Hey guys, I hope I can get a few recommendations regarding Gingerbread Roms with gooooood battery life.... Currently I am running on MIUI mcgv.3 or something and the battery drain is just pissing me off....
I looked through the Rom list too but none stated how the battery life was on them..
Also I would like to have the ROM as minimal as possible, just all the tweaks (dont really care about themes, roms or unlocking screens)
So guys, any help and recommendation is appreciated ))
thanks a lot!!!
Best battery on a Gingerbread ROM I found using Criseklo v56.
Newer versions didnt last that long. Search in google Criskelo v56. I can get easily 40+ hours on that.
im using darky's 10.1 and the max i managed was 1d 20hours with 3g on like 3 hours
alright, thanks guys, I will check em both out )
FuguMod + Insanity Rom. 2+ days easy
I've gone from simply honey to darkys 10.1 and I could get more use out of simply honey. Seemed to have less glitches too.
I think GingerCriskeloV66 is also good !!
try it >>
I'm using MIUI 5.31. Left my Phone on for the night with Data + wifi on.
It went from 100% (which is fake. It's actually 98%) to 92%. That's pretty cool for an almost 10 hours sleep. Especially for this ROM which used to be a battery hogger! But now I love it =)
I'm on stock JVO + CF-root. Flashed another modem and a wifi driver from Latest BCM4329 (WiFi) driver for Gingerbread. Getting about 4 days on light usage with wifi, GPS, data sync on all the time. I have 1% battery drain over 2-3h on standby.
Iám on Simply Honey 3.5 Revolution! 1day 20hour with 1500mAh Battery!

I'm using GingerReal 5.0 with Darkcore 2.5 :
Phone (average 1h use) with datanetwork off and mostly on standby 3+ days
Phone (average 2-3h use) with datanetwork and 3G on it lasts 36 hours.
Phone (average 2-3h use) with datanetwork and 3G on and 3 exchange acounts it lasts 21 hours.
Brotuk's stockrom jv9 with damiens 2.1 kernel using it heavily I got an honest 28hrs.
Sent via ET and he phoned it in.
After using Samsung stock ROMs for over a year I finally switched to CM7.1(Stable) last week. But the battery life I'm getting now is not as good what I used to get with Samsung stock ROMs. With JVT I easily got 24hrs, but now I cant go beyond 15hrs with same usage patterns (3G during day and WiFi at night, few short calls and around 50 SMSs, with a bit of web browsing and some online audio streaming). Did anyone else notice a similar battery life drop going from a recent stock ROM to CM7.1 ?
I ran the CM7 nightlies until recently and came back to JVT because of battery life and the hello hello bug. I use my phone as a music player for most of the day and find that stock ROMs hardly deplete the battery at all, with CM7 I was getting the same sort of life as you.

For me, CM 7.1 Stable drains battery a lot. I've changed to JVP modem and it seems to be a bit longer, maybe I'll try with Fugu kernel.
Looks like I'll be going back to JVT. Idling battery drain is way too much. For example I charged it around 8 last night and by 12 noon today, battery is down to 45% mostly just idling and few texts. This is as bad as original eclair release came with the phone.
I personaly dont find there to be a huge difference but i am on Bell which is HSPA only (3G all the time)
i find i always have to recharge by 4 pm (8 am wake up) but i am a heavy user. I am waiting for my extended battery so i can make it through a day.

What was the last stock ROM you used ? I used to get similar battery life with earlier ROMs, sometimes I had to charge it twice in a day depending on usage. But with recent ROMs (2.3.3 and up), I ever hardly charged it twice, despite very heavy use (more than an hour of calling , GSM/VOIP, about an hour of internet audio streaming etc..). IMO stock ROMs are really good at idle power consumption, I have managed to get 2 days with light use, a full day with moderate use and more than 10hrs with heavy use.
EDIT : CM7 is smoother and quicker; I also like the customizability. I’ll again give it a try when ICS comes out , but till then I'm back to Samsung Stock, because poor battery life simply kills the experience for me. Perhaps I can squeeze couple of hours more with some tweaks, but I doubt it'll be as good as JVT.
I myself have come back to 2.3.5 xxjvt cos coming from cm7.1 and darky 10.2 final..i should say stock rom can have a standby time of more than 24hours believe that..otherwise ics might have a lot more to over than gingerbread

I hope when ics is released by cyogenmod battery life gets better this is why ive not updated to 7.1
Hello U all.
Can somebody give me a link to the CM7.1 stable for i9000?
Thank you.
Hey guys. I only want to ask which rom do you think is the bettest for battery life.
Thanks.

My suggestion would be stock gingerbread with speedmod kernel k2-12, i used to get around 4 days with normal use.
That sounds nice. Do you have heavy use of yout phone? Or only deep sleep all the time?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I use it for playing games, little music, calls and messaging. Sometimes connect to Wi-fi. With the same in ICS i get around 2 days.
okay thank you i´ll try. :fingers-crossed:
to set expectations straight, expect thought about 4.5 hours nonstop usage on gb with speedmod kernel.
4 hours on ics with speedmod
alk stock dont expect more then 3 to 3.5 hours.
you only get 2 days if you dont synch, barely use phone and are in good reception area with data switched off always.
Note general tips which can be found in the 10000plus threads about battery drain and how to analyse deepsleep issues

I don't know whether you like gingerbread roms or not , but till date the rom with which I got maximum battery backup with modeate to heavy usage was CheckRom Revo HD V6. This rom never lags , best battery life , and good speed .
If you are Gingerbread hater and ICS lover , then you can try Rocketrom v7( very good battery life with the included kernel , and would be much better with Speedmod Kernel (latest version) ). And then you have CleaNote V2.30 ( V3.0 has bluetooth glitches but its faster , if you are bluetooth user i would suggest you to stick with V2.30 ) , I personally love CleaNote because it has stock look and very fluidic :good: and as the tagline says 'You dont want any theme forced down to your throat '. KingDroid are good at speed but many have reported few glitches with it , you may try it if you like ( I dont like KingDroid , its sth personal ). If you hate Samsung's bloatware then we have Cassie's XtraLite rom for your rescue :cyclops:. Its a good rom too .
Well finally to end , I use cyanogenmod 9 and i update it everyday and with each update it gets more fluid and responsive, fast , smooth . i just love cyanogenmod9 ( waiting for cm10 ).
ParanoidAndroid are for ppl who love fun , who want to showoff their phone , the ability of their phone , the sweet hybrid interface of their phone , its for geeks :-0 .
Make a choice or try all of them :good::good:

I am using CLASSIC V1+15 toggle with MOD V1 which is ICS 4.0.4, and I also updated kernel to chainfire LRG, which is more stable and smooth, battery life is excellent comparatively to all other ROMs so far.
Which is around 4% drain per hour, I have (facebook, wechat, LINE, mitalk, whatsapp, email, exchange service, maps, mixed chinese input, make your own clock) running and leaving it on idle.

For the past 2 years of beeing a S galaxy user, I've quite looked for best battery life at top performance. Most of the time, battery life is no longer measured in "days" of usage , like we used to do with our Nokia phones. Nowadays, you ten to look at display (screen on) time , CPU profiles, and also connectivity patterns.
You can think of battery life as a factor of the above mentioned, however I think that display time is the most important parameter related to battery life. CPU profiles, connectivity, tend to work only when you have your screen on, and from my experience, you tend not to extend your usage time by more than 10-20%.
So as a conclusion, I did not expect a specific rom / kernel configuration to offer more "screen on" time but to offer a more faster way to do my tasks therefore I did more tasks in almost the same display time.
At the end of the day, it is more important how you USE your device rather than finding a "magical" combination that will increase your battery life.
KID + SpeedMod
+1 for GB (i was using checkrom but i'm sure any gb rom will give similar effects) with Speedmod.
If you make setcpu to 200mhz on screen off, i find it uses almost no power at all when it's on standby.
Like it was on 77% when i went to bed.
Woke up in the morning and it was on 78% (i was like lolwut).
Yay for setcpu.
But seriously though, any GB rom will give you considerably more battery life than any ics rom.
ROM
The best ROM for a battery-HALF ILLUSION and placed on the scale smartas governor.
Try and tell me your impressions.
the best rom for battery

the best rom for battery is Criskelo's ICS V9
I bet this is the best custom rom on battery savings, try it you will not regret it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722038
Hi guys,
i recently sold my crappy Xperia Tipo (i goddamn hate it) and bought an S3 Mini, i love it, it's my first day with it, but i'm having serious issues with the battery life, it discharges too fast,
When i bought it i drained all the battery, then charged it (turned off) to 100%.... but still its draining too fast.
The phone is brand new... i don't know why it discharges so fast, it's on android 4.1.2:
Should i update to a custom rom? i would like to taste KitKat, that CM11...
Do you suggest it?

The battery is not our great ally here xD
But custom rom have bugs, no matter what ppl say.. they have and will have for a while...
IF you dont care about warranty and want to take the chance to improve your cell, yes, there are some good roms to upgrade Jelly Bean to KitKat or just update to 4.3
Personal, Maclaw have a great work done in his CM and Carbon (Don Like at all Slim or OAKP ) that work with kit kat, still in process; in the case of 4.3 dont know, i just did the jump from 4.1 to 4.4
I'm actually using Mac CM 11.0 and I have to charge it every night, the same as with a Stock ROM / based custom ROM. I'm actually doing around 5 to 6 hours calling and a little bit of Line/Whatsapp during the day.
It's faster, and I like Open Source ROMs the most, because of the design, but it's up to you.

hey guys,
the road so far:
I started rooting and installing TWRP recovery in my phone, then i updated to Maclaw Kitkat 4.4.2 and flashed gapps...
i noted that the phone improved just a little bit, because without the bloatware it's much better, i don't have any bugs actually...
From 5 am to 11.30 am it went down 3% without 3G, i went to sleep and lost 3 % that's a little bit better...
I suggest to do a full rom backup with TWRP and try a new custom rom, 4.4 or 4.3!!
leave this post open for if someone knows something else about the battery life.

Dont know much how long is battery life with the stock rom, bcause i started using the phone directly with the CM11 of maclaw. I am running the 20140120 version, and i am always reading about the news and comments of the last maclaw's release.. (think i will do an update soon..)
I see that battery life increase changing the governor ( abyssplug ) and the I/O scheduler ( sio ). I dont use wifi so much but often 3g data connection (chat, mail pushing, some internet surfing etc..) , listen music, make some photos... airplane mode during night!
after 1,5 day of use.. i should charge!
had an xperiaE before with a stock 4.1.2 jb and the battery life was greater... ( but is completely another device with another hw and os .. )

I'm kindda pissed of with the Xperia line, my friend had the Xperia U and smashed it across the hallway because after hours and hours of flashing new roms it always came down to poor...extreme poor performance haha.
What's the governor ?
governor takes control of which the CPU is used... there are a lot of threads about...or just google the word and you will find a lot of literature..

hi
What rom would give me a few days battery life for Samsung Galaxy S III mini GT-I8190???, Id love to see lollypop on it
Hey s3 mini users, i just want to ask a quick question about battery life. So recently i have tried many custom roms (CM11, CM12, vanirAOSP,Dmodv6 and alot more) but i have a problem with my battery life. Roms that are AOSP based like CM11 has horrible battery life (2h screen on time with 10% left). However if i used samsung stock rom based custom rom, the battery is a lot better, i get 3h+ screen on time with 20% left over. So my question is, is this normal for my phone to have bad battery life on AOSP roms?

sorry i missclicked. i get about 2,5-3,5h screen on time. depends on task what i do. if i read much in dark i sometimes get like 4h.
im just using a clean setup, maclaws CM12, with not much apps (i dont need much) & all is grennified which has the blue cloud. only whatsapp runs in background, no mods/tweaks.
Have you tried cm 11 before? If you have, is the battery life on cm 12 significantly better?

what, thats amazing battery life. I tried both cm 11 and cm 12 but my battery life just sucks. Theres no wakelocks draining battery but the only thing i noticed is that when i download stuff (play store or on internet) my cpu just clocks to max ghz (1ghz) and stays there until download is over. Is this normal or what? cause this is the only thing i can think of that could drain my battery. So confusion
