Less then one meter -.- no throwing or something else, it just hit the floor
Whoa, that is ... bad luck. My old Desire HD fell >1m onto mid-sized stones and had shattered glass only on ~25% of the screen. I don't think that there are already spare displays available on the market? So your only choice would be to send it in. (Don't forget that most likely the Razr M display will be identical, hopefully also the connectors)
Maybe someone more into it could confirm it.

I think that Razr i has the same measures as Razr m. Check this: http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-motorola-droid-razr-m-4g-lte-xt907-glass-lens.html. It's out of stock temporally. Or better, why don't you find Motorola service?

Where to buy it? Cost? can the glass be replace or the entire screen?

Hi guys,
I just saw the following post, very nice source for Razr i parts.
I think you guys only need the "OEM Motorola Razr i XT890 Glass Lens" which is the Gorilla glass front, I suppose?

Ordered a glass on etradesupply.com
Very fast delivery 6 days in Russia. yet it had been slow for $ 50.
Native glass was glued to the matrix.
I had no glue = (.
Where I can find the instructional video for the glass replacement?

Hey,
my razr i had a similar faith.
Having a ciggie on a mezzanine, watching the movie on my knee and as I sit in the window, it almost slid off almost hitting the stairs only if my ninja reflexes had not kicked in..
..slapped the phone which now was flying outside the window spinning as frisbee.. Poor thing landed in the brick yard with the occasional patch of grass, still playing that damned film..
Survived almost with a scratch considering circumstances (2nd floor mainly). It has a crack corner to corner along the top, just below the speaker in the notification area. Amoled n touch features intact (seemingly all works fine, have not noticed any differences apart from the hair scratch that isn't bother any more) Few minor dents round the jack and that corner. nothing else (can provide pictures if anyone want to see)
Was thinking about the OEM replacement glass for xt890. Found one on ebay too for about a $15 might think get one just cause its fairly cheap, but when I rethink it, seen functional razrs for less then whole screen assembly. Maybe its better as peeps suggested here to get one water or else electronically damaged.
Also what kind of glue would be suitable for such repair + any special tool required (never mind the skill set ?
Would it be possible to use razr m as a source for spare parts?
Cheers

Hello,
Well , I have a big problem with my SGS at the moment , the problem is that my screen is defect. Well , the screen still works as it should(touch , thank god) but I has alot of big scratches.
Believe it or not , but I dropped my sgs like 3 times before on 1 meter height on hard underground , It survived without scratches , btw I dont know if it did land on the screen so maybe thats the reason why my screen survived before. But today i was sitting and I had the phone in my pocket and when I wanted to stand up it dropped out of my pocket on the ground , from 0,5 meters height on a soft floor(carpet) but I discovered those big scratches and I was shocked
/Now the important part , is there any way to repair this???
By putting new glass on the screen or something? Maybe there is someone who experienced the same and knows how and where it got repaired?
Thanks in advance,
Picture of the state of my screen in attachments , sorry for the vga webcam quality.
Looks like the glass got shattered.
There would be no way to fix a Crack or a Scratch. You will have to replace the Digitizer and Display.
Dude, that's why you should use screen protector on it.

'Defect' LOL. My car was 'defective' after I wrapped it around a telephone pole.
Would a screen protector prevent a shatter like that? Perhaps to a limited extent but I though they were mainly for scratches.
I do my SGS bareback. No significant scratches yet, I think last time I cleaned the screen up and looked really close I could see one tiny line.
I've dropped once onto pavement (dented the bezel) and once on a wood floor (flew out of my hand as I whipped it out and bounced across the room lol).

You could try and replace it yourself which is probably cheaper or you can ring samsung and tell them what happened and have them replace it/send a new phone for you. Obviously it would cost you.

Well just replacing the glass is not gonna work because the touch digitizer and the glass are like one. So you,ll have to buy it completely new. Also its not easy to replace it. Its glued together. Youll need to be handy.
If your buying off ebay make sure its an amoled screen. Alot of lcds on ebay.

One of the things i loved by my (now sold) iphone 4, is that the screen is glued to the frontglass. This prevents dust from ever getting inn the screen. I really hate dust in the screen.
Do the optimus 2x glue the screen to the glass?? Anyone know.
I don't know about the O2X, but all the android phones I've had over the last few years have NEVER had dust under the screen/glass.
Same.
Never had dust under the screen on my Nexus but i did on my G1 (only because it was falling apart and i'd messed with the insides too much )
So far no dust or anything under the screen, but i did notice that the very small groove that runs around the edge between the phone and the silver band collects ALOT of dust which is kinda hard to get rid of.
Overall though, this phone has the best build quality of any i've ever owned!
Same over here, no dust.
I don't think you should be worried about this. The screens on newer devices are quite well sealed. No dust should be able to get in there. And yes, you will get dirt build up on the grooves along the outer edge but that's quite unavoidable and can be cleaned with a really small pin.
I have 1 small spec of dust in the lower left corner of my screen (only visible when light shines directly on the screen).
but this could be from manufacture
My HTC desire had a build up of dust down the left hand side of the screen due to a faulty seal around the glass
I had 2 with dust under screen. and by that I dont know if with time it gets more dust, or its just at assembly.

It is glued. I went to the repair shop a couple of days ago to find out whether they could replace the broken glass on my phone. They highly recommended replacing the glass together with the display as one unit because, as they said, the glass is glued to the dislay and replacing just the glass is not only pretty difficult but can also result in dust getting between the glass and the display.

Pretty sure it's not "titanium glass", just hardened glass, so don't expect it to be invulnerable. Get a screen protector, don't put your phone in with keys, coins, or anything else with sharp edges, and don't drop your phone this should keep it nice and shiny for a long time.
I once cracked my screen of Desire HD... Before buying anything, be 100% sure whether the top glass is mounted onto the LCD below; or glued to it with some sort of special chemical.
When I broke my DHD screen; I bought only the upper glass part from Ebay. But turned it, the top glass part was glued to the LCD. So I had to buy the LCD and glass part together...

the screen is scratch resistant. personally tried and tested using a sharp knife. i still use a screen protector, though, because we can never tell! i guess gorilla glass is still glass. it's just scratch and impact resistant, as seen on youtube.
This happened to me too the other day. The phone slipped out of my hand and onto a rather soft vinyl floor. Screen is now cracked all over, but working.
As it seems no-one here has been able to replace the screen themselves with ebay replacement glass (probably plastic anyway), I'll just throw my OB in the trash, and gladly so, because of LG's broken promises to update the phone. Thinking back, I might even have had a smirk on my face when I realized what had happened. At least now I have an excuse to get the Galaxy Nexus or some other phone from a decent, self-respecting company, and finally be at peace with the phone I own. With the OB I could feel a bit of frustration every time I used it. Frustration (or pity really) is something I also felt when I checked this forum, since the mods kept closing all the GB-related threads for no apparent reason other than to demonstrate their power.
Without LG, life will indeed be good
"the screen is scratch resistant" - well i made a scratch by simply cleaning the screen with some textil made for cleaning glasses

Not a help with your problem but I dropped my previous Nokia 701 face down on an olde worlde stone slab floor in a local hostelry last year from a height of approximately 4 feet.
The battery cover flew off and the battery flew elsewhere, with the front of the phone still lying face down on the floor. Needless to say I fully expected the screen to be totally shattered amongst whatever other damage may have been inflicted, so imagine my (delighted) shock when I picked the phone up to discover it was totally unscathed!! And I mean, totally unscathed – not a mark, scratch, or dent on it, bar the tiniest imperceivable chip on the bezel.
When I bought my XT890 a few weeks ago one of my first thoughts at the time was that this phone wouldn't survive such a drop. I do feel your pain and hope you get it resolved as speedily as possible.

I may still do this, but for now it's going in a drawer. I need to take some time to pry into it and make sure the frame isn't cracked. Maybe buff up the corner that's beat to heck afterwards.
I had a case but it was a slim case that really didn't protect the device beyond minor wear.
Well now you know. Take good care of Moto G. Otherwise it maybe another downgrade *wink* *wink*, jk good luck.

Well, as touchscreen, lcd, etc are fused together, the new screen you'll buy will have a new frame. Basically, you will just put your old motherboard, battery, antenna and backplate (and probably some others minor thing that I have forget ;D) and you're done.
Take a look on this screen http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HKL3DEM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 : it's pretty easy to confirm that the frame is fused with the screen

Cases are great, but why not buy an extended warranty? If u live in Canada The Source will sell you 2 year protection regardless of where u bought your phone. It is like $120 and covers water damage too. ( if your phone is way busted they won't even know that u rooted it. XD)
==Spectrys' Nexus 5==
i dropped mine on hard floor mozaic or ceramic made floor (in bathroom) and when it hit all my family outside , heard the sound !!! smash was so hard . and u know what ? it survive and body injure is hard to find ) .
i saw nexus 5 black hit the ground and what happened to it , black ones interestingly has softer body than white . but its not obvious .
white nexus 5 opposite of all opinion and even mine , has awesome tough body . mine beloved , after smash to the ground i picked it up and it just took a really tiny spot isnt it interesting ?
. interesting point is . incident spot is just under the screen side and body didn't even reached to screen so nothing happened how !!?? gap between smash spot and screen is unmeasurable but still it didint reached screen ! . im ordering a spigen to avoid such bad screen shattered .
anyway im so sry . was your nexus black version ?
Dude, can you take a photo of your Nexus 5 after the damage?
Freshly baked from my Nexus 5
Why don't you sell it? It sounds like every part other than the screen is still usable.
Very sad for you man...
My white Nexus was on top of my car didn't look twice and stepped on the gas pretty hard ... it flew unperfectly and slid almost 20 feet saw it in the rearview mirror DAMN! picked it up it was perfect!
My red one tumbled down a complete set of cement stairs last month: again picked it up it was PERFECT! (not the case with the screen protector did its job and took the hit)
SO WHATS THE TRICK? You may ask...
After months of scientifical studies and not so proven research, some expensive case and skins and a couples cosmetical and functional repairs on my N5's here are the results:
More for less...
Cheap soft TPU case and very important tempered hard glass screen protector!
Found easy breezy on eBay or if your kinda cheap and ain't afraid of Aliexpress like me:
