When I used to live in USA, FM radio is working on stock rom. However, I live in Japan now, so FM radio does not work in Japan. If I customize the setting of FM radio apk, it will work, but I do not know how to do it.
My phone is rooted JB, and I do not want to use alternative FM radio app such as spirit FM.
Can you tell me how to use FM radio apk in Japan, or share customized FM radio apk?
How is it working on other Asia countries?

If you have*custom_settings.xml*of Japan frequency band, please share it..

dont know but i guess you can get that file from any stock rom of Japan. extract it from that ROM and check if they have the values you want
No, Japanese Galaxy Note does not have samsung official FM radio apk, so I can not do it.
Anyone live in Korea or China? I guess FM radio does not work in Asia because their frequency band is different with Europe or north America.

First post from the CM6 page from ATT1:
Q. Does the FM Radio work?
A. No, and there are no plans for FM radio support at this time.
Q. I miss HTC Sense. Can it be added to CM6?
A. No. HTC Sense is proprietary. Further, it is more than just a launcher and add on programs.
Q. But I really really really miss Sense. Can it be added to CM6?
A. No. And still - no. Yet - no.
This was an easy find.
What would cause my FM radio to stop working and I am stock aria build??

try the program droidacir.
it isn't an actual fm receiver, but it works fantastically well.
it uses internet streams to play radio stations, and the amount of stations available is ridiculous. i use that program every night to listen to a local talk radio station here in town (wichita, ks).
Hi,
Somebody knows a good fm radio app for the HD2?

Just tried TuneIn but it's not a FM radio app but internet streaming radio app.
I was also searching for some good FM radio but couldn't find nothing on market except for many streaming only apps.

You have SPIRIT FM Working fine with HTC HD2 (RDS also) https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mikersmicros.fm.
Radio Fm by MIUI (http:/www.miui.com) (RDS doesn't work and no automatic tuning search).
MIUI still does not support FM-Radio !
Information from MIUI Official, MIUI GINGER will have FM Radio at Mid of June

"Radio FM - Radio For Mobile" is the best I know.
I just found the useful call recording function on Darky and Sweet Honey custom ROM for Froyo.
Why Samsung Galaxy S firmware developer not making this function as an official function for Samsung Galaxy S stock firmware? Maybe for next Gingerbread realease.
Cuz it's ilegal in many countries...

Thanks for the answer.
How about FM radio recording? I like this function.
FM radio recording is not ilegal, if it's only for personal use. That's why many radio stations put their voicelogo inside new songs they transmit.

HI all,
Im in Australia and been using Nik Trinity(4.5) and MIUI (2.4.6) so far.
i just realized that not all apps are available for me in the market. I have tried market enabler and change the build prop to nexus s as well but nothing has come up.
So Im just wondering if everyone else is experiencing this issue?
I just bought the IS two weeks ago
Essentially it come down to 3 factors.
1. Screen resolution
2. Android version
3. Model

google play (or market) has some region specific apps.
based on the rom you are using, there would be some apps which may not be available.
Is there a way to change the region? I'm from the UK but currently in Australia and my phone is brought in Australia as well. But I miss some of the apps which are only for the UK ? But obviously my Australian play not find them......

Filters
Google Play (Android Market) automatically filters apps and only shows the ones that are compatible with your device

You can download country specific stock firmware and flash them.
Or you can check what firmware the custom roms are based off & use any one that is specific to your region.
i think alternately, you can search for apps on appbrain through your computer and install directly...
or if you know what app ypu want you can search and download.. am sure the apk's will be available

Here you find the "spirit fm radio free" with various limitations (only mono): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059296
Otherwise on Play store there are "spirit fm light" and "spirit fm radio unlocked" with full functionality (paid apps).
There aren't others fm radio working on cm9/cm10.
But before use this fm radio read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13380066&postcount=3
You should try an tune in radio which available on play store

I don't think tune in is FM radio. that is streaming radio.

Thanks for the free spirit FM link, but after reading the post I think I will not take risk of installing it.
Why do you want FM? Use Mobile radio live, works on data but has all the FM broadcast stations, and hundreds more.
Or do you have little data on your call plan or something?

But on my SGS with CM10 it breaks Apollo. I've to restore a Nandroid backup to fix it.
On the contrary, Spirit FM Free works well without damaging the loudspeaker (up to now...).
