[Q] Help Please, from 2.3.6 to JB - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I am on this:
Android version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: N7000XXLB2
Kernel version:[email protected] #2
Build number: CheckROM NoteHD V6
I don't know why but sometimes I (Vol Up+Home+Power) and is CWM 6 and sometimes CWM 5
I bought the phone a month ago it came with a 4.0 version (good one), I searched in here best ROMs (CheckROM came across) download it and now I have 2.3.6 version.
I have downloaded 4 different kinds of JB version from across the forums and none of them have work....
I am thinking I download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 the wrong Kernel version... I download XXLSC-XJB (JB Leak) I don't know if I have to use this XXLSA-XJB (JB Leak), or XXLS7-XJB (JB Leak), or any other I just download the first one.
Can anybody help me on how to instal the JB version of Android with CWM...
Thanks

are you just installing JB kernels on a GB rom? The phone wont even bootup
You need to install JB rom for a JB kernel to work.
there are a lot of JB roms in the Android Development section. Download and install using CWM. Read the procedure in the ROM thread.

Flash PhilZ kernel (Philz Safe Kernel 3.73 for XXLSC )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
Reboot recovery in to PhilZ kernel then you can make a full wipe and flash the JB of your choice. I recommend Ultimate Rom.

Cassie's xtraLIite v11.1 AROMA and v6 supercharger scripts and way you go + lots more but that will came for u whenu want...
Flash kernel, rebot into recovery, wipe all, flash rom, reboot (might be good to fix premission in advance)

You can search for ultimate jb rom. Also you need to install hydracore kernel. I was able to install it and it works like a charm.

First I would recommend flashing an official Samsung ICS ROM with Odin. Then flash a safe kernel with CWM (ex. Speedmod or Hydracore), also through Odin or Mobile Odin. Once with a safe kernel, reboot into recovery, wipe everything using my guide below, then flash the JB ROM of your choice (put it in your external SD card before). I recommend Ultimate JB XXLSC.

Recommended is flashing CM7/MIUI first (which you can do directly on your current rom) and then flashing one of the ICS roms..
but you can flash them directly too.. just do a wipe all and flash and if you get in bootloop flash again.. (as the CWM recovery version changes so flashing once when on new recovery is required I think)..

Note: you flash at your own risk! There are no guarantees!
The accepted route is to flash xxjvu (although I went from jw4). It is important to avoid going straight to JB. First, flash an ICS rom. Then flash a JB rom. On the Slimrom site it suggests flashing cm9 http://slimroms.net/index.php/installation/slim-bean and then Slim Bean.
I went from 2.3.6 jw4 to RemICS-UX (ICS) and then to Remics-JB (JB). Choice of custom rom is very much a matter of taste, and my current rom is in fact based on Slim Bean.
From what I've read, the gt-i9000 is pretty resilient. And if things go wrong, one can usually recover by flashing a gb or stock rom with odin.

Upgrading a rooted Galaxy Note! Need some help!

I have this Samsung galaxy Note gt-n7000. I rooted it with a new kernel AbyssNote 4.2 that even installed the CWM 5.8. It has the stock ROM 2.3.5 and i wanna update it with an official ROM from Samsung. Will there be any problem or the Official 4.0.4 Rom will just remove the root and the custom kernel?
I will install the official ROM with Odin
With Odin, you will lose root and your custom kernel.

When you flash with odin the root will be lost. After flashing your new 4.0.4 stock rom you can flash a rooted kernel via odin.
just check this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 and follow the instructions carefully!
All credits go to chainfire for his amazing job!

[Q] Kernel Options on Super Nexus ROM!!!

I had ICS 4.0.4 Rooted with Philz (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270) Kernel and CWMR.
Today I flashed SuperNexus - N7000 - BUILD 5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1915302) Later I booted recovery and noticed I have Lost Philz Touch Recovery. Tried to find Philz Kernel for JB which matches my Baseband Version XXLRB but could not find any. Any suggestions please?
Hi, Philz kernels are only for TouchWiz ROMs, such as stock sammy and the JB leaks, Supernexus is an AOSP based ROM and Philz hasn't got any kernels for them. There is no "need" to flash a new kernel.
