i was looking for good backup solution for battery of my S5830i ,cause in high rate my phone drain in 4 hrs
so i came up with solutions :
1- buy another backup battery ,and keep it with me ,when battery inside the phone goes empty ,i replace it with the full charged one
2- buy bigger size mah like 2680 mah bigger than the original one 1350 mah and same size of the original battery
3- buy power Pack with usb socket ,so i can charge my battery when it drains
4- buy a backup battery case can setup the mobile inside it
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i came with this solution it's 2 AA battery rechargeable with USB , it's small , cheap and easy to carry, it's backup battery for my phone
i bought it and test it , it take 8 hrs to recharge the 2 AA battery 2100mah
and it charge my S5830i in 2-3 hrs over 50% ,i tested it when my phone was empty 0 %
so it's good solution for me
i wish this solutions will interest ppl like me who get crazy when the battery empty while he is using the phone
any more ideas guys ,please share with me

I dont use extra battery, but keeping my screen brightness at 25-30% helps. And using software like juice defender and cpu tuner definately helps me.

The power referred to is storage capacity in milliamp hrs. A higher figure means it lasts longer not that it may damage. A higher voltage is what could damage your phone. The larger mah figure is the equivalent of a jug vs a glass

so u mean to say that it's safe to use higher power battery.!!??
all i have to do is to make sure that the new battery has the same voltage rating as the older one !!

Yes it will say what phone the battery fits. More mah is more time. On the subject of the thread I use a charger I got for a few pounds that takes an aa battery.living in the city I'm always close to a shop selling them.

when i opened the back cover of the phone and removed the battery,
there was a sticker having model and rating and other no. !!
the rating was 3.7 V and 1100mA
but the battery is rated 1350mA !!!
i don't get this...!!! is it safe ??!
sorry if it's a dumb question..
do u still recommend using higher mAh value even when the phone is rated at 1100mA ??

it's ok ,we all here to know what unknown
i read this too
mA is milli ampere
mAh is Milli Ampere per hr
1st you have to know there is different of 1100mA as the Current to charge
2nd that 1350 mah as the Capcity of the Battery
so there is huge different in between
i have bring my multimeter and find out the following that out orginal Charger only take 510 mA to charge the device in 2 hr and half
and also test the USB cable it takes 427 mA to charge the device in more than 3 hrs
anyway the 1100mA i think is the max current that can device handle ,more than that it will damage the circuits in the phone
so take care when u buy a charge that have 1100mA max ,better like the orginal one is 700mA max

mAh = milliAmp hours
IANAEE (electronic engineer) but basically it is a measure of how much energy can be stored within the battery. Think of the number as a measure of how long the battery would run for at a constant draining current of 1mA *or* how quickly you'd have to take power from the battery to drain it completely in one hour.
In other words, using the example above, an 1800mAh battery would last ~20% longer than a 1500mAh.
If your battery would normally last 10 hours, it would now last 12 hours.
As for the original question of info on it / whether this qualifies as 'ultra-high capacity' you'll need to ask someone more familiar with batteries than I am
So has anyone got any experience with the extended battery? Worth the punt?

I'm really interested!
1800mAh won't probably make that much of a difference for Optimus. Optimus has one of the largest batteries for a phone of its kind. 1500mAh itself is pretty high capacity.
I really don't think the extra 45$ is worth the extra 300mAh. You are better off buying an external portable charger. They run at around 20-30$. You could probably get an excellent one for 45$.
For example, this one here,
http://www.amazon.com/New-Trent-IMP...8PTS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307017732&sr=8-1 has a 5000mAh battery.
Just get any portable USB charger.
What do you think about this battery: 2430MAH HIGH CAPACITY GOLD BATTERY FOR LG GT540 (look for it at ebay)
Is it even possible to have that much mAh?
Edit: Just look at the user rating, and this battery seems to be fake. The stock battery is better.
That must be fake. The highest capacity I have seen is 1800mAh but it's only 300mAh higher than the stock.

What apps do you have installed/are you using?
well according to the voltage you either have it over clock or you need to turn the voltage down. and you should check what cpu governer its set too. by the looks of thing it spends most of it time at idle so its problably set to performance, so set it to ondemand
Im facing this when i connected to the wifi.
I over clocked my ram using devil kernel.. governor was on lulzactive
i changed it to ondemand

A fully charged battery is around 4200mV i actually get that same amount when fully charged(4196mV) just hit the calibration button and use ur phone normally til 1-10% and charge again and see if it goes up to 100% if it doesnt, i think u just have to live with it.. i had that same problem some months back and just lived with it cause it didnt really bother me. Nowadays it charges to 100%, i recon i didnt do anything special to make it work so maybe urs will start to work with time
Oh..i see,i make a research thru net and found out the battery power for normal user would be 1500 mah and the other hand for advance user they would get a 3500 mah batt power. So should i choose to change it?Usually i do work with my phone so it is botherin me tho.I charge my phone for atleast 4 hours to see how the power would drain the batt without having a wifi/bt and some other bg process,I was shock when after i plug out the charger my batt drain 1% after 1% within a second! How fast is that??!My Galaxy W didn't face the same tho..This is some kinda magic or what?!..It is so irritating me..

Yeah, i use my mobile data on my laptop and the battery drains fast with wifi hotspot on, i always have it plugged in a charger when using it as the network for my laptop otherwise the battery drain is just crazy.. u could buy a 3500mAh battery but ur phone will turn into a hideous brick! cause the battery is so big, thats why i bought the PolarCell battery , its the same size than stock but 300mAh more battery charge. But if u use ur phone alot and ur not satisfied on the juice u get out of a smaller battery , i think the 3500mAh is the way to go
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51DFBIUCaxL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
As u can see, u will need a new back cover(that usually comes with the battery 3500mAh) since the batteries physical size is double the size of a stock one

While usinge my Galaxy S i9000 for two years now i noticed sometimes the battery lasts (ordinary daily usage presumed) only arround 12 hours, so i tried to find a battery with a higher capacity.
The battery shipped by Samsung only had 1500mAh and after a while you could buy 1800mAh batteries with the same dimensions (i got some from Polarcell made in Germany)
1800mAh means you got a 20% higher capacity IMHO this means 20% longer time to use until charging
relating to the presumed 12hours of lifetime this means 2.4hours this is ok if you charge the phone over night and sleep 8 hours
Coming to the 9070 now!!!
i tried to find some bigger batteries for the advanced. i found some 1650mAh batteries, but i first tried to push my old battery in my new phone .
As you can see on the attached file 1 its only 1mm difference between the two batteries and so the battery didnt fit into the phone. But ive got more than just 1 battery.
So i removed the piece of plastic at the bottom of the battery and the foil around it and voila:
With a little pressure i pushed the battery into the phone
this is just a tip for anyone who needs 20% more capacity and doesnt find such a big battery
Thats dangerous mate..
LOL, I tried it with my i9003 battery and had the same problem like you, I tried to force it but I think it may damage the plastic

edit2: yeah both batteries contain a smaller aluminium battery i removed the body of my original i9000 and i9070 batteries ...

Hello mate. I use Mugen Power 3500mAh battery for my I9070. I am very satisfied with it. I mostly use my phone for web browsing , ROM installing and occasional gaming. With the sammy's battery(1500mAh) it barely lasts 18 hours on heavy use.
But with this new battery it lasts well over a day(atleast 30-32 hours) on heavy use. I use cocore kernel and set the charging voltage to 600mA, default. Anything above this will overheat your phone. Also I lowered the usb charging to 400mA.
Overall I am satisfied with this battery.
Thank you for your answer. I believe that your battery is of higher capacity since it's really bigger, but problem is the battery I'm talking about is of SAME volume as original 1500mAh. I'm wondering how have they achieved that (if they did at all), maybe they removed some security parts in order to put more li-ion compound

I think below part of the sammy's 1500mAh battery is made of hard plastic and can be cut and shrinked without affecting the usability.
So the 1800/2450 mAh extended batteries use that space and obtain better capacity without compromising on safety. Anyway good luck.

I've been using the Polarcell battery for about 2-3 months and batterylife is very good, 3g, wifi, pdf, call, pics, whatzapp, fb usage all day long Yeah, it depends what rom and kernel, but in general it is very good (used on HarshJelly and CarbonKitKat)
So After using my stock battery for 3 years, I thought it was high time and should be buying a battery.....
My Analysis :-
On Stock Rom, it is perfect and I use Battery Extender Kernel andgives me about 4 days of medium usage
On Cm7 Roms it gives me abt 2 days with medium usage
I dint try on Cm9 and Cm10.1 but I hope that it wud be lower that CM7
I bought it at RS 500 from Samsung Retail Store and it is stock 1350 MaH battery and I am really Happy with it
how much is the power rating of stock ace battery ? 1200mah ?

Is there any "working" battery for the ace out there with more than 1350mah? My battery lasts 1-2 minutes with screen on,I think it's pretty damaged xD

I took a battery 2100 MaH, on ebay. I don't know if it's a real 2100 MaH battery, but, i'm sure that the battery is 2x more long ! I can use my phone during 5-6 days.
It is a pretty old thread, anyway... Samsung is using very good batteries, if you want to go on a budget buy a third party battery, some are a near the same as the samsung only less epensive BUT it will not be of a higher capacity than the original... why ? Because the "energie density" of the Samsung batteries is certainly one of the best on the market. Meaning that a third party company is not able to create, within the same "enveloppe", "sized space" a battery with a higher capacity. That is simple as that. (with the same technology of course).
Of course after many years you can replace an old battery with one that can be of a higher capacity .. cause the technology has evolved. (not always possible)
Battery not last longing.
I bought new original samsung battery 6 months before, but now its not giving me desirable output. It only lasts a whole day only if data is not connected whole time and only few number of calls are made or attended. I am frustated now. Need help.
Try ERD battery. Is good and decent. Its Indian battery and price about 250. Find in Google.

There's no official fast charge ROM support available for Galaxy Note.
You can increase the charge speed my optimizing your battery performance. Most Samsung phones take 3-4 hrs for charging depending on the phone state.
Make sure you clear all apps before keeping your phone for charging as any running app can eat up the battery. Look up for any suspicious apps which may be eating up battery.
Use CPU spy to make sure that your phone is going imto deep sleep while charging, if not there's a malicious app which is keeping up the phone awake or there's problem with the ROM you're using.
Also check that your phone is not getting heat up while charging, as it could mean a great power loss which could highly affect the charge time.
If nothing works try changing ROM.
Or at the last case if you are a regular ROM chamger then try to clear up battery stats through some app available from play store which requires root.
One more issue which I once encountered was with my charger cable being faulty( although no signs of physical damage) and I changed it with a locally bought cheap cable and miraculously my phone stopped heating and charged faster.
The more you care for your device, the better it gets.

I checked my 2 Notes, max current it draws is limited by the charging circuit. Seems no kernel can change that value in the Note.
It charges max at 1 Amp, no matter if you attach it to a charger that can deliver like maybe 1000 Amps, the max current is 1 Amp.
That 1 Amp is also until it reaches about 90% ... since Li-Ion is very picky and actually dangerous when overcharging they slow it down.
It's a statement that I hear often in the wrong context : I bought a new battery and it takes very long to charge. Actually that is a sign that the battery has a big capacity. You can only take what you give.
Of course the charger and cable are very important. I would advice everyone to buy one of those usb charger doctors. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451375
Dirt cheap and you know what is going on.

Hope I have helped you.
