Hi der,
I have flashed a minitab rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1968561 on my note . Everything is working very smoothly as it should be. It is really a greate rom, thanks to the developer. Since my note already have a back button and a menu button, I really dont want to waste my screen space on some so called navigation buttons. Its really anoying. I have tried to apply couple of solutions like editing the build.prop as it is suggested in the thread. But it seems not working. I really don care to loose the accessibility of the mini mode buttons from the navigation bar.
So somebody please help me with a real solution to either disable or to hide the navigation bar for this particular rom. Thanks in advance

If I understood your problem, you installed a ROM that works in tablet mode, showing you the menu, home and back keys on the bottom of the screen. To solve this you need to change the LCD density in build.prop: ro.sf.lcd_density. The default density of the Note is 320 dpi (ro.sf.lcd_density=320), what puts you in "phone mode", i.e. the bottom bar doesn't appear. Try changing that on your build.prop. Search the forum if you don't know how to do that, because a mistake could leave your device in a bootloop. Other options you have is to flash a different ROM.

Hi everybody!
I have been having such a kind of problem for quite a while with different ROMs and I was just wondering if there is any solution to overcome it. The problem appears when I launch some any full-screen application and after that open or close keyboard. The status bar with the start button appears on top of this application and it just disturbs me and dosn't allow me to use the controls on the top of the screen. Thanks a lot for reading and replying to this thread.
Moved as not ROM Development..
Sorry for putting the thread into the inappropriate section..
As the title suggests, I'm running AICP, which is pretty awesome BTW, but have noticed that when I use landscape mode in any app the buttons in the nav bar as missing. The bar is still there, but no buttons, and I cant even touch the spot were the button would be to get it to respond. Anyone else having this issue? I have re flashed the rom several times, fresh loads, as well as loading other roms inbetween, but still get nothing.
Suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Marc

Ever get this solved? I know this issue often occurs when you change your DPI to something small, I wish I knew what exactly caused it and how to fix.
Is there any way to add extra buttons to the nav bar in stock (.283) like you can in AOKP, Carbon, etc.? I don't even need all of them, just the last app button. There are some apps that do this by adding a floating button (LAS), but I want it on my nav bar. UDN doesn't work right, and doesn't let me customize the buttons for some reason. The only other way I've found is to decompile the SystemUI, but I'd rather not do something that risky if there's an alternative. I was on Carbon for a long time and I really loved this feature, but I need the battery life that stock gives. I've found Xposed modules for everything else I'm used to, this is the only thing missing. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

use gravity box and add custom key to get it!
:good:
I've tried that, and it's not suitable for several reasons. First off, GB causes layout problems in the recents panel, making the small apps inaccessible. No matter what I toggle, it doesn't go away unless I disable GB. Also, the button appears to the extreme side; I was hoping to get it as a main nav button, like in the custom ROMs.
Looks like I might have to decompile after all. Oh, well. Thanks for your reply, though!
I used this xposed module on sock 4.3 for modify navbar buttons:
Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons
I don't know is it working on 4.4 or not. I am using Carbon at the moment.

This is a known bug in the latest GravityBox version. Download the ”no_translucent_recent” version from this post.

You might not even need a separate button — with GravityBox you can assign actions to the long press of the “Recent Apps” button, and to the long press and double tap of “Back” and “Home” buttons. There is also the “Navigation Bar Ring” feature (you can add more actions than just Google Now).
@kanyazsombor
That module doesn't have a last app button. Thanks anyway!
@sigprof
Long press takes too long, and double tap on anything other than the recent key for a recent app feels... Wrong. Picky, I know, but still. I hadn't thought of using the nav bar ring targets, will try that as soon as I can, and the bug fix you mentioned. Thanks for your help!
Hello yours,
some apps displaying the menu key into the navigation bar. Some tweaking tools also offers an option to show these menu key generally. So far, so good. But when I touch on these button, the recent panel will be opened - every time. A restart changes nothing... I'm currently on V07.
Has anyone a solution for this?
On a german forum (android-hilfe.de) I found the same issue posted from another user, but these thread is still without any answers.
Many thanks in advance
Dan
It must be a bug in the official rom.
I use a tool called "menu button" in google play, it works well, if correctly configured (I do not show any menu, but I use the menu button in the notification bar of this app).
Waiting for a correction too.
I came across a post in a forum in my country. The baseline of the post is the following:
The touch problem for the menu and the task bar touch response not working anymore is sometimes thought to be related to software, as it seems in some cases that the unlock touch screen is responsive in the concerned area of the screen, or sometimes the touch screen is still working in the recovery wheras it is not in the ROM.
The forum post claims that using this ROM AIM , he regained full functionality of the navigation menu. To be sure of the relation, he reverted to another ROM with the same Kernel and lost the functionality again. Reinstalling the AIM ROM with the given Kernel the issue was resolved again.
He used a recovery after V3.0.0-0.
In his post he asked for the others in the thread to test this on their devices but no one did respond or tried out!?
It seems to me quite interesting and looking forward if someone else has the same outcome.
This is the link to the Post .
Meaning if the touch is navigation bar or status bar is still working in recovery, the aim ROM might be a possibility to live with.
I can confirm that the botton softbuttons do work with this rom, on oreo they didn't.
Top of the screen still not working, but simply fix by using nova launcher and gestures
