It may be a good idea to list them in one place. For sure it would help me decide if I want to upgrade or not. If there is a list already let me know and I will delete the thread.
Updated list:
- Overscan option in Settings -> Display
- Selection of audio output device when HDMI is connected
- Mass Storage option in USB computer connection
- Live Icons
- Sleep Mode option in Power Menu
- Timer
- Move to SD card in Settings -> Storage -> Manage Internal Storage
- Google Play Music Widget on the lock screen
- Music option for Alarm Sound
I'm not sure how to put it more concisely, but the context menus that come up when you swipe over certain icons (Calendar, Browser, etc.) are disabled.
No sleep mode on power menu. Anyone notice better camera quality?

Mass storage setting is definitely gone. That sucks. And I don't notice any improvement in the camera.

I don't know how to say it gone is the red tint gone? I know its not just my phone cause some of the reviews actually talk about the colors being off on this phone.

No more timer, it's just alarms now. I used the timer daily...
Camera's no better, and if I'm not mistaken, aren't we supposed to have photosphere? Or is that 4.2 functionality?

What is the reason for removing mass storage? I can't see all the files in my internal SD anymore in only media mode :/ I know there are PC and Play Store file managers but mass storage was pretty convenient.

Google removed it from the OS. I think that was done in ICS, but Motorola put it back. Motorola is evaluating the items removed for possible inclusion in a future update.

Coming a Lumia 920, nothing else on the market comes close to actually giving you good low light photos without a lot of noise. I know the premium suite upgrade on the Galaxy S 3 allegedly gives you better low light shots but that's a bit of a stretch.

Just simple paranoia. lol I thought the same thing at first. But yes, unplugging the usb cable safely removes it from your computer. It will not do any long term damage.

Hey guys, didn't know if anyone has seen this yet but Winamp just released an app that's pretty nice. It even has a Lock Screen app and Wi-fi syncing to your pc. I think it is still considered beta but it seems pretty polished so far.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/winamp/com.nullsoft.winamp
Here's a blog with some good info and screenshots too:
Here
I installed it and works great except the wifi sync. I cannot get the Desktop Winamp beta to discover it. I am using the Winamp 5.59 beta which is required. But under devices, I click "Start Discovery" and absolutely nothing happens. Like it is not even trying to discover. And I do have WiFi sync enabled in the phone. Allshare works to connect to my PC so I know the connection can work.
Anyone else tried this with Captivate? Does it work for you? Any tips to make the Wifi sync work?
I got wifi sync to work but it has some serious issues regarding duplicating songs, etc

haven't tried the wifi sync but this music app is the shiz!! was using Doubletwist before..not anymore!
love the interface. able to create playlists with ease and the notification bar-like pulldown screen is genius
I can't see my music by Artist/Song with Winamp, but i can with Search option.. I've synced with Windows Media Player..

I would be happy just getting it to connect USB or WiFi but no go. Did you do anything special to get the connection to work?
For those with WiFi issues, are you sure you have the proper ports open in your firewall? (Just a guess, but that's typically the reason people have trouble connecting to their PC's on networked devices)
The app is quite nice so far, I like the lock screen widget and the launcher widget is nice as well, it has a good look to it and the style almost fits in perfectly with the Launcher Pro widgets.
So far, so good!
Copy to SD card
Anyone figured out how to set the Winamp default to copy music to the SD card? Right now it just dumps the files into the root directory. I checked the Winamp forums and some seemed to suggest there was a way to do this in the Winamp settings. I tried, but couldn't find the option the fix mentioned. I'm wondering if the whole sdcard/sd set up Samsung did on the Captivate will cause problems with Winamp finding the actual sd card?

I can't even connect via USB. I started a thread at WinAmp Forums. Many people with same issue:

Post there if you are having issues so the developers can see it.
One annoyance for me is the auto mounting feature present(mistakenly blamed dg's latest Cognition ROM because of it). I suppose it's a nice feature if one mainly sync music most of the time.

You can turn this feature off in the options (in fact if you look at the settings in Winamp, it's the first option)
I just want to be able to make a play-list on my computer then transfer all the songs PLUS the play-list to my phone. Is there any way to do this?

i've been working on that, it's been a lingering issue. but on my last 4 boots with install it's been there.
Just loaded it on and everything works as it should. Even put Apex on so now I have either MIUI launcher or stock launcher!
Although I'm having problems with root permission and the keyboard doesn't do as well as correcting like the AOKP ICS build
**Sorry didn't see the post about the SU flash...I'll try that**
Just thought I would put out my findings so far on this version:
Cons:
- After putting on the SU flash it seems to have helped with the root permissions. Root Explorer crashes on me when I open it, it asked for root permission and this FC's.
- The keyboard doesn't recognize words like the typical ICS keyboard does and puts the red line under normal words that you would use. Even changing keyboards it still does it in the messaging apps and things. Not sure if it's a translation thing or what. Like in notes I have "one call for scheduling" for some notes I took and all four of those words have red lines under them.
- Notes and a few other things aren't translated to English, still is in Chinese even though I have English set as the language.
- Autobrightness doesn't seem to work the best, it stays pretty dim after the screen goes off and back on.
Pros:
- Battery life seems to be good but I haven't charged completely to test, I just charged a light charge and has stayed at the battery level for about a hour now and I have used it slightly so it does appear that it's good.
- Not really by your doing but it's nice being able to use the Apex launcher with the MIUI launcher so you could have the vanilla ICS look as well as MIUI look without changing roms.
- Gallery works fine on my end as well as the external music files. Doesn't read the internal but that's already posted I believe.
Hope that's not to long of a post and provides some good feedback, Calendar showed up this time on this flash and everything else seems to be working like it should
Is the fixed ROM a flashover and is there a way to get rid of the "download size requires WI-fi"?
Hey Mark, loving this rom so far. Seems really solid and am looking forward to the next update.
Was the 1x4 miui music widget removed? I'm only seeing the 4x4. Any way to get that back?
Just rembered: the Facebook sync, under accounts and sync, doesn't work. When you choose it, it just returns you to the account list.

If the widget was removed it was because of china, we should see it again soon though. This week they reintroduced their "custom music" app. For facebook sync, ICS removed it, you will need to download an app from market, i use http://tinyurl.com/7snt9sw from market. It syncs all contacts and pictures. Just add account from settings>accounts and sync

I am having a problem with transferring photos from my pc to my phone.
No matter what file I try to transfer them to. They won't be recognized. Like they don't even exist.
I try to transfer them again to the same file to see if maybe it did not work but it says they are there. But when I go to check my gallery, there is no sign of them.
What is going on? Do I have a virus? Can anyone help?
Thanks.

i hate the built-in gallery try to download quickpic (alot of option + fast )
or try to clear cache
OK so that helped with updating my contact pictures list, but I originally wanted to update my wallpaper. I use multi picture live wallpaper. And like I said any new picture I put onto my phone is just not recognized.
I'm just directly put my photos under a folder created by myself in the internal storage.

I have actually done that, but alas did not make a difference. If it makes any difference. I notice that whenever I either plug in my phone into my pc and/or move photos around the "Media Scanner Running" icon notifies me on and off for about 5 minutes even after I have finished. And it as well tends to randomly close any app and the app drawer when I open it.
OK just replying to myself but haha I am becoming more and more frustrated with this. It is also affecting my music as well. I transfer the music files from my pc to my phone and they are only in "My Files" app section. Not found in any of my music players.
Now I have recently downloaded a few apps for customization. Such as ADW Launcher EX, Widget locker, and a few others.
Would any of those somehow change things in my phone. I did pay for them.
Make sure there isn't a .nomedia hidden file in the directory where you placed your picture. Additionally unless you use a media scanning app to force media scan, you will need to restart your phone.

I think I am going to assume there is something wrong with my media scanner on my phone. It is always running and constantly popping up saying it is running, then force closing anything I have open.
I had nook 1.3 stock then I installed manualnooter-4-5-18, after that installed cm-7.2.0-encore on it. I didn't clear any cash nor formatted any partition. Now it boots up correctly but there are some issues:
1- PC can't read SD and internal storage and shows to empty Removable Drives. So I can't copy new apks into it.
2- Why Camera and Messaging applications are present on my nook which doesn't have does capabilities?
3- The process com.android.settings stop when I click on CyanogenMod settings.
BTW captchas are really hard to read.

When coming from stock to CM7, you really need to do a factory reset (via CWM) either before or after putting CM7 on. There are too many incompatibilites between the two. That is why you are getting the errors.
Camera and messaging apps are sometimes necessary before some apps will install, even if not used.

Oh, from the PC. I thought you meant you could not see them on the nook. Probably the reason you cannot see them is you have not turned them on. It is not automatic like stock. After you plug in the USB cable and the removable drives show, pull down the notification area on the nook and select turn on computer access. That will make the removable drives change to show your sdcard and emmc. Or you can use a program from my tips thread called NookColorUMS.

The notification area is supposed to be behind the status bar. You need to take your finger and drag from the bottom to get to show. You should see the bar to push then. Then you drag it back down when finished.

Ok so you're not using an app designed specifically for moving other apps/etc to your SD then. With that being the case you'll need to be very careful in where you're pulling the data from if you expect it to continue functioning as it used to.
You mentioned initially that your moved pictures and videos still show up in the app drawer but are greyed out and say not installed....this is a bit confusing as pictures and videos are usually just single file images or single file video clips and would not ever actually show up in the app drawer and are instead accessed via an app from the app drawer like Gallery or Google Photos, etc. Generally speaking, the apps themselves are usually much smaller than the total amount of space taken up by your videos or (if you have a lot) pictures....you don't even need that many pictures to start adding up to a respectable size if they are all High Quality images.
So, I would recommend you attempt to undo the moves you've made thus far (though if you can't get the apps to show back up as normal then just reinstall them then clean your SD card and internal memory with a junk cleaner) and focus solely on ".img, .png, .mov, .mp3, .gif, .jpeg, .mp4" or any other similarly formatted files if you're doing the moves freely with a root explorer like ES.
If you really want to move your apps over, or at least some of them, try using an app specifically designed for that purpose as this will hopefully ensure they continue to function after the move.....If you're on the stock ROM you should be able to move the apps just by going to Settings > Storage I think or Settings > Apps. One of those two (pretty sure it's storage but I'm on AOSP rom atm so can't check sry) and then click on one of your apps you should get options to Force Quit, Clear Cache, Clear Data then below those you should see a Move to SD option.
Hope this helps! Let me know if I wasn't clear enough or you have further questions^^
No you were very clear I wasn't clear when I said the pictures and videos in the app drawer I should have said from the gallery they where showing up as an empty space Now I believe my card was just going corrupt because it's corrupted now

So i have lost all hope on what to do i dont want to buy another card if this is going to happen to it.
