Hey Guys,
two things:
1. I just noticed a software bug regarding the camera on Nexus 4:
If you change the resolution down to 5MP and then zoom in, the picture you take will have an "color offset"
To easier show what I am talking about, here 2 examples:
FIRST , using stock aamera app, 5MP UNZOOMED
SECOND , using stock camera app, 5MP ZOOMED
Android Google code issue: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=41721
2. Can you reproduce it too?
Certainly looks messed up to me. Does it do that every time on 5MP when you zoom? No matter how still you are? Do different white balances affect it? I'm not sure this will affect many people...I, for one, always use 8MP and rarely zoom. Still, a bug is a bug and it should be fixed...
I have it also, but I can't reproduce it in every shot. Here is one where the effect is visible on the stereos speakers...

Every Zoom stage on 5MP and it gets more akward the bigger the zoom.
Yes, even if you are perfectly still.
Sucks but at least it is an easy fix, don't zoom. Maybe if the n4 had an optical zoom it would be an issue.

Hey there,
Just wondering, does anyone else find the photos on the 2X really milky and overly bright?
Take a look here at some I took this weekend...

Compared to some photos I took a couple of weeks ago with my Desire HD..
I would have thought the 8MP on the LG would kill the Desire HD but now looking at it, I'm not so sure...?
It's said like a thousand times before but i'll say it again. There is a problem with the auto white balance, if you do it by hand the photo's will be much better .
WB how you do it by hand? I can only select automatic presets that are not very good.
Anyway, the best improvment in quality photo for my lg optimus was by reducing exposure by 1 or 2 clicks on the +/- icon
Take a look at the camera mod in the dev section to improve your camera quality. I know its just for video for now but maybe in future updates it will contain improved photos.

I'm already running that
They app aint that sophisticated sadly enough, but you can change the white balance at settings, if you go there you see it's normally on auto, you can change it to sunny and stuff like that. That allready changes a lot for me.
Thanks yeah I changed it to landscape and was much better, but also Camera 360 kills the stock app
I noticed i get less glare when i take off the battery cover, i think it contributes to the milkyness a bit but not sure
Hello all,
I would like it if some people could share pictures from the front-camera, particularly in low-light (it does not have to be a selfie ). This is because I am worried about the performance of my front camera because even though it says it is ISO 320 in the EXIF, the quality looks to be smudgy and really soft (even though I turned off the soft skin and stabilizer setting in Manual mode).
I know that its only 2MP but still, the quality of it in low-light as compared to good light is really significant. So I would like to confirm if this is just me or also the others..
Btw, I have a Clear Screen Protector so I'm not sure if that might also be contributing..
Thanks!!

You are not incorrect. The front camera, even worse than the back one, suffers from noise, grain, oversharpening artifacts, blurring, and washed out colors.

Hm, bummer. I wonder if its software again or if its just the nature of front facing cameras? Weird thing is front facing video seems to be alright..
Thanks man!
I noticed this on front facing camera, my gf has z1 I have s3 and mine wins hands down

As you'll be able to see in the pic, in low lights or even a bit of light the camera has very much noise like burning fire no matter what mode I am using superior auto or manual but when I change ISO to 400 the noise tends to almost disappear but still does, so by not messing things up is this a common software issue? I had tried several camera apps all are the same is this software or hardware/lens issue? I am running on latest 2.257 firmware

Erm, could you post a few actual pictures please? The viewfinder does NOT display the quality of eventual images as it does not apply any processing. The view from the viewfinder will always be hella-noisy. (that's a term, right? Down with the kids, me )
Actual results can be as good as this:

This is not meant to be a scientific test, I have 10 minutes or so of spare time so I just thought I'd test this.
No HDR, no anti-shake (as in compositing multiple photos into 1), no nothing just simple click to shoot.
The champions are:
1. Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A G906L, with 16MP sensor

}
2. HTC One X Endeavour, with 8MP sensor
3. Sony Alpha NEX-5 2011, with 16MP sensor
Honestly, I think the S5 looks worse than my ancient relic that is the HTC One X, which was actually tested last so the sky has gotten dimmer. Maybe because the pixels are just way too small. I really think 8MP is good enough for phones for all sharpness purposes.
And then once again, pixel count isn't everything. The 2011 pre-historic Sony camera still wins hands down, even though it has the same pixel count as the S5.
And here are the full views, not full resolutions though, don't think any site will host the full thing for me.
==============================================
But if you look at it the other way, since the sensors are so damn small and you can't make low light photos watchable anyway, why not just boost the pixels and make the daytime photos better, even just slightly?
Del
LOL at people who expect DSLR sensor ISO performance out of a ****ty camera phone sensor. There's a reason why some of those cameras cost $2,500 or more...
I mean, it is just a mobile phone camera so performance will never be as good as a real camera (DSLR), but the only gripe I have with the S5 is the absence of "Low Light" mode that the S4 had, which made it easier, or in other words, known that the setting was dark, therefore allowing the cameras software to adjust for it.
When you disable the watermark/logo in settings, do you still have a white foggy area above the phone? See photo. I am not sure if this is the just to use as a contrasting background for the black font watermark or if my camera is faulty. However surely if you remove the watermark in settings then the white fog should be removed too as it is not needed anymore?
So do I have a problem or is it normal with all the cameras?

Yes, mine does too. Seems to be Huaweis way of hiding the camera / phone from the shot
Is there any way of doing long exposure shot with this camera?
Huawei specs says that camera has up to 30sec exposure
Hello, everywhere is written that huawei cv60 360 camera is shooting 2k video, but in app written 1920x960 resolution, and this is not 2 k resolution, any thoughts ?

Not that I know of, the software would need to support it and it doesn't appear to at the moment.

In summary 1920x960 = 1843200 = 2K :cyclops: just marketing, nothing personal
This white overlay thing on the bottom of the 360 camera (white beneath huawei logo when on) is kind of annoying. Is there anyway this could be remove view editing the APK file.
