The android browser does not keep me logged in. Whenever i close the browser, it logs off sites I was logged into and so very annoying. I have had this problem since I did the software update throught the settings. The Firefox or other browsers don't give this problem. But i find the android browser simpler and better to use. How do I fix it? I obviously tried clearing cache and passwords and all the options in there.*
I'm using a galaxy tab 8.9''.

Have you tried the chrome browser? It is overall similar to the android browser (thanks google!). It may help keep you logged in.

Whenever I try to open an application - as it happens, any application - under Settings->Manage Applications, I get a force close. I'm currently trying to set Opera Mini to be my default browser (FWIW), but it'd be nice to be able to reset default launcher, etc.
I first thought it might be launcher related, so picking one of the alternate launchers I used at random, I uninstalled & re-installed to re-get the option to pick launcher - same result no matter which launcher I use (stock, GDE, helix, helix2).
I'm on CM 5.0.5.3, modaco baked-goods flavor with apps2sd enabled. Halp!
You can't set opera to be the default browser. You have to use opera bridge.

Good to know. Any ideas on settings->manage applications always force-closing whenever I pick an app? The opera thing was a one-time need, but manage applications is damned useful to have access to, which I currently don't =(
Hello Guys,
I have not really posted much on here, but i could not find, under the Experia Z1 device, about the Locked Book Marks that Bell Canada sets up in the devices on Chrome Browser. ( If this is not in the correct section, please do move it )
My Question: Is there any way to delete the "pre-installed" Book Marks that the provider installs.
Its just like the Bloatware that Bell installs on their Android devices, but in this case, the pre-install Google Chrome browser has "pre-installed" bookmarks that i would like to remove.
I never had these on my Google account till i got this new Phone yesterday. I can long press any bookmark folders and delete them, but this "Chrome bookmarks" folder i cannot remove. It also does not sync with my Google Chrome browser on my PC that is linked to my Google account. So i cannot manage that "folder" from my PC.
So, from what i can see, i cannot find a way to remove them.
I have added a screen shot showing the "folder" that i am speaking of if anyone wonders what im talking about.
The bottom folder, "Chrome bookmarks" is the bookmarks I cannot remove.
Anyone have options for this or ideas to remove the?
Wow... For mine I have a bunch of Sony bookmarks - also cannot be removed. Custom bookmarks that I added can be deleted (Long Press). Tried the same thing on the Sony ones and the option to delete is absent from the menu...
I was going to suggest deleting them from the Chrome Browser if your Desktop is synced up, (Other Bookmarks -> Mobile Bookmarks) - but I guess they don't show up there either.. The Sony ones don't...
Yes, any custom book marks i can modify and delete from my phone or my google account on chrome browser on the PC. but those "Bell" added favorites are not modified able at all or delete-able.
Its just annoying that every time i open the google browser app, all i see are those Fav's that are not mine!
If anyone could find a way, it would be helpful.
( I have tried apps to remove fav's, but does do not work at all. those Fav's stay there anyway )

Found a potential fix - I have now removed the Sony bookmarks by disabling the app listed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2284418
and Asus version here (same procedure)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856425
Then I cleared the cache from Chrome and rebooted the phone.

I have the Nokia 8 and NO google account on the phone, all possible features of Google Disabled. And still I get ads in my Firefox browser from Google!
Now, I have the booloader code from Nokia but not yet unlocked. Will I have the option if I open the bootlader and perhaps root the phone to get rid of those google ads and all other google crap???
I don't want to do all those steps and then find the phone won't work without it. Like when I disabled play servives, then a lot of apps didn't work anymore, incl. messages etc.!
Any input is appreciated in suggesting what can be done.
if you are using firefox, install ublock plugin

You can try this application have many filters basically i tried on website and Facebook and Twitter but not trying on others app, best no need to root the device you can find on Xda
I even used the hosts file loaded with all of those sites.... no avail. Still get those google ads served
Firefox ver. 68.1.1 set as default browser on Verizon Galaxy S10 auto starts frequently and loads 2 or 3 tabs. One tab is always Amazon. How do I stop this?
I have signed out of Amazon and have tried Force Stop on Firefox but no success.
Maybe some malware / adware you've installed with another app? Try scanning your phone with Malwarebytes or similar...and take a look over some suspicious apps on your phone.
Mostly, Android doesn't support autostart by itself, so maybe an app starts a service which opens URLs. Did you try it with a different standard browser?
