also i only have 30 apps installed with int2ext+
nothing else, and my phone lags like a hell,i've read some people that have over than 60 apps and their phones still lag-free
I have tried adrenaline engine, lagfree script,slaidmod,slaidyboost,v6 supercharger ( obviosly not all togheter :dumb but in any case i cant get lagfree phone,i know it isnt the best phone but is there a way to have it without lags? help me plz..
You don't need any RAM managing scripts/apps/whatever.
All they do is actually slow it down, as when you open apps, they're stored in RAM so you can open them again later. If you clear RAM all the time, you'll have to load the app every time you want to open it.
Depending on your launcher, this may be a problem with scrolling lag too.
My advice is just remove any RAM managing...stuff.
I'm using Wp7 extreme rom its modified to the Max with visuals and IV got 15 apps on top of that, I haven't even over clocked it and its still smooth and fast with no lag and IV got 1gb partition, the rom it self sorts the has built in app2sd, not the app, it also comes with ram manager what I haven't used yet so maybe try this rom and also try clearing cache on all the apps this has a massive impact on performance

You don't need a ram manager, huh? So when you have 50+ apps and 25MB ram left with your phone TRYING to crawl through whatever you're doing, what will you do? Close them all up one by one to free up ram?
Amazing how all these devs make ram managers just for show, huh. They must be pretty bored.

The Ace can't run anything COMPLETELY lag-free because of it's lack of hardware. I've tweaked my phone to the max and it's already as "lag-free" as it can get. And it STILL has its slowdown moments. Don't feel bad, it's not just your phone.

Hello evry one. I have problem in my captivate and other models of android. I installed almost every custom rom but problem of loading apps fast still exist. What i mean is.. that when i on my mobile, so first time apps like calender, messenging etc take a little time to load. than when i close the app and open again, it loads very quickly. When mobile goes to standby for more than 10 mins, and when i on it, it again take little time to load apps, and widget menu etc.
Why it is like that ??? and whats the solution to always load the apps quickly

It's how Android manages memory. It keeps your apps in memory until it needs to free some, at which point it starts to close apps to free some up. If they're already in memory they open fast because they're already open. If they aren't, they open more slowly.
There's not a ton you can do, really. Some 3rd party sms apps let you lock the app in memory, but I honestly never checked to see if it really works or not.
Personally, I restart my phone every morning when I wake up. This frees up the most memory and allows your phone to leave more apps open before closing them.
make sure you arent running any ****ty task killers.
You could flash an I9000 ROM/kernel that let's you tweak the lmk. (low memory killer)
Talon and semaphore both offer that option.
The trick is to make it weak enough to not kill the apps you want, but aggressive enough to not allow to run out of ram completely.
both of those kernels also have a "bigmem" version that gives the user a bit more ram at the cost of being able to record video in 720p.

I like ur answrr. But can u pls guide me abt lmk. I like this idea but never use such tweaks. I m using talon kernel right now and rom is much fast. But have same prb of apps loading
In the app memory freak, that installed with the kernel, there is a slider for you to adjust,
lower number the more aggressive the lmk but the better the overall performance.
Higher number is less aggressive and is better for multitasking, but can be a bit slower.

Where to find app memory freak ? i haven't seen any option in CWM
Should have been installed when you flashed talon. If not, it should be linked in the talon op.
This Q is for active devs...
Can you guys do RAM to be like after installing V6 supercharger...
Supercharger is great but, it lag from time to time and it needs to be refreshed... So is it possible to modify stock android ram managment to be like supercharger...
(to tweak it actually, to modify minifrees like V6 SC??)
I think performance incrase will be massive that way! Better than some third party scripts.
If it's impossible than, allright.. but it's always good to ask, isn't it?
EDIT:
...oh .. I apologize, I accidentally posted this in dev section instead of general.. so don't mind please!

One more question..
Is this possible to achieve more multitasking like FROYO on Gingerbread Roms without the things like:--Swapping,supercharger etc.
1. Gingerbread roms are bug free and with extra features but I can run only 3-4 application at a time
e.g.- suppose that I am downloading some files(100-400MB) with opera/dolphin etc in background and suddenly I have to open root explorer and install some applications then during the installation of these applications opera/dolphin automatically kill by the android and downloading stops.
2. FROYO roms are with less features and some bugs like DSP, A&V Sync.
But one thing that is impressive is that I can run 8-9 applications simultaneously.
Take the same example....I can download files via opera/dolphin in parallel with installing apps via root explorer, playing music, market downloading, Emails etc.
I don't know why there is too much difference. I think this point should not be ignored.
Ram manager pro + swapper + sd class 4
That's all you need.
PD: Supercharger it's laggy and doesn't installs easily...

And I were telling this ages ago...
Gingerbread requires more memory for the OS itself than Froyo. It's as simple as that.
This is why our devices are already out of spec and we have to use many, many hacks to make it run to an acceptable level.
If you want to fix that, you have to analyse where this RAM is consumed and rewrite the code of these components more efficiently. This is actually google's job though.
now i'm interested about this part
wait till i release new optimizer
i'm pretty busy lately
new version released
link : Here My Optimizer
Guys use ram manager app by juwe11.it really does its job.buy the full version and use hard multitasking setting.

Auto Memory Manager. The idea behind it is simple, but dont restrict the RAM too much, it can **** up performance.
What swapper exactly does?
Please use Google uncle for this question u will get the answer.
As naa said we have to identify the ram eaters. And rewrite memory management segment for those modules. So the basic question is to identify the modules. For that we need a tool that will show the memory consumption.

Whenever I open a page in internet browser and chat in IM app simultaneously I always either loose IM or the web. Sometimes this doenot happen but most of the time I'm suffering from this problem. I think most of the users of X8 have this problem whole lot of time. Don't we have any solution ?
And I have tried every kind of mods, all custom ROMs, all custom kernels. I have tried all of the available governors, CPU frequency setting, Compcache, JIT, VM heap, most of the availabe Modules and most of the RAM management applications too. Whenever I try these mods for the first time it shows good sign for one or two days then Gradually RAM decreases. And makes my phone laggy. After restart it again shows very good response again soon the problem happens.
As I'm newbie out here please suggest me with the best of the solution for my problem.

1st up do you have a TON of apps running and installed
2nd do you have ALOT of sms\text messages
3rd try these settings on any kernel + CM based Rom cpu @600 and max (whatever your phone can go recommend 748) with smartassv2 governor set compcache to 26% (little OTT but you can try it at 18%) enable JIT disable surface dithering and 16bit transparency make sure Allow purging of assets is disabled and set your VM heap size to 48m if you dont care alot for battery
4th make sure you got NO TASK MANAGER installed
let me know how this works out for you
use superuser, uninstall system apps that.you don't use.....use root explorer to delete apps in system/app
delete the synchronizing apps if you don't em ..
.
Hi there XDA,
I've been using the custom rom DjangoManouche for some time now, and it's great! But while installing i'm usually guessing the settings. If someone can clarify it, it would be great!
Note that these settings are asked of you while you install DjangoManouch custom rom.
1. Available Kernels.
When installing the KoB kernel, you can chose between several options. NoOC or OC, with or without RamHack. I know that OC stands for over clocking, but what does the RamHack do (28 / 32 mb)?
2. Dynamic Fsync (active / inactive)
I found this explanation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33381928
If i understand this correctly it means that you have a small lag when ending calls. But when your system crashed you won't lose data.
3. Frandom Optimazations (active / inactive)
I can find no information about this on the internet..
4. Zram (active 96/128mb or inactive)
I found this explanation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077072
If i understand this correctly it means that ZRAM is handy for devices with not a lot of RAM. But the LG 02x has 1gb of RAM(?). Wich raises the question what good does it do?
5. RAM Management (stock RAM values / Supercharger Free Ram values / SuperCharger Balanced Ram values)
I found this explanation: http://www.technorms.com/10319/boost-performance-android-phone-supercharger
Wich explains that supercharger script boost your phones performance. But doesn't explain what the difference is between 'Free Ram values' and 'Balanced Ram values'.
6. CRT Effect (enabled / disabled)
Is this the awesome animation that shows when you power on / off your phone?
7. Fast Dormancy (enabled / disabled)
I found this explanation: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/674208-fast-dormancy-in-nutshell.html
In short you want to enable it if your provider supports it, correct?
8. Cronjobs (active / inactive)
I can find some javascript related information, but not connected to Android. So i'm in the dark here.
As last i want to add that I'm posting these questions here because flooding the original thread with these questions is just creating noise And i'm sure there are a lot of other people with the same questions.
Thanks in advanced!
Dynamic sync is better disabled.....when enabled and issues of reboot....has a risk of data corruption.
ZRAM....96 is better....makes apps open faster......one correction-O2X has 512 and not 1GB.
Balanced RAM or free RAM.....old timers from GB will know....so maybe Carbs did not feel to state it again
Kernel ....OC is better but for rh....I prefer no ramhack
Frandom....I chose not to activate....did not find a big difference in perf
Fast dormancy.....better disabled for battery
Ramhack....is hacking and in simple words stealing what is normally for the system.....for faster performance.....but can be lagging or missing some features ....higher RH can lead to issues in Camera or other apps....so I prefer the minimum of rh and less RAM consuming background apps
I hope you can read the threads which you have posted but on experience ....I have posted what I have tested and used over quite some time on this device.
Thanks for the understanding
EDIT: forgot the cron job.....this is something Carbs first started in the O2X long back to free RAM periodically......everyday at a specified time,,,,cron script will run and clear.but you need to activate it by giving permissions
To be exact, Optimus 2x only has 384 Mb of RAM available to use for Android and apps, because 128Mb of that 512 is dedicated to the GPU. This is why many developers embed RAM hacks, because that is not much.
Since I've been using DMX I've experienced that with supercharger off, I'm always suffering from very little free memory, but many people claims (mainly Carburano), that supercharger eats much CPU even when the screen is off, that's why he doesn't suggest to use it.

for the first part....you are absolutely right my friend.
in android.....extra or too much RAM is wasted RAM.....so generally speaking we dont need too much too....like in WIN
but, less RAM can be leading to lags and screen freezes
Ramhack can be leading to some unpleasant things sometimes.....too much of RH can also make a few apps, system apps to FC....so I always prefer to have no RH and use apps like greenify or minfree manager.....I agree with the DEV as the testings and general usage over time will show the correct results......some of us users might not see that....

It seems that cronjobs are actually really useful! But how do i give it permissions? Usually SU ask to give you permissions when the proces starts. (For example when you open Titanium Backup). But i can't manually add permissions.

Not much, only the amount of free ram is more, but it doesn't effect the smoothness much imo. I had heavy lags with stock ram values on DM1.6 unfortunately, so I would have suggested you to use supercharger too. I hope you will be pleased with the settings you chose.

But most of the lag happens when switching between apps or starting one. When an app is running, it's usually smooth.

I will try this out on my next install! I prefere to use a install for several days so i can test it out better.
And after installing Greenify things got a lot smoother! That app is just black magic
So my problem is that the phone lags everywhere. For example I'm in Settings and if i scroll to the bottum, it lags a lot.If i swipe around home screens, it lags. I try to play some games and guess what - HUGE LAG in Fast & Furious 6, which btw ran quite smoothly a year ago. I've tried a lot of apps and some help (Seeder ; XBooster), but the lag is still there. I tried with enabled Force GPU Rendering and Disable Hardware Controls (both at once or just one of them), but I can't really tell if it's helping, because with or without those ticked, my phone lags :/
Please share some tips or something for getting the best performance out of this (other than the lags) great phone
I always have a nandroid backup aither on my sd card or on my pc, so flashable stuff is also more than welcome. Thanks in advance!

Try using Entropy Fixer with Seeder. Replace XBooster with RAM Manager. Install Greenify and hiberbate apps like Facebook and etc. Install LagFix and trim your memory. Install any app that allows you to change your I/O scheduler and change it to noop. Change you animations to 0.5 or off. enable force GPU rendering, and disable hw overlays. Disable S voice. Try flashing a performance engine like adrenaline or pureperformances x ; just don't install more than one because it could brick or bootloop your phone. And if you install PurePerformances then seeder will stop working but it's okay because PurePerformances has an entropy generator. Don't use task killers. Install Clean Master and clean up your phone; make sure you uninstall it after because it's actually going to slow down your phone since it turns on apps like facebook and it runs in the background. Clean Master is good for cleaning but it runs apps in the background just to make it look like it clear a lot of RAM so uninstall it after you clean your phone. SD Maid is also good for cleaning your phone as well. Uninstall apps you don't use and freeze, disable or uninstall bloatware with SD Maid. All of these tips are what I use to make my S3 Mini fast and I play games like Modern Combat 4 , Dead Trigger 1 and 2, Shadowgun DZ, and Asphalt 8 very often so I'm sure that these tips should help you. Also I have the Canadian version of the S3 mini so my CPU is faster and my GPU is better than the international version of the phone, but these tips should still work on any phone since they work on my low end LG L3. Hope this helped
Forgot to mention if all else fails reflashing the firmware is always an option
