Wow so many problems here but couldn't find this:
I have some nice mgs (= a play station game) sounds in mp3 format, I put them with mtp in the ringtone/notification folders on the internal sd, I can access them but they are played way too fast. Is this a problem with the sound format? I believe the .ogg sounds worked normally. Not sure now because I deleted them and have no access to my PC for now.
Thanks

Probably something went wrong while encoding those files to mp3.
You really should try to play those files on a pc to be sure. As long as you have a usb cable any pc will do

Since I got gingerbread they put a new music app with a picture of headphones on my phone. But they also kept the old music app but changed the name to LG Music.
Why do I need both? What is the difference of the new music besides looking different?
Is it safe to delete the LG (old) music?
lgnationrc
the problem is choice
They did that to give you a choice. You can delete both of them if you like if you've found a better one.
The other app is Google Music. It's a cloud music player, but you can also play files from your SD.
I find it way better than LG Music.
If you want to remove it: you can always reinstall it from market. (Google Music )

Hi,
I have a Xperia Z since many weeks and i have always the same problem, i can't share pics, photos or any file from the external SDCard with the Facebook for Xperia, i need to copy the file into the internal one and after that works correctly, if i don't do that that automatically said all the time that there is network trouble.
I'm alone having this issue or do you have the same?
I just tried it.
Works fine with me

Also a weird thing, if i'm listening to some music in my external SDCard, i use ASTRO to browse my external SDCard, play a song, that works but i can't move up or down in the playlist with the buton, only play/stop work.
I think there is something wrong with my External SDCard...
Hi, i recently got the s3 mini and after putting some music on my internal 4gb storage in the already created music folder but the stock music player wont show them up, i have done a battery pull with no sucsess, sadly please help
Nothing, no one nada, please guys
Maybe you have a nomedia file in the folder. First check that, then try and see if other players find the music

I've noticed if I copy & paste the mp3 file to internal storage and then settings>storage>transfer data sd it works!! :/
Is this a bug!??

No, it just takes time for the media server to read all the contents of your phone. Put it on your external card and wait

There is an app called "media scanner" that refreshes libraries. I was having the same issue

I was having the same problem.
Out of nowhere there came a .nomedia file in the root of my sd card, try to look if it is there and delete it if it is.
For me, all my media came back after doing this and rescan media
I had the same problem. Everything showed after unmounting my sd card then mounting it.
I have thousands of music files on my SD card. The stock music player seems to only be able to access and read ( when in shuffle mode under tracks ) some of my songs , meaning the ones only under tracks heading in shuffle mode. A little bit of research made me believe that the reason only half of my songs are listed under tracks is that the rest are within sub folders on the SD card and not accessible under tracks to be played via the shuffle method.
Any ideas on what I need to do to make all my songs accessible for shuffle play?

I've just been extracting my albums to the desktop of my cpu. Then dragging and dropping the album folders to the SD card with my n4 plugged in.
if you dont keep your music in folders, then it will be easier for them to be read by all music players..
not very organized, but, at least all your songs are available all the time, with every player..

So basically I would have to dump all music files into one folder. Breaking up all albums and folders?

OK put albums in one folder and not make sub folders within a folder?

Sorry you are having such trouble.
My albums are each in their own folder loose on my SD card. Maybe this pic will help more.
You can see a rom, a pic, and the album folders

just remember, every music player handles files differently, so keep that in mind when you do that..
for me, I just dump it all on my sd card in a directory called music, and always play them randomly anyways, so there is never an issue with any player I use by doing that
