Hi when I rooted my tab yesterday i used odin and a flash rom. I also installed a Ice Cream Sandwich Andriod version 4.0 (alpha 3) from this website http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322059 by CWM then the wifi did not work.So i restored my earlier version and now it is stuck at the samsung screen. What can I do?
Thanks
This is not q&a forum.
There is one for it.
To answer you, no it is not bricked you can boot to download mode.
You just happen to flash a bad ROM.
Why flash alpha when ICS has been stable for so long.
Do you even know what is alpha stage software?

Yup..just the cwm. But it's advised not to flash it through rom manager.
The links given by aprizND are good.
Ur pretty well known..even here
Hope one of ur friends persuades u to dev something for mini too
You can directly flash CWM through stock recovery. Link is in the post by aprizND post but still...

BTW you still 13. I saw your account nearly an year ago. You were 13 at that time.

Are you on GB or ICS? What version of either of these are you on? You update CWM only if you flash a new GB or ICS stock version. Of course Chainfire has updated ICS to a newer CWM following complaints of the earlier kernel's leading to potential bricking of the Note.
In short the answer is that there is no requirement for a new CWM unless you upgrade the GB / ICS stock ROMs. Cheers!

Hi is it possible for me to update my Samsung galaxy tab
Model: GT-P1000
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000JXJM2
Kernel version:
2.6.32.9
[email protected] #1
Build number
FROYO.JPJM5
You will install Kies on your PC before, And put your Tab connect to USB. Well you can update via Kies.
sorry for my bad English
Good luck
hi there are no updates available thinking of rooting it but have no idea how and if i can do it with my tab i want version 2.3 or later
makes restock rom, recommend the "GB_Stock_Safe_v5" from overcome
and download your latest version (same region) from sammobile.com then flash it
Maybe you must to un-root your tab but I'm not sure that make you can update.
Warning all your data will be lost.

Yes there are plenty of ways to update your device.
You can simply install Samsung Kies, connect your tab and update to official gingerbread (2.3) or you can install a custom GB rom (Overcome Rom).
You can also choose to install ICS (4.0) or JB (4.1), various flavors like AOKP, CM9, CM10 etc.
To get started on custom GB or any other custom rom you should first root/stock your device using the Overcome guide/rom. The original thread is Here but the links are down so you should get the guide and safe-restock/rom files from the mirrors here.
Everything you need to do is included in the guide. Once you have installed Overcome rom you will be rooted and have a custom rom/kernel, from there if y0ou want to go up to ICS etc you simply put the rom on your sdcard, boot into recovery and flash the desired rom.
For me better upgrde to overcome rom..its more stable and have native 3g call..

But after watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhSSmdqAXRM&feature=player_embedded i notice there are more options which may be easier.
Can someone please guide me so i dont mess my phone up?
Also where can i find the original firmware incase i need to reflash for warranty?
I also read that i need to backup my iemi but am unsure how i do this?
Cheers
You can download the firmwares via sammobile or via Samsung kies
I advise installing CWM ClockWork Recovery with Odin then flashing a custom ROM

I would advise doing this first...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946915
Then root via this method =) (there are known problems with the 6.XXX touch recovery)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914394
You now have root!
Then if you want the latest version straight from Samsung (4.1.2) flash this through CWM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2066767
Hope that helps =)
I was thinking of using the toolbox and hoping it was an all in one application.
Im really really new to Android.
Autoroot with stock recovery and mobile odin works best for me. I'm a noob too. Have flashed perseus kernal and pandoriams latest 4.1.2 and works great
