Nah, I don't think so. I'm in the same boat. Will have to wait for another exploit to get rooted.

Go ahead and try all day, all week, all month, and all year.
Once you're on the JB leak + OTA, there's currently no way to go back to ICS.

Can you not use RSDLite to reflash the ICS and start over afresh?

Did you lose root or just never rooted? If you lost root did you have voodoo OTA?

Were you using Voodoo OTA root keeper? If you did use Voodoo then there is a "possibility" of restoring root, I was able to restore root manually thanks to having a back-up of my SU binary file that was protected by Voodoo OTA rootkeeper. I lost my root while on the OTA of the jelly bean leak.
Please help!
Motorola Atrix HD (MB886) used Voodoo OTA RootKeeper upgrade from 4.04 to 4.1.1 JB via OTA. Root kept, until later however I clicked temporary un-root, but I cannot restore root back anymore!
Adb showing as:
C:\adb shell
[email protected]:/ $ su
su
/system/bin/sh: su: not found
Voodoo OTA shwowing as:
Status:
Superuser app installed[*]
Devide rooted [ ]
Root permission granted [ ]
/system support root protection[*]
Protected su copy available[*]
To sum up, it all started from I clicked "Temporary un-root", now I cannot get root back! Please need your help!

The easiest would be just to SBF the phone to stock, then take the update... OR try OTA Rootkeeper to backup root, temp unroot, take the OTA, then restore root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686911 This is a link to SBF files and one click (for 906, but has a link for 890 SBF).
OTA Rootkeeper is free in the market.
Is there a new way to obtain root from ICS to jb or is it the same one?

Voodoo OTA Root keeper.
(I'm trying to find steps too!)
I did the Voodoo OTA and still lost root
If u follow the instructions perfectly it should work.
Sent from my MotoAHD
I did, they were, root was still lost despite Voodoo telling me other wise. I'm going to play with adb and see what I find. Not everyone who has it fail, had it happen because they did not follow directions.
Can anyone link the instructions to do it properly.
Sent from my Motorola Atrix HD MB886
i did it properly and voodoo said it was still rooted, all the boxes were checked, but when i run a root app it crashes.. so no root.
If voodoo says you are still rooted, then you only lost partial root. The problem is with su binary file. There is a possibility of regaining root. Check out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048005 for a possible way of fixing root
Thread moved. Please post questions here in Q&A where they belong.

I have a rooted Attic HD "motofail"... The new jelly bean ota will download, copy, reboot, then fail to install. What's the problem?
You need to SBF ICS, you must've edited system files I guess?

Nope. I didn't modify any system files... What can I do?
You HAVE TO SBF ICS using RSD, then do the OTA. If you weren't rooted.
If you were, root after ICS flash, update Superuser app and binaries, use Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper to backup root and then do the update and restore root.

Exact same issue. Follow this link. Worked perfectly. I am now running ICS.

Hi jumper62!
You could try updating super user app or installing new binary from superuser/ info.
Also, you could try Superuser Update Fixer (free aplication from the market)
Just in case, perhaps you could try installing yor ROM again.
Good luck.
