the same model still the same. It seems to me the phone design issue, as after I changed to another model of China-made TV phone, the problem solved.
Sigh! Already got this expensive phone, think have to bear with this feature then if it is really cannot be resolved by new ROM.
same problem
i have the same problem...with my 8525 when I was on the train or in a similar noisy situation i never had any trouble with people hearing me on the other end...with the tilt i can't even carry on a conversation on the train...i called tech support and they told me to swap it out for a new one.

I've tried that and it doesn't help! Quite sad about it. I need to use speaker handsfree especially during driving.... Don't really like to hook-up the headset or BT headset... too messy for wired headset and too tedius (charging) for BT headset...
Now that I know its half duplex it works pretty well in the car - I just wait for the other person to stop talking
Surur
I will be sending mine to HTC for a planned hardware fix as they agreed there is a defect that affects all kaiser and tilts, but NOT the MDA VARIO III. this is a known issue and is hardware related. Good news for those who havent purchased one yet. I will sell mine on ebay if they dont asign me a RA soon. I rather have the MDA VARIO III as it has 2 cams.
(doesnt your HTC TYTN2 has 2 camera's?)
Same problem here. Hope for a sollution soon!
Will call HTC too soon, so theyll have more complaints about this defect.
Not quite the "5min music lag" issue, but seems to be BT problem -
When hooking up the Moto S9 or Sony DR-BT22 headphones, the Diamond seems to have a problem streaming music to them. It stutters often (erratically but on average every few seconds), and depending where I place the phone it loses contact even though it's only parts of my body in the way.
Now, I'm not made of lead, so this shouldn't be an issue. Indeed on the Kaiser - that huge monster of a phone ;-) - it isn't, so what's wrong with the BT on the damn Diamond?
I've tried the 25.05 and 25.18 radios and same effect.
Anyone else having this annoying issue? I had to send the Motos back because they were sh1te unless I held the phone behind my head! (The suplier said the unit wasn't faulty)
Frustrated Ferg.
OK, I'm guessing its not just me, but when my G1 is in my pocket, and I have the headphones connected(this only happens with the headphones in), it will randomly jump to different tracks, pause, stop, and pretty much be useless. I didn't have a clue my G1 could even do this, so how do I stop it? I genuinely had no idea what was happening until I started flicking my phone and realised it was controlled by the a motion sensor. It makes my music player pretty much useless though!
Thanks.
I am having the same problem. first Tmo rep replaced the phone thinking that the usb connection was compromised, but the same thing is happening with the replacement phone. tried several pair of headphones, and I have two adapters that both do it. Its the adapter. the wires must be cheap... its under HTC warranty, so the tmo rep is sending me another.
Yeah is a problem with your headphones if you got the phone before tmo started to include the adapters or the adapter if you just recently bought th ephone. I had it happen with the original headset I had and an adapter that i was using for a while. havent' had any trouble wth the new adapter that i have. My brother bought the phone and doesn't use the wired headset so he gave me his new headphones and now it works great.
I have the same problem both with my headphones and when using the 3 in 1 connector in my car, really frustrating, no issues with Tune Wiki but can't use that as the player will just randomly start anyway, tried 2 hard resets. Phone didn't do this for the 1st month or so, I don't see how it can be the connector.
Does it work?
I am new to this phone, however i tried turning the phone in all direction, plus shaking it, my music player would not change song. May i know is there a option to activate the motion sensor?

no. not untill someone develops an app that can handle using the motion sensor to change track, which i'm sure is very possible. It is not an option in the standard player, or any player available atm. (as far as i know)
Hi everyone,
Haven't posted here in years!
Recently decided to stop buying HTC phones and got myself a Nexus 6. Apart from needing a new SIM due to loads of signal problems it's been great!
One little niggly thing though. Is there supposed to not be a headphone icon when you plug some in? I've never seen this within Android before. Mine also doesn't recognise the MIC on my HTC ear buds. Is this normal? Bit miffed that Google/Motorola were too stingy to include some earphones. :-/
Everything is stock apart from Nova Launcher.
Cheers
Just for clarity, earphones do actually work! Just no icon and doesn't recognise the mic.
There is no headphone icon, no
Hello,
I am new to this community so please don't be to harsh on me if somebody allready asked this question (Didn't find anything using the search though).
I own a 2015 P8 lite, using the Basic 608 Rom right now, but had the same issue with all other custom and stock roms that I've tried.
I am using my phone as a music player while jogging or exercising and i have some connectivity/bandwidth issues.
I keep losing the data connection to my headphones while listening tu some MP3. It seems that the BT connection between the devices is still online,
but no data is going through. This seems to be related to the distance between phone and headset,
but the direction the P8 lite faces and the angle seem to matter as well.
That wouldnt be much of an issue, if this would not happen at close range, (I'd even say closest range).
For example, i hold my phone in my right hand and the music would stop playing every time my arm swings back ,
where the distance is less than a yard... Quite annoying...
So here is the question...
Does anybody else have this or a similar problem? How did you solve this?
Or am I probably just facing the fact that my devices Bluetooth is broken?
is maybe even my music player (WinAmp) the reason for this?
(can't be the headset, because it happend with other sets as well while the set work perfectly on other devices)
This is one of the most used functions on my device, I'd appreciate some help here...

Bluetooth isn't made for motion transmitting, that's why almost everyone just put down their phones and send files via Bluetooth. As you may know, Bluetooth is an old thing, and it has alot of disadvantages. Try using another music player, like poweramp, or install viper4android. You didn't said whenever your Bluetooth speaker is a box with speaker or eardrums. The devices Bluetooth capabilities is the same as Galaxy S6 etc use, so that's not a problem. Maybe your speaker receiver is bad, or you bought something cheap with improvised Bluetooth. For now, just change the music player, try the sound whitout moving and than give us another feedback. Little to no chances that p8 lite is the fault here.
I did a little testing yesterday. I used 4 different music players, they all showed the same behaviour, so I guess it is not connected to them. All had these "dropouts" like the bandwith is minimized. I found out that this is not a motion issue but connected to position ans maybe angle. sometimes all I have to do is turn my head a little an the music would stop. It comes back when I move my head back to old position. if I weren't at very close range to the phone it say it is a distance thing, but it seems more like some kind of shielding... I guess i have to lend my wifeys phone and try whats going on then.. Oh, and I am speaking of In-Ear-Headphones

Than, the only remaining solution is to try your eardrums with another phone or p8lite with another eardrums. I don't really believe the phone is the problem here.

So i did a little testing with the MotoG3 and the HTC One M7. Both connected to my headset and showed the same behaviour.
Seems like I need a new headset, the issue is not caused by the smartphone(s)
Thanks for your help...

Told you... Before you buy, check with the P8 lite if the new headset is working how it should.
facing the same problem, BUT the headset work as a charm with different android phones!
In my case it was definitely the headset itself, bougth me a new, different one and everything ist fine now.
