Firefox auto starts - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Firefox ver. 68.1.1 set as default browser on Verizon Galaxy S10 auto starts frequently and loads 2 or 3 tabs. One tab is always Amazon. How do I stop this?
I have signed out of Amazon and have tried Force Stop on Firefox but no success.

Maybe some malware / adware you've installed with another app? Try scanning your phone with Malwarebytes or similar...and take a look over some suspicious apps on your phone.
Mostly, Android doesn't support autostart by itself, so maybe an app starts a service which opens URLs. Did you try it with a different standard browser?

Some apps don't show up in my Market

Maybe this has nothing to do with the NC, not sure yet.
But I've noticed that some apps don't seem to show up in the Market on my Nook Color, but do on my Android phone and AppBrain.
For example EA Mobile has some 99 cent games on sale right now. I got Need for Speed for my phone. And it shows up in AppBrain on my NC, but in the Market it's not there.
I noticed some others missing too like Super Manager.
Are these apps not showing up because this Market apk came from the Galaxy Tab and they aren't supported on tablets (noticed one of the EA games did mention it wasn't supported on the Galaxy Tab)? Or is something else going on?

Market will not show apps that are deemed incompatible with your device. Since NC doesn't come with market, it will mainly show you generic apps. Other alternate market apps may show you apps that work or that don't and apps that require OS 2.2, since the NC is an unsupported device.

I've had this same problem, specifically with Pocket Legends. I sideloaded an old .apk of it and booted it up. It works, but then tells me to upgrade and when I let it go to the market, the screen just flashes and goes back to the pocket legends app.
Ugh. Is this something that could be fixed in the future? I'm starting to get surprised at how many apps I can't download from the Market now. Can't even install Firefox.
I guess I can try side loading some of these thing from my Android phone.

Can't install Firefox? Shows in the market here for me.
Firefox Beta 3 showed up for me and installed fine.
Inconsistance
I've had to re-root my new nook color several times. The first time I did it the Market had a limited number of apps. Viewing the "Top Free" or "Top Paid" only had about 10 apps visible as opposed to a long ongoing list of apps.
After a factor reset and re-root the market was showed any and every app.
After a third factory reset and reroot the market was back to the original way with far fewer apps. (currently Firefox, Dolphin, Skyfire are NOT visible but Opera is)
So I can confirm "something" is problematic. I came to this forum hoping for an answer myself.
Running 1.0.1 and used auto-nooter each time.
This may not fix your problem, earlyhike - but it may help someone:
When viewing the market holding it as a portrait, only 10 apps show but if you rotate to landscape then you can scroll through the long list.
Hope this helps someone
I would very much appreciate if someone could upload the Firefox Beta 3 since I can't get it from Market. Thanks in advance.

I had to install it on my Android phone, then just copied the APK file over to my Nook and installed it that way. I put a copy here of Firefox 4 beta 3.

Now I'm curious what is going on.
Those of you that found Firefox, were you using the new Market or the old market?
I'm using the New Market and not seeing Firefox (and some other things). I wonder if this new Market apk is the issue.

Browser logging off websites

The android browser does not keep me logged in. Whenever i close the browser, it logs off sites I was logged into and so very annoying. I have had this problem since I did the software update throught the settings. The Firefox or other browsers don't give this problem. But i find the android browser simpler and better to use. How do I fix it? I obviously tried clearing cache and passwords and all the options in there.*
I'm using a galaxy tab 8.9''.

Have you tried the chrome browser? It is overall similar to the android browser (thanks google!). It may help keep you logged in.

Full page ads by google every couple of days

I'm having a problem with ads by google. I restored my note 8 from a note 4 and have all my apps that I've been using for years. Nothing new. Now with the new note 8 (unlocked version) I get a full page ad for the google app store about every 2 days, just some random app to download.
This shows up when I pick up my phone and unlock it.
So I've gone into the app store and made sure all notifications are off. I turned off all notifications from any app I don't need notifications from. I've gone into the google ad choices on my google account and turned off ad personalization. I've removed pretty much removed all the google apps except play store and play music.
I called Samsung and they had me remove my google account from the phone and reinstall it. I was told it will ask for permissions and it never did.
I'm ready throw this dam thing because I can't get the ads to stop.
Today I put it in safe mode to see if it happens over the next couple of days.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
What launcher are you using? The stock Samsung one? I never get ads in the home and lockscreen even back when I didn't habe an ad blocker installed.
You are getting a pop-up ad, then I don't think it has anything to do with notifications. I suggest you start uninstalling apps one by one until this problem stops. It is most likely an app on your phone doing this. Start uninstalling in the reverse order you installed them in. There will be a rogue app causing the problem.
I think I found the app. A network signal app that people complain about popup ads. Hopefully this is the issue.
thanks

Beginner Q&A batch

I'm an advance computer user, but completely new to tablets/mobile stuff. Got a Amazon Fire 7 gen7. Read some threads and got Google Play and Nova Launcher as default from This Post. But I still have several questions. In no particular order:
Are any of the preinstalled Amazon applications useful or are the all purely bloatware?
What are actual Amazon applications and not stupid applications of "here is how you get to use this application"? Similar to old PC "this is how you register for a free trial of CompuServe Internet". E.g. what to keep from "Kindle", "Books", and "Kindle Store"?
I am using a 4GB mSD card. Already when to Settings -> Storage -> Move everything to SD card. Amazon Storage has be at about 90% capacity. CCleaner has me at about 70%. ES File Manager has 98%. All of these measurement are for the System disk space no SD. Which should I trust? What is the reason for the descrepancy?
Is CCleaner [android] as useful as it is for PC?
Is is actually worth or advisable to link an amazon account with the Tablet? (See below).
In order to run FireFox (for uBlock Origin) I had to download the APK and install it manual. Google play would say that it was incompatible with my device. The table would just send me to the amazon store. Is there any way to prevent my tablet from Prioritizing the Amazon store?
I would like to watch Youtube very easily on this tablet. Chrome doesn't have an adblocker. Firefox has add blocker but you must manual set the page to Desktop view (instead of the mobile site) for Full Screen view. Is there any best/simple way or application to watch Youtube?
When I use the Novus Google Search Bar widget it defaults to the Silk Browser. How do I make other browsers the default?
Are there any tutorials or orientations on using the Nova Launcher?
Sometimes when I play games, tapping in the corner of the screen brings up a hot/quick app launcher thingie from Nova. What is the actually command/gesture for this? How may I change its settings to avoid interruptions while playing a game?
What are some standard always recommended (non-game) applications for tablets E.g. Es File Manager.
Since I had to manual install these APKs to get the Google Play store, are they automatically updated by GooglePlay? I tried using the newer versions of them but got installation discrepancies.

Web browser problems

Ok I just purchased my Note 9 and for some reason today my web browser keeps opening itself. I dont if its malware or something but is there an app I can use to clean it or do I have to wipe and re start all over again
What browser? Samsung, or one you downloaded? Is it opening as it would if you pressed the icon to open it yourself, or is it opening to a specific page?
Samsung and it opens to virus alert stuff i yhink i fixed it tho
