So I actually posted a thread detailing how to restore the Streak 7(Wifi only) back to stock. I put it into general in the main forum instead of under the streak 7 forum. So I am placing this here to lead to that post.

so i used this method on my US 4g model... and it worked with exception of the backspace button ( <- arrow button) not working.. even asked and recognized a simple mobile sim then asked for a network unlock
but i would like to upgrade to HC... and the wifi updates do not come to the 4G models...
so im going to try install CWM from market and try the "Official-HC-Stage1" and "Official-HC-Stage2" zips and see how this works out
well, the install seems fine so far.. just experiencing the crashing of the android.process.acore issue

Hi, I'm having a problem with my Touchpad 32GB. I'm having problem with the CM9 2012/11/18 build. I've installed it, but after a few minutes of use, it resets on me. I've done it a few times, same problem. I've restore it back to webos 3.0 using this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426244 and I've tried installing it again, but I still get the same problem.
The files that I have in the cminstall folder when I started are:
moboot_0.3.5
update-cm-9-20121118-NIGHTLY-tenderloin
update-cwm_tenderloin-1012
And when I run the novacom command, I'm using the ACMEInstaller2.
Can someone help me with this problem? Also, on a side note, which version of Android would be most stable?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I use the 11/18 nightly and it works fine for me.
Take a look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002968
It could help with your rebooting problem. I've been lucky, never have had that problem.
Make sure if you doctor back to 3.0.0 to update to 3.0.5. You can do it OTA.
Good luck.

Update:
Playing a sound didn't seem to work. There were some sounds played when I tap a button, but I also played a music button to be sure, but it still restarted on me after a few minutes.
Update 2:
I've restore my touchpad hopefully back to the way it was when I got it. Can someone give me some direction on what to use to install Android, hoping what I originally done caused some kind of problem.
I used acme installer 2.
I recommend using ACMEInstaller3. It will be necessary if you ever want to install Jelly Bean, so might as well do it now.

I dont remember where the setting is on CM roms, but if you go into settings, then they should have a cyanogenmod setting option, then performance I think. The min clock CPU speed is 192 I believe, I can't run anything below 384, and on some rom's I have to set the min at 432 or it will randomly reboot. Not saying this will solve your issue, I was just curious what your speeds were set to.
You can also use an app from the play store, such as kernel tuner or no frills cpu to set your speeds.

Just reinstalled CM9 on it using ACMEInstaller3. The min/max is 384/1188 MHz. This time, it was a little different. A few minutes in, I tried to turn on the WiFi and the screen gone blue. I restarted it and and up the CPU speed. It restarted in a few minutes, last longer this time. I wiped the both cache and did a fix permission, saw it in another post, and it restarted within the first 2 minutes after it boots into CM9.
let me start off with this is my first attempt at rooting a Droid. I have had a droid since the launch the droid1. Now, I have tried rooting my Droid 4 and I can not get it exactly to work. First I rooted it without the drivers. So I went through the process of getting them.. then I tried again. Nothing. It seems like it is doing the same thing each time, but when I download the RootChecker it consistently says that my phone is not rooted properly... I'm hoping I can get it done right so that I may move on to rooting my Samsung Tab2. Then after that I look forward to using su and safestrap, but i cant without a good root. help please
***Used jsnweitzel's method and D4 is updating binary as we speak. Thanks to all that helped! now it's time to get cm10 and root the Tab2

Again sorry for the noob post. this was probably too much info haha. but whatever can help figure this little problem out.
Yea that's the method I used also, I'm sorry but I just don't know what your problem would b, I guess the best thing to do would b to just start all over and make sure u have the latest moto drivers from there site and just give it another try. Good luck and let us know if u do any good.

You might also want to try a different method. I used the Droid 4 Utility ICS Only by jsnweitzel. It probably does the same thing but might be worth a shot. Using the same utility you could also try using the restore function to start fresh (one of the restore options allows you to not wipe data).

Did u ever get your problem solved? Hopefully u did because cm10 runs beautifully on the droid 4, well imo anyway. Let us know if u had any luck.

The ICS root tool and Jsnweitzel's are the same thing just packaged in an app so both would work. I also noticed that sometimes you have to download superuser from the market. After doing that open a program that requires root and then the prompt will appear asking if you want to give su permission. Grant it. Then go to superuser and update the binary.

I am going to try jsnweitzel's method now. I am just waiting for the download. i will let you guys now how it goes. but once that is done I will be looking to get cm10 (with the tip from adizzle23, thank you), however knowing myself I will run into problems with that as well but yes I will let you all know how this goes after it is all done.

Yeah it is updating in su right now.
Next step, like you were mentioning, is to get cm10.. hope that runs a little smoother. haha.
Well good luck and glad its workin out, but I do have to say that cm10 isn't perfect but its close, there are a few things that don't work. The camera flash doesn't work and mms has to be tweeked to get it to work, all u have to do is go into your message settings and turn auto retrieve off and it works fine, or u can use go sms pro app, and you lose webtop and I'm pretty sure hdmi doesn't work, I still use cm10 as my daily driver with no problems except the ones mentioned above and everything else works great, but that's the good thing about using safestrap because u can flash several roms and just flash back and forth from rom to rom until you find the one u like the most. So hope it all works out and just make sure u watch a how to video on youtube or something when learning how to use safestrap and flashing custom roms.

Would anybody mind uploading a zip file of their "/preinstall" system folder from their Droid 4? I'm missing some files from in there. Specifically the video files for the "Guided Tours" stock app. I must have deleted them a while back, and now I can't install the Jelly Bean OTA update.
I went back to stock, removed Safestrap and unrooted the phone to do the update. And when I go to do it, it gives me an error because those files weren't found. They don't seem to be in the Droid 4 Dump, so I guess I'm S.O.L. unless I can get them from somebody.
If I deleted those, I probably deleted something else from in there, so could you please send me the whole directory? I'd be happy to throw you a donation. Ten bones sound fair? Many thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for the fast reply!
Yeah, I think I did read something about those utilities in another post. I'm kind of iffy about going that route, because I've never used them before, and don't wanna like seriously mess up my phone. Was hoping to avoid it, but I guess it is what it is.
Alright, so is this the ICS Utility that I'm after?

Yes and yes. Just DL the utility and fast boot ICS file. Unzip ICS file and move files to the files directory of utility. Make sure latest drivers are installed and battery is full connect phone run utility select boot into fast boot then option 11. Choosing to save files still won't let u install the update. Went ahead and did it last night, and it worked! After using this to reset my ICS stock ROM, the OTA Jelly Bean Update installed just fine. Thanks a ton. I gotta say, this online community rocks! I love how helpful and supportive everybody is of each other.
One minor note, I had to do this on my roommate's Windows 7 computer to get it to work. I couldn't get it to work on either my laptop or desktop, both of which have Windows 8. The phone drivers wouldn't install. Strange; I downloaded the USB drivers from Motorola, and they appeared to install, but when I plugged my phone into the computer, and went to use the Utility, it kept giving me a "Device not found" error. And also, when I checked in "Device Manager," it showed my phone with an exclaimation point and said that the drivers weren't installed.
When I followed the same process on a Windows 7 computer, the drivers installed as soon as I plugged the phone in. Weird; Motorola's website said that the drivers were for Windows 7 and 8. I tried disabling "Signature Verification" on Windows 8, but that didn't work either. Anybody know if Motorola hasn't released Windows 8 drivers for Droid 4 yet? Just wanna know for future reference. Thanks a bunch.

First things first, thank you to all those who have made it possible to use my HP Touchpad with Android. I have 2 of them one which has ev_tenderloin-nightly-2014.11.22.zip and the other cm 11-20141020 unofficial. Now as far as updating goes usually the Ev tablet alerts me when there are new updates and I download them. For whatever reason I have been unable to install anything past the 2014.11.22 rom. It hasnt been an issue. When the update gave me errors I would restart go back in and reinstall the 2014.11.22 rom and go back to my usual. I was cleaning up my device and accidentally deleted the only rom that worked and now when I try to find and download it again it isnt around to be found. I had been using the ev updater and when I checked the website it doesnt seem to be available there either. i was wondering if anyone has that rom available or know where I can find it to download.
any help would be appreciated.
